Ewing is very reasonably priced and willing to answer questions and offer options if available. I have had repairs for my horse drawn competitive carriage on brake system. Ewing was able to find parts that other repair people could not find. I have taken cars, trucks, for regular maintenance or other issues for over two decades and I recommended to family and friends.Services: Transmission, Carburetor cleaning, Auto windshield repair, Electrical repair, Exhaust, Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto brake repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Auto brake replacement, Battery, Oil change

I like to share good experiences but I did not have a good experience with Ewing towing this morning. Towed my car (which I thought was stolen) from my apartment complex from a spot that's clearly a regular parking spot. After I found out it was towed & not stolen, called Ewing. The guy was rude when I asked why it was towed, told me $200 and a drivers license to come get it. You know why I thought my car was stolen? Because it was literally another car in that same spot. Not only are times extremely hard out here, but when you try to do the right things & still gotta come out of pocket $200...something has to be said. No worries, I had a talk with my complex as well. Spots that people shouldn't park in need to be marked that way. Otherwise you go to sleep, wake up the next morning & wonder what happened to your car. Meanwhile some towing company like Ewing just made a quick $200 in 2 minutes. They can eat but don't worry about my family eating.

Our experience was my son's car was towed by the police, so not a happy experience. The heavy set guy at the front was snarky with my son on phone but ok to me when I called. After paying had to move car ourselves.

I had an incident where i parked my car in a lot on Friday evening while out to dinner. the sign in the lot stated parking exclusive for residents and customers. the sign did not state numbered parking spaces were not to be parked in. I called the towing company I didn't get the persons name but he definitely told me he was the manager. I asked him if he had my car and explained the sign in which he rudely responded "its common courtesy"!! He told me it would cost $100.00 to get my car where to pick it up and rudely hung up on me. Went to pick up my car. Paid the 100 in cash yes the "manager" did apologize but in reality that is not how you do business. Especially when you can see the sign clearly does not have exclusions to where you cant park. Keep the cash its obvious you needed it more than me. thanks

may i preface by stating i am a widow and car repairs terrify me. i feel as tho i have been taken advantage of in the past. when i was quoted over$400 to replace my headlight, i was devastated. my coworker recommended Ewing Towing. they fit me in immediately and charged me less than $100. it took 20 minutes and I WAS SO GRATEFUL! they are an honest, kind, trustworthy group of gentlemen. i will go NOWHERE else in the future. again thank you Doug and his team! God blessService: General repairs & maintenance

They just tow your car even when you have permit to the lot saying you parked in someone spot without putting any sign like private spot to charge money and tell themselves doing very professionally by hanging up in the middle of the call. I guess they are professionals in charging money rather than working.

Car was towed by this company and they charged 10 times higher than the price as indicated in the parking lot for storage fee, labor charge and administrative fee. Absolutely it is Predatory Towing. The man at the counter said he doesn t care what s wrote on the warning plate and charged according to their own standards. Don t do business with this company!

DISHONEST AND RUDE. We took our car there for an estimate. We were never told there'd be a fee to look at the car. We were charged a diagnostic fee. We already knew what was wrong with the car as we already had two free estimates elsewhere. We were told to leave the car and when we went to pick it up, we were told there was a fee. When I asked to contact the owner the guy said no. He was very rude. Don't utilize this shop!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Rude and unprofessional. I inquired about the price and he said if we charged you $1,000 you re still going to have to pay it. He refused to elaborate on the labor charge. Isn t it illegal to demand payment with explaining why? You can t just arbitrarily charge any price and hold someone s property ransom, especially if you can t even answer to what the labor charge is. Very unfriendly experience, I feel scammed and taken advantage of.

I came in last Tuesday because I thought there was something wrong with my engine. The gentleman took a look at it and said that there was nothing wrong just that I needed some oil in it. The staff at Ewing towing and auto care was completely helpful and extremely friendly. They finished my car in a timely manner and I would definitely say that I would highly recommend anyone to go do business with them. They delivered great service.Service: Oil change

This company & whoever runs it is cold hearted and money hungry! They towed my car (from in front of my house) causing my daughters to miss their first day of kindergarten & charged me $150 to get my vehicle back! I guess they doing that bad that they have to stoop so low to earn a profit! I wouldn t trust them! They have contracts with rental offices to patrol neighborhoods & prey on peoples vehicles! They have the nerve to call theirselves an auto repair when really they need to be called auto patrol! All business is not good business! Regardless they got their money & I hope to never deal with this company again!

Everything was finished ahead on time. They diagnosed my emissions issue and gave me an estimate on the repair. They were honest about the repair and looked to get a good price on repair parts. The facility was clean. I trust their work and will always have them service my vehicle.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnosticServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

This company is predatory and scamming rental properties to steal cars and charge a quick fee. They even target and stalk vehicles and particular owners for reoccurring payments. This is a very risky and dangerous con job to take people's vehicles mostly unwarranted, from in front of their residences. Not everyone responds the same to an unknown male stalking your car with a flashlight in hopes to "catch you slipping" and quietly tow your vehicle from out of your life. Very violent business methods. Disgusting. Please form a petition for local government, everyone!

They tow cars from private communities without warning and want excessive storage rate. Although signs are posted, according to my rental contract there should have been a two-day warning before getting towed (which would have been nice if you have guests for a few hours or a day). The did not respect this warning, but towed on the first day. Then they charged the maximum storage fee per day. Even parking downtown at main street will only cost half as much as they charge per day in their very remote location.

