100% recommended Nichols for automotive repairs, or if you are in the market for a used vehicle. No Slick- Used- Car- Salesmen ,there; just honest and reliable hometown people willing to go out of their way to help others.Scott (mechanic) is knowledge, friendly and helpful. Gary takes the time to go over mundane details even when during the worst of Mondays.5 STARS ALL THE WAY

They went above and beyond to help me. I was traveling alone when my truck just died on me. I was left stranded on the side of the road a long way from home by myself around 2 a.m.. They came and towed my truck back to the shop. Allowed me to stay with my vehicle until they opened up. Even though they were very busy they got me back up and going in no time. Their prices were more than fair and great service.

Excellent service on not one....but both a car and a truck within a 24 hour time span. Moved here a year ago and have finally found an honest establishment. We will continue to give our service to them. Gary was fantastic.

Wrecked my car on the side of the road 5 minutes away from Bruce. And they towed my car from Bruce. Idk why these people out of every other (and closer) tow places, towed my car but when I called to see what it would take to get my vehicle back and they told me that just for towing the vehicle it was over $600, not including storage fees, labor, and etc. Even when highway patrol told us we were able to get the car ourselves as long as it was done asap. So we got out to the wreck site before the 12 hour mark of the wreck only to see the car had already been towed. Ridiculous to pay over $700 just to get your car back.

..I would not recommend this place under any circumstances after my experience with them. I spent almost $400 for them to fix the problem as to why my van would not start then got it back the same way (wouldn't start) after they had it for 10 days. Then, when I asked them what the problem is with it not starting, I was told (with a real nasty attitude) not to bring it back to them anymore only now, I was out the money and my van still won't start. If they couldn't fix it, then what did I pay all that money for? They are absolutely the worst auto repair shop it has been my misfortune to ever use for an auto repair and I absolutely recommend you bring your vehicle to anyone else but them.

For anyone needing an auto repair service, I cannot emphasize enough that you look elsewhere other than Nichols Auto Repair and Towing. After spending almost $400 and being without my only form of transportation for 10 days, I was told that they were through working on it and not to bring it to them anymore. Assuming that it must have been a very difficult repair, I was at least glad that they had fixed the problem as to why my van would not start, or so I was lead to believe. However, the van was brought back to me in the same state as it was before they allegedly worked on it and still would not start, not to mention that my checking account was just about cleaned out. I'm a retired Vietnam War veteran and live on a very modest income so, I didn't have the resources to bring it to another mechanic. Not to mention that I was given nothing but attitude when I questioned their methods of doing business. I expect no special treatment then any other person who is in need of a good mechanic. All I can say is that you won't find one at Nichols and you can expect to pay even if they fail to fix your vehicle. It's a sad thing when there are people like this who will take advantage of unsuspecting customers that have no qualms employing such shady business practices.

Outstanding customer service! Had to stop on our way home from vacation because of a loud noise coming from our wheel. They worked us in and got us back on the road in less than an hour!

Open-aired parking area. Sometimes a little crowded, but employees will help you to get out, if needed. Office is roomy, air-conditioned and pleasant. Owner is usually always present, on site. Always willing to work with you, any way he can. Owner and employees are friendly, helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and willing to be of service. Drink machine on site with good, cold beverages. Great business.

I had a vehicle recently snap its serpentine belt, and a good friend suggested I try Nichols. Can't say enough good things about these folks-- they came in short order and towed my truck (reasonable towing fee by the way), diagnosed the issue, found a second issue with another belt that was way overdue in need of replacement, and had me back on the road the next morning- and at a good price. Nice to find good folks.

Car door not locking.On a travel assignment here for Covid-19 first responder. But upon returning from lunch, my car door could not close, let alone locking. I googled mechanics near me and just drove to Nichols Auto Repair. Upon arrival, Gary showed up. I was upfront with Gary since I am out of state and I didn't want to waste his time. Gary diagnosed the problem, fixed it. And, asked for no payment. "We Are Good, absolutely no charge," Larry said. Now you talk about great people... Blessed they are in my capabilities!

They towed my truck from my house to their shop. Very friendly and personable people. Fixed multiple problems on my truck within 2 days, and personally delivered it back to me at my house. I meant to give them an excellent review at that time, but let it slip my mind, until I tried to help someone who was stuck in the mud, got stuck myself, a long with another truck who had also stopped to try to help... and all 3 of us were stuck. I called Nichols, they showed up in 10 mins., pulled us all out, and didnt charge me anything at all. I would very highly recommend Nichols Auto Repair and Towing to anybody needing automotive repairs or towing services in the chipley area.

Called and checked to see if they could replace the rear bearings in our car. They told us they would have to look at it and then they would call and let us know. After several weeks, not a word. Went by to see what was going on with it. Was told they had a couple of other vehicles ahead of ours. Several more weeks went by, still hadn't heard from them. Went by again. Saw a number of new vehicles there to be worked on. And again, given the same excuse. And was also told that they didn't know at that time if they could do the work requested but they would let us know in a few days. Almost 3 months passed and nothing. Enough was enough, went to pick our car up and take it somewhere else. Only to find out that they had left the ignition switch on and totally killed the battery. It was at that point when they finally told us that they couldn't do the work after all. Not sure how they are with other work but can't say I'll be going back any time soon.

i would never do business here again. i brought an 02 camery from here. didn't last 3 miles payed cash for it it over heated. claim it was fixed ran hot again. they put a fairley new engine in it with a new head. not long after i heard a knocking noise told me it was my tensioner i payed for that. few days later motor seized up. made a call to mr nichols. long story short he wasnt gonna fix it. never again will i do businees with him again. great guy good personality but when it comes to thing like this unacceptable.

We had an alternator go out on the way home from the beach and Gary and his guys took care of it and has us back on the road ASAP! They definitely helped make the best out of a bad situation. Thank you!

I called them about doing a job told me they call me back waited 3 hours called back was told guy gone to lunch he will call you as soon as he get back still no call if your word no good then you can not be trusted
