Feeling scammed by this place. Bought a used troybilt self propelled from here for $240. Not a great deal as the deck is fairly rusted but figured they at least had everything else in order. They started it at the shop ran it for less than a minute and it seemed fine. Went and bought a new gas can with fresh gas from the station and filled it up. Mower ran for about 30 min, bogged down while cutting short grass and eventually cut out. It now starts up and immediately shuts down. Called them for help and the lady asked if there was gas in the mower and that they didn't know what else to tell me besides it worked when I left and to bring it in for a $40 diag fee. I understand I bought the mower with warranty as is but I expected it to at least run for more than 30 minutes. I couldn't even cut my yard. A reasonable business would have said bring it back in and we'll take a look as a courtesy since this was sold literally yesterday. What a way to stand by your work! Instead they want to charge me a diagnostic and repair fee potentially for a mower bought yesterday I was assured would work! I suspected the carb may have been having an issue so I pulled it apart and to my surprise it's missing two gaskets and the fuel hose clamp was a zip tie! Real classy! No trust for these guys after this nonsense, can't believe the carb was missing TWO GASKETS. Must have had a new guy on repairs. Won't be going back as I fear I'd leave with new issues or zip ties.

Terrible place, I went and bought a new weedeater and while I was there asked about repairing my chainsaw, they absolutely we do so I paid in advance for the diagnosis and left it there, a few days went by and they called and said it would be around 270.00 to repair, I agreed and they said I had to pre pay, that should have been the first sign but anyways roughly a month later I get a call from them saying they couldn't fix the saw that after they put all these parts on it still didn't work properly. But no refund for there bad diagnostics, I even offered to purchase a brand new one from them just apply the money towards a new and I'd pay the difference, nope! We don't do that is what I was told, chuck was rude, and refused to let me talk to an owner or manager just to beat someone who just spent 500 in your business, wouldn't recommend this company at all.

Came here thinking it was worth the extra money to get a mower from a specialist than a diy store. WRONG..!!!!Toro didn t work right from the first day. Took in for repair. Waited 4 months only to receive poor attitude blaming covid for the mower not working. Finally picked up after 6 months and nothing was fixed. We sold it on market place as new broken mower. We took a huge loss. Bought new mower from DIY home store. Much cheaper and runs like a charm. I DO NOT RECOMMEND holiday mower. Grumpy & terrible customer service.

I have to leave one star because if I don't. I can't leave a review. This place would get no stars. It's a joke after having my mower for a week and a 1/2. I finally get a call that they want $250 to fix my mower. They said I needed a carburetor, oil change, spark plug, air filter, and my blade sharpened. Well, my neighbor bought my blade from them. So it didn't need it sharpen cause it was brand new. I was not gonna let them fix my mower. So I went to pick it up. I asked for a written estimate. They said they couldn't give it to me. So I asked them if I bought the spark plug and air filter how much they would charge me to fix the carburetor? He said if he doesn't fix everything, he doesn't fix anything at all. So I took my mower home. The only thing wrong with it really was that it needed an air filter. The ball in the gas tank was stuck. Easy fix. $8 air filter and It works perfect, no issues. The oil was good, the spark plug was good. The blade was brand new. Stay away from these scammers!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I dropped a lawn mower off on a Saturday and no call for over a week. I finally called them and the lady said she would call that day with an estimate and as you can guess, no call back. For 3 days I called and they promised me a call back. No call. They finally called after 2 weeks and gave me an estimate of 241$ HA! I figured out the issue and it only cost 10$ Stay away! No business skills due to over price and no communication!

My husband and I purchased a chainsaw from a pawnshop a few days ago. It was leaking oil from the chain area, my husband said. But everything sounded great when he was testing it. He went to go pick it up today and brought it home. And now it won t even run. I warned him about their star review, but he insisted on giving them a shot. I d say the reviews are accurate.**to the response**Unfortunately, none of that s true, my husband always dumps out the oil and gas on everything he brings home you know what you re saying is not true and honestly it s sad. I hope your scam gets made and people stop shopping at your establishment!

