My Jeep Grand Cherokee wouldn t start while I was visiting Dayton Beach and I had to have it towed to George s repair shop. From the beginning George was very communicative, keeping me up to date on his investigation. As it turned out, the Jeep started on George s first, and subsequent attempts and he was never able to reproduce the crank (but not start problem). He did so much research and analysis on the vehicle and came up with a theory, and explained that theory to me in order to let any future mechanics know if the problem ever reoccurred. Rather than charge me to replace parts that didn t need replacing (like a fuel pump $$$), George was honest and told me he was not able to reproduce the symptoms. I totally appreciate his integrity and his dedication to suss out the issue.Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

Best car repair shop I've ever been to. George and his wife Peggy who works up front have been so good to me and my family since we moved here 8 months ago. They are family owned, hard working, and have fair prices. I have never been charged a diagnostic fee. They always take the time to answer my questions and educate me on what was wrong with my car and how to prevent future issues if possible. I could not recommend them enough. To my knowledge, they do all repairs except tires.

George was able to fix my brake light that the other mechanic couldn't fix before! It turned out to be a simple issue, but I'm so happy that they were able to catch it and tell me what was wrong. The price was very affordable, and I would definitely bring my car again if it has any issues in the future.

What an asset Daytona Beach has in British American Auto Repair! I work on a boat and pull into ports all along the coasts. Each port has little gems like this place. I brought George an oddball 24v starter to look at, but was departing the following morning. He made time after hours to open up my starter in an effort to it working before we departed. Amazing level of personal service! Beyond that, there are very few true repair shops anymore. Most places just swap parts with inferior import junk. Family run small businesses are the backbone of communities. Daytona would be wise to celebrate and and rally support behind this one!

George and his entire family and crew are just the best. If you want someone that doesn't sugar coat it. Someone who tells you the truth , then you need to go to British American by George. The one with the gas pump out front. He's honest, he works hard and has breathed new life into my older service truck. Just get me another 20k miles outta it George, I swear that's all I need!! For the best service and up front honesty and fair prices go to George. He doesn't need our review. He's the best. Everyone knows it. Thanks for all your help .Chris withCwright.

By far the best auto repair I've ever been to in my ENTIRE LIFE! My mom and I love these people, they treat you like family It all started a couple years ago my sister drove down from GA and was having issues with her Honda Sport.. We just happened to Google the first person we seen online and called them. George the owner had made a hilarious joke over the phone and we said "Yep this is the guy for the job!"So we have been taking all our vehicles in to have them serviced by this shop.. George (owner) and his sons are the most honest people in the business (which non the less is damn near impossible to say about mechanics now a days) it's a family owned shop and I just can't say enough how great they are!!! If I could give them a MILLION STARS I would George really helped me with my ran down 2003 Jeep Cherokee one day by finding out all I had was a bad cell in a battery that I've only had for a little under a year. He went as far as having a new battery delivered to us within 30 mins so I didn't have to go pick it up being 8/9 months preg and didn't charge me a dime. Most places would of said your transmission was going out or something crazy just to drain you dry. I can't thank this family enough for their services to our family and friends. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (obviously)

George is a awesome guy ! He s brutally honest with you in all the right ways and treats you as if you were his own family. He gives you so much knowledge about your vehicle and other vehicles that you almost feel as if you can start you own shop lol. He deserves the best!

I accidentally left a 3 star review. I have yet to complete my experience with this establishment, so I didn't mean to leave a review yet, my bad!!! Edited to a five star as they did the job I hired them to do so far!! It was a human experience. They ran a diagnostic on my vehicle and checked my brakes etc. I believe his name was Derek he went above and beyond to notice other issues with my vehicle I would have overlooked. I have yet to pick up my estimate but will edit review if necessary. :)

What a pleasure to be here, they are excellent mechanic but even more excellent as a person, you can feel their good vibes since the first time you walk in and talk to them.They are super knowledgeable about how to do the best job for your vehicle, I would recommend them 1000%. They explained every detail about my vehicle issues and gave me different options and even some recommendations.George Father, George Son and Peggy are great people.

George is a Master Mechanic!!! There isn't ANYTHING that has an engine, that George can't fix. There isn't anyone left like him! My 92 year old father who was a mechanic all his life respects Georges talent and knowledge. My dad has talked about George for years and I finally got to meet him, for he is working on one of my dad's old cars. He is extremely talented and brilliant!!

