I recently took my vehicle to Ted s and I was not satisfied to say the least. I took it in for a second opinion on a problem with my engine and requested a diagnostic to be run. I dropped my car off Wednesday night so they could start working on it the next day. On Thursday, I didn t receive a call all day so I decided to call them around 3:30/4:00 pm. I asked how things were going and if there was an update on the diagnostic test. Ted said he would go speak with the mechanic working on my vehicle and give me a call back with an update except I never got a call back. Then Friday I called Friday morning, same thing was told the technician assigned to my car wasn t there at the moment and that I would receive a call later. Didn t receive a call back all day, so I call back around 4 pm and then spoke to the technician. He gave me my diagnostic results and informed me that I would need all new spark plugs, all new ignition could, and a new valve gasket. He sent me an estimate of over $800 didn t seem right to me. I contacted another mechanic that was recommended to me from a family member. I showed him the estimate I got from Ted s and he said he could do all the same work for $470 So I then picked up my car Monday and took it over to this other mechanic which he then lifted my hood, inspected my car with me there and showed me what was physically wrong with engine. Basically my head gasket had worn out and two of my cylinders were getting water/coolant in them and that was why my engine had been misfiring. He looked at all my spark plugs and ignition coils, and showed me that they were all performing fine. Basically he told me a need a new head gasket and that was the problem.In short, not only did I get misdiagnosed at Ted s, but was given an estimate with a cost that was almost twice as much as I could ve gotten their recommended repairs elsewhere. Their communication was also VERY subpar and lacking.I would not recommend

They took almost an hour to do a simple oil change. Then they forgot to even put the oil cap back on and oil was all over the entire engine and I found this out when I saw smoke coming from my hood when I was all the way in Plant City. I got it back to them and they thought they could get rid of the oil on the engine by spraying it with a hose, because water definitely gets rid of oil, right? This place used to be great, but now it absolutely sucks. I will never come here again and I advise everybody else to do the same.

Ted s and especially Eddie saved me on Friday afternoon! Driving from St. Pete to Orlando on I-4, with the last of my belongings, following the closing on my house, and making the last trip to my new home, my 15 year old car started smoking. Thankfully a fellow driver got my attention to point it out. I m a AAA member and used their services and recommendation for a service place and got to Ted s! Eddie took my situation, knew exactly what it was from my description and made it his first priority to get me back on the road. I believe a couple technicians stayed past closing time, so I wouldn t be stranded on a weekend! They were able to find parts and get it done! They were awesome, kind and fairly priced! If I lived closer, they d be my car repair service forever! Too bad I ll be an hour away when I m settled! Can t recommend them enough!!

Mike runs a great shop. Good repair work at very reasonable prices and absolutely no concern over integrity of "what work is really needed". Plain English, they don't try to rip you off.

I've been using Ted for a few years now. I live 35 minutes away but it's worth the drive because we trust him. He has never tried to upsell anything...just tells me the minimum to fix and anything else that it may need in the near future without pressuring. He's definitely helped my family out more times than I can count. Some of these negative reviews must be from people who don't know him well enough. This guy will bend over backwards to help anyone. I took a car to a dealership once and it was too expensive so I had it towed to Ted's and it was around $900 cheaper and done the next day!

I have to give them 2 stars for the following reasons. I had a appointment and my oil change took over a hour. I paid 99 dollars and that is the highest I have ever aid for a oil change. I was charged over 8 dollars for shop supplies while a regular oil change gets charged 2 dollars. What more supplies was use on my oil change? I was happy to get it done what the cost was out of line with other places.

Phenomenal customer service. Ted runs a quality shop and treats it like such. They are very reasonable people that enjoy anything automotive. Specializes in the LS platform. Super helpful! Would recommend!

This is my car. In my name and Had my car dropped off cause I had to work. Was told work was 120 bucks. When it was picked up the bill was 400 something.There was no talk or paper signed stating the rise in the bill. Had the cops called and they gave us the car back for the original price. I was also told the owner comes back on Monday. So is this how crooks run a company when the boss is away. Very scetchy business. Other reviews state the same. And the good ones are probably family reviews to make them look good. Do not use this company. WARNING!!! scammmers company. Poor customer service and you can see how they reply to people who were wronged by them. I hope future customers read the reviews and save them self hard ache.

WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE I went here for warranty work for my check engine light. after calling for 3 days they finally checked it and told me I needed a whole new engine and that theres no way the warranty company will cover this. When i originally called they told me $120 for diagnostic, then I show up and they say $150, it took them 3 days to even look at my car and THEY NEVER CALLED I had to be the one to call everyday to see what s going on with my car. the first day that they had my car I called and asked if they have looked at it yet and they said they did a diagnostic but that they might need to look deeper (never said they were going to look deeper) (also never said it would cost extra to look further). The 3rd day of them having my car they say I need a whole new engine, and said the warranty company will not cover (even tho they never called them) and that I ll have to pay the $150 and the 3 hours for the diagnostic I refused to pay that because I was never updated if they were even going to look deeper and I was not told it would cost extra they were extremely RUDE and LIED and told me that they did tell me it would cost extra.. they would not give me my car without me either paying all that $ or waiting til Monday for the owner to be there. After I left, I turned around and called them and said I want my car, I will pay the $150 we originally agreed on but not the 3 hours of labor that I was not aware of, I did not sign any papers I want my car now and he hung up on me.. I called the cops and he gave me my keys right away.. his whole demeanor changed while the cop was standing there NEVER come here unless you want to be scammed.UPDATE:Responding to Teds: It s exactly how everything went down yes I originally took it to another auto place before y all and explained to yall how they tried to scam me and y all did the same thing. if y all were in the right you would think you wouldn t be so defensive and rude. what does my car not being registered to me have to do with yalls bad customer service and attitudes? Also that officer had no right telling YOU my personal information. IT IS MY DADS CAR THAT I MAKE PAYMENTS ON. Your service advisor insisted that he called me and you just admitted you didn t even get a chance to call me. Y all have my car and give no updates and expect people to just trust you? I am not so trusting because of reasons like this and I just wanted updates on what s happening with my car... y all have countless reviews of no call backs so try again.

