Recently had my truck in for service. Absolute rip off. An $80 oil change, resulted in over $300. They said this service must include a tire rotation. I told them, I am purchasing new tires shortly, don t bother. They said it s included. Additional charge for tire rotation of course was on the bill! Not told about it., $180 diagnostic charge to tell me I needed a pulley and a belt. Again, absolute rip off. Will never go back there again! Lack of transparency and pricing disclosure!

An excellent Toyota after-sales service center can address all your vehicle issues. For the past decade, my three Toyota cars have been maintained here. I love Toyota and I love Newark Toyota World.

My mother and I came in for a scheduled oil change. Dave Ferguson was exceptional. His service was outstanding with diligent efforts to make sure we understood everything. Overall, you drive into the service area, then they check if you have an appointment, ask you to step out and recommend what they believe you need. They do what they do while you wait in this seating room where there is as Dave said, the funniest cards ever , coffee, tv, and restrooms. I am grateful to have been taken care of well by the Toyotas world dealership.

Worst service center on the east coast. Do yourself the favor and steer clear of this place. Techs claim to have x-ray vision. Brought 2 week old vehicle in for a roof leak, tech sprays a hose on it for a couple minutes and says sorry we don t see any leaks. Pretty hard to see through a BLACK HEADLINER, you know unless you have x-ray vision like these guys. Upon doing their test they broke the bottom of the windshield. If you need a competent dealership service center stay far from here (also Price Toyota since same owner). I wish I could say they deserved the 1 star I gave them.

Bad business will never rental a car from here again.Hertz at this location tried to over charge me for a bill that was only $80And put it in the system for $315.00 and the bad things about it all my insurance was covering my rental.The bad thing is it was the manager that over charged me and got the nerve to say all I put in was the 80. But I get on alert from my bank for the other amount and I showed him and he lied straight to my face.. So how can you trust someone like that.. Be real and keep it with customers.Make sure that whoever rents from here you check your credit card statements.

I continue to be unimpressed with this dealership. After things went whole, the dealership did not follow through with time saving measures. Instead everything ground to a halt. If I had not called back in to force the issue, I may have list more days without my car.

If you make an appointment it doesn t mean you will get your car done anytime soon. I came in here to get a recall done once, in and out, no question when it was busy. Do not come here for oil changes. Only come here if you are willing to leave your car for several days. An employee did approach me about the wait time and said Well you set your appointment to drop off so that means you might have to leave it overnight and I told them about being in and out with an oil change and air bags and he replied Well you must have come on a light day . The day I had my airbags done it was just as busy and packed as today. I understand the employees are just dealing with their provided circumstances, but it is absolutely shameful on the Toyota company for allowing employees and customers to have to deal with this failure. I wish I could have received service simply because of the polite and professional employees.

Update:. I begrudgingly brought a car here for an airbag recall. The attention to detail is so pathetic here. They didn't even install all of my dashboard trim. Luckily, I was able to find the piece floating around on the floor behind my seat. I guess I'm lucky it didn't end up under my brake pedal. Total incompetence; avoid at all costs.------------ old review below -----------Over the years I've used this service department I find they are really slow doing simple service like an oil change and tire rotation. Two hours for routine service when I have an appointment is unacceptable. This wasn't an isolated incident; it was routine. One time it took them 3.5 hours to change my tail light assemblies under warranty (they had moisture in them). Decided to do my own service rather than waste my time here.

Hertz rental is located here. Due to a major car issue I used the car rental place here. I did go into this place asking plenty of questions after during my research and reading some not so great things on them. My experience thus far has been good working with them. The only con I'll say is the $200 hold they place on your credit card which had me a bit confuse since I was aware only of Hotels doing this whenever you're paying during your stay. The customer service was good, I asked for a mid-sized vehicle and I was upgraded after calling to ensure it was available. Overall, good experience, great location and easy to find.