Took my walk behind mower to get repaired bc it was sitting out for months. *carb assembly *new filter *new spark plug *drained and refilled fuel. Paid $184. Machine worked fine the first time then stopped in the middle of me mowing my yard the second time. And never started after that. The mower is kept in a big dry shed when not in use. For all that work and money I would assume the machine would work fine for a while, not brake down within the first 30-40 days after being repaired. Apparently there s a 30 day warranty on services but it s not listed on their invoices and will not give me any break on new repair prices. For the reviews this place has, as a business owner, I would do anything to keep current customers happy.

I brought my push mower in for a simple belt change and when i got there i needed assistance in getting it off my truck so he help me. the woman behind the counter said it would be 40 for a diagnostic fee? I already knew what was wrong with it. I asked her how much would a ballpark example of how much a belt change would cost and she just gave me the run around and wouldn't tell me. I initially was going to let them do it but I said that they are trying to just get a 40.00 fee from me and if and when she decides to tell me how much it would cost then I would have to deal with whatever. So I went back and no more nice guy that helped me lift it. He figured that since I'm not going to just go with whatever price they give me that it's my problem now. Jerks!

Very knowledgeable. Purchased a part for my elderly neighbor's generator to repair before the storm. They went through their inventory and found exactly what I need. They also ordered extra repair parts just in case the part I purchased did not work and they called me to let me know they have them already in stock without me even asking. Read this is the 3rd or 4th time I've purchased parts from this company and they have succeeded my expectations every time. Highly recommended

I have always purchased from this place but this time I purchased a chain saw and it was leaking oil I went back to them so they can fix it. When I got it back, it was still leaking oil I went back to the store so they can do something about it again they said it's suppose to be like that. This has never happened to any other chain saw that I have brought. I am never purchasing another item from them again.

I purchased another chainsaw at their shop today. I was impressed with the service and knowledge of the sales associates. I would recommend them to anyone in need of lawn or tree equipment.

Again leaving a bad review because they will add charges at the end and say what you prepaid for was a "estimate" which they didn't . I asked what it would cost, they told me x amount , i paid x amount. The " estimate" should have estimated another 115 bucks to the original charge and if you add charges, isn't it wise to let the customer know when you call them to pick your mower up? And will be charging you more by the way? Suprise. Nope they don't! Don't do business with shady ppl like this.

I brought my craftsman lawnmower to this shop to be repaired. I was told that the carburetor needed to be replaced and the blade needed to be sharpened. After the shop having the mower for a good month my husband went to pick it up. He brought it home and attempted to to mow our lawn but the mower would not even start. My husband took it back to the shop and they told him it was the carburetor and to top it off the blades were never sharpened but we paid 100.00 for the repairs that were never done. My husband left the mower there again to actually be repaired which they did. I mowed my backyard a few days ago and for the first time and it worked fine. Today I attempted to mow my front yard and the mower started making a knocking sound. I rounded the corner and the blade and bolts flew off!! My husband contacted the shop and the woman at the counter stated well that shouldn't have happened. This does not seem like a responsible community repair shop!! Im grateful it was me pushing the lawnmower and not my son!! I would not recommend their services to anyone!!

At first, I reviewed this place as 5 star years ago. They weren't the cheapest place around but I liked trying to support small businesses. They seemed friendly. When I parted ways with their shop and services, I thought I'd leave it alone. Now, years after stopping using them at all, I'm still finding out ways I was done wrong by Holiday Mower. The latest is I took a hedge trimmer in to be serviced at a different Stihl dealership. What they found was that there was a warranty claim on the hedge trimmer within less than a year of my purchase. Holiday Mower collected on the warranty claim but never performed the repair I'm told and was shown. This falls directly similar to my experiences before when I decided to quit going there.Perhaps I was unlucky. Read other reviews or ask around.

After eight week of having my Rider mower and being overcharged. I was given an amount, paid half so they can start the work, when they finally call me to pickup it was 400 more then the outstanding balance, I paid them, so I can get my mower back and here it is not even 4 weeks having my mower back and it doesn't work . Stay clear of this business.

