Went to return a $30.00 can of unopened glue , I had Lost the receipt , I had the credit card it was purchased with 10 days earlier ,but was told without receipt only a store credit could be issued ,I was ok with that, but when they did not have my phone number on file she told me rather tersely no store credit would be issued , I explained if they did not reimburse me somehow I would cancel the credit card charge ,the Manager with attitude told me to DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO. I left the can on the counter went home and contacted the credit card company and had it reversed. So much for customer service

No happy with your 6161 store manager. If you are going to take care of your customer, listen. Sure go ahead and say it might take a while but when someone tells you that they know all about how things work and don't need explanation, then you don't turn around and try to explain further into detail and try to make sure even more and you don't make assumptions that I don't want the charge simply because I said I was headed to an O'Reilly for other services. You just lost a valuable customer. Now at Auto Zone. Cool, they even let you borrow the readers.This whole event has cause a flare up with my Chrons Disease. Teach your management to be mindful before picking to have an argument instead.

Visited on 12/28/22 to buy oil. I was greeted by both employees. Store was well stocked and my cashier Robert was friendly and efficient. Also I appreciated that he asked if I needed an oil filter or windshield fluid.

Came in to return a undamaged product their computer froze and was told there was nothing they can do comeback somtime next week. After calling the better business bureau and corporate now they have a way to refund me. Nothing but problems from this store.

Nick from Putnam Advance Auto replaced my battery in the rain all while being very friendly and informative while I stood under the overhang. As I was leaving he was beginning to replace windshield wipers for another customer. It's nice to see a young person in the working world who actually cares and is friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks again, Nick and Happy New Year!!

I didn't catch the man's name who was in charge today 2/6/22 when I stopped in today around 3pm. He was an absolute nightmare. I was dropping off my used battery to turn in the core. The person ringing me up was doing just fine. This person who I assume was a manager was rude to me and the employee while performing the transaction. He spoke down to me for not knowing specific jargon. I had my battery and my return receipt ready to go for this transaction mind you. After finishing turning in the core I go to buy windshield wipers. I overhear this rude manager say to a customer's wife after she asked him a question "to not worry about it, your husband knows what I'm talking about." I was floored by this man's incredible rudeness and blatant misogyny.I go to checkout with my wipers. I choose the register with the younger male employee who had been just fine. I declined the extended protection plan on the wipers. The rude manager immediately tells the younger employee "that he needs better coaching". He proceeds to come over and start explaining to him how to upsell me in front of me. I told the rude manager to "please stop talking to me." He replies "Well, I wasn't talking to you."Absolutely unbelievable experience. He harassed me, a customer and an employee all within a 15 minute visit to this store.

On behalf of my father, Tim Leveille-On March 24th, a used switch unit was sold to me as new by Josh. When going to return it the next day (3/25/22), the manager, Kathy F., was rude and abrasive, claiming it was not even a part from the store . She labeled it as a defective part and told me to come back for a new switch unit the next day. The new unit given was the exact same unit as the one returned, only in a sealed package. She also said she talked to Josh who told her that he had shown me the unit in the package (which he did do) however, at the time, I had only looked at the part, not the packaging. Even while showing the package, one component (a water seal) was loose in the package which he noticed and put back discreetly. Then, while giving me the replacement, Kathy F. said that she put my name in the system as someone not to be sold to again and that I was never to come back to the store. I reiterated to her that she could call other local businesses to which I have been loyal to for decades to verify my honesty and integrity, but she refused. At this point, I didn't even want to use the replaced part, and while returning it unopened the next day, I told her she needed to figure out who was lying to her about the source of the used part, to which she said I needed to leave or else I would be removed from the store. When explaining the situation to others, many shared that they had had similar experiences at this store. I do not cheat or lie and I will not stand to be defamed, I am extremely outraged and will no longer be doing business with advance auto parts.

