Kyle is very helpful and super knowledgeble. I'm amazed at how quickly he was able to diagnose and correct problems. His prices are very fair and he has great availability. I have never had a long wait when I needed help with my car. Added bonus is he gets right back every time I text him. I have been very happy with his work.

If your looking for an up front and honest mechanic, Kyle is your guy. I recently brought my truck to the dealership for a basic oil change and tire rotation and they told me my brake pads were worn and needed replacement, even gave me measurements of the remaining pad thicknesses. I brought my truck to Kyle for a second opinion and he showed me the actual thickness of my brakes, they were like new. Needless to say the brake job can wait. While it was in the shop I had Kyle replace some wheel bearings and fix my exhaust. He had quoted me a reasonable price before he started the work which I was prepared to pay, but when I came to pick up my truck the total was LESS! Kyle is really a stand up guy that won't take advantage of you. He understands the value of taking care of his customers and being 100% honest. People like this are hard to find.

Kyle went above and beyond with his service! I took my car in for new brakes, and he took the time to inspect my entire vehicle and let me know what maintenance will need to be taken care of in the future. He was extremely professional, thorough, and got the job done quickly. Very reliable. I will definitely be taking my car to him for maintenance and repairs in the future! Kar Auto Services came highly recommended. At first I thought another mechanic to take my money and not fix the problem.I was impressed with the service and the presentation received from Kyle, the mechanic. Awesome demeanor, humble and honest. He explained the issue and what needed to be done. If you are looking for an honest knowledgeable mechanic Kyle is your man for the job. Most positive car service I ve ever had. Called to inquire about a 100K tune up and we scheduled an appt for the following week. Not being a car person but knowing when noises aren t right, I figured there would be some additional things wrong aside from a general tune up. We got a call by 9a and kyle fully explained what each part was that he was recommending and what was wrong with the existing. The price was extremely reasonable but I was so impressed that he had everything fixed by the end of the day as well. Super personable, took the time to explain the car parts and how they work. I appreciated the time Kyle took to check over everything and not only let me know what he noticed that could be fixed/updated, but that he didn t try to push me into extra work. He told me what was needed and what could wait, was very honest and the price was definitely better than most places I ve been in the past. Kyle is an honest, respectful guy. He was able to work me in for an oil change and was flexible with appointments. Along with an oil change I had mentioned to him a few noises my SUV was making! He went through and did a safely check and made sure there wasn t anything wrong with my vehicle! He also replaced my air filter for me while he was working on my vehicle! I brought my older plow truck(1997 Mountaineer) to Kyle to diagnose and repair a coolant leak. He took my car in the same day, diagnosed the leak (coolant crossover tube under the intake manifold) within an hour and had my car back to me by the end of day. It actually died down the street and Kyle offered to come to me to diagnose the no-start issue before calling a tow. Highly recommend KAR auto!Service: General repairs & maintenance

If you want to get a sense for this repair shop and what it's like to work with Kyle, the owner, then please take a few minutes to read this review. I own a 2009 BMW M5, manual transmission, with 99,000 miles on it. I only drive this vehicle a few thousand miles a year. After being serviced at another shop, considered by many to be highly reputable, in the summer of 2022, I started hearing a low knocking noise coming from the passenger front tire area. I brought the car back to the "other shop" and they said it could be a clutch situation, but they will need to pull the transmission to full diagnose the issue. The clutch and car drove perfectly well, so I decided to not pursue repair until I felt it was really needed, but the knocking noise never went away. A couple of months later, a check engine light came on that produce an engine malfunction error. I brought the car back to the shop and they quoted $12,000 worth of repairs to include replacement of a catalytic converter, new rear brakes, new battery, the replacement of a power steering line, and a new clutch. When I brought the car to them again after the check engine light came up, I also notified them that my wife complained the emergency break was loose. The shop explained that the engine light was caused by the catalytic converter in bank 1 and the noise was the clutch. The e brake issue is because the rear brakes need to get redone. If you are familiar with BMW M5 parts, than you know they are super expensive, which for the shop helped justified the $12,000 estimate. With the car roughly being worth $20,000, it was hard for me to justify this kind of repair, and especially with how little the car gets driven. I went to another shop and received a quote for the same work, (based on the inspection and estimate of my original shop) and they quoted $6,000. I was then referred to Kyle at Kar Auto and he also produced an estimated cost of repair at around $6,000. I really appreciated how accessible Kyle was and how easy it was to communicate with him, so when I was ready last month to proceed with the repairs, I reached out to Kyle and towed the car to his shop in Tolland. Kyle immediately started evaluating the car and reviewing the scope of work. He reached out to me several times to make sure it was ok with me for him to inspect the car as opposed to just repair what I requested for him to repair. It was clear from the beginning of the inspection process that I was given very bad information by the previous shop. Kyle found no issue with the breaks and that they still had 7k to 10k miles left on them, which for me is a couple of years worth of driving. He then explored the check engine issue and determined it was caused by a coil and that the catalytic converter was fine. In fact, the catalytic converter the other shop wanted to replace isn t related to the cylinder that misfired. As for the noise, Kyle was able to troubleshoot it to the sunroof missing a gasket and the glass hitting the frame. My repair bill was $1500 with Kyle, and the car drives perfectly fine. I have limited experience with the mechanical side of cars and the relationship I have with my mechanic is a trust based relationship. I was ready to pay $6k for repairs, but Kyle is honest and has integrity and I will never bring my BMW anywhere else.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Battery, Oil change
