Last week, I was with my parents (who are octogenarians), and we got a road hazard in our tire. We went to a different Costco first, and they told us this tire was in repairable due to the size of the hazard. So, on Wednesday 12/27, I went to the NE DC shop for a replacement under warranty. I arrived at 9am so as to be the first walk-in when they opened at 10am. All appointments were checked in first, and I was told it would be A 2-3 hours wait. I requested that they call me when they brought the vehicle back. At noon, I hadn t received a call, so I came to the desk to ask if my car was close to being brought back.Mind you, at this point, I was sure they were replacing the tire , as the first tech had advised was necessary.At noon, when I went to the counter, they handed me the keys and said it s been patched and you re all set to go . I was angry at this point that they would treat customers this way, especially elderly ones about to drive 500 miles! I asked them to please replace the tire, and they advised that they could not. It took 2-3 additional managers to approve what should ve been done in the first place, and I was charged the difference of the original tire and the replacement (the tire was only a week old, but had been bought on sale, so this was about $20). At this point, the manager said there were 10 appointments ahead of me and it took talking to another person to have them resolve this in a timely manner.It shouldn t have taken me pushing back for this to happen. A third party tire shop, when consulted, said it is NEVER appropriate to leave the hazard in and patch around it I am so glad I persisted in line with original technicians assessment.I strongly advise folks NOT to use this location s tire service!! Save yourself a headache . I am giving them two stars, because we did get out with what we needed, but it was terrible service and attitude.

The guys here are always so helpful and willing to show me different things about my car when asked. I have had tires replaced and rotated. I ve had a battery return and purchased a new one and everything was relatively effortless. They walked me through the entire process and made everything easy. The new air center for tires is very convenient. Their customer service is great as well. Always pleasant.

This location is an absolute disaster! Unless you like to waste your time, think about using a different location for your tire needs. I went last week for a tire rotation and tire repair. Took them over 2 hours to get my car done only to find out that they didn't even fix the nail in my tire. Decided to give them one more chance so I scheduled again for the tire repair only. Appointment time was 1:45pm and I arrived at 12:30pm to give them plenty of time. I was still sitting there at 3pm and they haven't even touched my car! The front desk girl, Chiquita, has a very unfriendly could care less attitude and there's no urgency or effort to make their customers happy. I ended up taking my keys and leaving without getting my tire fixed. What a waste of 2 1/2 hours of my time that I will never get back. This location needs a serious overhaul of management and staff. I will never schedule at this location again.

I arrived five minutes early for my 3 PM appointment and my car is still not in the shop and it's 4:30 PM. The guy in the service center said that they're short staffed. I communicated that it would've been nice if someone would've called me and let me know that they were an hour and a half behind schedule so I could've planned accordingly.

They changed the tire, put it on vehicle, also the spare tire was placed back under the car where it belongs. The spare was so annoying to get from under the trunk. Glad to not deal with putting it back. I've come to this Costco for all my tires with the different cars I've had over the years. Thanks again folks.

I would give this tire center a zero if I could. I dropped off my car at 10am for two tire replacements on the driver side due to flats. It s now 7:30pm and my car still isn t done. I gave this service center a call at 5:30pm to ask if my vehicle was ready and Kevin answered the phone and he stated that my car was indeed ready.So, I called a Lyft and left work early to go get my car. I went to the service desk and they gave me my keys. Then, I walked to my car and saw that the two tires that were supposed to be replaced, were not replaced at all!! So, I had to go back into Costco and give them my key back so they could actually do their job!I am currently still waiting for my car. It s been here for over 8 hours. Which is ridiculous! It shouldn t take 8 hours to replace to flat tires! They should not have lied to me either about my car being ready.

This location has terrible customer service, which surprised me since I ve never had an issue with any other Costco tire center. The employees were helpful enough when I first took my car in after a flat. They said the tire needed to be replaced and they would order a new one. Didn t hear anything for three weeks and every time I called I was put on hold and then hung up on. Finally called customer service who told me there was no record of the tire having been ordered?! So unprofessional, I really regretted going to this location.

Bought four new tires online and came in for the installation. My appointment was a week away so I decided to try my luck with a walk-in. Got there when they opened on a Saturday and received service right away. Done in under an hour. Very kind and courteous staff.

Had four new tires installed, mounted and balanced. Driving home there was a really bad shake in the steering wheel. They obviously didn t balance the tires correctly. Went immediately back and waited over an hour for them to fix it. On the way home the front was better but the rear was shaking. I ended up taking it to another Costco the next day because it was under warranty. The other Costco was laughing at how poorly my tires had been balanced. Needless to say, I won t be going back to the DC location for any tire work.

Please don't waste your time with this service center. They do not know the definition of customer service. Ordered 2 tires. Scheduled an appointment for the earliest time available. Showed up ahead of time. Stood in line for an hour just to get them to take my keys. Said they'd call when it was done. Took my time shopping so they could get it sorted. Two hours later, I'm just getting in line to check out, and they call to say they can't install the tires.They provided two inane and inconsistent trains. Apparently, either they can't or won't install run flat tires unless they do all four. The other reason put forward was that the run flat tires were not designed for my car.Here's why that's bad: (1) if any of that were accurate, they should have caught all that when I placed the order and scheduled the appointment, not after I've paid, waited in line for an hour and handed them my keys; (2) I think the tech confused run flats and low profiles-- bridgestone rfts are the same size and shape as traditional tires and can be installed safely 2 at a time; (3) the tires I ordered were designed to fit the wheel size if my car based on stock parts, which I have not altered-- all four of my tires are the same size as the ones I ordered, and run flats are, if anything, more capable of supporting my vehicle; (4) the only legitimate basis for having a four or nothing policy in this case is to make me buy more tires, which, in this case, was unnecessary; (5) if you did just want me to spend more money at your store for no reason, you're not going to get that with terrible customer service.

