Have stayed at other AMI Inn locations over the years, but this is the first time at Tropic Isle. Check-in a breeze. Rooms very clean. Very slight odor of mold or wet... something... Almost not worth mentioning, but there it is. I would still come back to this room. About 100 steps from the beach right across the street. Friendly staff. Heated pool (just a few days before Christmas) was great.

Room and location were very nice. My qualm was I took a red eye flight in the night before check in. And called the day before requesting an early check in because I knew I would be tired, knowing nothing is guaranteed of course and they said they would try to accommodate. I got to check in around noon just to see where the process was at and remind them I requested an early check in. Wasn t ready yet no big deal. Went for a drink down the road to wait. Came back around 130 to check again and the person at the desk told me it s not ready yet but should be soon because all of the other rooms around it are ready . So it made me feel like my request wasn t even communicated to housekeeping which was frustrating because I was getting tired and cranky. Besides that, it was a nice stay.Safety: Just gotta be real careful crossing the street to the beach.Walkability: Right across the street. Easy walk! The chairs and umbrellas outside were awesome!!

Just got back from a stay at this hotel, and it wasn't good. Starting off, we couldn't find where to check in. You have to go across the street to another hotel to do so. This hotel is on a very busy curved road, where cars fly around the corner, so beware! We found rust on shower bar, mold in tub and on bathroom floor. Unit was freshly painted, but paint was splattered on the floor. Bed was uncomfortable, worn sofa and tables. They were doing landscaping renovations when we were there so we were woken up to machinery & workers. Pool was dirty - full of leaves. Best part was the outdoor space/balcony. If you plan on bringing a pet, they charge $50 per pet/per day and then they tax that an additional 12%. We have stayed on AMI many times and believe me there are much nicer places - keep looking!Walkability: No walkable at all - nothing is nearby except for the beach.

We had an amazing experience staying on this place. The staff was always ready to help and the manager was very nice and flexible helping us with small problems. We stayed for 6 nights, for our baby moon. I was 27 weeks pregnant and the location was very convenient. Just cross street from the beach and the hotel provides beach chairs, that were always available for us.The rooms were very clean and the king size mattress were perfect ( I usually hate too soft hotel mattress). Also very nice to take a break from the beach relaxing on the pool or the comfy chairs around the pool.I also recommend the bbq sandwich restaurant 5min walking. It s really good and an easy option when we didn t wanna leave the beach or get lazy about going out for dinner.I was dreaming about this trip for a long time, and staying on this hotel made everything special. We definitely gonna come back.

Good experience with the condo the only complaints that I have was hot water was way too hot at first and was boiling or the coffee maker did not have a filter and I had to use my own. From my own coffee maker that I bought. Besides that everything was pretty good. The other side of the road the beach could have been worked on a little better cuz they were some voters I tripped on but besides that everything was pretty good and yes they do at pets allowed. About $400 a night but it is pretty good there's not really a bad View of the condo depends if you're on the beach side or on the other side of the parking lot it is still pretty good view there is a good food nearby

Perfect location and beautiful view from the upper deck. The room was clean and the beach access was easily accessible across the street. Traffic was heavy, but most drivers slowed down for us to cross. If this review was based solely on the accomodations, it'd be a solid 4. Unfortunately, an incident took it down to a 3. We had two large groups invade the pool area while we tried to relax. Both were over 10+ people and both were not guests of the hotel. One group filled the pool to max capacity and the other took over the gazebo and grill area and played blaring music that could be heard within our room. The noise was addressed promplty, but after the fact we were told it was staff. If this is true, very unprofessional. Just beware if you are staying here, I'd definitely lock your oom and monitor the people coming and going because it is clear the hotel doesn't care to monitor this. Some other downfalls:-Toilet seat was not attached in 312-Shower curtain rod was rusted out.-We were never notified that check-in was across the road. (Please fix this with Expedia so guests aren't walking all over looking for an office.)-On site staff said "No English" when asked for help. Not sure if this was due to the complaint or the norm, but it was inconvenient.-Lastly, the ice machine is across the street at the boutique style hotel. (I think it's crazy drawing a crowd to the other hotel, especially when rooms there cost $400+ a night. Honestly, if I was paying that much, I wouldn't want guests from the cheaper hotel invading my space.)For over $240 a night, I'd be hesitant to recommend. However, the location is perfect if you can't find something else more cost efficient.

We loved it! VERY clean! Extra sheets, blankets and towels. TVs in the bedrooms and living room. Kitchen was stocked with plates cups and silverware. Small convinces like coffee and shampoo etc. The patio was very beautiful. We didn't go in the pool but it looked lovely. We slept so well in that huge comfy bed! We will be coming back!

Had a staycation here for my kiddos birthday months ago and had a blast. Decided to celebrate my birthday here, too, and we absolutely loved it!! This time we stayed in the 2 bedroom ocean view king suite, truly can t recommend it enough! A completely different experience. Though we loved the last room, this unit is wonderful and definitely our favorite. A private patio, full kitchen and living room with tv. Stairs lead up to 2 bedrooms, both open up to the large private ocean view balcony and a bathroom with a standup shower and jetted tub. Loved it and will absolutely be back!

