I have been taking my cars here for 5+ years. Tom and his team are super knowledgable and helpful. They are quick, reasonably priced, and it is always easy/possible to make an appointment. I highly recommend working with them if you need auto support!

Had a terrible experience today. Took my car there for an alignment explaining that I was told that that was what was needed to stop the noise. The noise started after the wheels were rotated and I was told by the other place that all it was needed was an alignment. The person today after hearing my explanation mentioned that sounds like something else. I wouldn t have mind paying to get the real problem fixed. Was under the impression he was going to let me know if it was something else needed to be done. Got the car back with the noise and was charged for the alignment. My previous mechanic used to always call me and tell me what needed to be done to fix the problem going far and beyond to ensure safety. Sad he is no longer around can t find a trustworthy place that is actually willing to help .

Came highly recommended from another service center. Relatively straightforward project of wheel alignment on 2017 Corvette. Setting up appointment with Tom was great. I was 1st appointment, got right in. Shop was clean, Dave performed work was also clean, professional and respectful of my car. Tom explained before and after alignment printouts and everything came out great. Car drove perfect. Lot had quite a few cars to be worked on which is also a good sign for a business. I had a good experience and would definitely use them again.

Highly recommended--I've been here for car service a few times and always had a great experience. Just today, they managed to squeeze in a last minute repair on my breaks on a very busy day. They were honest that they might not have time that day (I came in without an appointment) but were able to get it done. Before that, they did a big job on my exhaust system and breaks after the dealer told me it would have exceeded the value of my car. They have also installed my tires via Tire Rack.

DO NOT GO EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!!I spoke with Tom and he was extremely rude and impatient. He looked at my 2012 Honda Crosstour and gave me a quote for my driver window regulator and motor replaced. He quoted me $690. I asked him to give me a break down of the costs and he said it s 450 for the regulator and motor and $240 for labor and parts. It s very simple math. This was the first time he broke down the cost for me and was over the phone and refused to email me information to look over. The reason I asked for a break down was because I was seeing online the parts were $70-100 so how did he get $450?? He said I was looking at the wrong parts. I asked him to email what the parts are for me to research. He said forget it we don t want to do business with you and hung up on me. Therefore, I went to another shop in Stamford and they quoted me $400.

I recently brought my BMW to Auto Repair Specialists for a nagging engine problem. (This after 3 unsuccessful trips to the dealer with a total cost of $1800). I was immediately impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. They took the time to properly diagnose a rather obscure problem with the Crankcase Ventilation system and repairs were made that fixed the issue 100%!This car has never run better! Their pricing was completely reasonable considering their use of top quality parts and the very high skill level of their technicians.I will definitely return to them for all my future automotive needs and highly recommend them to all my friends and colleagues.

Brought my car in for brakes and an oil change, had to bring my car back twice because the brake pedal was going to the floor, also they overfilled the master cylinder with brake fluid. Also, every service I specifically ask them to check my transmission fluid (closed system), they say they do and even indicate on the bill it was checked, after a heated and rude conversation with Tom, he even hung up the phone on me, brought my car to another shop to be checked and my transmission fluid was low 2.5 quarts, system holds 9.5; Tom likes to smile and sweet talk but does not perform!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I recently moved to Fairfield County CT. I am an A.S.E. Certified Master Technician that teaches automotive technology at a trades and technical high school in Westchester County NY. This past summer, I experienced a problem with one of my vehicles that needed immediate attention. After asking around for recommendations, I wound up at Auto Repair Specialists. Tommy and his crew were great! My problem was diagnosed correctly the first time, an estimate was given, and the repair was made on time and for less than the estimate! These guys did not know that I was a professional technician until after they returned the vehicle to me. These guys are so honest it hurts. Have brought my 17 year old car there for 4 years. They've never charged for unnecessary work. In fact, several times they found small repairs when I assumed major issues. Much better mechanics then the dealer. Only thing is that sometimes they get backlogged.

They Charged Me $2800 To Replace My Front/Back Brakes & Rotors Amongst A Couple Of Other Things. When I Drove Home My Break Pedal Touch All The Way To The Floor, and My Car Had Barely Any Stopping Power. Causing Me To Bring It Right Back In Less Than 30 Mins. After Spending $2800, When I Brought It Back To The Shop The Owner Tom Said It Must Be The Master Cylinder, Which He Said Is Going To Cost Some Additional Money. Out Of Everything In The Car, The Breaks Are The Most Important, And Is The Main Reason I Brought It In Smh. After All That, The Breaks Weren't Even Done Correctly. I'm Just Thankful That I Didn't Get On The Highway. Therefore I Can Not Recommend Anyone To Auto Repair Specialist On Van Zant Street. For $2800, The Least They Can Do Is Make Sure My Breaks Are Working Properly. Mechanical Negligence At Its Finest.

Recommended highly by Ken at Norwalk Auto Craft. I used Auto Repair Specialists twice previously this past year for repairs totaling $2,500 on two cars. Needed new front wheel bearing & hub assembly. Was told the cost was $321 for the part for each side. I told Tom I saw reputable mfr parts for $100-125 new (Timken, Moog). Tom told me I couldn't get that part for $100, no telling where it came from, must be shoddy quality. I asked again later if he was sure of the parts price before agreeing to proceed.Parts from Auto Parts Int'l were billed at $643.64 as estimated. Tom pd $201. While I have no issue with the typical markup for labor ($96/hr), Tom made $442 for parts costing $201. Standard markup is 40-50%, meaning an item w/ a $200 cost would be marked up to $360-400. Worse yet, he directly lied to me saying you couldn't find that part for $100 when that's exactly what he paid. Quality work but be prepared to pay MSRP (an artificially high number) on parts, not the typical markup.

my car got a flat so i AAA my car to this garage. keep in mind I live on brooklyn. These dudes were so polite, patient and thorough on the phone even when the garage was busy. Id give em a smooch if i could and im straight.

Mulqueen and Mitchell is gone, its now Auto Repair Specialtists, ive had my vehicle served there MANY TIMES, Tom and the guys are great, professional service and I dont feel like they are trying to empty my wallet! Honest and fair.Thanks Tom!

The guy told me that he can look at my car if i go there now. I got there in 5 minutes and then he said he doesn't have time, i should go back four days later.
