Omg Mr bill was the best. I called him when I wasn t quite sure what my car really needed he got me scheduled and when I took the car it was done in no less than an hour. Reasonable and I will only go to him. Definitely recommend

Want to get away from the big box auto repair stores?? Try Bill and his dream team. Initially I went for brakes. Proficiency is now my go to auto mechanic .

My wife and I recently moved to Millsboro and I had a brake leak and looked up repair shops in the area, I read the reviews and called and spoke to Bill the owner and set an appointment. I cannot say enough great things about how I was treated to the repair that was performed. Fair price and first class service! Will be going back for routine maintenance for both my and my wife's service in the future!! Highly recommend!!

I can't even leave a worthy enough review for Bill. We found ourselves in a bad situation when our car broke down on vacation, on the side of the road the day before leaving. We called half a dozen other shops before contacting Bill, all who didn't have time or the interest in helping us. Bill immediately was willing to do whatever he could to help us even when we were calling at closing time. He quickly gave us a super reasonable quote, offered to help get us towing if needed and kept in touch til our car was safely at his shop. All for people he doesn't know nor were previous clients. Our car was repaired, excellently I might add, by 945 the next morning! He single handedly changed the course of our vacation by helping us out regardless what he had going. Come to find out he just had surgery he was dealing with. He even followed up to make sure we made it home safe! This is the guy you want on your side and other shops should take a lesson from. Best service I ever had. I'm almost wanting to drive 3 hours to take my car to him! Amazing character, honest, reasonable and excellent work.If your not going to him already, you need to! We called Bill at Proficiency Automotive just as a tropical storm was starting as we were stranded with a dead engine. We called Bill just as his shop was closing up on a Friday night and he waited 2 + hours in a storm for the tow truck to drop off our car. He came in early Saturday (with the storm still blowing hard) and repaired our vehicle by mid-morning. His charges were very reasonable and I can t say enough to express how grateful we were to find Proficiency Automotive. They will be our go to automotive shop in Sussex County going forward.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

If I could leave 1000000/10 stars I would. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BILL. My bf broke down in front of Proficiency Auto and Bill was extremely friendly and offered us his help. Even without us having an appointment he called me the SAME DAY with a diagnosis. The very NEXT day he had our parts ordered and our jeep ready for pickup. He was super professional the whole time. The good reviews on this business ARE REAL. Bill is AMAZING!!! If you need a mechanic who s quick and efficient he s your man! Very reasonable and understanding. What you waiting for? Give him a call !!!

Bill was friendly and helpful from the beginning, we had an issue on a 2010 Ford Edge where the battery wouldn't charge and car would shut off, despite Changing the battery and alternator several times at other repair shops. Bill figured it out to be a loose battery wire that was overlooked , not the main ones. But anyway we're happy and we'd go back and thanks again!Services: Auto battery maintenance, Battery

These guys were life savers. I needed a CVT transmission placed in my Honda Accord. They picked up my car from my house and had it running perfectly in 3 days for a very reasonable price (Aamco in Seaford said 10K ) Living in the country you need a car to get around and these guys fixed my car right. Thank you so much!!

Can t say enough good things about this shop. Bill is a truely a good human being and a great mechanic. I m not a local but if I was, this is where I would take my vehicle for service. Stranded in a parking lot with 2 kids in tow, Bill was able to tell me how to manually get my truck started over the phone. Saved my trip home, my sanity and my weekend. 5 stars isn t enough. Thank you!

So far they haven't worked on any of my vehicles, But they will.I brought my truck to them for a loud noise in my engine compartment.Four other places that I took it to who diagnosed the problem and charged me told me that I needed a new engine.I brought to Proficiency....came unannounced....the gentleman came outside, listen to the noise and said you have a problem with your timing belt. He asked when I had it replaced and i told him within the past year. Told me to bring it back to whomever did the work cause is should be guaranteed....Didn't charge for for the diagnose...just an honest person, doing the right thing....a HARD to find commodity today.I WILL be going back to him......And yes that was the problem.

I highly recommend. I called left a message that I was stranding with my kids on the side of the road. He came right to us and fixed my van. Truly amazing. We need more people like this in the world it would be a better place.
