I purchased a 2011 hyundai accent from this establishment in December of 2020. I paid in full for the vehicle upfront. The woman who owned the business looked me in the eye and let me know that they would not let me down for my first big purchase. They did not want to provide me with a warranty but ended up doing so at my insistence. My mistake here was assuming that an auto repair shop would've made sure the vehicle was in proper working condition and not getting an outside inspection of it before purchasing. Less than 1 month later, the engine failed. The cost of repairs was over $2000. West Haven Auto Sales did not help me. it did not warn me there was anything wrong. This car, listed at $4500, ended up costing over $8k after the taxes, fees, and repairs needed less than a month after purchase. The warranty I insisted on cost more for the diagnostic than they paid out. I recommend purchasing from literally anywhere else. I am now selling the vehicle that only has 100k miles, as both sets of brakes have since gone as well as the trunk and the hood no longer functioning within a year of purchase.

This place is amazing! My son had a car accident 2 days ago and I found the exact car he wanted on the website on Friday morning. I live 750 miles away and called and spoke to Vanessa who is awesome. She was so accommodating and helpful! By the end of the day, we had a done deal and my son picked up the car this morning. Such a relief to this mom. I would definitely recommend doing business with them. Thanks again!!

My husband and I have been in search for a specific vehicle and one came up for sale through this small family owned dealer and they were absolutely the most pleasant people to deal with. They list cars for a fair and decent price and aren t out to get you for all you re worth. I recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a used car :)

Great family run business Joe took excellent care of me and made the process of buying a car there easy. He definitely went above and beyond for me .one thing ppl do have to take note is this is a used car dealership and repair shop many ppl seem to think you can buy a 5 or even 10 year old car here and it will run and last like a brand new car no older car will be perfect and no one should expect a used car to be like a new car but if you want a good reliable used car Joe definitely has them. Like all used cars and cars in general they all will break and have to be fixed one day.

My sister and her husband went there to do their registration and a caucasian lady at the front desk there was extremely rude without cause to them with the nastiest attitude telling them that they do not accept cash, check or anything unless it's a money order from the bank. Not a moment later, another guy walked up and handed this lady cash for work there!! They ended up going to Stratford to do their registration and got the best service ever. We'll be sure to tell everyone we know to not go there! No one should have to deal with such bad service. The customers (no matter the race or ethnicity) should not be treated any less!!

Truly the Best experience I've ever had in purchasing a vehicle. When no other dealer would help in the financing of a car, this Wonderful family extended a helping hand putting me in a car that was so desperately needed on my part.Altho an older car, she runs incredibly, look brand new and has given me not one issue of a problem.Will I purchase another from West Haven Auto?ABSOLUTELY ! Without blinking an eye !Recommend by a very Grateful customer !!!

It was so nice dealing with what I believe to be an honest, respectable used car dealership. It was the best experience buying a used car I've had. Joe priced the truck that I wanted at a fair price. I was honest with him and he treated me like a long time client - which I wasn't then but I will be in the future. Don't buy anything until you check with Joe and his father first! They'll treat you the way you treat them - try it, you'll like it.

The most genuine car sales people I have ever met! I got my first car from the two years ago & for a used car it s the best car I ve had. I just went there for help with my lights because I had no idea how to change them on my new car & of course they were happy to help! These people go above & beyond! If you are looking for a family car dealer ship these are your people.

About a year ago I purchased an Acura from WHAS. The whole experience was fantastic. Vanessa was very helpful and took her time to show me a couple of cars. Never rushed me or made me feel like I was bothering her. A check engine light came on a day or two later, Joe quickly fixed it at no cost, even though the car was sold as is. The car has about 10,000 more trouble free miles on it. It is clean and everything works. I will need to replace another car of mine and have been watching their website daily for new arrivals. I will most definitely be buying my next car from these guys. Thank you WHAS for being so awesome! ADN

Everything went very smoothly and the staff there were very professional. The lady was such a wonderful person. Went thoroughly with my husbands purchase of the vehicle. Husband and I are very pleased with everything. Would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone that would want to purchase a vehicle here. Didn't even waited 30 minutes. Loved the service. I purchased a vehicle and paid full priceEverything was supposedly looked at and be road worthy.On the drive home, the check engine light came on. Failed O2 sensor and evap leak codes came up. It came with no much gas so the following day I filled it up. The gas tank started leaking badly. The next day the ABS / brake warning lights came on. I took the vehicle to my mechanic. After he went over it, the serpentine belt, tensioner pully and water pump are bad.Gas tank needs to be replaced. Transmission leaks. Oil pan leaks. Battery needs to be replaced.The list will grow, but I think I'll take it to the scrap yard. It's a money pit.Caveat Emptor.You sell your vehicles as is. Therefore, why would I tell you about it. You sold a faulty vehicle that is not road worthy. You don't need confirmation, the vehicle was sold as is.Unfair is what you did to me.The total for all the current repairs are $2347.00. I feel that the cost is greater than the value of the truck.Update, the computer and the fuel pump need to be replaced.

