This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with respect to auto repair. This is the first time i felt like i could trust that the work would be done correctly and at a fair price. The owner, Rich, was one of the nicest guys and is very engaging and walked me through the entire process of the work being performed. Having issues finding yourself a knowledgeable and trustworthy auto technician? That was my story, until someone referred me to General Auto Repair.Let me start by saying this; these folks know what they are doing...I was extremely impressed by their sheerness about the issues and the cost for the repair of my vehicle. I also felt that with everything they repaired, the cost was more than fair.I had the pleasure of speaking with Rich during every conversation about my car. I appreciate that, because it cuts down on any confusion that may arise, due to talking with multiple people. (I mention that because it s been an issue for me in the past, something that simple, botching up the outcome). I will go on to add that Rich was great to speak with, very kind, helpful, honest, and straightforward. (I value that, it s what I look for in any companies I give my business to). He took the time to explain each and every aspect of what was needed, why it was important, and what the outcome would be. He also took the time to explain a couple of upcoming issues that will have to be addressed, but didn t push the urgency that I must get it done right away, with a long list of nightmare scenarios that could occur if I didn t Honesty. That, right there, made me a lifetime customer. Instead, he told me what to look for, and what to expect, for when these issues would need addressing. That is something you should find everywhere, but we all know you don t. So thank you, Rich, and thanks to all who worked on my repairs.They had the car done very quickly, and I was able to get it back in two days time (and trust me, it was a big job)!I also want to extend a huge thanks for letting us pick up my car, and instead of insisting on immediate payment, (paying the credit card additional charge), you allowed us to go and get a check for payment and trusted us to bring it back. Thank you. That, too, is unheard of.Bottom line, these folks are definitely worthy of 5 stars. ASE certified, use top of the line parts, extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. Open Monday through Friday. (Hey, these guys deserve a weekend)! A great family owned, local company to support.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Thanks, everyone at General. Steve was very patient with me. He was willing to communicate with me through my friend on the phone who can interpret for me. I was distressed about my car, so I was in the lobby for 2 hours talking with a few people (from my insurance, my credit card, and rental car). Steve allowed me just stay there and gave me a bottle of water. He checked my car on the day as promised. This auto repair shop earned my trust! Highly recommended!

I cannot recommend this shop enough! Steve and Rich were very communicative, honest, fair, and kind. They took the time to educate me on what was going on and we re upfront about everything. I had never been here prior to this experience, but read the google reviews and took a chance. I have been looking for a mechanic like this my whole life! It s no surprise at all they ve been in business as long as they have. Bring your vehicle here and you won t be disappointed.

There's nothing worse than having to get a tire fixed on a business trip. Even worse when you're in a brace for a torn hamstring. I was in Florida for a work trip and was trying to repair a low tire at the gas station when the guys at General Auto Repair saw me struggling and offered to help. Not only did they help me, but they did it at no charge. Even offered me lunch while I was waiting and pushed my car to first priority. The service here was above and beyond! They also take care of military veterans! If you're in the area check them out.

Called GAP late afternoon about a bad starter. They ordered it and had it installed the following day. GAP beat the dealerships quote for the same work by a good margin with friendly professional service.

I am so glad to have found a reliable, efficient, knowledgeable, and very reasonably priced auto maintenance shop. Cant say enough good about this place. Steve and team did an amazing job. Car runs better than it has in ages. They were able to get me an appointment quickly and had my car in and out same day for a belt repair. Great customer service from beginning to end. I live around the corner and they even picked me up to get the car so I didnt have to walk. Great to know that there are still honest and fair priced mechanics out there especially in the neighborhood. Will 100% use them again.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Always a great experience here, they take the time to listen to what you need done. They don t try to scam anyone or do more than what you actually need. They tell you everything that they re going to do and keep you updated. Will always take my vehicles here to Rich and Steve. Thank you guys.

First time I used this shop. Good solid shop. Friendly guys. Steve and Mike very courteous toward me. Shop busy but cleaner than many, a sign of a first-class organization. I just picked up my car today after having had replaced the regulators and motors of three of the four power windows. I m expecting solid performance from the replacements.

When your window suddenly stops working, in Florida, during a rainstorm; it s a bad day.The second Rich answered my phone call my day got a little better. He was patient with me and helped to find me the most affordable part. He provided me with an estimate quickly over the phone and in the end saved me a couple hundred dollars.As I waited for my car to be completed I was studying for my class in their lounge. All I saw throughout my time there was a group of guys who truly love what they do. Once they fixed my window Mike walked me to my car and explained to me everything that went wrong and what I need to watch for. I am waiting for the part to be delivered, but they managed to get my window up and protect me from the unpredictable weather in Florida.Don t let your inconvenient car issue ruin your day give these guys a call!10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Less than one start, needs to improve attitude towards customer and offer honest suggestions for a problem. Horrible experience. Dishonest big time and condescending toward women.