I purchased a CV Axle assembly for $101.99 on 3/11/21I came in to return the item and it has never been used, I have the receipt and it's not an electronic item, and was denied my money back because theres only a 30 day return policy. I've been using advance for years, so when I was informed to call the manager in the morning so she could over ride the return I did. She told me the fallowing day that it was months ago and that's a dated purchase. I wasnt feeling very satisfied as a repeat customer at all. They could have taken the return, it's an axel not a blinker light.

After being disrespected and feeling unsafe as a women, in a different auto parts place tonight I walked into Advanced Auto Parts in Putnam, a completely different experience Hunter and Nicholas, they were respectful, friendly, and helpful. A++ service will def be back!

had purchased a motor mount for a for Taurus. Well the customer never showed so I figured I would just return it and get my money back. I had lost the receipt. When I got to the store I stated I didn't have the receipt. Now I have had this issue in the past and was able to return the part when the employee looked up under my phone number. Well the reason I was given this time as to why they would not accept the return was because I had no receipt. This makes absolutely no sense! It shows on the computer screen I had made the purchase. U was told the reason they ask for the phone number is for the warranty, not for returns! Whaaat?!! Well its defective then and I'd like to use the warranty no. Against company policies. Over the years, I'm a auto technician by trade and have been for 25 years plus. I have spent thousands of dollars at mainly the Putnam CT store but also Brooklyn CT and Webster Massachusetts. You would think there would be some kind of loyalty program for us to hs that do alot of business with Advanced Auto. The part cost 36.99. I was told, we can't take it back due to it being against company policies. I'm writing this because I have never had this issue before. Why this time is it not allowed. Thats my rant. Yes, because of this one incident I will no longer be doing any business with Advanced Auto parts at any location. I realize this issue more than likely will not matter to this multi billion dollar corporation but it should. Long time customer signing out.

Decent help , decents parts and a good selection of basics . If you need it NOW this is a good choice , if you can wait, better prices are out there BIG TIMEI literally save over two hundred bucks ordering my alternator and battery for my Ford Expidition and they both came inside 48 hours .

Very helpful and knowledgeable no problem with tool rentals or parts or alternative parts. Do not go to auto zone in Putnam ct. Try these guys first auto zone sold me the wrong parts and wouldn't take them back also with tools. No knowledgeable people.

They did not offer assistance, but stood around chatting behind the counter.They had inadequate inventory of low cost items forcing me to buy more expensive alternatives.With so much competition in the area you would think service and selection would be a high priority to win market share.

Helpful staff. They tried to offer as much assistance as they could so I could repair my car and continue racing at Thompson Motor Speedway. In the end I came up with an alternate plan but it was nice that they tried and offered suggestions.

Won t accept headlight returns despite their website saying a part would fit. Go elsewhere.

I called to make sure they had my starter. The guy confirmed it and told me to place order online and come pick it up and would save me 20% well i did and got 25% off. Very cool and glad he looked out for me

Guy was helpful so helpful he sent me to another store stating that my part was there. Went to their brooklyn store to find out the part I needed wasn't even the correct one. Wasted my time ended up going to Napa. Maybe you should hire people with automotive experience not from McDonald's. Cant rate no star's dam it

one star , for being clean...other than that, bad service, carefree attitude about getting things correct and on time...so pretty much they just tell you what you want to hear..."oh yeah we can have that tomorrow" ahh no lies lies lies...just saying!!!...stood in line before, just to get a headlight bulb, watched them take two customers who walked in after i had been waiting in line for half hour...i walked out. really advance? come on get your sh#@ together. putnam

I purchased an alternater for my murano, 3 months later the advance Auto parts alternator died on me, it's a 3 1/2 hr job, it cost me $350 for installation, they would reimburse me for the junk they sold me. They another junk alternator instead, would you spend $350 to put their junk in. I will never purchase anything from advance Auto parts.

The part that I needed was listed on their website as being in stock (12). I drove all the way there and the cashier said she had one, but it $27.00 (online site said $7.67). After waiting several minutes cashier came back and said she didnt have any!! Very frustrating!!

I buy a lot of stuff here. My biggest complaint is the wait time. There should be a line for people that are just grabbing a couple of items. You could stand in line for 15 minutes to get a quart of oil.