What a gem, across from the beach, sheltered heated pool , cleaned every day. Daily maid service; clean, comfortable, units. We had one bedroom with kitchen and living area, two TVs. Only thing missing here is a laundry facility for guests.

The rooms were clean, we loved the gated porch and the fact that it was pet friendly. The outside / grounds area was dirty with trash, a dirty pool, a broken outside shower and dirty deflated beach toys scattered about. The guests were picking up trash, beer cans and trying to clean the pool with their hands. I called the front desk a very nice man cleaned the pool with a net, and left! Left all the trash, filled garbage cans, dirty deflated floats.Disappointed, as we had stayed there before and it wasn t like this.

Not our usual spot where we stay but we thoroughly enjoyed the contactless check in, pool was nice and literally 30sec walk to the beach from across the street. Good little spot to be where food is accessible with a few minutes of driving or walking. Staff was friendly and courteous. No real cons other than our fridge shelves were broken and there was a bit of a bug problem, had a lot of small flying ones. And some weird neighbors smoking weed in or outside of the rooms.

Second time staying here ... right across from a private beach so not too many people. Pool is really nice and welcomed on days when the beach is too windy. Rooms are get clean and welcoming. Have said in the Studio and Townhouse (2 bedroom over looking the gulf). Enjoy having the kitchenette as they give us the opportunity to eat in for breakfast and lunch rather than find somewhere to eat. Will definitely be back!!

Noisy you can pretty much hear everything going on next to you on either side and below. Room was clean and had a decent supply of the things listed. Some things are a little warn and dated. Hard to believe no starter pack of coffee. Chalking in bath looked like a 3 year old was hired for the job. The pool is nice the grounds are pretty and the beach across the street is beautiful. This place wont make or break your vacation if you're needing a place that's right by the beach with the ability to cook in room this is great for you as long as you don't mind hearing others and in return being heard.

Not worth the high price. Very small rooms with queen bed and pullout sofa and tiny bathroom. Avoid room #5 as the view is of a dark wall, not the pool. Unfortunately was not told they had sprayed for bugs and had reaction to pesticide. And, how did they miss the ten large dead flies on the window sill? Resort is not on the beach. You must cross busy road at a curve to get to beach. The positive is its mainly quiet and the pool area and decor were nice. Parking is tight and they were repaving road outside bedroom window.

Great customer service, sparkling white bathroom, full equiped kitchen, gorgeous gardens and stunning private beach area. I spend the weekend in a family reunion and we had so much fun thanks to the commodities available. You can borrow beach umbrellas and chair to take to the beach at no extra cost. Housekeeping was great. Definitely will be a place to visit at list once a year.

We have been coming here to the Tropic Isle since 2006 when our daughter got married on the beach. It has changed hands over the years and it just keeps getting better. We had a delightful stay in a bright, newly remodeled, clean comfortable studio with a gulf view. So nice that we extended our vacation 2 days cause we just couldn't leave. The staff is outstanding in every way. The grounds are well taken care off. We never consider staying anywhere else and can't wait to come back.

Staff was polite and welcoming. The rooms were decent. When we walked in we immediately smelled mold and it was very musty. The bed sheets had some little hairs like dog or cat. We have stayed in the past at the sister properties Tradewinds and Tortuga which are both very nice.

Nice, clean room. Comfy bed. Nice amenities. Nice pool with covered picnic area and bbq grills.Covered back patio with direct access to the pool.Beach is less than a 5 minute walk across the street. Beach recliners and towels supplied. Recliners are first come first serve. Beach front is really nice with next to no crowding. Almost seemed like a private beach. If your lucky you might even get to see manatees swim by. We saw at least one every day for 5 days straight.Small shops and restaurants are conveniently nearby. If you are looking for a peaceful place without having to deal with the masses and traffic like you would get going to someplace like Destin Beach then this is a great place to visit.I would give it 5 stars but the room above our room (203) is inhabited by either professional cloggers or by a furniture moving training facility. Each morning around 7 am and each evening around 8 - 9:30 pm it sounds like a heard of buffalo broke loose. Stomp, stomp, stomp. I believe it may be a full-time resident/employee with small kids but it was annoying at times. Fortunately, we were usually up when this would occur but it did happen every day. So if you like to sleep in late or go to bed early I would recommend trying to get one of the second floor rooms.

No oven in room. Other than that, very nice stay. 2 eye stove top, pots, pans, utensils, plates, glasses, coffee pot, blender, toaster, refrigerator, bowls, can opener, shower bath, clean linens, towels, tile floors, bed comfy, etc etc. Staff nice & accommodating. Room size perfect for 3 Adults. Very short walk to the Beach....hmmm, what else? ... I Recommend.
