I have had the best experience with a car repair shop with AAMCO of Daytona/Holly Hill. John is the manager there, and this location was just started under his new management a few months ago. I had a really bad experience with another car shop that denied doing transmission work for me because they didn t want to work with the extended warranty company. John assured me that he would do everything possible to help me, and he stayed true to his word. John not only contacted the extended warranty company, but he went back and forth with them for two weeks assuring that I would receive what they had promised to provide. John truly cared about me as a person and fellow human being, not just as a customer. He helped me with figuring out the cost on my income, and helped me figure out a way to come up with a payment plan for the rest of what I owed. I recommend anyone to go to AAMCO of Daytona/Holly Hill for any car needs.

Took my Lincoln to a dealer and they said it would be over $12,000 to fix the transmission. Aamco did it for a fraction of the cost. Honest people and they will work with you to provide the best outcome for you at reasonable prices. Definitely would recommend! Talk to John and he will treat you right!

The owner was nice enough to get me approved for an aamco car care credit card. But, prior to that I found a less expensive way to get my car fixed, and he wanted to charge me a fee for the diagnosis. So, I got it done there. Two weeks later the engine died.

I didn't take my car here, but I did call to get some information and had a really nice experience with the staff there.First, when I called, the technician Mike was on another call and the kind woman who answered the phone assured me he would give me a call back. Within 10 minutes he gave me a call and even apologized for the wait, which was unnecessary but appreciated. He then proceeded to listen and hear me out as I explained all the various issues going on with my car, and offered any applicable feedback he could. Ultimately he was forthright with telling me that the issues my car is having are likely electrical and probably best to be seen by another shop, which he then provided the contact information for. He could've easily said "bring it in and we'll take a look at it", costing me time and money for a problem he knew they likely couldn't fix; I genuinely and sincerely appreciate the honesty and ethical business practice I experienced on this 9-minute phone call and would not hesitate to bring my car to them in the future for any transmission issues, as he explained that is their primary expertise. Thanks for being a good dude, Mike!

Would not recommend this business to anyone. They keep deactivating Google accounts to lose decades worth of negative reviews. 1st visit they told me my issue was the transmission. $2200. 5 days later same thing, said it was the transfer case. $1800. A week later the same issue, they told me it was something else that was $290. Interestingly enough, the $290 repair fixed everything. Whenever I raised concern over the diagnosis or the amount, the reply is always an offer to give thr car back in pieces, and just pay for the labor up to that part. Total rip off. When they are phenomenal talkets... terrible mechanics. STAY AWAY.Service: Transmission

Michael was amazing!!! Brought in my 2014 Jeep Cherokee for repair. Michael took the time to show me what was wrong and explain how it happened so I won t make the same mistake again. He then made sure everything was in order for the warranty company to process the claim. This guy actually care!!! Definitely would recommend this place!!!!

I couldn't be happier with the caring honest work done at Aamco Daytona Beach. I started going to Aamco in 2003 with my Ford Windstar that needed a transmission. Work was done well and in a timely manner. Also, care was taken I getting me to and from work. Since then. I have had several cars, 2 Dodges, Chrysler and Mirsubushi. Issues were everything from general maintenance to full transmission work. I can count on Mike's honesty with what needs to be done. Mike has also gone out of his way to get me the best price possible for the job. I have sent several friends to Aamco after they got unbelievably expensive estimates on their cars (Mercury, Toyota, Lexus). They have all been very satisfied with a job well done. You can count on Aamco/Mike to work on many makes/models and feel comfortable with their recommendations.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

I've had my COBRA worked on twice at this location and the work done and service has been top notch. I like that the employees working there are mainstays so I can call and talk to the same people year after year like Michael. My most recent repair was a bit more than I had anticipated, but the communication was clear and often on my options and what needed to be done. The pricing is fair and surely a better deal than the dealer. Their mechanics have superb skills and fixed an internal differential repair on my car doing an excellent job. I highly recommend this shop!

My college age daughter was having trouble with her transmission slipping and her car was almost not drivable. We left it at their shop with the service manager telling us that they would check it over and call us with the estimated repair cost. What happened next stunned me. We were called and told that the problem was a module not the transmission, and that they had researched the problem and found that the manufacturer had extended the warranty for that problem. He gladly gave us the information we needed and sent us to the Ford dealer that had to fix the problem under warranty. We had called the Ford dealer prior to going to Aamco and we were told all warranty repairs were expired on this car. Aamco made nothing for their honesty on this job but they earned a life long customer for any other work that I will ever need that they do at their shop..Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

I brought my card to aamco after two other mechanics told me what was wrong with it but didn't want to fix it they said it was too hard of a job. After I brought to aamco they told me not only was my clutch bad but so was my flywheel when the other two mechanics never even told me that. The manager Michael even sent me pictures to show me how bad the damage was. The manager Michael told me he had to order special parts so I thought it would be a couple weeks but it only took 4 days for them to get the parts and finish it. I couldn't be happier the car drives as good as new and I have a year warranty. I am extremely happy and pleased I will bring my other car there and have all work done there from now on. Michael the manager was very professional and nice treated me with the utmost respect and gave me a great deal I saved a ton of money I will recommend aamco on Mason to anyone I know that needs any type of work done!Service: Transmission

Left our car to be looked at for a problem not starting. Heard nothing for 3 days. Finally get a call with the estimate which was way too much so we went and picked it up. We took it to a different local shop which correctly diagnosed the problem and they had it fixed the following morning for a fraction of what this Aamco was going to charge us. They incorrectly diagnosed the problem, they charge way too much, and they took FOREVER to even look at the car. Our visit was a complete waste of time.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Brakes

My vehicle is still currently in this shop. So far....this shop has been outstanding in helping me decide my best course of action regarding my transmission. At this time, it is being torn apart to decide to severity of damage to see if a rebuild is a fair option or if it is severe enough that a full replacement is simply a better option.