Apart from some of the recent negative comments, I wanted to share that I had quite the opposite experience. Thispast Sunday my tire pressure signal was on, found out I had a nail in my tire, they tried to fix it and couldn t (the nail was in the sidewall so unrepairable), put four new tires on (I needed them replaced anyway), and got me in and out in a little over an hour. My car rides smooth, no problems. The only reason they don t get 5 stars is the $70 rebate on the tires was supposed to come off automatically at purchase, it didn t, soI had to get in the long a** returns/exchanges line to get the credit. But otherwise no problems.

Staff were friendly they just seem to need more of them.Get the first appointment in the morning and you may not spend hours on end getting your tires serviced. I counted myself as lucky for only 1.5 hour wait (with the first 10am appointment) the folks in line around me not so much I was told they were estimating 2.5 hr wait.

Booked an appointment for a tire replacement at 1130, had my tires pre purchased and already at the shop. Showed up within my 10 minute grace period but was told they may not honor my appointment. It took THREE HOURS to get the new tires put on, and was quoted one hour 45 minutes (still an absurd amount of time). Chiquila, if you re reading this, your customer service could use some work.

Purchased tires this morning with the professional, efficient, and courteous help of Tony. My car was ready in the time promised, and Tony then took the time to explain the warranty details. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I highly recommend getting your tires here.

Terrible Service! I went there yesterday for a 3pm appointment. I arrived 15 minutes as advised and informed the technician at the front desk that I had a 3pm appointment. I waited for 1.5hrs and my car was never attended to. Ended up requesting a full refund and took my business somewhere else. Funny enough, folks who came after me were attended to while I waited! So disrespectful! Needless to say, I'll never be back.

DO NOT bring your car here. All the bad reviews say it all and I should have known better. They take 4+ hours to change tires, even if you have an appointment scheduled. They tell you it should take and hour to and hour and a half WHAT THEY SHOULD TELL YOU it should take around 4hours . Save yourself the trip and money, by not coming to this Tire Center. Worst service. Not worth your money or time.

I spent over 3 hours to get one tire changed...and with my warranty, they still charged me a lot more than they normally should have. When I asked why I was being charged that high, the guy basically repeated what I could clearly see on the receipt. I decided to call in the next day but they said I had to come back in and explain it again. I'll just go to another branch.

A heads up for future customers - booking an appointment does not mean there is an available bay for your car at that time.I booked an 11am appointment a week out and then had to wait several hours for service.

Yea, the only good thing is that they got me in on the same day to have my tires rotated and balanced. service only took about an hour. BUT of the two times i came to this Costco tire center to have regular service done, both times I left with my car having the major shakes. Fool me once... I took my car to Mr. Tire the next day the second time, and they told me my tires were not balanced at all. so basically they unblanced my tires for me . Beltsville Costco is much better.

Not sure what the point of making an appointment is if it isn't honored! I waited 50 minutes only to find out my car hadn't even been taken into the service area. And only one car had been released during that time, meaning that it would have been close to another hour before the simple tire rotation was completed. Very disappointed.

Customer service speed = slowest I've ever experienced over the course of two weeksPro1) Tires look good on carCons1) Ordering tires = 25 mins to help one customer in front of me.2) was to get a call when they came in: never happened. I called in after a week and found that they were in.3) 30 mins wait to drop off car3) 40 mins to help one customer in front of me to pick up car4) Workers move at pace slower than molasses sliding down a 1 degree incline.5) Not even "we will be with you shortly" or "sorry for thr delay"

This experience is unreal.AAA will confirm that when I left my vehicle at Costco Tire Center Washington, DC on Friday, 03.08.19 the windows were fully intact. (I got a flat while riding in South Dakota Avenue.)While Costco Tire Center serviced my vehicle, they called to let me know that the tire would have to be ordered. Never once informing me that the window had been broken.Today, Monday, 03.12.19, Costco s Tire Center staff allows me to pay for my vehicle and never mentions that the window is broken and now covered with plastic and duck tape.Nor is there any reference to the window on the receipt notes.I go out to the parking lot to see not only my driver s side window is broken, but my car is ransacked.Costco, Washington, DC manager Mandy hands me a claims form and says, I m sorry someone should have called you. The arrogance, lack of empathy and it s not our fault tone from Costco s Mandy was just unbelievable.

Very slow. Arrived on time for the first appt of the day at 10am. They didn t start on the car until 10:45 and took another 45 minutes after that. Will not be returning to this location.

Great place to get your tires but they don't offer wheel alignments , so after you get your new tires, you need to find a Greta place for wheel alignment.

Awful communication and service.When I arrived 15 min before my appointment like it s said online I was then told there was a massive backup and then 2 hours later they told me they couldn t help me and didn t have the tire I needed in stock.Just massive waste of time and a rude staff!

Why bother making an appointment for a specific time to get tires installed if you are going to make the customers wait an extra 1.5 hours because you overbooked, and then be rude about it?

The wait is sooooo long. The guy taking orders is glacial, and with a line of 9 people, there is only one employee taking orders (and took about 20 minutes for some people). The only reason they get two stars is it is a good deal and the free service....
