So glad I found David Wherry, founder of Star Value Automotive. I took my recently purchased 2019, Mercedes E-450 convertible for a complete checkout to see if anything needed to be addressed. Dave is a wealth of knowledge and knows Mercedes inside and out and I learned a lot of helpful information just talking with him. David Wherry was very professional and very honest. He is very experienced and saved me alot of money that other dealers wanted to charge on my 250 SLK Mercedes convertible. I've been taking my BMW to David at Star Value Automotive for a few years now. He is very professional, and knowledgeable about my car. I appreciate that he will not recommend repairs that aren't necessary. His work is exceptional and reasonably priced. I'm so glad I found his shop.

Lucky Find! A friend recommended David to me and I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service this repair shop offers. How many time have you gone to an auto repair shop and experienced the bum rush to get you out the door? Not so here! David took the time to listen to our concerns. I felt completely confident our car was in good hands, and I was not disappointed. The repairs were completed on time and at a fair price. We have two Mercedes Benz--a 2005 E500 sedan and a 2014 ML350 SUV. We've owned older MBs for the last 30 years and this means you have to find a mechanic who is honest, competent and works in the best interest of his customers. We found this in New England, but with retiring and moving to Florida a few years ago we had to find someone new who fit this profile. We found this with David Wherry. He is a person with deep knowledge in Mercedes and is willing to share his time and knowledge--freely. I recently had a routine service done on the ML350 and it was done quickly and professionally. We spend a hour after the car was ready discussing many subjects including mundane things like tires and batteries, windshield glass and how to get a few more years our of a car getting close to 20 years old.So don't expect loaner cars, warm chocolate chip cookies, comfy chairs and soft music--do expect someone who is a master MB mechanic who wants to keep your car on the road at a fair price.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Air conditioning, Oil change

Star Value IndeedI have been taking our two cars to SVA since we moved to Florida 4 years ago. Their service is outstanding. Our lates experience with David further cemented our 5 star rating. Our car broke down last Sunday but we were able to drop it off at his garage that day and he finished his job by Friday even though his schedule was full that week.He new that we will need the car by next Monday for a week-long business trip so his flexibility saved us a week worth of car rental.I highly recommend him!Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Battery, Oil change

This was my first time using a smaller auto service vs. the auto service department at Mercedes. David, may be smaller in size but his expertise and knowledge of Mercedes is high quality. He is very honest and only provides service on what is necessary. The quality of workmanship and value for repair will have me going back again for regular service.

Jim patiently worked with my schedule to accommodate me. Once I was at 5107 Lena, Jim was kind enough to guide me to the back where the garage is. Dropping off my car was a hassle-free, pleasant experience. While waiting to be picked up, I witnessed the young mechanic carefully inspect my car, and even immediately pay close attention to the extra sound my driver's side window tends to make, before driving my car to the lift area. I was impressed with his attention to detail. I knew my car was in good hands. Dave attended to me when I picked up my car. He was very kind, and his integrity came through. Overall, my car and I received impeccable service. Thank you. See you in 10 000 miles!

5 Stars! I'm new to the Lakewood Ranch area and I needed a shop to take my Audi for service. I found a lot of places and the Audi dealer down in Sarasota, but I wanted someone closer that specialized in German cars. David does just that, his main focus is Mercedes, BMW and Audi. He did a fantastic job at diagnosing my electrical problem without it costing me an arm and a leg. They ordered the parts and kept the car overnight. To my surprise I received a call around 10am that the car was ready. They seem to care about client satisfaction...I know, who does that today :) Anyway, very happy with the extra time David took to tell me what to keep an eye on next. It wasn't, hey you need new brakes, and x and y are all jacked up. It was these things are fine but in another 10k miles you may start seeing an issue. Very honest, I'm happy with my decision. Go in for a service and test them out. I think you will be posting next. FYI - I post like 2 things a year so for me to take 5 minutes and type this out says something.

David seems honest and sincere when giving advice about your car or just general questions.He is very Experienced and very knowledgeable about German autos but can also opine and work on other makes and models. David is the owner/mechanic/technician with very reasonable prices, will return for sure for my scheduled services, highly recommend! No need to return to dealer...

Well, tried posting twice already with SureCritic, and they refuse to publish my experience. So I'll give it a shot here. Spent well over $10,000 here trying to get my SLK350 running properly Never complained once about the setbacks or the service. A few months ago there was another major issue so I brought it in once again. I'll keep it short, but the bottom line is that when I showed up 5 days later to check on the car I was greeted with multiple obscenities by Dave, the owner. They were directed both at me; one with regard to having the "nerve" to show up and the other pertaining to the condition of the car. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but I'll never set foot in this place again.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Auto exhaust system repair, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement

Its always a pleasure to visit "Star Value" they are pleasant and honest. They have taken care of my aging 2004 ML350 and keep it running in good condition for the last 3 years. I say honest because they could pad the bill with unneeded work but, no if it doesn't need something they will tell you. In this day and age when every one is out to get you its refreshing to find a trustworthy establishment. That's why I keep going back and recommend them highly.

Service on our MercedesVery experienced and David (owner) one of the best technician in the business, especially Mercedes Benz. His intense knowledge , makes his diagnosis on the money and gives you honest and accurate assessments and recommendations for the repair or issues.

David is very thorough and did a fantastic job diagnosing and repairing an issue with my son's 2012 VW Passat. Got it running and even offered some much needed recommendations on how to get it back in tip top shape. Very professional and honest! Will use him again for my other VW's. Thanks David for a great experience!

I have used this place exclusively since I bought my CLK. They are always honest and are much less than taking it to the Mercedes dealer. Mercedes repair shops always have a standard to uphold to the people who own them. This place is outstanding. Dave and his team never fail to deliver. We have 2 Mercedes and wouldn't bring them to anyone else.They are professional, friendly, honest and timely . Had 80K mile maintenance done on our 2014 MB ML350. We bought the SUV a little more than a year ago and driven it about 9,000 miles. Service was on time, professional much cheaper than a dealer. "Brake Repalcemt S 550"You get great Mecedes Service and at a very reasonable price with Star Value. They give you a quote up front and stick to it. No surprises. Jim and Dave are ethical, personable and extremely reliable. I have a 2014 GL550 and a 2012 S 550 and have been utilizing them for service and repairs on both cars the last 2 years. I have been extremely happy with them and referred to other Mercedes owners.

This service was for a 2004 E500, which I bought new. The car is now 17 years old and this service was best this car has ever had. I had a specific problem, they diagnosed that specific problem and solved it at a very reasonable cost, the same day. One the the best Mercedes-Benz specialists (and enthusiast) I have ever known. He was the guy that could fix what no one else could and he always did it the right way...a true guru! Trustworthy is something that can be hard to find in automotive repair/maintenance. If you are fortunate enough to find your vehicle with Mr. Wherry and Star Value then you have found it!

Being from the Boston Area and use to the price gouging of Mercedes dealers there, I was thrilled to find Star Value Automotive. The team are polite, knowledgeable and HONEST. Hopefully I will not need major service in the near future but if I do, I ll get back to Star.

Today was yet ANOTHER EXAMPLE of superior customer service from David! He is constantly going above and beyond for me! He has saved me $1000's of dollars through warranty work, always looking for a safe, but conservative approach on cost and is extremely patient in explaining and determining solutions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I called for an oil change and they only work on German cars. I still gave them 5 since I heard good things about them but didn't know they specialize only in German brands
