We brought my husbands 2011 Mazda to Rob after we received a pretty high quote for a diagnostic from another local shop. The transmission light had come on a few nights prior and we feared the worst. My husband explained our situation and that we were not in a position to sink thousands of dollars into a new transmission - IF that s what ended up being required. They kept the car for a little bit to run through every possible problem that could be causing it - which wasn t an issue for us - we sincerely appreciate just how thorough they were with the diagnostic. Rob worked with us the entire time and took it upon himself to call around and try to find a transmission with a warranty when it was confirmed to be the transmission itself; he knew that we may end up opting to not have it fixed if it was out of our budget and he still went the extra mile to have everything quoted if we decided to invest in repair. We ended up deciding against it, since the mileage was so high on the car and we couldn t justify investing in a newer transmission given the cars condition; we only ended up paying for a diagnostic.The fact is - they probably spent over $600 worth of time to help us out and give us the best experience - even knowing we may not be able to repair the car. At the end of the day we walked out only having paid a little over $100 for the diagnostic itself.I can t begin to explain just how appreciative we are to Rob and everyone at this shop for how much they genuinely cared about helping us out - they aren t just there to make a buck. DO NOT take advantage of them - and they will help you to the fullest extend possible. Incredible business ethics - we will be bringing our vehicles here moving forward.Thank you Rob!!

Great place. Good service. And super QUICK!We are originally native to central Florida but we had moved to Wisconsin for a time. We've been back and had been working with Firestone for our vehicle repairs. I just took my 2007 Hyundai Accent to Firestone and spent close to $1,000 on repairs. Within 2 days, I was broken down in smoke on the side of the road due the timing belt never being changed (at 170k miles) and the engine seized up. I lost hope in Firestone and so I brought my vehicle to Rob at Altamonte Automotive and he explained in detail what went wrong with my Hyundai and I was impressed by his honesty. We also had him work on our Ford E-350 and will be using him from now on. Great service. Honesty and integrity!Services: Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance

Over the years I have used places like Pep Boys, Tire Kingdom, etc for the majority of the repairs and service that I have needed on my 2006 Jeep Patriot. The quality of the work often was, at best, inconsistent. Upon the recommendation of my son, who has used Altamonte Automotive, having been given a great recommendation from a couple of his friends, I decided to give them a try. What a breath of fresh air! Rob had one of his techs give my car a complete check-up, diagnosing and correcting those problems that needed immediate attention. He also gave me a list of other things just to keep an eye on that would have to be addressed down the road but didn't need attention right now. It's nice to work with a business that doesn't try to fix things that aren't broken.Needless to say, I'll be taking both my car and my wife's SUV there from now on whenever I need service. Thanks Rob for going the extra mile and running a business not only of quality workmanship, but also one of integrity that's sorely lacking in many establishments today. I needed a quick look over and oil change before a long trip since my car is not the most reliable. David & the other gentleman up front were very helpful, kind and honest. That place is a gemstone, I woke up to find my car giving me errors for engine and oil pressure check. I stoped by with no appointment and asked them if they can repair it the same day as I have work the next day and needed the car. The man in the front desk was very awesome, helpful and friendly. They repaired it after 4 hours and they also saved me $80 lower than the estimated price. That will be always the place where I will fix my car. I have taken my work truck to Altamonte Automotive and they were able to figure out the problems my truck had that a few other places could not figure out, even after paying fees for diagnostics. Rob and his team were able to figure the problems out with ease and my truck is running great. You now have a customer for life and I will recommend you to everyone I know! Rob is a lifesaver and a stand up guy. Had issues with car squealing and also thought I needed breaks. He fixed the issue, brakes were still good, and charged me less than I was quoted. The car runs like a top now. He also helped me with a few referrals for a job when I explained I had just lost mine. I've come in a few times and the service here has always been great. The people here are always pleasant, and you can tell they strive to give you the best experience they can offer. Absolutely the best service ever! I took my car here for a second opinion after Pepboys quoted $1200 for an ac issue which I knew was wrong. Altamonte Springs was able to diagnose the issue and fix it for under $150, due to it being a simply issue.Did not try to upsell me or anything. Will definitely take my car back.

Rob is a straight up and honest man. We brought our Kia Rio 2013 in from a Drive's mart purchase (of course, they don't do inspections per their policy). Rob did an inspection and gave me a great deal to bring the vehicle to normalcy and safety. He also waived a fee on another vehicle we had in his shop!