The worst shop I've left my car at. Took 3 days to diagnose the problem, and another day to fix it. Once I got it back, one of my sensors started going crazy and they told me it would be another day worth of diagnosing to figure out why. Not to mention the overpricing. If you can avoid going here, do it.

Not vary good work done! Because a little over 32,000 miles ago I spent 2,700 dollars on according to 'Mike the general manager from the Dayton Beach location' On a complete rebuild of my transmission and that "This transmission should last 100,000 miles or more " but lucky for AAMCO just as the mileage warranty expired my transmission need a complete rebuild once again. I would never ever recommend anyone to get any kind of service done there. Michael is a vary helpful guy but AAMCO will not stand behind there work if anything goes wrong.

Had 2 transmissions done. Both are still in good working order. One I have had for nearly 10 years. I had the service done in Lighthouse Point, Florida and broke down up here about a year later. They still honored the warranty. The owner had an incident with my father a long time ago. This made it a little harder to do business with him. Once we got pass that everything worked out. Both of my Truck's transmission cost me about 4k each. That's the only thing I didn't like about dealing with aamco, but it has lasted along time.

Mike is always courteous and works a plan for repair with me, understanding finances are tight these days. I know they look out for me and their prices are fair.I am confident, when I leave the work is done right. My car has all its maintenance done there for a year now because I know I can trust them.

I took my 2003 Ford Ranger and to have the rear transmission seal replaced. A $20 part with $600 of Labor. I told them don't do anything else. Don't test drive it. Don't investigate the insides. Nothing. Then I get a phone call from them saying that my perfectly fine transmission had less than a hundred miles to go before a catastrophic failure. They sent me a video they had made of the insides of "my" transmission spread apart on a workbench. Of course, it could have been any transmission . No way of knowing. In the video they showed me how the parts were just about to fail. Of course, there was a estimate included and the thousands of dollars. Probably the most crooked business I have ever dealt with.

My Chrysler van started acting weird. The speed odometer would not work and it would not shift gears. We called AAMCO Wednesday the 25th and they said bring it in for a free inspection of the problem. Dropped the van off and the general manager Mike was wonderful to deal with. Received a phone call later that day saying they found the problem and he gave me a price which was less then i expected. Told me it may be done Thursday the 26th and he would call me when it was ready. I received the call around 11:30 Thursday that the van was ready. Went to pick it up and was treated with the upmost respect. It is wonderful to be treated with such kindness. I highly recommend this place . A big Thank you to Mike and the crew there. May God Bless you all.

Mike and the guys were honest and courteous. They took the time to investigate prior work that had been done on the car to better problem solve and they made considerable efforts to explain their findings. The job was done right and fast. In fact, because they knew we were from out of town, they came in early and stayed late to ensure that we could pick it up on our day off. I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend you find another shop! I brought my 2005 Nissan Altima here and as the reviews stated, Mike was nice. It was giving a circuit code for a ground wire. Aamco was really a second opinion. He convinced me o the phone that he would do a thorough inspection of my car. He stated if the other shop did not have it a day then they did not do a good job. Well, sure enough when Mike had my car for a day, he can back with a diagnosis. He diagnoses was to replace the transmission for $1500 plus. I tried to explain to him that it was for a circuit. I even provided the Technical Service Bulletin for him to review. He continued to insist that the transmission needed a full rebuild. So, I took it to another shop. It took him some time to get to it but when he did, he could that the plug to the transmission computer was corroded. He cleaned it and code cleared. Cleaning a corroded plug to the transmission computer was all that was needed. Cost $197 for the labor of tracking the ground. Mike and Aamcco are fake mechanic. He did not do what he said he was going to do and tried to rip me off. I go back to my original statement I highly recommend you find another shop!

Took in an almost 40-year old survivor car there with over 300k miles on it that was sluggish when first starting out, thinking it might be the transmission, and chose to try AAMCO not only do they specialize in transmissions, but do other repairs. Dropped the car off at 8:00am and got a call just after lunch that it was ready to pick up and the good news was that the transmission was fine, they had made a few adjustments, such as the timing being off about 8 degrees, and the sluggishness was due to a problem in the carburetor and they recommended we rebuild it, something I could do myself. When we got the bill, to our surprise, there was no charge. What a nice experience.

I was having issues with my CVT transmission on my 2016 Nissan Altima. I brought it to AAMCO to have it looked at and repaired. Based on our conversation I was advised to seek repairs through the Nissan dealership since the car could still have been under warranty. I was so happy and thankful when I brought it to Nissan. Come to find out I was covered and the repair for a rebuilt transmission came to $0.00, Nissan Corp. covered the repair. Thank you guys for your honesty and referral. Any other shop might have just taken the job for themselves without any regards to the money I saved. Thank you, Thank you!

The day after Christmas my transmission would no longer shift upward properly or at all. This wasn't a surprise for I have been expecting it for a year. After checking out other local places I decided to use Aamco to do rebuild. After finding out they had an 18-month/18k warranty, my trepidation was relieved. The GM, Mark was right on point and very pro$essional in explaining different aspects that may or may not be. He also aided in the fact that my financial difficultly wasnt one and went so far as to find a 100.00 discount coupon that he applied. 1 week later it is completed even with a holiday in that timeframe...so..I take it out of the lot, and am immediately aware that my truck is awesome again...it shifts up like a champ and is very responsive..thank you guys for an awesome rebuild in a shortspan..now I can go visit my mom..

I can't complain about the quality of the work they do because I did not use them to repair our transmission. All I'll say is, shop around. You can find quality work at a much lower price than what I was quoted.