I bought a new demo Hustler from Holiday Mower a while ago, it had 13 hours on it. I could have purchased a new one with an extra set of blades and a free first oil change for $200 more. I wanted to keep my business with a local shop so I bought it from Holiday. I purchased the oil and filter from them to do the required service to the engine. I also bought an extra set of blades when the original ones needed sharpening. I rotate them out so the mower is not down waiting on blades to be sharpened. Today I took one set in to be sharpened and they charged me $18.75 and took them into the back. After about 30 minutes they went into the back to check on the status and told me they were pretty dull and it would be a little longer. After another 30 minutes I saw the owner and the mechanic go out front to help another customer. When they returned the owner came out and asked the girl behind the counter who sent the blades back to be sharpened, she said she did and she asked the tech if they were ok to sharpen. The owner went into the back and brought my blades back out. He told me the blades were shot and they would not sharpen them. I said I didn't know that, but his "tech" had already sharpened two blades and one edge of the third without telling me anything. He then walked into the back. I asked for a refund since they were not able to do what I had already paid for. The girl at the counter went to the back and returned and told me the owner was not going to give me a refund. I asked again for my refund and she did not respond. Well so much for trying to keep local small business opened. It doesn't say much for a paid professional "tech" that can't even tell if blades can be sharpened or not. It also doesn't say much for an owner that will loose a steady customer for $18.75 worth of his technician's poor judgment that had no parts involved. I will never recommend anyone here for any type of business. I will drive a longer distance to purchase my next mower or for a repair facility that will treat their customers fairly and admit if they make a mistake. Read the other reviews and BEWARE!!! of Holiday Mowers

Like many others, I dropped off my Lawn Boy self propelled for tune up and service estimate for repair. I paid $30.00 for the estimate. They had my mower for 3 days. It was running and all wheels workingWhen I dropped it off. I had just cut my grass with it. But it needed a tune up and new belt on the self propelled. They told me it would cost over $373 to repair plus tax. I could buy more than 20 different brand new self propelled lawn mowers for $300. Completely ridiculous. I asked for a copy of the repair estimate that I paid $30 for. They told me they don't give out their repair estimates. I said this is what I paid for. So the girl behind the counter hand wrote a list of items with only the total of $373 on a price of paper with no break down. Then she told me when I tried to roll my mower out to my truck that the wheels are locked up and the mower cannot be pushed. They destroyed the back wheels so they no longer work and the mower is now useless. When they did the estimate they ruined my mower and could care less when I told the girl at the counter. MY ADVICE STAY AWAY !!! As many other one star ratings. This place lacks common sense. They obviously do not care about their customers. They could have told me that it was not worth fixing withoutTaking my $30 in a few minutes. They could have told me up front that they charge $85 per hour for labor but they did not. Had they been honest and fair upfront, I may have purchased a new mower from them.Don't get ripped off. I had my veterans hat on and they totally ruined my mower and charged me $30 for the estimate. And never apologized.STAY AWAY !!First and last visit. Never again.

Drop my generator off to be checked over because it was starting hard. The girl at the desk called us when it was ready and said that they broke the pull cord because the pull cord was being caught on something. My wife who has a bad shoulder can start it with no problems. When I picked up my generator I wanted to speak to a mechanic, the service advisor said that she recommended it be put on choke twice before it was started. I was told that they don't let anybody speak to the mechanics. I had some mechanical questions. Again she said that nobody can speak to a mechanic there, she can answer any question that there is. I told her that she was not the mechanic that worked on it and I wanted to speak to the mechanic, and she told me that that was not policy. I did lawn service for 22 years and at the John dealership in New Port Richey and at the dealership in Clearwater they always let me speak to the mechanic because the service writer at the desk was not the mechanic and didn't know about the engine that was being worked on. Terrible customer service will never go there again. I also noticed that on the lower reviews that have bad ratings, they get on there and in their words "berate" everybody for what they do wrong. This girl told my husband she felt like he'd "berated" her when he asked to speak to a mechanic. I thought that was our prerogative as a consumer to be able to speak to the person working on the equipment. I guess not I guess it's only what they want to do.on every review it looks like that they're getting back on and telling the customers that they were the ones that were wrong instead of saying we're sorry you had this experience please come back in so we can try to resolve it but it's always the customer's fault and not their fault I guess. And it still takes 4 or 5 pulls to get it started after you fixed it (as it wasn't started in his presence there when he picked it up). So by talking to the mechanic who actually works on the stuff ( I was a service writer for a Pontiac dealership for 10 years and I built and drove race cars for 15 years that still didn't mean I knew everything) he would have been more satisfied by talking with the actual mechanic.

