I don't trust this place. I went in for the free brake inspection because I could feel my Ridgeline surging/pulsing a bit when braking.I purchased the truck less than 5k miles ago and the dealer had replaced the front rotors and pads. Brakes were fine up until a couple of months ago. I thought maybe something went wrong but I certainly didn't expect them to say I needed a complete brake job front and back. Their report said the front rotors were heat checked and close to the end of their useful life. The front pads, they said, were worn and uneven and close to their useful life. The rear parts were described similarly. I couldn't afford the $1000+ for this job, so I decided to do it myself.I replaced my front brakes today. I was shocked that the rotors and pads looked almost brand new! Basically as I'd expect brakes with 5k miles on them would look. I noticed that one pad was not sitting correctly in the caliper and one of the springs clips on that pad had broken. To be safe I completely changed rotors and pads since I already started, but I think that could have been my issue. I didn't touch the rear and probably won't considering my issue is gone during my test drive. The brakes are perfect now.I cannot understand how they could have reported the condition the way they did. I just needed a repair, maybe just new pads, not a complete brake job. I've included pictures of the parts I removed...the parts they said were at the end of their useful life. Judge for yourself. I guess I got what I paid for, which was nothing fortunately. But I wouldn't trust this place to ever touch my cars.

Absolutely have complete trust in the Plainville Ct Firestone business. They have managed the care of my car since arriving back to CT in 2016. My car is almost 19 years old and the are doing the utmost to help me prolong my car Couldn t ask for better mechanics. Absolute faith in these men

First time at this Firestone location. It was simple to make an appointment, store location has plenty of parking, and staff are helpful, professional and friendly. Store is clean and waiting room is comfortable. This visit was for a tire swap, to put on snow tires, and an alignment. No repair. But they did find something related to a recent repair I had done at a dealer. They advised me to go back and have them address it. I can recommend this location.

This is the absolute BEST experience I've ever had with auto service. The staff are knowledgeable and wonderful. They kept me apprised during the whole process. And the prices are reasonable. Please thank Dave, Brad, Joe, and Brandon for me!!!

This place has a total disregard for their customers. I set up an appointment at the store to get my transmission fluid changed and they took down my vehicles information and gave me a price of $220. Today I bring the truck to get it serviced and next thing you know they are jacking up the price by $560 to $780. The sales guy is saying they didn t have the information and we re only aware of the price change this morning. I personally can t see how a company can operate like this and keep its customers. I for one not only am I frustrated I feel like I wasted my time and my friend s time that was helping me drop the car off. So if anyone is going to this store triple check on the cost so you don t get I surprise like I did!

Ron Gagnon & the Mechanic s that work for him are the best! I ve done to Ron for 15yrs. He is always very professional and friendly and more importantly he is honest and trustworthy. I have dealt with other places that took advantage of me. So when I found someone that was honest and a great mechanic, it was a no brainer. Not only did he not over charge me for stuff I didn t need done. He actually saved me from spending money on a new car when I thought my car wasn t worth fixing. He checked it out throughly and said it was well worth fixing and did just that. I have referred family members and friends and the have had great results also.

I used to like this place but I won t bring my car here anymore. I had to bring my car there twice for something that they should ve caught the first time. This was time consuming, and I had to spend money that I didn t have. When I called them for them to rectify the problem, I was given a bunch of excuses. I took my car to my normal mechanic ( he didn t have openings at the time that s why I took it to Firestone) and he confirmed what I already suspected. More money out of my pocket. As a person who loves cars and knows the workings of them, I knew that something was wrong from the beginning, but I still gave them the opportunity and brought it to them a second time, and again there was a problem. I was asked why I didn t bring it back a third time?. I feel that when you ve done a bad job two times I shouldn t have to bring the car back again for you to do a bad job a third time.. If I could give them NO stars, that s what I would give them, this is why they got low ratings on their website. Beware.My money should have been returned.

I drove into the parking lot with what seemed like an emergency with my car's starter, and also, it turned out to be battery trouble ( needed a new one) , and Joe, at the Service desk, and the mechanic who discussed my car's diagnoses with me, were very helpful and caring the other day. Jane.

Great place to all kinds of car service. Especially helpful on tires and snow tires. Got me in as promised and completed as promised. Work done well and communications by email and phone was very helpful and informative. Will repeat my business there and recommend to others.

