What a gem this place is. They are very professional and humble, You won t be ripped off like other places you go to. Barry & Zenon are great trust worthy mechanics that will take care you and so will everyone else. Highly recommend to anyone!

Everywhere I called had a 2 week wait for my car to get serviced. Once I spoke to Barry and shared the urgency, he got me in less than 5 days! My car was serviced in less than a day. They fixed my thermostat. Communication is top notch. Every time I called, someone answered. Very professional and customer service driven. My ride had low air in the tires and they pointed out and filled up the tire for free. I found my local mechanic!Service: Tires

My check engine light came on today around 8am. I called Pastir and They didn't have any appointments until Friday but after i explained the issue They were able to squeeze me in between jobs and had my car ready to go before the schools were out. I am so grateful!! I will definitely be back!!

I needed a last minute flex pipe replacement and Pastir was able to get me in and fix it without issue. They were very communicative, friendly and knowledgeable! I ll definitely be recommending family and friends to this place!

I would give these guys 10 stars if I could!!! I was In a really sticky situation and not doing well financially, I was stranded and needed help. They let me know exactly what I needed to get done and even though I couldn t afford it and needed to get on the road right away they worked with me on an alternative to get me back home!! The professionalism and kindness from them here is insurmountable and I will DEFINITELY be back as soon as I get paid to get the rest of my issues fixed. I recommend this place 1000000%

Most chill mechanic shop owner ever. I've probably been to about 20 different mechanic shops in my life and most of those owners and mechanics I dealt with seemed angry and/or miserable. Carlos, the mechanic, was also cool and efficient. Went in for tire swaps. Really appreciate that service. Thank you!

I had a bad experience with them. I was waiting for a return call back in regards to an estimate on repair. The guy at the front desk told me he would call me back by the end of the day to give me an estimate. I never received a call and the next day I called to see if there was a reason why he never called. He said that he was waiting for the Lexus Dealer to call him back and then he was going to get back in contact with me.For this I give this business a poor rating for unprofessionalism.Any other business who valued their customers would had called the customer to inform them of the delay not automatically expect that the customer could wait.

THERMOSTAT REPLACEMENTBarry is the MAN! he's friendly, very pleasant with his customers, he gave me a fair price, compared to the Auto Dealer, yes it was a bit pricier by about $50, but well worth it, the convenience of his business being local, near my area and not having to wait for it more than a 8 hr day of time was good enough for me to go here. Also compared to the other two Auto Shops I was considering, he was cheaper than one, up near my job (out of local area )and about $48 more than the other shopwhich was close to me, but they use AUTO ZONE Parts, he uses NAPA parts, so that is why I also went with them, and hello, same day service was a plus, I needed my vehicle back asap! no overnight nor extended days later to pick it up.I was so happy to knock it out and go back to my life during the holiday time.Thank you so much Barry, I will return for my vehicle maintenance from now on.Very well recommended by a personal acquaintance of mine from my job.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning

Barry is the manager and he's a super nice and friendly guy. I went in b/c my axles were blown and he got them fixed and ready very quickly. The price was very reasonable and I really appreciated the great customer service. Come here instead of a more expensive place like Midas!

I was considering buying a vehicle in the area and called Pastir Auto. I spoke to Barry and he was able to help me schedule a safety inspection before I made the trip from NJ. He even took it in later than expected and called me right away to let me know not to make the trip.Barry was very helpful and professional, and wouldn t even charge me since it didn t take him much time to realize it wasn t worth it. I also spoke to the owner Steve at one point who was also very helpful.If you re looking for a professional, honest experience, I highly recommend Pastir Auto.

Never again. Bad business. I brought my vehicle in for a front brake check and was given a quote for $600 for a basic front brake job. When I explained that I couldn't afford that at the time, I was charged $80 for the front brake inspection, and told it would be deducted if I decided to have my brakes done. I went to another reputable mechanic and had a great job done for significantly less money.I have since learned that many places do the inspection for free, and dealers may charge up to around $40, also deducted from the service charge. I just called again to question the charge and spoke with Barry. He explained that its a labor charge. When I mentioned other places including dealers were free, or charging half the price, he had nothing at all to say, except repeated its a labor charge.This place is the reason most women can't trust auto repair shops. Many of us might not be very well educated on the ins and outs of automotives, but we know when we're being taken for a ride.Service: Brakes

Barry is very honest few seconds talking with him he on computer finding best smart cheapest options for you. Very knowledgeableAnd his staff all very friendly very polite give you coffee for days lol. Everyone I met that works there is happy and customers I encounter today were happy and felt a family vibe here which I enjoyed.My car had blown cylinder another shop said few weeks till it looked at I m glad I went here same day service. He ordered the parts got them in hour put them on made sure my car was safe even check my tires and put air in them.I m not one for reviews but nice to feel when you step in somewhere your not attacked for dollars u didn t spend great people here I can t not express that enoughAsk for Barry you never have a issue everUpdate few months past this he continue helping me and my family on our cars and advice really honest guy that tells you truth you can t find that anymore he teach u anything you want known You want a great friend a great staff and a great place you never feel ripped off come here it feel like home if u like cars thank you for all you shown and give to my family and others

January was a rough month for the family cars. I had brake issues with my Jeep Wrangler and my wife had a tree fall on her Cherokee. After doing some research, I landed on Pastir, especially considering how close they were.After the service and advice they provided me, I have had only a wonderful experience. Barry was amazing at communicating the issues with our cars without making it overly complicated to understand. I'd definitely recommend them to a friend or family.