If I were you I would run far, far, far away from this place! Compare Holiday Mower shop's $60 estimate fee to other local shops of just $20.00. I wonder why they charge a high estimate fee, is it because people most likely leave to go elsewhere once they receive their inflated unfair market value costs to do repairs. Beware of their undisclosed fees such as battery installation (labor) of a bargain price of just only $35.00. It takes me two minutes to change out a lawnmower battery, at their rate, I'd be charging $1,050 per hour. A complaint actually brought the cost down by half to about $18. Well, so what's $18, oh just over $500 per hour.Don't try to dispute any cost such as the labor to install a battery or the service manager who doesn't understand how to deal with a frustrated customer will get rude and throw insults. If you're set back by her rude insults, don't ask to speak to the owner, it's like requesting to speak to the pope, not going to happen folks! If you finally give up and choose to pay and not settle a dispute, don't hand over a credit card, debit card or check at this point they will claim they don't trust you won't cancel the transaction (never thought of doing so, but interesting), and which most likely will require you to leave and come back, just to inconvenience you.I'm sure that the mechanics do a good job, all the mechanics were very professional helping get my mower in and out of my trailer. David, is very polite and handles customers much, much more better than Courtney. She has some work to do in the 'hospitality' department.Look for the local competitors, they are out there, they've been in business much longer and they will ask much less of your wallet! Is that courney reviewing her own shop below with 5 stars?? Wow, looks just like her!

Took an engine to them that was stalling after a few minutes of use.Still under factory warranty. Paid 70 bucks for a "diagnostic fee". Was told I needed a new carb, 2 fuel lines(I only have 1 approx. 8"), 2 spark plugs(again I only have 1-not sure where they were sticking the other one), air cleaner(which was just replaced), valve adjustment and oil change. All coming to over $300 and none of it was covered under warrant. Based on their professional dignostics, told them to go ahead with the work and paid for it, in full. Was told the carb was back ordered and would be several weeks before it would come in and to pick up my machine until then. Got home and looked at the engine myself and found a found a ground wire that was worn through and shorting out. Fixed the bad wire and the engine ran perfectly with no stalls for several hours and is still running perfectly afer over 30 hrs of use. Called Courtney and told her what I found and to cancel the carb(which still had not been shipped) She stated that it was impossible and the order could not be stopped. It was the same day she ordered it and part was still back ordered and hadn't shipped. I told her that I did not want them to do any of the work and wanted a refund. She said she couldn't give me a refund until she spoke with the owner who she stated was never around and very hard to get a hold of. The owner is her husband by the way. After 2 days and no response I went back to the shop and was told that they still would not issue me a refund for the parts that were not giving to me and the labor for installing them which was never done! I didn't even want a refund for the "professional diagnostic fee" which was the ONLY thing that they had done. Even though they totally missed diagnosed the engine and not one thing they were charging me for would have fixed it. Finally had to contact my credit card company and file a dispute for the charges. Stay far away from this shop. read the other reviews and you'll see that I am not the only one they have tried to scam. Bottom line is that they WILL lie to you, they WILL try to sell you parts that you don't need And they WILL rip you off.

Had to have my stihl chainsaw looked at for a broken oil pump. I have no issues with their diagnosis fee as it will be applied to the repair. No issue that they wanted to charge $40 less than what I paid for the chainsaw brand new. Knowing I can get it done somewhere else at half the price, I simply asked for my chainsaw back and they can keep the diagnosis fee...My issue and reason for this 1 star review is the fact they handed me back my chainsaw torn apart, parts/peices in a bag. I politely asked for my chainsaw to be returned the way I brought it in, all attached. They said it would take them about half an hour and would have to charge me another $35.The concern I had was they never called to ask if it was okay for them to dissemble the entire chainsaw because if they did, this would be a different story. The fact they dissembled the chainsaw for their diagnosis check and refused to reassemble my chainsaw makes no sense. I already paid an diagnosis fee which should include any labor for dissembling and reassembly. If the coustmer refuses to take on their price on repairs, it should be a mutual understanding and a simple thank you for coming in. Return the product the way it was dropped off. Simple.Everyone was polite until I refused their repair price. After that, I was treated with so much disrespect just because I wanted my chainsaw back the way I dropped it off. If you are looking to have any repairs done, beware.