Took my truck in for an alignment. They were unable to provide me with a printout of the alignment numbers, meaning no proof or recording of the work done, and offered no resolution when I brought this up. There appears to still be positive camber on the wheels. This was my first and last time coming to this shop.

Didn't have an appointment for emissions testing and they pretty much rolled me right in. No waiting for service. I was there for approximately 20 mins. Service with an unexpected sense of humor. Would recommend this Firestone.

Wonderful service by Brad & his team. I was visiting the area this past weekend with my teenage son when I experienced an issue with my Jeep Cherokee running hot to the point of nearly overheating. I stopped in around 10:30am Sunday, explained my situation & that I had a nearly 5 hour drive ahead of me to get home that night. Despite them being busy with booked appointments, Brad took a look at my Jeep & didn't feel comfortable just putting coolant in & sending me on my way. They took it in for an inspection & found the radiator was leaking. They went right to work to replace the radiator & thermostat and had me on my way in less time than originally estimated. Although the situation was less than ideal, they did everything they could to help me out when they could have just said no they were booked. Truly appreciate all they did & highly recommend Firestone Complete Auto Care Plainville CT.

I called at 3pm and asked if they could do a wheel balance for my car today. They said as long as I made it before 5, no problem. Dave greeted me, very kind and gentle demeanor, and asked if I wanted to apply for a Firestone card to get $20 off today. I was declined a couple times in the past. But to my surprise I was approved. Overall excellent experience.

Stopped in 15 minutes before they have to stop doing CT emissions testing (1pm on saturdays). They did the test quickly and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Friendly service workers

Brought my vehicle in to have all 4 tires mounted and balanced with new tires after completion of the job the steering wheel would shake at 65mph. The very next day after Firestone mounted and balanced the tires I went to the dealership to have a 4 wheel alignment, after getting that done the steering wheel would still shake at 65mph. I call Firestone to express my issue the best they can do is schedule me an appointment a week out to look at and rebalance tires, so I take it and wait a week hoping to resolve the issue. I drop the car off and when I go back that day to pick it up I m told there was no issues with the balancing of the tires. As soon as I hit 65mph the steering wheel shakes! So the very next day I bring the car back to the dealership, they end up balancing the front tires and inform me that the weights on the tires were way off and not even properly applied, that the weights were spaced apart. Needless to say as soon as I hit 65mph there is no shaking in the steering wheel finally problem fixed no thanks to this Firestone. I called and expressed my issue with the store, but as you could guess they didn t seem to care, saying that they haven t had anyone else call in the past weeks saying they had a issue with there tires. Not worth even dealing with this place seeing that there are so many other options around to bring your vehicle!Service: Tires

My wife had her brakes done and they were not working properly within six months. Returned to Firestone to repair the issue. Made an appointment for eight in the morning. Car was there for nine hours. Upon picking up vehicle we had the same issue. We made another appointment for the following Saturday. Again dropped off night before appointment was for 8. Car was still not ready after another 8 hours. What is the point of making an appointment? I guess warranty customers don't receive priority. We will never use this facility or any other Firestone.

THIS PLACE WILL CON AND SCAM YOU. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION IF THIS PLACE SAYS YOU NEED MORE WORK!!!! THIS PLACE IS BRAND NEW AND WILL DO WHATEVER THEY CAN TO GET OUT OF THE RED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GO HERE!!!This is absolutely one of the worst places to get work done one your car. I have been here a few of times. First I bought new tires. I had no problems and got 4 new high end tires. Next I went to get my brakes done. They told me I needed new rotors. I saw the rotors they looked fine and not thin. But I don't know a lot about cars so I had them done. I live one mile from the place when I got home my driver side wheel well was smoking and giving off extreme heat. I brought it back right away. They said they put a brand new rotor that was warped on and they replaced it. But this time when I got the SUV back when I curved or turned to the right I would get rubbing, bumping and friction from that same wheel well. MY SUV HAS NEVER DRIVEN SMOOTH AGAIN.Next I some how got two flat tires. I had two screws impailed in 2 tires. Both where in the thread of the tires. I went to this place to get them plugged. They told me I needed new tires. I have never seen new tires needed when the puncture is in the tread. So I said I was going to get a second opinion. I went down the road and they looked at the punctures and said not a problem and plugged them up right away.