I dropped my 2010 Mini Cooper S off on a Monday night, for exhaust leak, electrical check engine light and Mass Air Flow errors. The guys at Ewings had my car running in 2 days and had great prices. Car passed inspection after running it 100 miles after the check engine lights were reset. I will definitely use Ewings again in the future.Services: Electrical repair, Auto engine diagnostic

Originally I called for a tow for my Jeep Latitude from a mechanic who had my car for 3 weeks and $1000 later to the dealership. When I called for a tow the man asked me if I mind telling him what's the car doing/not doing. I proceeded to tell him . He asked me if I knew that they are a Auto Repair shop also. I said "NO I just Googled Tow companies hear me" He said it sounds like something his mechanic could fix and would I like to speak with him. Doug sounded confident he could fix the car. I said ok go ahead and pick it up and take it back to your shop. BAM 3 hours later Doug calls me back and said he had the car running now and took it for test ride all is well. He wanted to test drive it again the following morning (as it was late) so he kept it. Called me next morning to pick up. Only paid a couple hundred not $1K like I paid the mechanic he picked it up from!!! No problems since I got it back. I would definitely recommend this shop!!!

This company uses extremely aggressive parking and policing practices in agreement with rental management properties that give no transparency or warning. They hurt poor and vulnerable people, and of course, the state government completely allows for it. They are racist and rude. Shame on you.

We were told by Midas that our daughter s car needed almost $2,200 in work. Because of some discrepancies in their estimate, and the fact that we re out of state, we decided to get a second opinion. Rock at Ewing was incredibly helpful. After squeezing us in on a Saturday, he told us the car is fine, but we should have the brakes checked in the next few months. We deeply appreciated his honesty!! If you re looking for an honest mechanic, I would highly recommend Ewing Auto Repair!

The guys there are great and will give you more than a fair price! it was gonna be a few hours, so they not only ran me home but also picked me up when the truck was ready. They not only did a great job in replacing the wheel bearing hub assembly, but also found and corrected a brake pad problem for no extra charge. Also installed a brake light and only charged me $2 for the bulb. What can I say? Place is awesome! You won't go wrong by taking your vehicle there. Great mechanics!! Highly recommend!

Very unprofessional. Both of our cars were towed from our condo complex and when my husband called to inquire about our cars, the owner/manager Rock was extremely unprofessional and hung up the phone as my husband was talking. In addition, he did not provide us with the CORRECT address or an address AT ALL to locate the towing yard since he hung up the phone so abruptly. So it took us hours to find the correct yard to retrieve our cars. When finally arriving, Rock was condescending and unprofessional when taking our money and giving us the information for our cars as if WE WERE IN THE WRONG for feeling upset that he hung up the phone and led us on a goose chase to find the property!! This business lacks professionalism and we HIGHLY recommend that you do not use any of their services.

The worst towing company to exist. Both of the guys that I ve dealt with are racist and I refuse to believe other wise until I m proven wrong. If you guys are closed sundays how do you tow cars out of our complex at 6:45am I finally caught them doing what everyone says they do. Today I witnessed the guy with brown hair tow someone car on a Sunday again at 6:45am our rules for the complex is if there is anyone in the complex from 11pm- 4am without a sticker they re allowed to tow well it s was way passes the curfew and of yeah it s Sunday when you guys are supposed to be closed. I m not even gonna get into all the times they ve messed with my moms car while she had her parking sticker in her back window.

The worst business ever. They towed my car when the parking permit just expired. Rock the guy who owns the business hangs up the phone multiple times when I tried to call. He then doesn t have that same energy when you come in. He then is rude and gets smart with me and my wife while we are picking up our car and charges us $200 per car for having the car less than 24 hours. Do not go to this place. He didn t even wanna look me in the eye when talking. The worst place ever. I m gonna tell everyone I know not to go here for anything and then I m gonna make this big

It obviously sucks to get towed. Here at Ewing Auto Repair and Towing this company did it's best to make me feel less frantic about my situation. There was an issue with my car post tow, and the manager Rocky and his employees were nothing but understanding and respectful! They helped me out more than I could ask for, they really value their customers.

We started taking our cars for service to Ewing Towing and Auto Repair about 3 years ago, after the Subaru dealership told us we needed $6,000 in repairs on our 2000 Legacy. The mechanics at Ewing told us the car was in great shape and only needed an oil change. Since then we ve been going to Ewing and have been consistently pleased with their work. These are honest and competent mechanics who have kept our cars running smoothly. Their prices are very reasonable. They even drive us home or to work when we drop the cars off, and pick us up when the repairs are done. Those complaining about getting their car towed would do well to park in authorized locations. In the time it took to write a nasty review, they could have found a proper parking spot. This is Newark, not NYC.

I took my Ford Escape to them to have the brakes checked and two tires replaced. They got a great price on quality tires and checked the brakes. Most places will tell you that the brakes are "Ok but I you should think about getting them changed soon" I know the scam. I already checked them and they looked fine. They said they were good to go and I am glad to see that they are a reputable place that doesn't take advantage of people. I had the wife drop off the car. If you know anything about how this scam works you know that they prey on women all the time. Not Ewing's.....they did a great job and I am going there again the next time I need anything done on my vehicle.