I had recently given this place a 5 star review based on the paint job they did bc Toyota had a recall on the color of my paint. But I no longer believe this place deserves 5 stars. Not after what I went through yesterday. I scheduled a regular, conventional, oil change and tire rotation here for 1 pm a week ago. I was warned not to go to a dealership for maintenance bc they'll always try to upsale you. But I went here anyways bc they were so nice to me for the paint job. Surely they wouldn't try to take advantage of me or try to upsale me. I was wrong lol. It said my oil change was going to cost $59 when I scheduled the appointment online, but it was over $100. I got there right at 1 pm, the time of my appointment, and it took 2.5 HOURS for an oil change and tire rotation. And there was hardly anyone else there waiting. I have NEVER waited so long to just get my oil changed and tires rotated before at anywhere else. It would make sense if I didn't make an appointment a WHOLE WEEK in advance, but I did. I had to cancel plans that I had later in the day bc it took so long. After waiting an hour, they called me over to tell me that I needed new brake pads and rotors IMMEDIATELY. The main mechanic told me that he preferred for me to have them done that day. And it was gonna cost anywhere between $500-$600. Which was INSANE. He claimed that they were cheaper than any other shop around. And I was like, there's no way lol. He told me I could also be put on a payment plan for a down payment and $200/mo for 3 months. He was really pressing me to get them done that day, and I simply could not do it. That is outrageously expensive. I didn't even have that kind of money on me at the moment. Luckily I know someone personally who can do brake work. That person told me that it would cost me just $125 for the parts, and that Toyota was definitely trying to upsale me. It's safe to say that I am not getting my brakes done there. Nor am I ever getting any work done there again. Idk if they were taking advantage of the fact that I'm a woman or in my 20s, but it was absolutely ridiculous. Everyone was right. Never go to a dealership for car maintenance. I'm seriously just going to learn how to change my own oil from now on. Jfc. Also after they pressed me about my brakes, it took them another whole hour just to put the tires back on my car.Services: Painting, Tire rotations, Oil change

This place is horrible and not welcoming. When I entered I was not greeted, the service advisor Tom I believe his name was the one assisting. When I first entered he kept staring in my face at the reception desk rather than greet me as I stood waiting for reception to get off phone. Tom then walked off and I walked behind the area where the service reps was to ask what was the process for dropping off. I was told to drive into the shop area and I would be assisted. At this point Tom comes out to assist me where I left the vehicle. I called back and requested for them to let me know when the vehicle would possibly be done a hr to two hours prior. My god mom text me at 7:03 to tell me to get the car. At this point the service center has affected my day because I worked Uber out in Delaware and it was extremely slow and no money out here. At 7:03 I was more than an hour away because I was not called as I asked an hour to two hours prior. This service center is very unreliable and unwelcoming I would not suggest this shop to anyone.Services: Auto battery replacement, Tire rotations, General repairs

I ve been using them for the free oil change/tire rotation for the first 24 months deal that just culminated. Other places are faster, closer, easier to access, and probably cheaper so I didn t plan to come back.Had a sidewall bulge on a recent vacation that required a replacement, probably from a pothole. I rolled in, without an appointment, on a Monday afternoon and left 60 minutes later with a new tire and the donut back where it belongs, just like it never happened. Wish I had the road hazard warranty but I guess I didn t pay for that. However, they do price match for 30 days so they took off the difference from a quote I had from another shop.Maybe I ll go back for the regular maintenance after all . Thanks Dave

came here a few months ago & had the worst experience ever, with the absolute rudest staff member i ve ever experienced at any toyota. BUT- came in today for my 30,000 mileage service & David Ferguson was the NICEST, most sweetest, kind hearted, personable, and talkative staff member ever. He walked me through everything to do with my car service, and even made conversation with me about my personal life. very sweet guy. will be returning, and only because David showed me what real customer service looks like!Service: Oil change

Highly disappointed, pathetic customer service ( scheduling service appointment). Bunch of junior folks are running the show who is always after your money or atleast instructed to do so.Scenario 1 ) Scheduled appointment with Dave Ferguson on Saturday for 70K maintenance and other work related to windows, keys, cabin filters etc. Went there but he was not there so they assigned someone else.a) No-one informed that he will not be thereb) They are asking why do I need an appointment with him only?Scenario 2) Agreed to work with other service advisor and started explaining the problema) She is asking me the root cause of the problem and I had to told her that I can only tell you the symptoms and you are here to help me the root cause and how did that happen.b ) Even before listening to the entire problem, the first word she uttered was $155 for the diagnostic of the windows.Scenario 3) I came out immediately and call customer service to schedule appointment with Dave. They told why did you come here today, Saturday is oil change only. So you have to take an appointment on other days.I was probably expecting better communication and kept customer updated with any changes, customer centricity, listening to them, the problem they are facing and come up with options and at last share a price estimate for the agreement of the work to be done. This review is about the worst experience with their vehical renting service.We rented a minivan June 28th, 2018. When my wife went to pick up the minivan on July 12th around 5:30pm and they did not have the van available as it was not back from their previous rental. My wife asked for a similarly sized replacement vehicle and they did not have anything else available as they ONLY have 2 vehicles available for rental. All other rental places were closed so she could not even call them and rent from Enterprise. She had no choice to rent Tiny RAV4 as she had to travel to Atlanta with my 2 kids who are 6 ft tall, my dad who is 5'11", my mom total 5 of them in a small RAV4 along with their luggage. I've also attached pics of the condition of the RAV4 we received on the day of rental, it was dirty. Not cleaned or vaccumed.NONE of the Rental Service personal had courtesy of calling my wife in morning and let her know that the vehicle requested is not going to be available. If known she would have rented from alternative source and had a good comfortable trip.Please make sure to confirm 2 days in advance with these people if you are planning to rent a vehicle from them. I will never rent it again from them neither I would let any of my relatives do it either. WORST EXPERIENCE.