I had two separate engine diagnostics done at Firestone in a two week span due to my car stalling intermittently. The first diagnostics I was advised to change my engine oil temperature sensor (has nothing to do with stalling) and change my catalytic converter. Firestone quoted me over $1,000 more than another exhaust shop so I got the catalytic converter done elsewhere. Car still stalling, back to Firestone for diagnostics. No check engine light on when I brought it in and after having my car overnight they called and told me I need a new alternator because there s oil on my current one . I asked where the oil is coming from no answer and was told I d have to change the alternator there to find out. Was charged again for engine diagnostics. Never coming back here.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Don't waste your time. They certainly wasted my time. I scheduled an appointment through their website to have shocks and springs replaced on my car. I told them in scheduling of the appointment that I would provide the suspension since they don't carry the suspension my car needs. Brand new, in the box suspension. When I got there for my appointment the employee looks up my appointment and immediately starts giving me an attitude. He says I never received an email from Firestone regarding my appointment, which I did. He then says it doesn't matter whether I got an email or not because they won't install any parts that don't come from Firestone. If this is true then why didn't someone from Firestone call me or email me to tell me this? Instead, they have me drive all the way out there just to refuse to fix my car? What a complete joke! Go down the street to Pep Boys. They are going to fix my car and from now on will get my business.

Went in with a low tire pressure issue. Didn't have an appointment. They figured out quickly that a had a screw stuck into my tire. They were able to repair it. Since I bought the tires recently from there it was under warranty and it didn't cost me a thing. I was out within an hour.

Fantastic staff that focuses on customer service, and the best looking and cleanest repair shop I've seen. This place wowed me enough to write a review, which I usually don't do, but they were honest and courteous when I had to replace the brakes on my truck. They checked everything I wanted them to check, and put no pressure on me for extraneous services or repairs. They took my truck in right away as I returned to work, and stayed in communication with me about what they saw, just like I asked. They also have an immaculately clean shop and customer waiting area, helped by the fact that they're new, but still, a pleasant change of pace. Dealership comforts at neighborhood garage prices.

Everyone was nice, and they did a good job and had a good price, but a job that was supposed to take 1.5 hours took 3.5 hours. To be fair, they did say they were running 20 minutes behind when I got there for my appointment, but this much extra time is a bit ridiculous for 4 tires and an alignment

Good service, honest mechanics. Saved me 100 bucks for a tire sensor that they did not break during disassembly while fixing a leak from the valve stem. They could have easily "broke it" and charged me. They didn't!

Called that i was running late and Mike adjusted my appointment, arrive 15m late car was taken right in and Austin did an amazing job mounting the tires balancing and then aligning the suspension! out in less than 2 hrs total for all! this shop is truly one of the good one, advanced mounting and alignment equipt too! BONUS for my low profile tires!

I ll never go here again. Worst firestone I ve dealt with. I dropped my car off at 7am to get a front brake job, 4 tires, and an alignment. They gave me a pickup time of 2pm. I never got a call that it was ready. I went to get it around 4pm and it was sitting on the lift still with no tires. I left and got dinner and called around 5pm to see how much longer it would be. He told me they need to put on the tires on and do the alignment and it d be ready in 45 minutes. I waited until 6:45 because they close at 7. Still no call. When I arrived my car still had no tires and the alignment wasn t done. They also obviously didn t test drive my car to make sure brakes were good. I told them forget the alignment I ll come back for it. When I drove away not only were my brakes still making a noise every time I brake but they also never put my old tires back in my car which I told them to save for me because they were still good. I got my tires back and drove my car a little to see if the noise would stop. The noise has yet to stop and I brought the car back to be checked again. Now they want to claim they don t hear any type of noise and they used a stethoscope and only heard a little noise from the left front wheel bearing. Now they want to quote me another almost $400 to do this. NO THANKS!! I ll be going somewhere else for another opinion because I m convinced they didn t do the brakes right. These guys just want to make you pay pay pay for work that doesn t need done. They gave me 2 free oil changes for the inconvenience of waiting all day without the job being completed but when you go in the service advisors seem miserable. I should have read the reviews before taking my car here. This shop should be shut down with how horrible the service is.It s ridiculous it took all day for these simple jobs to be performed on my Toyota Corolla. Mind you I ve worked in the automotive industry and have never seen it take this long for these kind of jobs especially on something as simple as a corolla.