Rich and his team here cannot be beat! We have been going here for over 5 years because they are honest and do fantastic work. Having a mechanic you trust is really hard to find so we really value the work that they do. We have always had great experiences here and highly recommend them. We also enjoy supporting them because they are a family run, local business.

Rich is extremely friendly, helpful, and honest. They do good work here and are good at following up. My friend/roommate had an issue with his brakes two weeks after I had a serious issue with my car and I referred him here. Rich looked up his car make and model and found that there was a recall and he didn't charge him for the information. He even printed out the information for him to take to the Jeep dealership. My roommate was able to go to the Jeep dealership and get his brakes fixed for free due to the recall. That was very honest and nice of Rich, other mechanics would try to make something up and get your money. Highly recommend this place! Will be taking my new car here from now on.

Car stopped working while driving into Florida from Georgia. Had car towed here and the team was great. They were able to diagnose and fix my alternator quickly on my 07 xterra. They even stayed a little longer after shop closed to make sure things were working properly. Great experience. Definitely recommend them if in area.

I took my wife's Lexus in about a week ago with kind of a strange problem with the suspensionthat any garage could have made up a couple stories and charge me a whole lot of money to fix it and I would not have known better. I have been a car dealer for 30 yearsand I have seen many honest and dishonest shops. I would absolutely recommend the shop to anybody. Rich got our car in and out the same dayand took a long time pinpointing the problem and fixing it without ordering a bunch of new parts. I was very impressed with his shops effort and with the time he took just a visit and be friendly how to make friends with a new customer.as I am becoming more of a full-time resident of the areaI will be taking everything I can to them because they are fair priced and you can trust them and they are friendly which is very hard to find all of those characteristics in any business these days. Thank you again for taking care of it so quickly and honestly we really appreciate it.

I won't take my car anywhere else! After doing some research online, the owner quoted me a reasonable price a few months ago to replace my brakes. I was happy with the work he did so I brought my car back a second time for a service check and I receive the same great service.

Never have I ever had a more amazing car repair experience !I usually stick to pep boys or firestone and it was always such a cold worrisome endeavor.I had an issue I've been going to pep boys for since December and they kept repairing the wrong parts and charging me so much. My boyfriend recommended General Auto repair and they fixed the main issue in a single day and were so nice, friendly and reliable. I will be going there from now on for everything down to my oil changes.

Very professional and prices are always reasonable. From my first visit, I could tell that they would not be trying to take advantage of me and it shows that they invest in their loyal customers, I take both of my cars to get repairs and oil changes for three years. I have never had one complaint.

Purchased my civic a few months ago then three days later the car starts to leak. I looked up a place that has good reviews and General auto repair had great reviews. Everyone there was friendly and my car was serviced within two days for the leak. I drive the car home the next day I find the car is still leaking in my drive way (this time The leak was less than the previous time). I called the shop they told me to bring it in and they will spot the leak easily since they placed some dye to see where it's coming from. My car stayed at the shop almost for a week. When I picked up the car I paid again and drove it home. The next day I notice the car is still leaking and now it it's smoking from the tail pie and near the exhaust manifold. I called that Friday and the owner was out of town. I called Monday a gentleman apologized and said the owner is still out of town and he took my number down and said the owner would call me back (Never happened). I ended up paying over $500 and still have an oil leak. I can't say they are the reason the car is smoking but I can say the oil leak is not fixed. I would not take my car back here. Now I have to find a new car.

Had to change breaks and a flat. They were able to change my breaks but not my flat because my tires were not round, They drained my battery listening to the radio and juiced it enough for me to get home. The next day I attempted to turn on my car and the battery was dead. It was an old battery so I understand but a heads up would have been nice. Overall bad experience.

General Auto Repair is the only place that you need to take your car for repairs. Rich and staff have the best customer service and have high standards of excellence, honest and integrity. They are always willing to work with you and are very flexible. Definitely the only place to go for stellar work on your vehicle.

Let me just say this, finding a good honest mechanic is probably one of the most valuable things to have in life. Rich and the boys at general auto are exactly that. They do fantastic work with the most reasonable honest cost. I live over 35 miles away from the shop and wouldn't think twice driving there to have work done to my car. Do yourself a favor and don't waist any time taking your car anywhere else. I don't ever write reveiws but I just had to this time!THANKS TO THE GUYS AT GENERAL AUTO REPAIR

Had to replace a radiator, thermostat, and two CV joints. They finished everything the day I brought the car in. Not the cheapest price, but not the highest either. Service was excellent. Will use then again.