Friendly staff! All of them are great! I highly recommend Altamonte Springs Automotive. They fixed my Porsche and had it running like new. Mark took the time to inspect my vehicle and tell me exactly what needed to be fixed. I felt safe and confident that they were not just telling me things to take my money.

Amazing service! I felt truly taken care of. Mark is very informative and fixed my car in no time! The prices are very reasonable and I would recommend his service to anyone. I originally brought my car to a chevy dealership and not only did they misdiagnose, they also tried charging me thousands of dollars for something that was a simple repair. I am thankful that I stumbled upon Altamonte Automotive and will be returning for any future car repairs I may need!

Thank you to Rob and the ENTIRE team at Altamonte Springs Automotive. Not only did Rob do me a solid when I needed help for my childcare center bus and obtaining my inspection (had a faulty break light fixture-thanks again for THAT by the way), but the team also ensured that the transportation of the kiddos in my care was top priority when the transmission light came on unexpectedly. The team took the time to diagnose and test and retest before so kindly walking the key back to me when I couldn't get over to pick the bus up! Thank you guys truly. The humanity presented, even though small gestures, go a long way and you are greatly appreciated for all that you do. They charged me $1055.06 just to replace ignition coils and spark plugs in a 4 cylinder 2014 Hyundai Accent. $33.30 per spark plug and $133.23 per coil, totalling $666.12 for the parts alone.I had just moved to the area and was looking for a new mechanic when my car needed urgent repair. I was desperate and came here after reading all of the good reviews, but that was a big mistake. I voiced my concerns and told them I feel ripped off, but they refused to budge at all on the bill.Maybe this place is good for rich people with fancy cars, but if you are a regular person like me then do yourself a huge favor and stay away from Altamonte Springs Automotive. If it seems too good to be true then it most likely is.Service: Engine repair

Just moved into the area. While driving home from the corner store, my car broke down... I was lucky enough to, literally, coast my car into the parking lot of Altamonte Springs Automotive. I got a very fair price on the repair and was quickly serviced. The odometer was just about to roll over to 100k, but even with those additional maintenance services - they had my car back on the road, running like new in less than 24 hours.Much thanks to the manager, Rob, and the mechanic that worked on my car, Mike. Altamonte Springs Automotive provides something the big box repair shops wont: AMAZING customer service. I've found my automotive repair shop for as long as I'm in the Apopka area!

I worked with Altamonte Springs automotive from my home in Georgia while trying to help my sister with car repairs after she was hospitalized. They were so professional and helpful over the phone and compared their observations and suggestions with my local service provider, and they were on the same page. They went the extra step in diagnosing the problem before coming up with a more accurate and complete diagnosis than the Midas she had taken it to. And fixed it the same day! I had just moved to the area and had a rattling in my exhaust. It was the heat shield. The mechanic walked me out to my car up on the lift to show me what was going on, and explained the easy fix (bend it out of the way to stop the sound) or the difficult fix (break rusted bolts to replace parts). I opted for the easy fix.Five minutes later I was on my way. The cost? A handshake and "welcome to Florida".I couldn't have asked for a better experience.Service: Exhaust

I don't have the words to accurately describe the level of service that I just received from Altamonte springs automotive. I read the reviews before I went there, and they ring true.I got to meet the famous Mark who is named in almost every post. Stand-up guy. More so, I interacted with Mike for pretty much my entire experience, and he spent quite a bit of time with me going through what was wrong and telling me how it can be fixed, without any concern for how much money they can make from the shop, but the most cost-effective way for me to pay for it and have a safe drivable vehicle. There aren't enough thanks in the world for me to give to him. Monica the receptionist was very welcoming as well as accommodating. Thank you Monica.As of today I don't know another mechanic. I know one place and one place only. If it's within driving distance and makes sense, I will road trip to Altamonte springs automotive to get my repairs done. I have already gotten them one new customer aside from myself, they just don't know it yet, but they will be seeing this person very soon.Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

These guys are top notch. I couldn t recommend them more. I travel and have had to deal with countless mechanics and hoped they were honest. This place, and David especially, was so honest and helpful with me. These guys are great. Oil change in an hour included a check of my car, recommended new wipers (I knew mine were damaged), an air filter, and they diagnosed "loud bump sounds" I asked about as being hardened tires (they are old), filled them to correct pressure, and told me that for my driving habits getting new ones would be purely optional, not necessary. (I'm very happy I found you guys again, after your recent move!)

