Interesting and VERY knowledgeable person. But wasn't willing to help me with my problem with my 7.3 Power stroke diesel. He knew what my issue was. ( I broke a lifter ) but he wasn't willing to get me back on the road again. I went somewhere else in Frostproof and truck was fixed in 6 hours for $ 300 bucks. I won't be back. Ever.

We were camping in the area and my husband discovered an oil leak on our truck. We called this shop and ask Mr Strickland if he could take a look at the truck. He said he could and so we had the truck towed to his shop. My husband called him the same day and he said he could not work on it until the next day. The next day my husband called him and he said he had not yet put the truck on a lift and couldn't say where it was leaking from; however in his opinion it had a aftermarket oil pan and we were going to have to replace the oil pan. He said it was plastic and he had never seen anything like it before. So my husband researched it and found that it was not plastic and not aftermarket. That the pan is what was installed at the factory. When my husband called Mr Strickland back and explained this and again ask him to just get it on a lift and figure out from where it was leaking and if it needed a oil pan then we would replace it. Mr Strickland got rude and angry with my husband told him to come get our truck and fix it ourselves. He hung up on my husband and would not take our calls . We were forced to tow our truck to another repair shop. We do not understand why Mr. Strickland got so angry. Maybe he just wasn't use to a person questioning his diagnosis. The only thing I know is the Lord says to turn your cheek, so I'm just gonna pray for the man. Maybe he was having a bad day. However, I can't in all honesty recommend this repair shop.

We live and travel in our 40 motorhome full time. On our way to The Keys, the low water light came on as we passed through Avon Park. When we looked on line for diesel mechanics, we found Strickland s was only two miles away. Ronnie, the owner said they could get us in after lunch. We nursed our coach down the road to his shop.True to his word, they got us right in, found the water leak, made the repairs and sent us on our way.The charges were very reasonable, and we ve had no issues since.Great Work Ronnie and crew...and Especially Dino, the Basset Hound foreman!

had my truck for over a month charged me over 4800 dollars @nd my truck runs worse than when I dropped it off he then tells me its going to cost me over 1200 more dollars to fix the problem that he THINKS the problem is with no guarantee that it will run he has no way to diagnose the problem but has no problem taking your money to practice working on trucks the money I paid him I could have bought a new motor if you have a diesel truck DO NOT take it to him you will regret it!!

Ronnie is the best mechanic in the area. And he works on anything. He's a master at what he does.
