By far the best place to go in SW Florida. The water views are spectacular, often dolphins or a manatee are right off the docks.BUT even better than that this staff provides the most amazing service and every item in the menu is delicious. The freshest seafood, amazing drinks and a great energy vibe! When we have visitors, this is our #1 destination by boat and car . We have tried them all, Green Flash is the best!!

Location, ambiance and excellent main courses made The Green Flash a 5 star experience. Dinner for two on Captiva Friday night, we made reservations and were seated promptly. We had the hot flash shrimp as an appetizer, amazing sauce great florida gulf shrimp with a nice crunch. My drink the man o war at 22$ was properly strong and tasty. Our main courses were a little slow to come out but cooked to perfection. I had the triple tail with mango salsa, wife had grouper cafe de Paris, both thoroughly enjoyed. The view and the ambiance are also hard to beat. Only complaints were the service was a little slow and side dishes could have been more for the price of the meal. Will definitely return.

The Green Flash is absolutely awesome. Michael and his staff are always top-notch. Great service all the time that compliments the wide verity of great menu items/dishes. We are locals and try to dine at the Green Flash once a week. Great water views from the upstairs dining room and a very nice patio for those who enjoy sitting outside by the water. You may travel to the Green Flash via automobile or boat. They have a very nice and large doc for boaters.

Yum! Claudine was a great server very attentive :) started out with the dirty flash cocktail, which was good and nice to have blue cheese stuffed olives. For appetizers we got the oysters romanoff which we all like and the half pound of the stone crab claws (small, but good)and for an entree I got the strider shrimp with crab, which I really liked! Also the restaurants has a great view and bustling atmosphere. It was pretty loud, but I didn t mind

We ve visited Captiva many times and this was our first time going to The Green Flash. I can t believe it took us so long to stop by! Great service and fantastic food! Our waiter was friendly and efficient, the food was tasty and affordable. The Apple crumb cake was superb! The restaurant itself has the best view on Captiva. Today was the first of many visits to come.

My wife and I had dinner last evening for the second time this week. We returned because she raved about the coconut shrimp while I was enjoying my delicious grouper. We both had the coconut shrimp last night and she was correct it was fabulous. We split a salad, each had a glass of wine and a dessert for $135! I can t remember the last time we went out for under $150 and here on Captiva it s usually $225. We ll be back again Michael before we leave next month. PS-you were correct, Allison was an excellent server!Dietary restrictions: My wife has celiac, but there were plenty of gluten free options.

Loved Green Flash Restaurant in Captiva. Very Family oriented. Fabulous views of the water, the sunset skies. We had outdoor seating for dinner. It was chilly. They brought us heating lamps. Very thoughtful service. My Rib Eye Steak was excellent. Kids had fried fish and hot dogs. They loved their food. This is a relaxing, no-hurry spot for a delicious meal, views, services, atmosphere.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair access to indoor seating. Outdoor seating was down a level and didn't appear accessible for wheelchair.

Great place to stop by either by car or boat. Docks are free and there is decent car parking as well. Drinks were fun combinations but expensive. Staf was very friendly and helpful in case you have questions about the island or other places to visit. I side is a bit dated but the amazing views more than make up for it. No happy hour and high prices, we only stayed for a drink and continued on. I highly recommend checking them out though Parking: Boat docks are now open! And free if you dine with them.

This is a solid 4.5*. The food was great! The atmosphere was tropical and fun. The service was, as most places down here, slow. But our server had A LOT of tables....so not necessarily her fault. I would definitely recommend going by boat, as they had a lot of slips.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have an elevator to the upstairs dining.

Our 32-year-old son and daughter-in-law are visiting with a 7-month-old. We ve been to the Green Flash and know the food has improved since the hurricane. But we especially got them reservations for a table outside thinking it would be a relaxing evening out. The drinks took so long to arrive, the appetizers came first. They took a couple sips of their drink and entrees arrived. They were in and out in less than 40 minutes. This might be great at a less expensive restaurant, but you just wouldn t expect that at The Green Flash. They were grateful for any time out, but sadly, they felt so rushed we didn t hear much detail about the food. Posting hoping this is seen and note taken as we were so hoping for relaxing and lovely.Update: I received a call from Michael, manager of the Green Flash. He was so gracious and offered a gift certificate. Really above and beyond, especially during a busy Easter Week. Thank you, Michael! We will be back and so will those grown kids with certificate in hand.

