I was looking for a mechanic in the area and I m so glad I found hometown garage. Jessica was friendly on the phone and got me in the very same week. Once I arrived, they offered me a ride home and even offered for me to be picked back up to get my car when it was ready.I really appreciated the system they had in place for fixing vehicles. They send you an estimate via text which allows you to approve or deny the services they re recommending and they even upload photos of your vehicle so you know exactly what you re looking at. I ve never had a mechanics utilize a systemLike this and I thought it was perfect! I definitely will be back again.

Went in for a simple oil change which was done quickly. But the courtesy check discovered some problems that could have meant real trouble. The staff are friendly and honest.

First, I rarely leave reviews .but with Hometown, I will make an exception.I use Hometown Garage for all of my car repair needs. Recently I brought in my F150 for leaking coolant. I also bring my Toyota Sienna in for past repairs. As always, they found a way to make sure my truck was looked at as soon as they could with great communication using their text alerts as to where in the process they were. They send pictures and a detailed report on what they find wrong. Simple to agree to their fair pricing on the repair, and again great communication when I could pick it up!They have always taken great care of me and my vehicles to keep them running on the road for all of our family needs. I can t thank them enough and we as a community are lucky to have a honest, fair and terrific repair shop here in Portland. I d highly recommend them for almost any of your repair needs.

I chose this place because all reviews were 5 stars. I had some issues with my car and needed it to be towed there. They were ok with that. In the end, all was ok and my car was good to drive back home. Price was fair. The staff were nice guys and if I ever need something repaired again I would definitely bring my car back to them. Thank you for your services, guys!

We noticed that my brakes were getting soft so I called Hometown Garage on Monday afternoon and they were able to get me an appointment for Tuesday AM for the brake work needed. I spoke with Jessica who shared my concern and was very pleasant and accommodating. Jon and Megan (owners/ operators) run a very professional business. Jon is very hands on so often you ll find him working on vehicles himself and not just in the office. They both grew up in Portland so they have known many of their customers for a number of years. As small business owners they are passionate and truly care about the work that they perform and the trust that their customers put in them. I ve always been treated very well at Hometown and I know that they have their customer s safety and best interest in mind. Portland is very fortunate and should be proud to have Hometown Garage among their list of exceptional small businesses. I highly recommend them for your auto repairs. Absolutely fantastic people and I didn't even get to meet them. I was having trouble with my transmission and had some hard times at other shops. Home town Garage was able to find and fix the problem at a fair price and all over the phone, due to my working third shift, they were extremely helpful and safed my car! Thank you

After hitting a tire on the highway I somehow got my car to Home Town Garage with the undercarriage shield dragging and scraping. They calmly evaluated the problems and did the necessary repairs. The bill was very reasonable - they put things back together, instead of trying to sell me replacements.John and Al are nice, kind, and truly professional in all ways.I ll definitely be going back for regular maintenance and repairs.

Everything went fine so far so good with Hometown garage but there's a problem I'll let you know because I never know how to use this phone correctly and I don't feel like fill out these surveys all the time because I didn't have a trip I didn't have any of the repairs that you give a question for she's a little

Hometown went out of their way to help me get my car fixed by dropping me off at home, fixing my car, and picking me up all quickly so I could be in time to pick my son up. The guys are so friendly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs work done right, appreciates friendly and helpful service and for a fair price! John, Ed and everyone at Hometown Garage have always been fantastic! I have been going there for years now with many different vehicles for all kinds of repairs and the experience has always been great. The entire experience was great at Hometown Garage. It was nice dealing with the actual owner of the business--I knew he would want to make sure I was happy. They did a very thorough assessment of the car and gave me some recommendations of work that should be done, but there was no pressure to "sell" me the work. I ended up having front brakes done on their recommendation and the work looks and feels tremendous. I definitely recommend the friendly, competent folks at Hometown.Services: Brakes, Oil change

John and his crew quickly found the problem with the brakes on my vintage British car, which meant that they had to rely on old school diagnostic tools-their brains and experience- instread of computers!They also fixed the ancient AC system. Work fairly charged. They inspire trust and confidence. Highly recommended.

As a single woman, it is so important to me to find mechanics who are trustworthy, honest, respectful, and explain things without condescending. Ed and John at Hometown Garage do such a good job at taking care of my car and taking care of me as a customer. They have real integrity and I'm so happy I found them. Do NOT go to the "big guys" across the street -- they're NOT good mechanics and charge ridiculous prices. Go to Hometown Garage-- they are great mechanics, charge fare prices, and treat customers well.Service: Engine repair