Do Not Go Here!! (Especially If Your A Woman)These guys will rip you off with no remorse. They charged me almost $700 for a $250 repair. I took my car because it was making a really annoying squeeky noise. They said just to check it would be 150. I said okay because when I brought my car here before they diagnostic fee was included in the price of the repair. But it wasn't until after the repair was done I was told that no its not included. Apparently they are now " Under New Managment". At first they tried to charge me almost 1400!!!!!!!!!! saying I needed new tires and new this and that. I asked how much will it cost just to make the noise stop. it was around $680-$690. I paid it but had to come back later that day because my car started smoking. When I called and told them they TRIED TO ACT LIKE THIS WAS A DIFFERENT PROBLEM!!! After a long phone call I brought the car back and they fixed the problem. Here we are 4 months later and my Brother gets home from deployment i ask him to look at my car ( he's also a mechanic) and told me I got completely ripped off he said I paid $700 for a loose belt and a piece of pcv pipe. I asked if it was hard to get to maybe they labor was what was so expensive. Nope it was an extremely easy job that should have cost no more than 250 bucks. I want to cry so bad right now because I had to put that on my credit card and I'm going to be paying it off for a while. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy.Shame on you

After asking neighbors friends and Google for a good mechanic in the Altamonte area this one came up every review was a five star rating except for one and that one there would have made a difference. Mark owner answer the phone I explain my problem he said bring it in within 20 minutes he told me what was going on and gave me a price and how long I would need to leave the car at that time I did not have a way back to my house which was not far and he told me to bring it in before he closed and he would give me a ride home. He told me when my car would be ready what the price would be Etc. Of course when I called when he told me it would be ready it was ready when I got there he thoroughly explain to me the problem and what it took to repair it I also had a headlight out just the bulb and had one in the car but forgot to ask him to put it in but when I got my car I had forgotten to say something to him he told me he took care of it and even gave me a great discount well I guess I found my mechanic now close to my home which makes all the difference. Mark was very knowledgeable and I was quite impressed! He also checked several other things for me and let me know what would be needing work soon these guys went above and beyond and I thank you very much! Rarely do I give a 5-star rating since no one is perfect but this guy Mark he deserved it!

I brought my vehicle for overheating on 7/9. They replaced hoses because they were leaking ran thier tests and all was well.charged me 498.90....car was back at the shop on 8/2 again for overheating, they found more leaky hoses. didnt charge me to repair just charged me 15 for gas to put in it. about a week in it was overheating again. I was waiting til my next paycheck to bring it to them but we were diagnosed with Covid so it sat in my driveway. I was finally cleared and took it back to them on 9/24, replaced more hoses, ran tests and passed. Picked it up on 9-30 charged me 324.00. Within a week it was overheating again..........I took it to a reputable shop on 10-7, i know the owner personally and within 10 minutes they came to tell me that I had a blown head gasket and needed a whole new engine replacement as the damage had gone too far. I dont know if this shop was taking advantage or just trying to make more money but I wont be taking my car back. I tried to look past the poor reviews but dont. youll regret it......sadly they are true......Service: Engine repair

I'm a new Florida resident and was in need of a new mechanic. The service I received was great and pricing was very fair. Mark is friendly and very efficient. He was able to give me a ride to and from the shop. This was much appreciated. Glad I found quality shop so close to my new home.

Great service!! Needed a new alternator and serpentine belt, no problem. Mark was friendly and able to get it done quickly. He also gave me written estimates on other things I should have done but not anything critical. Good to know. I will recommend for sure.

I had a very positive experience with this business, I brought my vehicle in for an unusual issue and it was promptly addressed. I would say a very positive experience with all my interaction's with the staff over the phone and in person. The were very friendly towards me. The service was priced fair and I would definitely recommend!

I've been going to Mark since 2011. He is the only person I take my vehicles to. He fixed our transmission in our truck and it's been solid for 3 years. He always finds a way squeeze us in when we need our vehicles looked at. He stands by his work. The one time I took my car to a different shop to fix (Meineke) because I had moved and didn't want to drive an hour to Altamonte, they basically broke my car. After having it towed to Mark and him diagnosing the engine shot, he let me keep my car in his parking lot for a couple days til I got it sold. Before I buy a new car, I'm taking it to Mark to inspect it first!
