On the way here, I thought we were going to find a destroyed beach. It is awesome. We didn't know if the parking meters were in effect. It's $25 for 2 hours or $40 for 7 hours. Water is great. Good atmosphere.

This is definitely my favorite beach! The parking was free after 6pm which was nice. The beach was so clean and it wasn t crowded at all. We watched the sunset there twice and both times it was stunning! The water was really nice too.

Facilities are well maintained at this location. Parking is tight, so do go prepared to wait for punters leaving, so you can pull in. This is one of my favorite beaches in the area. You can perhaps get more peace and quiet further down into Captiva and beyond. But, that would entail about an hour drive back to Fort Myers. Speed limit here is between 30 - 45, it takes time to go places. Nature here is relatively pristine, but it has gotten a lot touristy since I've moved into Fort Myers about 4 years ago.The rocks can be tricky and you gotta know how to navigate. Would suggest supervising children as slip, fall and cuts are all too easy on these rocks. Enjoy!

Great place to go shelling, the beach was pretty nice, not too crowded, but parking is extremely limited! Pay for crossing on to the island, pay for parking. It was worth while as part of our vacation, but probably wouldn't do it again. There are nicer beaches, but this one is good for shells. We were there when the tide was already coming in, but we were still happy with our finds.

This beach was nice, for a public beach. The location cannot be beat. The cost for parking (current 8/21) is $25 for 2 hours or $40 for all day. There is a nice mat path to the beach from the parking lot. There are shade trees if you have some in your party who are not sun worshippers (like me).

Arrive early and with patience to wait for a parking spot. Once at the beach, you ll see one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. Pristine waters, colorful shells, quiet and peaceful. We saw a school of sting rays swim right by us! Also plenty of gorgeous birds and we even saw a wild beach bunny. Highly recommend this beach for couples and families.

Fantastic spot for sunset. Worth the drive. Not as crowded as other spots. Some tips:1) parking is tight so come 30+ mins before sunset.2) parking is $6. Credit accepted3) its hidden at end of road but keep driving and u will find it...or end up in the ocean 4) bring a chair or towel if u want to sit down5) IMPORTANT: if u bring dslr camera be sure to let it adjust to humidity for at least 30mins or u will get lens fog!!6) the colors of the sunset are amazing. Wow!7) there is no water to wash off with so bring plenty of towels, powder, etc8) port a potties on siteIts also a great time for shelling.Enjoy!

This was our third beach during our time here. One of the nicer beaches in this area. If you are coming from Fort Meyers it s a little drive but very scenic. We arrived and easily found parking. You will have to pay with a card and cannot use an app. Not crowded with restaurants or vendors. Truly a place you can come to enjoy the ocean and get some sun. Sand is not as soft as the beach in Sanibel but the water was amazingly perfect.

I'm so sad to write this review. This was my favorite beach in the islands. However, I agree with the previous reviews. Paying 25 dollars for two hours is just ridiculous. The beach is very quiet and relaxing, you forget that you are in a touristic beach, if you don't mind paying that much for a few hours in the beach this is definitely the place to be.

Beautiful beach! Get there early because the public parking lot is small and fills up fast.

25 for 2 hours is not worth it for this beach. The bathrooms are just Porta potties, not a lot of parking. Bowman's Beach is a lot better and more worth it. Maybe if you like a far secluded place then you'll like this beach. The Beach is wide and there are some trees for some natural shade. But I would rather go to another better beach area

Really nice beach. Would have given 5 stars if not for the ridiculous price gouging with the parking! (Jul/2020) $25 for 2 hours, $40 for all day. And that s after you pay the bridge toll to come over here. And for those outrageous prices you get a tiny sand parking lot with long lines, no showers, and no flush toilets. If the residents of Sanibel Island hate the public this much, then why not just close down the public beaches and be done with it.

Beautiful clean beach w good sand and lovely water. Pay to park in a small parking lot. It we went mid week off season so no problem. Some picnic tables available

Minimum 2 hours at $25 for public parking without facilities is pretty much rich people wanting to exclude visitors. Too bad it s visitors tax money that is paying for their new causeway.

Small car park. Porta pottys if you really need too. Rather expensive to pay. Nice to visit at sunset for the view of the sun setting over the Gulf.

My favorite SWFL beach and today it did not disappoint; gorgeous. But was that $25 for 2 hours parking for real? More importantly, be warned: My ParkMobile stored credit card was one I no longer use. The minute I updated to a different card I was alerted by my bank of fraudulent charges coming in - from three different sites. The bank blocked my card; I have to get a new one. So yah, I'm not techy, but I'd say the security of the ParkMobile app at least in that particular location is sketchy at best.

Used to be good. These days the parking option is 2h for $26 or 9h for $40. Weird

A wonderful Beach! But the parking fees are ridiculous.25 Dollars for 2 hours. Payment can only be done with your smartphone. No showers and no changing rooms. Only awful smelly Pottys. Why don't you just close the beach to the public if you don't like visitors?Maybe the whole island?

It s a real shame that you are now being forced to take your phone with you wherever you go. Without it, you can t park anywhere in Sanibel or Captiva. What s next .

Went to this parking lot after dinner to see the sunset. We expected to see the $5 fee that the rest of the lots charge instead we were shocked to see the $25 fee for 2 hours. The beach was not any nicer than the others we have visited and we will be sure to be closer to another parking lot next time. We paid it but will never go back to that beach again. Lower prices mean return customers and better reviews.

Secluded, no hotels near so not too crowded. Parking is tough during prime times but everyone is so laid back you figure it out.

Gorgeous beach and a plenty of parking. Not crowded and worth driving from Fort Myers or any nearby area.
