Dante and the team told me what my car needed with a free estimate. They then replaced my torque converter and rebuilt my transmission. The price was very fair. I took it in Monday morning and got it back Wednesday evening. Very trustworthy shop that does top notch repair work. So glad I went with them.

Brought my vehicle there after a local dealership told me that my vehicle would need the transmission replaced to the tune of $8400. Benchmark checked it out, advised there was a service bulletin out regarding my vehicle model. The bulletin basically advised of getting the transmission computer retuned.However, if the retune did not work, they explained what my other options were none of which were near tge $8400 the dealership was trying to charge me. They were able to retune the transmission computer. I am happy to say after over 600 miles since the retune it's running great. Thank you Benchmark.

I had to have my transmission rebuilt. Dante, the owner, and Nate, the technician, did a great job! They were very quick and came in a little under their estimate. They also did a couple of other things for me that needed to be done, which saved me some work that I hadn't been able to complete. Overall, a very positive experience. My daughter s car broke down on Ogletown Parkway the other evening and she called AAA to have it towed to a service station nearby. We were so lucky the car landed at Benchmark Transmission! We feared the worst (with all those lights that came on!), but the team at Benchmark gave us an honest and fair assessment of what needed to be done. They are trustworthy and give great attention to detail. We also got a AAA discount on service! Contacted Dante through the site over the weekend with questions about a ballpark on rebuilding my transmission. Even though they were closed at the time he emailed me almost right away! I limped my car in on Monday and had it back on Thursday! They did a great job and were very professional. It's great to find a mechanic I can trust to do what they say they'll do and back it up. Thanks guys for a great experience!

Brought a 2019 rav4 here for a transmission service. Was a first time for them on that specific car, but they did just fine. 1,000 miles later the car is still driving fine

My daughter's car wouldn't shift into reverse so we took it to Benchmark Transmission. We talked to Don about the problem and he test drove the car. He explained the problem to us and gave us a detailed estimate. I was expecting the worst but the estimate was very reasonable and we could have the car back the following day. That was 3 months ago. The car is driven every day and is good as new. I highly recommend Benchmark Transmission.Service: Transmission

My sons 2004 Mini Cooper started acting up right after a clutch replacement. These early Cooper transmissions are notorious for bearing issues. The car was not worth dumping lots more money into but had low miles and was in great shape otherwise. I decided to pull the transmission myself and hope to find someone that would repair it at a reasonable price. Benchmark was recommended by my mechanic, Fair Hill Auto. I brought the transmission to Dante in Newark and without question, he was willing to take a stab at the repair. Two bearings and seals later, the Mini is back on the road and feels like a new car. It shifts better than when we bought it at 80K! Thanks Dante!!

I was having issues with my 2007 Hyundai Elantra where it was not shifting out of second gear. I looked up transmission shops near me and found that Benchmark Transmission had the top reviews. I called them and they asked me a couple questions about the problems I was having and then told me that I could drop it off the next day. Within two hours of dropping the car off Dante, the shop owner, called me to personally update me on the status of my car. Two hours after that received a call telling me they fixed it. Excellent service, excellent price, I would absolutely recommend Benchmark Transmission.

I highly recommend Dante and Benchmark Transmission.Dante worked on my '09 Corolla's transmission at the end of last year. When he realized the work to be performed could only be done by the dealership, he was immediately up front about that.I was really impressed that Dante insisted that I stay in touch with him on the results of the dealership's work.But I was doubly impressed, when he took the time to call the dealership on my behalf when I was unsatisfied with the dealership's results, as well as the dealership's response to my follow-up.Because of this, the dealership's follow-up work was satisfactory, and I owe it all to his efforts: above and beyond what could have been expected.It is not easy to find a trustworthy specialist when it comes to your car. But Dante Principe and his team at Benchmark are definitely someone you can trust.