This was our first time dining at the Green Flash. We have always gone to Mucky Duck in the past so we expected a similar menu. Food was good. The green flash sandwich (like the Captiva sandwich at MD) does not disappoint. However, our server honestly seemed like she didn t want to be at work. She wasn t friendly, she was rather cold and uninviting. My kids found a broken (shattered) Christmas ornament and they were trying to give it to her (to dispose of it) and she said oh you guys can play with it. What? Who tells children, a 6 and 4 year old, to play with a broken piece of glass or plastic? They were trying to do the right thing by not letting it sit around for someone to step on or be a hazard to animals. Seemed strange. I know everyone has good and bad days but it really was disappointing that she wasn t nice at all. She wasn t mean but she just wasn t the kindest server we ve ever encountered. We were a party of twelve, sat outside to not bother anyone, ordered drinks, entrees, and desserts. No one was loud or belligerent. But aside from the menu options and the comment to my kids she didn t talk to us at all.

One of the best seafood restaurants I have been to in the recent years. The quality of fish was outstanding. We were a group of 5 and ordered different dishes, everyone had commented on how excellent their dish was. The drinks were good too. The service was attentive and fairly efficient (they were quite busy). Highly recommended for the quality of food!

This is a great spot right on the water. We sat inside and the seating was comfortable. Our view of the water was amazing and we were even blessed with what appeared to be Manatee rolling around in the water during the duration of our lunch. We had fish tacos, shrimp and spinach salad and kids meatballs and linguine with red sauce. All of the meals were absolutely delicious and the beer was cold. Service was amazing and we were completely happy with our visit. An added unique bonus was the fact that there is a 2 way mirror in front of the urinals in the men's room. This looks out into the bar area and is below a TV so it appears that the folks at the bar are staring at you while you are using the facilities, haha! It is a silly touch that adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant in a safe yet fun way.Kid-friendliness: Kids meatballs and linguine were delicious as was the "virgin" strawberry daiquiri.

Overall, we weren t TOO impressed by the food here. It wasn t horrible but didn t leave much of an impression behind either. Of the ordered items, the conch chowder and the flash shrimp were the most impressionable. Our service on the other hand was top notch! Brian was our waiter and was ON IT! He made appropriate and great recommendations and was prompt and courteous. The environment was beautiful and serene! The no see-ums are always a pain, so I would suggest eating inside :)

My mother, sister and I dined here on a week night. The restaurant was busy even for a Tuesday so I would suggest reservations. The food was beyond delicious!! We ordered the Calamari, shrimp cocktail, Seafood Samplers and the entree with 1/2 lobster, shrimp and scallops. We all thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers we shared as well as our entrees. Andrew, our server, was very attentive. And the view over the water from the large windows was breathtaking! We look forward to going back during our next visit to Captiva!!

I was truly disappointed with my visit to Green Flash. Our server Donny could care less about us, he half heartedly greeted us brought us over bread and I kindly asked him for silverware. We didn t get silverware so we had to eat our bread and try to get butter on our bread by rolling the butter onto the bread. We had to ask for silverware, 3 times. He never asked if wanted drinks. So we had to ask him if we could order drinks. We ordered appetizers I have to say the raw oysters were delicious as were the artichokes. The pork Wellington was superb. We never were asked if wanted more drinks. We had to ask for dessert. We got our check and before even getting our desserts. Worst service I have ever received who brings out the check mind you wrong check since he missed one of the desserts before we get our desserts. He had to take back the check and bring us the correct one. I did leave him gratuity but I honestly didn t feel like he deserved it. The food was delicious but I am here for 8 days and I would not go back.

