Brian has been at that same location for over 40 years and treated me with the best care and attention. My brakes were way beyond shot and i was ignoring it because of what a previous car repair shop was telling me. Glad I took it to National Transmission. They do car repair too.

Brought my Pilot in to get transmission checked out. On the way in the alternator died. Despite not being their specialty, they took it on along with a full transmission inspection. The team did a great job and were unbelievably thorough checking out my transmission and fixed the alternator. They are a small shop so may be easy to get appointments, but if you want it done right, and honestly, they are the place to go.Service: Transmission

Brian helped diagnose my transmission failure and fixed for a reasonable cost. Otherwise I would have to go for a complete transmission rebuild/replace, which would cost $2000-$3000 for my 10-year old car. I have worked with crooked mechanics in the past and I really appreciate Brian's integrity and thoughts for clients.

If you have any automotive mechanical issues (especially transmission) this is the only place to take your car for an honest approach and fair pricing. Brian and his team will do their best to provide upfront estimates based on their analysis. Once they open the can of worms I typically bring in, they do a great job making sense of things and getting me back on the road.My family has been a customer since the 1980s and will continue to be as long as we're in the area.

I brought my 98 civic for a diagnosis on the transmission. Within less than 24 hours, they lost my car key & didn't feel the need to tell me until I called them to check up on the status of the car. Luckily I had a spare key. They refused to pay for the additional copy of the key & told me to keep searching the car. They quoted me at 4500 for transmission repairs without an explanation of what the car transmission required or what the issue was. The person who answers the phone is very ditzy and has no customer service experience. He barely knew who I was when I walked through the door even though I spent 30 minutes on the phone explaining the issue with the civic. Instead I went to Croce's Transmission & I'm happy I did.

I was on a trip to NY when my car broke down and I had the luck to find Brian at National Transmission. He was great about fixing my car fast and got me on the road in record time. He even fixed my front seat for me as it wouldn't stay put. Great attitude and very helpful. Sharon who works in the office let me know exactly what I would pay for the job and kept me company while the car was being fixed.

The most competent and skilled trans shop in our area. Fixed my suburban quick and for less than anyone else. If it has wheels, Brian can fix it. He used to work on my Dad's cars and my dad wasn't the easiest to please.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

If I could give this negative starts I would.I went in with a transmission problem and they tempted me with a free inspection. Only to find out that they held my car hostage after I pay the labor fees which wasn't even displayed properly. They ever charged me more than what their board displayed and tried to refund me after I heavily complained. Best part was, they were changing the price on the board with a marker as I was leaving. Unbelievable.The owner basically did everything a crooked mechanic would do in order to maximize the advantage over someone who has little knowledge of cars. Bait and switch prices, faulty and repetitive repairs, and no consideration for their reputation. Avoid this place at all costs and find a more reputable repair shop.

Had an issue with a project I was doing, and brought it here to have the professionals get me un-stuck. The owner has worked there for 45 years, and owned it for over 20. It's a great shop that does great work. All work was done within a reasonable time frame, for an excellent price for a specialty shop.I will make sure to recommend National Transmission to anyone I know.

I brought my car into National BMW of Darien tried to rip me off. Grant couldn't have been nicer or more competent. Highly recommended.