Today I went into holiday mower and wasn't looking to buy anything, but was curious with some questions about what they had and what might be the best fit for what I needed .The young lady was very helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable and went over my options andI was very impressed with her knowledgeI then decided to buy a mower and other equipment .she made the buying process Very easy getting approved in less than 60 seconds..Ended up walking out with a brand new torro and other equipment and couldn't be happier with my purchase and experience.I'll be buying any new equipment I ever need only from holiday mower and recommend them to anyone looking for a good mower shopThanks again ....

I had a horrible experience dealing with this company. I paid over $30 for my lawn mower to get looked at. After 2 weeks I received an estimate for $175 to get my brand new lawn mower repaired. At that point I was not going to proceed with repairs since I can get a new machine for that price. When I went to pick up my lawn mower the owner had disposed of it with no notice!!!! Then there is no way to speak to the owner Rick. Customer service sucks. The girl have me attitude and does not try to solve any problems except for I ll leave a note for rick . A note is not going to give me my machine back so hoping this review saves everyone a headache. Do not come here! Expensive and bad service.

I have had nothing but terrific service before and after the sale. I find them knowledgeable of the product. I was informed when purchasing the Husqvarna brand if you purchase the pre mixed fuel it doubles your warranty. What's not to like about that. I looked them up instead of going to a big box store, glad I did. Since I have owned a service based business for 24 years I'm nearly impossible to please because of what standards of service I deliver. Lastly how many businesses do you recall where they remember your name when you talk to them???????? She does.

Not as if there isn't room for me improvement but I got pretty fast and good experience. The staff were much cleaner and professional then I guess I was expecting from a mower/small engine repair shop. They answered my questions well enoigh and handled my husqvarna Warrenty perfectly. There were one or two communication issues but they take very well to clarification and got the job done quickly none the less.I don't love the down payment system but it goes towards your repair otherwise and Warrenties get you the deposit back completely.I will be returning over all a pretty good experience.

Took my john deer riding mower after 2 phone calls specifically explaining what i needed they didn't order the parts right away so i ended up waiting weeks then when i got the phone call to pay i paid what was suppose to be the total which was well over 300 bucks then the day of arrival they tell me " oh by the way your balance is 115 something dollars more . Since when can you just add money at the end of the process without even telling me i would have to come up with another 115 dollars when i already paid over 300 something to do the work. I do not recommend shady businesses like this and will not be returning just because they will add money to the ending result without even letting you know. .

Very expensive. Brought my small push Craftsman lawn mower in for repair wound up costing me $33 for them to look at it and then they wanted to charge me $191 to repair it the lawn mower isn't even worth that much so I asked him while it was there to sharpen the blade and they said it would be a $10 fee for removing and replacing the blade and $8 to sharpen well I pick my lawn mower up and noticed that the blade was sharpened but it was never removed from the lawn mower then again giving them $10 for nothing bad business. So I'm officially $43 in the hole and my lawnmower is still broke.

I've been to two other lawn equipment shops in the NPR area, and I can say with hands down Holiday Mowers is the best and honest shop around. They are very knowledgeable, responsive to your needs, and not trying to rip off their customers. Great job. Looking forward to continuing doing business with them.

Called in to get a repair estimate, was told it is $65 to give it a diagnostic and that is applied to any repair work done on the mower. The problem is that the mower just needs a simple seat safety switch replaced which is maybe 20 min tops for somebody with experience (which is not me) and the switch is like $15 to buy so basically the vibe I got from my call was that if your problem isn't large enough to cost you more than the base $65 then they're not interested in your business.Maybe I am mistaken about it all but my gut tells me I am not.