This is the ONLY place I trust with my vehicle! Everyone there made me feel especially safe (all wearing masks) and the cleanest repair shop I have ever been to. The Manager (Barry) I think his name his is very knowledgeable and the most friendly person around.Highly Recommend this place!Service: Brakes

Four bays yet only two mechanics. This shop could be very profitable under the right management. The potential being in the ideal location is perfect for someone to swoop in, renovate, and make this into a gold mine. There are many restaurants all around which makes it ideal for customers to drop off. With Firestone and Midas, along with others closeby the key is to have better customer service and exceed where they fall short. There are many parts stores so close that the need to jack up parts should be kept to a minimum.

Barry at Pastir Automotive is the best. I live about an hour away from Stratford and was coming into town to have a look at a used car I thought I might buy. I called Barry the day before my trip to ask if I might bring a car by for him to inspect. He was extremely accommodating and despite having a very busy schedule for that day told me I could come by with the car and he would try to help me out. He does a full inspection with a written report for about $120 where he puts the car on the lift and has a good look at everything. The car I was bringing him had a Carfax report of a prior account and therefore before spending $24,000 wanted an expert opinion on the condition of the car.I arrived at Pastir in the early afternoon on a Saturday to find that Barry was indeed busy, but as promised, he took a quick look at the car for me. He immediately found the area of repair that I had so readily missed. Once pointed out, it was easy to see the driver's door panel and adjacent front panel had been damaged and repaired. According to Barry the repair job was sloppy (I agreed once he showed me why) and most importantly pointed out that the two affected adjacent panels were not properly aligned suggesting the possibility of a bent frame. The front door and the front panel were no longer parallel to one another with about 1 mm of clearance (rather than 3 - 4mm) between the lowest point on the panels with the front door barely clearing the from panel when opened. If the panels were to settle at all the driver's door might not clear the front panel with a risk that the door could become obstructed and might no longer open. Further suggesting a frame issue was the fact that one of the bolts connecting the engine block to the frame under the hood on the driver's side next to the front panel was off by 1/2 inch from its original position. In 10 minutes he gave me unbelievably valuable information and did not charge me a dime for his help. THANK YOU BARRY!I went on to telephone my mechanic of 20 years who is 45 miles away and texted him some photos of the issue Barry raised as well as checked several other alignment issues (for example the front tires were not equidistant to the frame - the driver's tire was further from the frame than the passenger tire by about 1/2 inch). My mechanic concurred with Barry and I passed on this "great deal" despite the fact that the car was otherwise beautiful and exactly what we wanted. My mechanic also told me he currently had a car in the shop with a similar frame issue which required $5500 to repair.I am taking the time to write this review because Barry was so kind and helpful to a complete stranger in a way that one does not often encounter in today's world. If I lived in Stratford I would definitely use his garage for any car maintenance or repair issues. Since I do not, my only way to repay his kindness is to recommend you give him your business if you need an honest and reliable mechanic in Stratford.

I have a 2010, Ford Fusion Hybrid and it had stopped working. I towed it to a local shop where I live and after they kept it for 4 days, they informed me they did not work on hybrids and only did maintenance work to them.Frustrated, I had my vehicle towed to a Ford dealer and 3 days later, I was informed that the hybrid transmission went bad. They proceeded to give me an estimate of $11,200.00 (+ -) just for the transmission. Not for any additional parts or no labor included. I was told, they could only order and install a new transmission and not any used ones. They also informed me that, you can not rebuild a hybrid transmission. I began to think my car was trashed. Before making the final decision to trash the vehicle, I took a chance and called "Pastir Automotive" in Stratford, CT.I spoke with the service manager and he informed me, they had hybrid certified mechanics and could do any type of work to a hybrid. Again, I had my vehicle towed to their garage and the process began. Not only were they able to find a used transmission (32,000 miles on it) for my vehicle at $700.00 but, they handled every aspect of the service. From dealing with the distributor of the transmission, the delivery and installation. Total cost was worth saving the vehicle that had low miles and is economical with fuel.The service manager always kept me updated and never proceeded forward with any work without calling me first for approval. He also proceeded to inspect and take pictures of the new (used) transmission that was purchased and installed prior to the delivery service leaving the garage. I also received a 6 month warranty from the transmission distributor.Great customer service and perfessional.They now have a new customer. I highly recommend "Pastir Automotive" in Stratford, CT.

Took the vehicle in on a Thursday, didnt contact me all weekend,on MondayThey told me that I needed a distributor and I thought it was a lot of money $700, I found a cheaper place, and it wasn t the distributor lousy place, I would never ever go there again.They charged me$132,for no work done, Thank God I got my vehicle out of there.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Scott and his staff are great. My BMW broke a control arm and the part was nowhere close. This happened on a Friday afternoon. Scott had me back on the road Saturday. No one wants to be stranded in Connecticut when on your way across the country.

Got an oil change and my car has smelled like burning oil ever since and my heat has a smell to it too which was never a problem before.... Funny my last car that I took there had a funny smell to the heat and then it broke after an oil change. Hmmmm. If my heat breaks there is a pattern here and not a good one.

Barry and crew performed a pre purchase inspection on a car I was looking to buy and were super quick to schedule an appointment, were thorough with the inspection, and took the time to explain the diagnosis. Fantastic mechanic!