I bought my car four, nearly five, years ago from the Newark Toyota World and have been using their service for every maintenance I've gotten every 5k miles. They've always been very nice, I never feel like anything unnecessary is being performed on my car, and even after moving farther out of Newark, where there are closer toyotas I could service with (or a general mechanic), I still opt to continue getting all my services done here.

I have updated to 1 star because I changed my brake pads and rotors. The rotors were scratch free but had some rust on the edges (no rush). The pads were thicker than reported and would last another 6-12 months before reaching the warning clip. So the urgent brake change (supposedly would fail an inspection) was false and I have even more doubts about their urgent services. I would recommend seeing the work in person and waiting.Initial review of July 20 service:Their parts and labor are expensive. They want to add services and try to create a sense of panic. Most of the services I can do myself. All I wanted was an oil change but they flagged a huge list of repairs. I trusted the serpentine belt needed to be changed but I'm not sure if it needed to be changed immediately. I only agreed to a tenth of the work and I'll do the other $2k of work myself (cost less than $500 in parts and a few hours of labor, most of the cost due to new tires).Services: General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Oil change

In late January into February 2023 I had my Toyota Highlander serviced at Newark Toyota on Marrow's Rd. After an inspection, oil change, air filter and brake fluid service the vehicle was returned to me. Two days later radiator fluid was leaking. After Toyota assessed the issue, I was quoted $738.00 to replace the radiator hose and clamps. I refused to have the vehicle serviced at such a high amount for such quick, simple work. I had a local certified mechanic inspect my vehicle instead and got the job done by said mechanic for $25.00. After years with Toyota Service at Marrow's Rd I have lost all trust after this attempt to take full advantage of a loyal customer. I would never recommend this service center to anyone. One of the worst parts and service experiences I ve had.Needed a key cut and programmed.Walked in to the parts department first, parts manager was talking to an outside tire salesman tells me to wait. Drop your conversation and take care of the customer.Walk over to service to get car checked in, service writer tells me to go get vin number and mileage. Get off your cell phone and check in the customers vehicle.Operations manager if there is one needs to take control of their staff and teach them customer service.

Ever since buying my car used in 2021, I wanted to ensure that I was keeping it in the best condition possible (since this is my first car)! My car has been getting serviced at Newark Toyota since 2003, and when I purchased it, I continued taking it to the place where it had been kept in good shape for nearly twenty years. This past week I needed to get a tire rotation done on my car. I dropped my car off and about an hour after I got a call from a worker named Jim. He was saying that there were a couple of issues with my car and for me to call him back ASAP so he could let the mechanics know what to do with my car. I unfortunately missed his initial call since it was an unknown number. After three attempts at calling in a two hour window, I was unable to get through and I was unsure what was happening with my car. The women who answered the main phone left several urgent messages to Jim's department, but I never received a call back. Eventually, on my third phone call the woman working the phone told me to just come in. When I came in, Jim explained to me how he was unable to get to the phone in over two hours and was the only one in his department currently. I empathize with being short staffed, but when I was talking to Jim and asking him questions about what was done with my car and the issues he mentioned over the phone, I felt incredibly talked down to and he was incredibly short with me. I just wanted to make sure I knew what was happening with my car and that everything was okay for me to take it home. I left Newark Toyota really upset and frustrated because my past two experiences here have been incredibly pleasant but I was really let down this past week. Since this experience I am wary about coming back to Newark Toyota in the future because I do not want to leave a dealership with remaining questions regarding my car and frustration with how I was treated.Service: Tire rotations

Brought our Sienna in for a routine maintenance. There was a bit of confusion as to the replacement of air filters... only the engine filters were replaced and not the cabin air filters too. Thought I had given the OK for all but that wasn't a big deal.A bigger problem occurred when my husband went to pick up the car he had to cool his heels for 30+ minutes while they located the car keys. Apparently the fellow that worked on our car went to lunch with our car key in his pocket.Service: Auto maintenance

Dave Ferguson was amazing. Came here for my first service. No wonder so many good reviews on him. Even had free car wash and he made sure my wheels were good and on track. Only spent an hr though normally its 1.5hrs.
