My son and I broke down on the way to Boston. We are not from this area and when I googled car repair Shawn & Sons was the closest place. I called and they advised that we could be towed there and they would try to get us going again. They very quickly diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts, and had us back on the road in less than two hours! Ray was very welcoming and nice and our repair bill was very reasonable and less than the original estimate. I recommend stopping here for all of your automotive needs!

They did a great job. I had a unique situation, and they worked with me. When they didn t get a hold of me, they texted to make sure I had all the information on the repair and didn t start work until I approved it. Then, the truck was in good shape, and the final cost was the same as the estimate. I was recommended to Shawn and Sons and will not recommend them myself.

Looking for a local mechanic for my families cars. Where better to go than the community groups in town. Shawn & Sons came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. They were not only extremely knowledgable, but were just a pleasure to deal with.There were people from all over there when I was there, even though they moved away, they still make the drive to Shawn.The community is blessed to have such a business that is focused on the customer.I highly recommend them!

I was ran off the road in Oxford and had a flat tire. It turned out to be a much bigger project than a flat and I had to have some major work done. Between the insurance company and finding parts for a ford transit (which is very difficult to find now a-days) Shawn and his crew went over the top and made this process as simple as possible. True professionals. I will be recommending them to everyone I know. I just want to say thank you again for all of your help!-Chris

Beat garage around hands down. They have been working on my trucks for years recently brought them my wife s car after two other garages attempts at fixing failed Shaun and sons took care of it without a fuss! I also had an issue with my fuel tank in my truck recently. The repair was going to be 1000$. Ray took the time to dig through dodge service forms and presented me ab alternative idea. He said the problem with my truck is not under a recall but dodge had put a service bulletin out that if anyone was experiencing this issue they would be covering repairs. I never received a letter from dodge about the issue Shaun and sons would have been on their right to bill me for the repairs as they lay but they put money /profit aside to try and do right by me my car is at the dodge dealership currently getting all its major repairs done for free thanks to him

Long story short - my husband and I were traveling from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania with 3 horses on board. About halfway thru our trip (Southbury, CT) we blew a brake line. We safely got off the highway and started making calls. I won t mention names but we called 6 other places in the area (including Ford dealers), none of which had room or a technician to help us, even in our somewhat emergent situation (horses on trailer). One of the last places I called recommended that we try Shawn and Sons. I called and spoke with Ray. I explained my situation and he seemed hesitant at first, and I was ready to be let down - again. They did everything but!! Ray told us to safely get the truck to the lot and they would go from there. They would help us if they could. We made it to the parking lot and a technician (Paul) came out to assess the truck. He said he was 100% confident that he could fix it - pending they could find the part. After part searching for the next 30-40 mins the part was located and we went to pick it up. Ray, Shawn, Paul and the rest of the crew got us fixed up and as good as new!!! The horses were perfectly happy the entire time (believe me, if they weren t it would have been so much worse). We are so thankful and grateful for them getting us back on the road!! We knew they stayed later than they were supposed to but come to find out they had bumped at least one other customer to get us taken care of - who was understanding when they heard our situation. Again - we are so so grateful for all their help. If we lived near them we would use them for our everyday needs!!! Thanks again!!!Service: Brakes

Shawn and the crew were absolutely great. After a tire blowout on the highway, the tow truck driver recommended Shawn & Sons and I m glad he did. Sean is a great guy his sons polite . However the guy at the desk Ray , would put me on hold for 10-15 min and talk nonsense to the owner . I m just dumbfounded as to what this unprofessional man says about the customers . He reworded my concerns and now I m not welcome there ?? So very strange . I had an issue that stemmed from a speedometer that failed in March. I just want to shout out to ShawnDetlefsen and his Son and the wholecrew at Shawn And Son's for keepingmy sweet 98.5 tip top! I'mimpressed in every way the courtesyand willingness to send it back to mein perfect and I mean better thanbefore perfect working/running andelectronically sound order. Thank You!Shawn reached out to me within 4 days. Diagnosed the rear destroyed. Followed by 1/2 a dozen pictures of destroyed speedometer gear and bolts and nuts that fell out. He ordered the axle and suggested a suspension assist that he said would work great on the new rear. Also new drums shoes wheel cylinders and several brake lines later. Over the top repair. All dialed in better than ever. Great people. Honest. Quick turnaround. Fair pricing. Because these guys know their business and how to get the work done. I ve owned my truck since 2006.Never before has my truck made me so happy. Finally now I can go to work with my truck. Thank you thank you again. I approve this endorsement.

Shawn has done a lot of work for our cars over the past few years. He is honest and always takes the time to explain what is wrong with the car and what my options are. He goes above and beyond to make sure that my cars are in the best condition for my family. Safety is of the utmost importance, while considering budgets as well. I highly recommend this business. It is hard to find find a trusted mechanic these days. He treats his customers like family - he wants to make sure customers are satisfied and safe. I can t say enough good things about Shawn & Sons. I had an issue with my Mercedes and I couldn t make it to my normal shop. I called Shawn on a whim, last minute and asked if there was anything he could do. Even though he was booked and was down a guy, he still said to bring it in and he would take a look. While I was busy stressing out trying to find a car to use (I thought this would take days or weeks to fix) Shawn calls and tells me the car is fixed!Shawn is so personable, kind and honest! Shawn and Sons is phenomenal!!We had road force balancing done on our vehicle with them and the vehicle drives like a dream now. Not only did they do an amazing job, explained what they did, they also texted afterwards to check in on how the vehicle is.Like the other reviewer who mentioned having road force balance done with them, Shawn, you guys rock!! My 99 F 150 was running rough and getting noisy. Shawn correctly diagnosed the issues and did the repairs quickly and at a reasonable price. The truck runs better than brand new. S & S has become my go to for automotive work. Well done!

I had a wonderful experience at Shawn and Sons. On my way home from Boston to visit family, my car had mechanical issues and I was so worried being hours from home with a car that was melting down! I called Shawn and he had me come in immediately. He promptly identified the issue, fixed it for a fair price in a very timely manner, and I was back on the road to Boston in no time. He was professional, kind, clear, and had everything fixed in an extremely timely fashion. My sister, mother, and brother-in-law all take their cars to him. Thanks for excellent service Shawn!

I was in a tough situation with a car in need of repair while away from home. (The issue turned out to be a spark plug and components around it.) Shawn & Sons repaired the car correctly and quickly, demonstrating an exceptional level of skill, professionalism, and integrity.