This place is great and the family/owners are very friendly nice people. I bought a Toyota 4Runner there and the same day the check engine light came on. I brought it to them and they put it on the computer and found the issue and repaired it at my next convenience. 2 thumbs up and 5 stars to these guys!!!

I purchased a 16 year old Chevy S10 truck. I liked the looks of the truck. It runs nice, looks nice, it is one that I could afford. 4 wheel drive. The Service engine light went on twice. They put new parts twice. The light is off. Same day service. No charge. Thank You. Family business.

BEWARE! Once you purchase if you have an issue.....I did and my personal mechanic was blamed. I never got a call back asking anything. So I just fixed it. Turns out on top of the electrical issue.it needed brakes,rotors, and it has a leaking rear seal, also they never even cleaned the car. They should be ashamed of themselves and I DO NOT RECOMMEND DEALING with them. I only gave them one star to be able to write this.��� I'm not going to turn this into a pissing contest but A phone call of some concern would have gone a long way.

These guys are hero's. I bought a private party car on June 22 and was looking at having to wait a month to get it registered. Vanessa gave me an earlier date, although they are clearly quite busy, and got the job done. Thank you for your help Vanessa and the crew at West Haven Auto Sales.

They were very nice but do not trust them. Bought a used car as is, the day I picked it up the struts were squeaking asked Joe to check it out he told me they were fine and didn't need to be replaced also asked him to check the timing belt and was told it did not need to be fixed. He sprayed the struts so the would not make noise. Two weeks later they were making noise again, he refused to fix them. Brought the car to a real mechanic and had to replace both struts and mounts, had no oil in the car and the timing belt is about to break it is so old. DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR FROM THEM THEY ARE DISHONEST. Thank God I had a trusted mechanic look at it otherwise I would have had to buy another car. What a jerk to lie to me just to make a sale

Beware I was sold a lemon 2005 Nissan Altima car engine went bad only 6 months after driving it and I have paper work to prove it! I went to George s nissan actual dealership on forest rd not to far from them and they set me up with a brand new 2018 Nissan Sentra. Avoid this place don t learn your lesson the way I did. The car I first wanted which was a 2010 Kia Forte they told me I couldn t buy it because it was a issue with the paper work on it so they say.UPDATE to their responseHow didn t you guys know you were selling a car with a bad engine? I mean that s not something very hard to miss if your a mechanic who knew this car so well this is what you said I drove the car for ONLY 6 months only put 3,000 miles on it. I wrote this review when I received my new car which was in February 13 of this year not last year like you said in your response. I didnt come back to resolve the problem engine problem because when I came saying my check engine light came on right after buying it (you must of cleared the code nissan said) you told me it was a sensor and not to worry it s minor(joe said) After my car broke down completely I went to the original dealer like I should have done to begin with. I have no reason to lie stop fruading you customers I am a college student I don t have money to just give if it wasn t for you have me sign a documentation saying it s sold as is because it was over 10 years I would have sued you for it. Like I said I have documentation to prove my car broke down within 6 months if you a car dealership who is selling good quality cars how did this happen ? People just go somewhere else I would not write this long review just for the fun of it in fact I never write reviews, but I really feel scammed it and I m just trying to help others from going through the same process. Let s not play these childish games and act like this story is not true like I said I honestly feel scammed.

I have nothing good to say about my experience purchasing a vehicle here. I was told the A/C worked in February when I bought it but I just paid $716.74 for a new compressor to be installed . A/C works great now! I was told the scratches would come out but the detail shop I took it to says they will never come out. This guy will say anything to make a sale. Beware.Now he reads my review and is saying I shouldn't have paid more than $179 for a compressor and then what? Put it in myself? What about labor? Freon?You are a joke Joe. You're making yourself look bad .

Had my truck for less than two weeks. Drove 2 hrs to get it and paid close to $8.000 for something I was told it would pass inspection. "It didn't" It has electrical issues, ball joints need replacing and headlight problems. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I buy all my vehicles from this place family owned operated it may be a small shop but they put more heart into what they are selling vs the bigger guys . They always take care of me and make sure I'm happy and will do the same for you .

They did a great job on my mountaineer, I thought I needed a transmission and it ended up being a small part in the transmission that I needed, ANOTHER transmission place told me I needed a transmission ) they save me a ton of cash ,These guys are HONEST and PROFESSIONAL.