I just bought my first Range Rover a year ago, 2011 Range Rover Sport, and I wanted an experienced mechanic, but didn't want the exaggerated fees from the dealership. I found George and couldn't be happier. I've been in for a check engine, oil change and now brakes and rotors. I picked up some performance upgrades in the brake kit and George had no problem installing them. Does maintaining a Rover cost more then a Chevy... yes, but that is expected. We had a continuing problem with our Jeep and couldn't find the problem to it but George and his sons wouldn't give up until they got the situation handled. The car now runs great, just like new and we wouldn't think of bringing our vehicles anywhere else. We are so confident in his team that we are bringing our Mercedes there and have them work on that as well.

Best and most honest auto shop that I have been to! If I could give him a 10 star rating I would. We were in Daytona for only a week on vaca and our car was in need of servicing. George and his team turned the repair around same day just like he said he would and his prices were fair and reasonable. We got our wheels back and it saved our family vacation. Such a down to earth and hard working family. Definitely would recommend this family owned business for any and all auto repair work!

I agree with all the previous reviews. What a pleasure! And a treasure. I just came across this place as I needed to check my tire pressure and put some air. I didn t know what to expect and I don t stop at car place often. They were so kind! The outside is so cute and the inside is pretty nice organized too for a shop. I didn t get to spend a lot of time as I had another appointment, but it was lovely experience and I look forward to working with them again! They gave me several cards too for what I needed. The kindest :) I am actually gonna hangout more haha.

This place is run by nice, professional and down to earth people. They do what you ask, and don't try to push you into paying for additional services. If you need to leave your car there, they're good at keeping you updated about the progress. You guys have a customer for life! And I will recommend you to all I know look for a good honest mechanic.I took my daughters car to Deland Ford for a transmission recall and they told me a sensorWas bad in relation to her airbag and quoted me $2280 to fix it. Naturally I wanted to do my homework and see if I can find it cheaper. British American was referred by a friend and it was the best thing I could do! George and his family took time and researched the codeFor me hunted the part down for me and a tripto Jacksonville and less then $200 later they had her car fixed! Saved me $2000 and to top it off the part they switched out was not what Ford told me was wrong so most likely I would have been out of more money! Thank you so much George and Peggy and family you guys are amazing

Super awesome guy George is! I had dropped my fuel tank and I couldn't get the lock ring free of the fuel pump. George had me bring it to him and helped me break it free and than he offered me to run grab my replacement pump and helped me lock it down for super cheap! My go to place now

I had a continuing problem with my 03 Miata. George took the time to discuss the problem with me and along with his son, traced it to the one part I hadn t replaced. The car is now running great. Great job.

After reading the 2 previous reviews... it's very unfortunate to find out that consumers, customers and patrons do NOT understand how labor is accrued in the auto industry. These gentlemen do impeccable work at a fair to great discount compared to a dealership or commercialized company. The friendly morale standards they set are above and beyond that of ANY auto mechanic or retailer we have ever come across. They are a family team of 2 sons and their father and their focus is driven to serve and keep you on the road and to help you obtain the correct knowledge you need to PREVENT your issue from happening again.The issue truly is the incomplete reviews given; customer service experiences are more than just what the customers opinion is based on. If you walk into a store or shop with a negative attitude or thought process or don't come across who you approach upon your visit with an appropriate manner, you may get what you dish out. I know from experience. We all do. Now, I too, used to work in the auto industry, for Southeastern Toyota as an inventory control supervisor! And I can tell you FIRST HAND, that these guys do it right! They can't cut their labor on every job or they would be out of business. But if you are kind to them when you walk in and chat, they will extend every courtesy and then some to you. That has been my wife's and I experience. Those parts aren't always cheap, and it is not easy to get into most of the areas in some vehicles. This is why we pay them to do it! Have you ever tried to change just a battery in a German car?? Lol ENJOY!! A VW Tourag?? You start by removing the driver seat! Some people have the nerve to COMPLAIN that their toilet flushes clockwise!These guys do more than just service your vehicle, they coach you and empower you with knowledge that may never have ever found out on your own, they honestly DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU BACK! Because they want your issue resolved.My name is Malcolm Smith, 12 yr US Army Vet, and I even pay these guys a little extra just for an oil change! #buttbustingfromsunuptosundown
