We just bought a 2024 Palisade Calligraphy at this dealership. The salesman, Cody Lilly was the best we encountered in our shopping process - friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable, experienced. The finance manager was also top notch, easy to work with and listened to our needs. And they had the model we wanted in inventory!

I would like to share my experience with porter Hyundai dealership on Cleveland Avenue in Newark. Such a pleasant atmosphere short wait time very professional I actually followed my guy Mike Ferguson who is very professional on point very knowledgeable about my car which is a Nissan rogue. But wanted to go where ever he goes!!! So here I am

I am a 60 year old female and am appalled with the charges quoted by Porter Hyundai. It is laden with intent to scam. I feel violated as a senior citizen and woman that a business would attempt to operate using fear, as well as a person s perceived lack of knowledge or expertise, in an attempt to rob the public without the smoking gun .If I could, I would sue for the fees they charged me, lost wages, emotional distress, and towing fees to my mechanic (Dover Auto Repair) as I was scared to drive my vehicle base on the quote given and the amount of repairs needed per Porter Hyundai.I was hesitant to send Porter Hyundai s list of repairs to my mechanic because in business you typically you do not share quotes between vendors. However, Dover Auto Repair has been my mechanic for over 20 years and I felt they would give me a fair rate for the necessary charges understanding that sometimes dealerships such as Porter Hyundai can charge a little more or diagnose based on industry standards a lay person can live with.But this was different. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, please see the pictures below of the estimate from Porter Hyundai and Dover Auto charges. What do they say to you? It says SCAM to me.There should be a law against what was done to me. I hope your grandmother, mother, daughter, or sister is never treated this way or anyone for that matter Warning Beware SCAM ALERT

Had car towed here after it was stolen for an insurance repair. Not one single thing went right throughout the entire process. We've basically had to call them every other day for a over a month. They charged us for an amount that was already paid to them by geico. They did not complete the interior detailing that they charged us for. DO NOT bring your car here under any circumstances. I would push my car ten miles by hand to avoid bringing it to the shop here. Absolutely disgraceful.

Porter Hyundai deserves a 0 star rating! SOLD ME A LEMON. My 2023 Hyundai Sonata has completely STOPPED DRIVING on major highways FIVE TIMES in LESS THAN A YEAR due to faulty fuel injectors. The first breakdown, 02/ 11/2023, just one month after purchasing the vehicle, I was forced to merge to the shoulder lane while the car rapidly decelerates and plumes of smoke and gas fumes filled the air. Porter Hyundai was already aware of the issues with the faulty fuel injectors but refused my request to fix them all at once. Which has resulted in 4 other instances of me being in unsafe conditions as the vehicle continues to break down due to a faulty parts The most recent time, on 01/31/23, I was unable to make it the shoulder and was stuck in the middle of the intersection with oncoming traffic. JT, a manager who refuses to give his real name, told me it's not beneficial for Porter Hyundai to fix the fuel injectors at once or trade the faulty car they sold me for another one. I emailed the CEO, Tim Porter months ago about my traumatic experiences with the vehicle his dealership sold me and he has yet to respond. They have not tried to reason with me or resolve this matter amicably. Porter Hyundai has terrible customer service and lacks empathy for their customers. DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR CAR FROM PORTER HYUNDAI.

Just spent over $1k on repairs, including a multipoint inspection. Drove off the lot to low tire air warning, I had to stop and get air in my tires. Do better.

Staff is overwhelmed and act a little rude because of it. Normal dealership stuff. Don't go there for service unless you have to. Call corporate if something doesn't seem fair. They were more helpful.

They lefted a piece of metal grinding, against my brake rotor , making me believe.y brake calipers were bad. Went to the extent to even recommending me a rental car .... To charge me more money to have calipers replaced .Mine you the calipers are brembo calipers highly expensive to replace ...my neighbor mechanic find problem and didn't even chargee to fix that's how simple the problem was .....be careful at Porter Hyundai....

My husband and I had our car towed in a week ago and to know avail have we gotten a call back .We've reached out to the service manager and he has yet to call us back to acknowledge what's going on with our vehicle to to offer us a rental ,Let alone the diagnosis on our vehicle.Poor Service Here and we have waited in there waiting area to speak to the manager it's been 30 minutes and you'd think he's the manger would come to address our concerns.I wouldn't recommend any service here.

I was very pleased with the work being done on my (new) 2020 Hyundai Sonata especially this being my first time visiting this place for service. The mechanic in the back was the first person I engaged with and he was so very nice, and so knowledgeable. I'm a senior citizen trying to learn the technology on this car, so it was a good brief moment telling me about the alert I didn't really understand. And his supervisor was very nice and accommodating because it was late afternoon and he agreed to letting me get the oil change service that I evidently needed. So I rode around front as directed. And went inside, the consultant was very nice as well. However, I was not pleased with the girl who was checking me out so I could pay. She's on the phone with a customer (probably) and trying to wait on me at the same time. So I felt like I only had a portion of her attention in making my payment. And I'm not happy that I was informed they don't issue receipts. What business does not issue a receipt! Also, I had a coupon that she said couldn't be honored because the paperwork was already done... Thank goodness I asked the consultant and he took just a few minutes to re-do the paperwork so that I could use the coupon. I'm glad "for the most part" that I had a good experience as a first time visitor/customer to this service department.