Teds is absolutely our go to place! Fantastic customer service and they always get us in and back on the road quickly no matter what the situation is! They really care about their work and their customers! We ve been going there for a few years with the whole family s vehicles!

Ted is a scammer! I took my 97 pickup for catalytic converters and he did not replace o ring and welded the bolts! Who does this????? This is not a mechanic with ethics. I received the truck worse than when it arrived. I had to take it to Midas to get it done correctly. Ted will rip you off, I promise! Beware because he kept my truck for 8 days and made it worse. Watch your back because Ted is out to hustle people. Do not take your vehicle to him or you will be disappointed.Service: Exhaust

I didn t end up needing his service, but Ted took the time to listen to me, and offered advice which I took and solved my issue. He could have taken my money and ran unnecessary tests, but he was honest and helpful. Will definitely use him for any future car issues.

I had repairs done here 11/13/23 Eddie did a great job in place of Ted while no one can replace Ted, Eddie comes in a very close second keep up the good work. No one repairs vehicles like Teds

Great experience. I love the fact that a technician will take you on to the repair floor to show and explain what they find. They were up front with everything and didn't try to hide or "add on." Will be my go to shop

Well I went in February 27 for an alignment and of course my tie rods were apparently messed up so they needed to be changed as well. Well the job was done poorly just was doing my front brakes and of course I noticed that the toe rod that got replaced the boot was messed up and put back together with zip ties wow.. really. I went in just for an alignment I paid the almost 400 for the tie rod and my car gets put back together with zip ties. If I could add a picture I would. The only good thing was friendly staff. That's the only positive .Service: Tires

I've been to Ted's three times now and each time they've treated me fairly and did the work as specified. They said what they would do and then did what they said. All three times I got an accurate estimate that was competitive and complete. Then they made the appointment and did the work as promised, completing the jobs on time and at the estimated amount. The jobs required technical skill and knowledge as well as not easily sourced parts. I've come to trust their judgment and expertise. I won't take my work anywhere else. Their customer service attitude is what I would expect from a professional shop. Good work, Fair price, excellent service, can't ask for better.Services: Exhaust, Auto water leak repair, Engine repair

I purchased a protection plan for a used Town & Country and when one of the power windows stopped working and sliding down I reached out to Ted's Repair Service. They were able to easily work with the protection plan company to make the experience for me very easy and pleasant. I waited a couple of hours in their comfortable waiting lounge and the work was completed. I'll be back for all future maintenance and service.

I took my vehicle in to get it repaired. We were told, based on the problem described, the most likely cause and given a quote. We returned later to discover the problem was fixed but we were shocked at the bill.You see, upon closer inspection, they discovered the problem was something simpler and less expensive and they adjusted the cost accordingly. We paid hundreds of dollars less and they were friendly and professional as well as honest.

Ted's Repair Service has expert mechanics who are professional, knowledgeable and experienced. I had a wonderful experience yesterday getting a lot of work done on my Toyota Corolla 2013. I needed new brakes and a tune up. I brought it in the morning and it was done in the afternoon and the price was the best in the area. I got 3 other quotes before making my final decision. Their pricing is very competitive. I couldn't be more pleased! It would be worth an hour or more drive to have my car worked on at Ted's. You will be very happy with their work. My car runs like new again. I'm so happy.

FYI I found and read prior reviews on this place before I went. I put my truck in this shop and once I got it out I was over priced what he originally quoted me. I called and brought that to his attention and he refunded me the money but took the $10 he spent in gas that when I originally paid him he said he wasn't going to charge me for and had a bad customer service attitude when I brought to his attention the next day that the wheel well liner was falling and is missing the screws to keep it in. He deined ever touching the wheel or tire (but did a break fuild flush). Also if you want updates on the progress of your vehicle you have to call because everytime he said he woulf call he never did. They are very under staffed and unprofessional.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

Don't get here often, but when I need repairs - this is my preferred location. Friendly service and excellent rates. Biggest thing is that they actually show an appreciation for your business. I went here originally because I was close and had a coupon, but the service will keep me coming back! I needed an oil change and my rear brakes done. They got me in instantly! ( that NEVER happens). They got both done in the time it usually takes others to do an oil change alone! I was so surprised! Then I thought they miscalculated when they told me the price. I had prepared myself to pay a pretty penny, but it was really affordable. Before I left, I found another perk: with an oil change you receive roadside assistance...FREE!! What reassurance for a single mom with a disabled daughter! Ted's will be my"go-to" from now on! Great place, nice people, great prices!

If you re looking for fast and quality service, I will always recommend Teds Repair Service. The guys in there are knowledgeable and very polite. They always take care of my car needs. I had my oil changed and tire rotated today and it was done in 35 minutes! They are best!