It's a beautiful place. The views are amazing. We had a nice table inside with a great view. The service was good and the staff very attentive. The food was okay. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and unfortunately they are not what I am used to. They were missing the crunchy bread crumbs on top so the stuffing was mushy and falling apart. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp which were pretty good. I gave it a 4 because the views were amazing.

So, unfortunately we didn't have a good experience for our first. We stopped in Sunday afternoon for a cocktail and potential dinner. We were seated immediately outside on a beautiful day in the outdoor bar area. We were the only ones seated in the bar area (4 top table) and the bar itself was empty. The bartender came over and got our drink orders and inquired if we needed food also. We were not given food menus so she said she would go get them. She brought back two of the drinks which were great and came back about 5 mins later with the third drink. The last drink, which was the Dirty Flash (Dirty Martini advertised with Blue Cheese Olives) came over about 5 minutes later in a clear plastic cup with no olives. When we asked about olives, she said she would go get them. During this time, we watched the table near us get up and leave complaining about the service. After their departure, another table near us received food but did not have plates or silverware, so the server took them from the table where the people were sitting that had left complaining about the service (yuck).Needless to say, the food menus came after we witnessed this, so we skipped on the food. The olives never came and were later discovered (regular olives in a plastic cup on bar) when we had to go to the bar to pay our $70 bill for for 4 drinks including a martini in a plastic cup. The bartender did offer the olives when we were paying but obviously that was too little, too late and more importantly the wrong olives. The location has so many good reviews that I have a hard time saying that we will not try again. I do believe that this was truly the fault of the bartender which is a very unfortunate experience to be our first.

Update since hurricane- haven't been since. Waiting for them to recover. The sunsets are great here. I love eating both inside and outside. Food is great and so is the service everytime. I like their t-shirts you can buy as well. The cups are great quality. Strong and flimsy. Convenient for the beach. The dock is a nice place to look at the water from but not when no seeums are around. The bar is well attended and they play sports on the tvs.

The Green Flash Restaurant and Bar has a very nice view. Inside and outside seating. The food was good. Servers ok.They have their own parking lot and seem to get quite busy at sunset. There was a bit of a wait even though we already had a reservation. Seemed to be telling everyone to go to the bar and wait whether they had a reservation or not.

This was our first time dinning at this restaurant. Arrived at 5pm with a party of 5 people and was promptly seated. We placed our drink orders along with an order of Oysters Rockerfeller and Fried Calamari. Drinks arrived and appetizers arrived 20 minutes later. The appetizers were just barely warm when they finally arrived. We then placed our dinner order and waited for over an hour before we had to flag down our server and ask where our meals were. We were told that the kitchen was backed up. That could not have been true since many larger parties arrived after us and were seated, served and paid for their meals. The restaurant was about 50% full the whole time we were there. Later our server came back and said that our order had been lost and they were making our meals. We stepped away from our table for about 5-7 minutes when the food arrived. The food looked great, however all of our meals were either room temperature or cold. We had ordered Stuffed Grouper, Grilled Swordfish and Atlantic Salmon. It seems that our meals had been made quite a long time ago and just not served. The manager told our server to comp us our first round of drinks and dessert. We didn't order cheap meals, and were spending $$$$ to eat there. This was not the experience we had expected. I don't like to write a negative review, however when you are spending hundreds of dollars on a dinner, you would expect what you are paying for.

Had a great lunch here looking out at the water and sunshine. Great food and drinks and service. I Had the tuna sandwich which was amazing and I could not eat it all. My husband had the crunchy grouper sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. Nice and moist on the inside and crisp outside. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back. Don t miss this gem. Btw our price per person looks high but that includes several drinks each that we enjoyed. Bartender is wonderful as well. Prices are reasonable. No complaints!

Nice place along the water for lunch or dinner. Varied menu so there's probably something for everyone. I had the Grouper sandwich, it was good. My wife had the special, also Grouper but prepared differently, she enjoyed her meal as well. Great service. Parking is free next to the restaurant. There's an indoor bar and the restaurant has indoor seating with a water view and outdoor seating with water view.
