If I could give 10 stars I would!! Plenty of parking. Private restaurant beach on Captiva Island. Self service to full service. Indoor or patio dining. Casual attire.I ordered the special of the day. Swordfish with capers and garlic sauce, fresh green beans and au gratin potatoes with a glass of Riesling wine. Excellent .My husband has a different palette and ordered a super chili dog, chips and Cole slaw. He says it was perfect, just the way he likes it. We will be back!!!!Parking: Parking is for paying patrons at the restaurant only.

Best atmosphere on the island! Inside and beach dining. Some table are actually on the beach (those you self sreve...no waiter). The staff is friendly and attentive. They may play the ketchup prank on you... ha! Prices for food and drink are very reasonable for the great location. There are a few shops amd other eateries next to them. Parking can be tight so carpool if you go. A must stop if you're on Captiva!Parking: Limited parking but you're right off the beach. Carpool recommend. Free parking for patrons.

The Mucky Duck is a cool restaurant on Captiva Island. Parking is a bit difficult but the view is where it is at. They offer full service tables inside and out. On their patio they have a few picnic tables that you can opt for self service. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, I would recommend the fried Calamari and Chicken Wings. Overall a good experience and a restaurant with a fantastic view. I would recommend coming around sunset for spectacular sunset views.

Everything about our visit to Mucky Duck turned out great. They have a great location with a marvelous view of the Gulf of Mexico and serve up great meals that the whole family loved. Their crunchy grouper sandwich and seafood pastas from the Specials Board today were excellent. We were concerned when we pulled in about finding parking, but there was an attendant whose job was to keep the non-customers from using their lot and showed me a place I could park that I would have assumed was too small because it was on the end. Parking border the beach itself, so without the attendant, beachgoers may try parking here. My car fit, so we parked and went in. The inside was small too but we got a table without waiting. We ordered and were served by a friendly and efficient waitress. She checked in with us frequently as we dined and kept our drinks filled. A tip for those who visit that are taller than 6'2 or so - Watch Your Head while walking through the place, many ceilings are very low for tall folk! Also, check out the place's history by looking at the walls, ceiling and menu, and find the reason some call it the Lucky Duck. It's a remarkable story. We plan to return to Mucky Duck. It seems to be the type of place where everything on the menu is really good.

After a day on Sanibel, we decided to check out Captiva as well. We literally stumbled upon the Muckey Duck while looking for beach access. What a find!! It was a great setting as they have rocking chairs facing the beach which provides a perfect spot to have a cocktail while we waited for our table. The dining room decor is quirky, the staff was friendly and accommodating! The food-I had the crabcakes and hubs had the bacon wrapped shrimp- was delicious!! High end food in a casual setting.

Loved this place and even got to watch a beautiful sunset. Duck l'orange & sauce were delicious as were the green beans and garlic cut up potatoes. Would have thought about getting the grouper sandwich or meal but seemed overpriced.Parking: Not enough spots so had to circle around until someone pulled out. 2 cars were parked where it wasn't parking.

What a pleasant surprise. I had one of the specials, grilled Mahi in lemon butter sauce with sun dried tomatoes and spinach, green bean carrot side and garlic new potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. One of the nicest fish dishes I've had in a very long time. Friend had shrimp sampler combo, same sides and enjoyed every bite. Good service and an exceptional meal! Smack dab on the beach in a very old building. Perfect island memory.

Had a great time at the Mucky Duck. Came around sunset to eat, obviously the busiest time, but you can grab a drink and watch the sunset while you wait. Parking could be a challenge, you just have to wait until someone leaves. Looks to clear up after sunset. Waited about an hour for our table. We had the seafood platter, Atlantic Salmon, and the Filet Mignon and they were all great. We all enjoyed our meals.Glad to see the island recovering little by little after the hurricane.