Salesperson was great and very accommodating. Vehicle was delivered early, at agreed price and with no markup over MSRP, and we absolutely love it. Issues are with regards to finance department. Otherwise a solid choice

I called 4 dealerships in PA within a 20 minute drive, including where my daughter purchased her car to try and get an appointment. She had hit a pot hole and had a bulge in her tire, every dealership in PA could not see her for 4 to 5 weeks. Porter Hyundai were able to take her car the next day and get her 2 tires replaced with her tire and wheel warranty, they were also able to do her 15,000 mile maintenance check and oil change all as a walk-in. They were friendly and very helpful, we will be returning for future appointments.

Check engine flashing. Checked and diagnosed that it was an ignition coil. Had it fixed cause I couldn't get an appt where my warranty would cover it and needed my car. Paid up. 4hrs later, same thing. Went back and was told other ignition coils should be done. I asked if my spark plugs should be done because they needed to be changed soon. I was told no. They're fine. Light flashing, I drive 30 mph to another dealership. They changed my spark plugs and my car was fine! Ignition coils didn't even need to be changed. Pretty disappointed/discouraged. I used them often. Haven't been back. Idc how long it takes to get another appt at another dealership. Negative stars

I had some minor issues with the tech, I left a not so great review, the manager gave me a call to address my concerns, long story short he did everything he could to fix the problem that I has... i respect business that admit their wrong doings and correct the problems

After dealing with this service department for about 15 years with various Hyundai vehicles ... all I can says is run! Run very fast from this service department. The ONLY reason that I have continued to use them was because of a great relationship with the sales staff, but enough is enough.On our latest visit, they recomended "in red" needs immediate attention to replace brakes. My independent mechanic inspected all brakes to reveal that they were all in spec and did not require any attiontion at all.My other Hyundai vehicle was damaged earlier this year with a dent in the hood, from the inside out, after having the car for repairs for almost two months. Of course they denied that damaged the car.RUN!

I dropped my car off 1 WEEK AGO, and still NO ONE HAS EVEN LOOKED AT IT. I am out a car, and they will not give me a rental until it is "diagnosed", and they won't tell me when they will look at it. It's a Hyundai Safety Issue built in, so my mechanic told us to bring it to a Hyundai dealership. BIG MISTAKE. Still waiting to hear from them. Michael, our service person won't even return our calls. I cannot say I would recommend them.

I went looking for info and ended up with the perfect car!Every other dealer just kept telling me that they didn't have inventory. Carolyn at Porter asked me to come in and look and maybe consider a different style vehicle - but when I arrived she had the perfect car waiting.I couldn't be happier with the professional treatment I was given!

Lack of communication all around and slow service (2.5hr). After waiting 1.5hrs for a tire rotation and oil change I messaged Michael the person who checked me in and asked how much longer and Michael responded "shouldn't be much longer I'll go check on it". 30min later with no update I messaged back "What's the update and ETA". Michael then responded that there was a lot of cars that came in and it will be another 20 minutes. The 20 minutes went by and I got notification that my car was ready. So I walked up to the front desk to check out. But nobody even acknowledged my presence, even Michael who saw me standing there. After 10 minutes I walked up to Michael and asked if I needed to do anything else and he said no the front desk can check me out which is where I was standing right in front of. The overall communication was just horrible!

Huge shoutout to salesman Mr. Wayne Spearman. Wayne was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and hard working for both us and the dealership. I can't think of a better car buying experience where my time and position where better understood and supported by the sales team. Great experience all around, thanks Porter Hyundai! Truely well deserved praise.

Both the sales department and service department have provided friendly, efficient service and left me feeling like a valued customer. Vehicle pricing was satisfactory and supplied 3 year maintenance is a bonus. I feel I received good value for the cost.

I took my car in for an oil change on 1/3/22. I was visiting Delaware and thought it would be a good time to get this done. When they returned my car it had paint damage that was not there prior to service. The service manager believes it wasn't their fault and they said it was an "issue with white Hyundais" and they couldn't address it until I complained. I waited a week for the Hyundai insurance to approve them to fix it. Once they did I got a call that I needed to schedule an appointment. When I called them back I was transferred 3 times no one knew what I was referencing and I was ultimately hung up on. After I called the service manager to see what the issue was I got a call back and scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks out 2/9/22. Today 2/3/22 I get a call that due to the inclement weather from a 1/29/22 they had to push my appointment back 6 weeks and THIS time I won't be moved no matter what. I live in Harrisburg PA so this has all been extremely inconvenient from the beginning. This has been the WORST Hyundai experience I have ever had.

Rachel provided excellent customer service - she listened well, offered excellent suggestions, and gave me what I asked for. Some parts had to be ordered so I returned the following week for installation. Rachel was just as efficient, courteous and helpful. She saved me money and overall made it a pleasant experience.

1. Terrible location, really hard to get in and out of.2. Service manager needs to be educated in what service means; hint: it doesn't mean argue with the customer3. Exceptionally poor communication, counter staff is almost unresponsive when you come through the door.I would not take my car here for anything except Hyundai warranty service, and if there were a dealer closer to me, I would go there instead. Note that this review does not apply to the body shop, those people are great!
