Unfortunately the emissions guy James was a huge jerk when I went. Asked me to leave my $20 (emissions fee) in car and that s all I heard from him. A minute later he came over to me yelling why am I not out of my car - I told him that I didn t hear that part and that there was still another vehicle in the emissions bay anyway. He again yelled to get out and that he doesn t give lap dances. I don t care how much stress someone s under, you don t talk to people like that. Why would I ever go there for service again?

Went on a Saturday for emissions testing. Well thought out set up and the tester was great ! Nice to interact with someone who actually is happy to help you !

James is a nice person with excellent customer service this is a great place to go do your car emissions place for your car emissions . I highly recommend this place for anyone that's looking to get their car emissions make sure you have your $20 cash a card that comes from DMV in in the mail stay in the car to James come up to then he'll take the car what you just wait. Yeah my car passed official. Fast and convenient.

I took my Escalade to the shop to have the fuel pump replaced. I thought about doing it myself but am extremely happy with having Shawn do it. He s a very good mechanic and person. It was done quickly and very reasonably priced. Thank you once again for being a honest and worthy repair facility.

Absolutely terrible service there is a black man working by himself basically and he is clearly over worked this job. He is not a service oriented individual and has very to little communication skills I'm sure he is unhappy and miserable but that give him no right to be unprofessional about the process

The place to go to get your emissions done in Wethersfield. James is the most pleasant person you will ever meet. He's friendly and engaging, but also keeps things moving along. Plus the Dunkin is right next door if you need a coffee while you wait!

Went there for emissions test. Technician was very friendly! 2nd time there, be prepared to wait a few minutes but they have their routine down. In and out in about 15 - 20 minutes. I'll definitely be bringing all the family cars here again.

Honestly I m not really one to leave reviews, but told myself that I have to when I get back home for - JAMES M. (And after reading all of the other reviews I see that he provides incredible services to everyone!!) James was polite, friendly, a jokester, and I had my emissions testing done in under 10 minutes!! ***They open at 8 AM and I arrived about 8:15 AM, with 5 cars ahead of me, so the only suggestion I make is to come in at 8 so you can be one of the first people out. Besides that, the test itself took less than 10 min. James- keep up the good work! You made my day and I think you deserve a raise! :)

Another fan of James! Emissions testing at Wethersfield Automotive was easy and efficient (I arrived before they opened at 7:45 on Saturday), but I am posting a review because --like everyone else -- we all like James. The raves you see below are all true -- James is the specialist whose personality and humor can break through your winter doldrums. He needs his own website! He made my day!

Had my emission tested, very friendly man doing the test, keeping everyone in a good mood even though he was very busy and it was very hot and sticky and poured down rain for a while.

Great Experience. Didn't have to schedule an appointment and emissions test was quick. James was great, knows what he's doing and has a great sense of humor. Call ahead to verify the documentation you need. Very reasonable charge also.

James at Wethersfield Automotive made emissions testing a delightful experience. It started with a phone call -- he was friendly, positive, patient, and knowledgeable on the phone. He has an efficient system for testing that moves any line quickly, so the wait is minimal. But his lovely personality makes you wish the whole interaction was longer. James legitimately made my day. I drove away with a smile on my face.

James was amazing! He got me in and out for my emissions and was so professional and friendly! I tried Firestone in Glastonbury before this and they had a wait time of one hour. I will definitely be coming back here for any service! Thanks James!

As you can probably read, everyone loves this shop... but if you have a unique situation and are not a regular CT vehicle, don't come here.I have a registered OUT OF STATE vehicle. I am only in CT for school and I simply needed two traditional forms filled out so that I can get a new registration sticker sent to me from my home state. Unfortunately, my encounter at Wethersfield Automotive was distasteful, rude service and complete refusal to even look at the papers. Go somewhere else!! Luckily, I went to another emissions shop and they happily filled out my forms. Literally any of the shops I called after this encounter was willing to help with this situation.....

Found these guys because of a Google search. Called them because of their Google rating and I needed my emissions testing done. Sean answered the phone was very pleasant, said at the moment there was a 10-minute wait. When I arrived I was greeted by James, a very cool personality. James completed the service quickly and professionally. What I found unique is that he genuinely appreciated my business. Other businesses could take note from how professional and appreciative Wethersfield automotive truly is.

When you go to an automotive shop, you've been conditioned to expect a general standard greeting and get whatever service it is you need completed. Not only was my service timely and convenient for my schedule (didn't need an appointment for emissions testing), but James created an unexpected and memorable experience for me. He was funny, professional, and over-the-top friendly. It wasn't just with me, but with the other customers that I witnessed him interacting with, too. Not something you'd expect from an automotive shop, for sure. I'll definitely be returning!

I went on 12/24 for my emissions. I have to say it was the best experience anyone could have asked for. The person taking care of the test was simply the best guy. Nice, courteous, and made you feel comfortable in the setting of Covid. This is my first experience at this business but it certainly left a great impression, all bc of the person I dealt with that day.

Went to this location for emissions testing after going to Firestone in Glastonbury and finding them temporarily closed. The person doing the the testing (James I believe) was extremely nice and made standing in the cold during a pandemic seem pleasant somehow. Will definitely be going to this location next time I need my emissions done!

Went to get our car inspected with the state. Afterward the E-brake did not disengage. Wethersfield Automotive was so great in helping me get back on the road instantly. Friendly, kind, amazing!Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Guy who greets cars is nice when he wants to be. I called the day after getting an emissions check and i had to put my new plates on. He answered then basically put me on hold bc he was talking to someone. He said hello again and i explained my need. He was very impatient and said well it's busy today so i can give you a screwdriver so you can do it yourself. Luckily my friend has a driver to let me use. Dont think ill be going back anytime soon