I have been taking my vehicles to Benchmark Transmission in Newark now for nearly 25 years and have never felt more comfortable with the expertise and level of service that I have received.I have owned various makes and models, typically of older vehicles, and have always had the life expectancy of the vehicles extended whenever I wrestled with whether have the transmission serviced or replaced as opposed to necessarily getting another vehicle.It has always been well worth the cost.

When they ask if it is ok to take an extra bit of time to make sure that they have the pricing and diagnosis right up front.... you know it is a Very Trustworthy place. This was the second time we needed service on a vehicle's Transmission and this is our go to mechanic for honest work, and the job done right the first time.

Our 13 year old Toyota Camry's transmission suddenly gave out last week. We looked in the AAA listing of approved repair shops for a transmission specialist and found Benchmark Transmission which is nearly 12 miles from our home. Checked out the Better Business website and found that Benchmark had an A+ rating. Had the car towed to Benchmark and later spoke with Dante Principe, Jr. (the owner) who was prompt and knowledgeable in assessing our car's transmission problem. Dante told us that the problem appeared to involve the gear train (a major repair) and proceeded to describe the approximate cost and number of days to rebuilt the transmission (specific parts had to be gotten). Given the age of the car, we decided not to repair the transmission, but instead to trade it in for a new car. Had the car been a newer model, we would have been quite comfortable having Benchmark make the necessary repairs given their track record and Dante Principe's honest and straight-forward approach to our problem. Benchmark guarantees it work. Given the vulnerable situation we were in with a sudden catastrophic event occurring in our 13 year old well-maintained car, Benchmark clearly presented all the options to us which enabled us to decide on a way forward. We would recommend Benchmark for these reasons to anyone with a transmission problem.

Very honest evaluation of changes required for my Honda minivan to operate and a good year long warranty given. The guy is knowledgeable, highly recommended to get transmission related issues checked here.

We had a problem which required a tow late in the day. Dante was more than willing to help by allowing the car to be dropped off so they could look at it first thing the next morning. Dante called to suggest we go to the manufacturer since he felt the issue would be covered by the warranty. He refused to take any money for the time they spent looking at the car, which is not very a very common.

When my daughter's 14 yr old wrangler started leaking fluid and making a horrible sound we had it towed to Benchmark Transmission in Newark. They were upfront with what was wrong, how long it was going to take and fixed it at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Benchmark Transmission we have had various car makes/models serviced by them. Always a pleasure!

These guys are great, and they really know what they're doing. If you decide to get any transmission work done, these guys are definitely worth it. They're really patient in breaking everything down for you, and they are truly invested in helping you make the best possible decision(s). After dealing with mechanics all over the US, I've got to say that these guys are some of my favorites. This place definitely comes with my top recommendation.

Byron Robinson-Dontae, and the staff at benchmark never disappoint! The service is beyond exceptional, timely, and at reasonable rates. Not only do they offer discounts, returning customers may luck up with something on the house! I had a transmission rebuilt and needed something adjusted that was outside of warranty. An issue from normal wear and tear, I expected to come out of pocket, but bc they carried the parts Dontae comped the bill! Regardless of it being a minimal amount, they didnt have to make any exceptions or show any favor! I also know nothing about cars, so I appreciated their patience and how informative they were! I also appreciate the efficiency and dedication to my satisfaction in a timely manner. I'd reccomend them to anyone

There was no SUPERIOR button so I had to choose Excellent... For starters I had my rear rebuilt on my K1500 Suburban and its never rode this smooth ever. Rear is quiet and doesn't miss a beat. This is a real business. I never thought I would say this but I cant wait till my transmission goes bad so they can rebuild that also!!! lolBIG THANK YOU FROM PHILADELPHIA

In a world of greed and dishonesty my mechanics take advantage of a persons ignorance. This was not the case with my experience with benchmark. They were honest and helpful and not out to make a quick buck. I will be going here from now on. Peace of mind knowing that your are in trusted hands is priceless!

Thought I needed a transmission fix, but these guys said I didn't need anything done after checking it free of charge. Talk about honesty. Would highly recommend to a friend.
