Submitting for friend - T. MotolaI was directed to Dirks Auto Service in Crystal River following a disappointing experience with my older (2001) Corvette elsewhere.Upon arrival, I found solace in the sight of other vintage Corvettes. "All these people can't be mistaken," I thought.Clay promptly attended to me when I arrived for my 8am appointment.He was forthright in explaining that my issue might involve multiple layers and advised me to anticipate at least 2 or more hours of work.Later in the day, as promised, he phoned to outline my car's window issue. He also clarified that he had done his best considering the subpar parts and service I had previously received at another establishment.I truly valued Clay's expertise and honesty. As an older woman, trust is paramount to me.I have full confidence in returning to Dirks Auto Service for future work and wholeheartedly recommend it to others seeking top-notch service!It was a pleasure to experience such professionalism and care for both my car and myself.

Dirk's fixed the rear brakes on my 2005 Honda Pilot - rotors, calipers and pads (tons of rust, Michigan car). Clay insisted the brakes must be fixed "right". I felt like he was going to hold my car hostage if I didn't agree. Everything that needed to be done was clearly explained as to why it needed to be done. 5 stars!

We have used Dirk's twice this year for repairs needed on our 2005 Ford F-150 pickup. Clay has been nothing but professional and the work was performed in a very timely manner. We had some car trouble while on vacation in Crystal River and the owner Clay fit us in and got us back on the road within an hour. Amazing service and super helpful. Would definitely take my car there again. Pricing seemed very fair and you can tell that Clay cares about the local community.

Took our 2015 chevy equinox because the engine was shaking. Clay got it fixed the next day at a super reasonable price! Highly recommend this place!!

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCEafter being told by the local Chevrolet dealer my 91 Vette needed a new motor,Clay told me that , not only did I not need a new motor, that the work the Chevrolet dealer said they did to check my issue was not done, and he showed me how he knew this, and that they did not remove parts to diagnose my issue.He replaced 2 parts, well under the cost of a new motor, and found an added feature needing repair ( not related to the original complaint) Clay worked with me to repair the problem, and even let me shop for the parts on my own to counter the costs.He was professional, and quite educational as to what I needed and what should be done.My Vette is running great, ( no replacement motor needed)....In my book, Dirks Auto is the place to go for all your auto service, especially Corvette services. Quality of work, speed of repairs and customer service are beyond exceptional. Clay gave me the best and worse case scenario for my little lady. Did what he needed at a price below his original estimate and was 2 days ahead of schedule. I couldn't possibly ask for better.I highly recommend them.

I am pretty much a Gear Head and so I take care of most of my auto maintenance. But when it's out of my knowledge or capabilities, I take it to Clay @ Dirk's. There's NEVER been anything I've taken to him that he couldn't fix. And timely and fairly as well. I don't see him often but when I do, he greets me with a smile and a "Can Do" attitude !Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto tire replacement

Was just on the phone with him and was nothing but rude! Asked about an "already diagnosed" axle repair quote and was told he needed to dismantle the axle first to give me a quote an a ring and pinion replacement. Lol

Dirks Auto Clinic in my opinion is the most honest and fair garage around citrus county. I have never had any issues with Dirks. Clay always gives the best and straight scenario about repairs. you might not always like the bad news, but he won't repair and let a car go out the door unless it's completely safe. Sure there have been times that the cost wasn't what i was hoping to hear, but in the end it makes sense to repair it right the first time than having to go back and do it a few times. I have sat in the waiting room and watched customers come and go. Some are not happy with what Clay tells them about cost. Clay won't just "rig it to get it going. he either repairs it correctly or not at all. If you want your vehicle repaired the right way, I promise you Dirks is the garage to go to! He will do all he can to get it done on time or earlier than promised. and NO I am not related to him in any way. just a customer that appreciates a honest garage these day's !

Always nice to find a good honest mechanic that knows what they are doing. Dropped off my truck for a bad radiator. They identified a couple of other maintenance issues as well and had my truck repaired as promised.As repairs are needed I'll definitely be returning here. Thanks again

I was referred to DIrk's by a friend since I'm new to the area after our Honda Odyssey blew up. Clay was extremely professional and honest. Happy to know we now have a repair shop to use in the future. I also found other employees at the shop to be friendly and professional too. I'd recommend Dirk's to anyone.... Lower bill than the estimate. Fit me in to his busy day last minute. One and done...no need to readdress any issues which is a nice change to other places. Seems like they fix something and suddenly it does it again. This place is top notch.

My note to Clay follows:I just want to thank you for repairing the AC on my Corvette. I was unsure where to take it, as it was out of warranty and a trip to the dealer would no doubt prove very expensive, and a trip to an independent might prove problematic if they weren't able to handle the GM specific side of the problem.You were recommended to me by Stevie as an honest and GM/Chevy experienced tech. I couldn't be happier! Not only was your estimate very fair, but when I picked the car up the actual charge was considerably less. and you used genuine GM parts to boot. I have already recommended you to others, and you can bet that any non-warranty work that I need done in the future will be done by you.

We found ourselves stranded in Crystal River on our road trip up north when a caliper started locking up. It was almost 4:30pm so every shop we stopped at or called not only would not see us then, but didn't have any time to see us until late the next day or next week. Clay was the only one who understood our situation and went out of his way to get the parts needed first thing the next morning so we could be back on our way ASAP. He gave me a quote and stuck to that, had us in at 8am and finished in 2 hours as promised. He was honest and the work was done well with quality parts, and the work even came with a guarantee. Not impressed with my experience here. They were a bit rude in general. Brought in my car for an estimate and was told by the manager it would be well over $1,000 to fix. Took it down the road and got a second estimate for the same issue and was told less than $400 to fix it. Do not feel they are trustworthy. I was told that the issues Dirk's stated were wrong with my vehicle were false by the second mechanic. Do not recommend.

This is the kind of business that others need to model theirs after. Upfront and honest.I was referred to Dirk's by Joe Hudson Collision of Inverness. I had Dirk's disassemble and inspect the 4 axels on our 5th trailer. This included replacing the seals, inspecting the bearings and electric brakes. Quick turnaround and reasonable price.

My parents used Dirks for their car. They spent $3,000 on an A/C repair that failed within less than a year. When they took it back to Dirks seeking a resolution and were told that one of the replaced parts must be faulty and it was my parents problem and they should go to the business that Dirks bought the part from to get them pay to for the repair.How is this acceptable? Dirks did the work, it failed, they should fix at no charge. I have never experienced such an unethical practice.In my opinion Dirks cannot be trusted and they have taken advantage of my parents.Save your money and find another mechanic.Service: Air conditioning

I called for a price on a long block motor swap. Unfortunately, cost versus vehicle value wasn't really doable. I did get a fair quote & Clay called me to follow up. Very professional & will keep them in mind for future work. They came recommended by a friend that has used them previously.

My car overheated on my way to work. Not only did the serviceman provide me with the contact information to have my car towed to the shop, but he also was honest with me re what he thought was the problem. He referred me to the dealership rather than risk wasting my time and money when he wasn t sure re the cause of the problem.

My daughters car broke down in Crystal River and it was towed to Dirk s Auto. He told her the battery was bad (cracked and leaking) but it was only 2 months old. The connector cable was also bad. He didn t want to give her the battery back (because he knew there was nothing wrong with it) and wanted to charge her a $45 core charge to give her battery back. When she got back home she took the battery back to where she purchased it from because it was under warranty but there was nothing wrong with it.The bill came to $737 which was probably double what it should have been. I feel like Dirk s Auto ripped her off because she was from out of state and at his mercy to fix her car. Shame on them.