Rude and prejudice staff!Went to this restaurant with friends and family for just dessert and coffee. We had called ahead to ask if we could come and there was no mention of "we usually don't just serve desserts".So we got to the restaurant and we asked to wait in the bar waiting area. The guy who appeared to be the manager had such a sarcastic behavior he simply wouldn't look at us at first and then finally told us it would be a 15-20 minute wait (with a smirk on his face).Other patrons were walking in and were being seated after a few minutes of waiting. After almost 25 minutes of waiting we asked how much longer and he had the same answer..."you have to wait, we usually don't just serve dessert and coffee".No where on the website or menu does it say that....but we kept patient and ignored his smirking face. His attitude was almost discriminating, along with him a female manager was doing exactly the same, ignoring us and pretending to look busy by not even responding to our question. It was an unbelievable scene we couldn't believe what we were seeing.I wanted to confront but waited to see how far they would go to make us wait so we would walk out....we wanted to see the level of their discriminating behavior...and it was appalling. There were empty tables and we even suggested they seat the kids separately and adults on another table....but that was not done and the clown of the manager suggested we take our food and sit outside where there were no lights and it was cold...again an unbelievable response from this male host with a fake smile.Kids had their mind set on desserts...So after almost an hour or waiting we ordered our food to go.Not an ounce of remorse or apology from the two hosts or managers! The tip line on the receipt make me laugh....I put a nice big zero for tip.Desserts were put together in a sloppy manner with no flavor. We had an amazing experience at every other restaurant while on vacation in Captiva and Sanibel Island except this sorry excuse of a shack with prejudice staff who were probably trained this way and feel it's totally OK to treat paying customers with such blatant discriminating behavior. We visit the island every year with friends and will never go back to this establishment.Earlier the same day we had lunch and dinner at RC Otter's and the staff was friendly and welcoming with delicious food.

We went to Mucky Duck for a late lunch on Mother s Day. They said it would be an hour wait, which we were fine with it was Mother s Day after all! Boy were we surprised, 30 mins! That was our wait time! We had time to use the potty and get settled in the lawn chairs they provided to soak in the amazing view and our name was called. We were shocked and thrilled! We ordered oysters, see pics, they were super fresh and chilled perfectly! Super yummy! Both my 8 year old daughter and mother tried them for the first time ever and loved the oysters too! We all pretty much ordered the fish and chips which was also cooked good and super yummy. The coleslaw was out of this world as I don t like it too drenched in mayonnaise. The tarter sauce had a great dill flavor too. But what made the experience is what Mucky Duck is known for that view! It s so wonderful that Mucky Duck had next to zero damage and it was great to get back on the island and soak it in post Ian! We will be back!

Restaurant is in the best spot to catch the beautiful beach sunset! They have both indoor and outdoor dining. Staff were super friendly. Food was good and their rum punch is pretty tasty! Parking can be tough as their parking lot fills up but they do offer a parking attendant that offers assistance. Definitely add this to your dining spots if you are in the area!

A Captiva icon! I ve been eating/drinking here since the early 1980 s. So glad they were mostly spared by hurricane Ian. Excellent Crunchy Grouper Sandwich, although a little pricey at $27. Mucky Duck Red Lager is refreshing with just a smidgen of bitterness. Service ok, but I observed servers on the patio coming out and going to one table in their section, then going back inside without even glancing to see if their other tables need something. Very inefficient. You really have to watch for and wave the servers down. Extensive and fairly priced beverage menu. There are few Adirondack chairs on the beach where you can relax while waiting for your table when they are busy, grab drinks from the bar inside and get yourself on island time before your meal. Very friendly parking lot attendant helps take the stress out of finding a spot. Highly recommend!

One of the orders was a seafood combo. The clam strips were hard & over fried. When we told the waiter he commented that the chef wasn't going to be happy that we were returning them!?! He came back with a small plate of the same clam strips. Our shrimp wasn't deveined, either. We spent over $112.00 for 2 people & we did have appetizers & 2 beers, you'd think that it would have been better.
