Great family owned business. Brought a motor and starter in for boat parts and both were rebuilt very quickly and work like a dream! Excellent customer service, fair prices and high quality work!

Had a new cluster put in my 1997 shortbed chevy, gas gauge and temp gauge didn t work after he admitted Chevy sent him 2 bad ones and didn t warranty the new one he installed..Almost $900 dollars later the gauges don t work Service: Electrical

They never fixed the original issue and charged me full price. When trying to explain to the receptionist that I was told to bring it back so they could reassess it without charging me again, the owner had to be told to go back inside by his wife as he muttered "I'm about to get offensive". We were all handling the matter calmly even after his rude comment.If this business, or lack thereof, is ever used be sure to have written and audible documents of your own or they will screw you over!Service: Electrical

What an absolutely horrible experience. This place is staffed with the worst, sullen, miserable, downtrodden, unhappy antiques on the planet. If you hate your industry so much then it's time to retire the shingle. These people do not care about you or any of your concerns and they make damn well sure you know it. Save yourself the time, trouble and aggravation and take your vehicle to Hansards, great little shop right down the street.

I went here twice the first time was ok but than the second time when they told me I needed something replaced I bought the part and everything 5 hours went by and I asked for an update and the mechanic said he had no idea how long and that he hates installing this certain part and it could take days so I went to pick it up and the receptionist lady was super nice but the mechanic was incredibly rude he was yelling and screaming as if he didn t wanna be their it took the lady to calm him down before I would ve said something and than told me to come back in 2 hours for nothing to get done just saying if you hate your job find a different one

Doug, Betsy, and his family run a first rate business! They immediately had my brake light and battery issue diagnosed and fixed within a few hours at a very fair price. Doug s seasoned advice on how to safely get the car into his shop to not further damage it was priceless and protective information! Left to my own devices, I probably would ve created more damage to the alternator. I would recommend this honest, efficient, protective, and very fairly priced business to anyone with electrical automobile issues! A life saver! I m giving 2 stars because at least the young girl at front desk is nice and respectful.I take my jeep in because the battery dies if it s left for 2-3 days without running. I also ask if they can get the horn working and one of the light bars on top of jeep.They call and say the Cluster in the dash is the problem and it will take two weeks to come in. I ask if the looked at horn and light bar. They said no, not yet. So I ask if they can look at that and call me so I can come get my jeep and bring it back when the new cluster comes in. She says yes. At the end of the day no one has called me so I call to see if it was ready. This is where an older lady gets on the phone to tell me I can not have my jeep back for two weeks until the new cluster comes in. When I explain the other girl told me I can pick it up, she yells at me and tells me what I m saying is not true. I would have never choose to go without my jeep for two weeks.So, I leave it there and luckily it does get done sooner than 2 weeks.However, when I leave I realize now my audio does not work and it always worked. I call and the nice lady says oh yeah, we forgot to join that back up. If you bring it in, it will take about five minutes to fix.I bring it in the next day and I guy basically yells at me and tells me they unhooked it and now that don t work on audio so I ll need to take it to someone who does.What the heck!!! Terrible business practices, extremely disrespectful and really just mean people. The nice lady that works there was even upset with the guy telling me he wasn t hooking my audio back up.Service: Electrical

After 930.00 dollars truck won't even start or run on the tank they repaired. When I went to pick it up they said it was still running a little sluggish it's just the gas we couldn't drain the gas run it out then it will be fine well there you go pretty much anybody knows when you change the fuel pump you drain the gas (if you can't do something right then don't do it)so after 930 dollars I get a truck for two days then leaves me try calling them just get the run a round do yourself a favor go to Honest 1 In Ormond Beach.

I had an electric problem with my van. After sending it in to this mechanic, it was supposedly checked and found "nothing wrong with the van" but that it was a bad battery". I bought a new interstate brand battery from him for $235.00 and went home. The next morning, the same problem happened where my car couldn't start anymore. I came back to him to return the battery since it was not the issue, but he said he can't.When I was in his shop, I heard him saying the same phrases about the battery being bad and recommending a new battery to at least 5 other customers, which leads me to think that he may be a scammer trying to sell batteries. Do no go there.

Called on a Thursday couldn t see me until Monday at 8am. Monday came and my car had a diagnosis and fixed by noon. I was told it could be one of several things. I didn t want to play guessing games. Doug figured it out right away and has/had me back on the road within a few hours. Very fair prices and also the best around with starter prices etc. saved me a lot of money. Doug is definitely your go to guy. Been around for years and use to make special starters/alternators for my ex husbands car with so much music and bass. Doug can make or come up with anything he is your guy!!!Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I brought my truck in to have a headlight repaired that had a bad connector. My truck has aftermarket headlights which I installed over a year ago and I've never had an issue until recently. They removed the grill to remove the headlight which is totally unnecessary. There's only two bolts and a plastic retaining clip that holds the headlight in place and everything is accessible without removing the grill.They then proceeded to break the plastic clip that secures the back of the headlight which would explain why the headlight was loose when I got my truck back. Not only that when they reinstalled the bulb it wasn't seated in the headlight assembly correctly causing it to shine straight down to the ground providing very little forward facing light. Last but not least I had asked them to replace the bulb on the passenger side and they didn't do it. When I called them to see if they were willing to make all their mistakes right they became very offensive and told me to leave them a bad review and that they would counter my review by saying I'm a wanna be mechanic. I'm not a mechanic by trade but in my opinion neither are they. I've updated my review because here we are a couple weeks later and the connector they installed has burnt up and once again my headlight doesn't work. I've included a picture of the burnt connector. I'll fix it myself this time. The only reason I took it them in the first place was because I really didn't have time to mess with it. Get your story straight if your going to respond to my reviews.

I took our car to D Lenz Auto.Electric after it had been sitting at another repair shop for three weeks. Within 4 hours D Lenz had the problem diagnosed and the repair done the same day. They were honest and very fair priced. I would highly recommend them for any auto repair. They informed me that if they can t help a customer, they know who to refer them to. Mr Mrs Doug Lenz are the real deal. Extremely nice and pleasant. Doesnt over promise and under deliver. If can they cant repair, no charge. Would recommend for generator, alternator and all auto electric repairs.

930.00 only to get a truck back that will not run on the tank they repaired and told they couldn't drain the tank so it will run a little rough until you run out the bad gas now won't even start on the back tank try to talk to someone just get the runaround.

Ive dealt with this shop for more than ten years, i take my antique motorcycle electric system to them, or my 1990 h.d. starter to them, no question, its fixed, most the time,that day.. There maybe one other shop in the deland area,that could do this.. But the trip to Daytona,always is a sure thing .

Solutions and results. Doug is the man when you have electrical problems. Don't forget to make an appointment because his time is very valuable. He is also extremely busy so appointments are definitely recommended

Truly an electrical genius. They allowed me to drop my car off after hours ( keys are to be put in slot through door) . All my issues were fixed and a super reasonable price.
