The receptionist is rude! I called to get a price on oil per gallon and it was just over $4.a gallon. Other companies I had called were about .75 to .25 cheaper a gallon. I asked to speak to a manager and she informed me she was the manager. So I asked why it was so much more expensive all oil comes from the same place. She laughed and hang up.

I have been going to Guy's for over 5 years now and have had only positive experiences. This is due to their high quality work, value and polite professionalism. Most recently (this week), I returned because my engine service light came on. They scheduled me promptly after diagnosing on the spot that it was not urgent. When the work was actually performed, they found that a part installed last Fall failed prematurely, so they fixed the problem with a new part at no cost to me. I would highly recommend Guy's to others!Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery, Oil change

Awesome car service mechanic! Very gracious and flexible when our car broke down. They let us stay at the repair shop until our car was towed to the dealership since under warranty. Thank you Melanie, Griff, and everyone at the station. Your kindness meant a lot especially since we had three dogs with us as well which is not easy. You even gave our dogs water and treats. Now this a mechanic you want to bring your car to people! Griff even stayed an hour later and we were there over 5 hours.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Guy s came out on an emergency call because of fumes in the house. The repair man was extremely professional & explained what was wrong. He saved me from possible carbon monoxide poisoning. I am very grateful!

So i had a flat tire due to running over a nail, i called AAA and the person who came also worked at Guy s auto repair, was very helpful and told me i could get my tire plugged and filled along with put back on. So i drove over to them and they were able to help me out quickly even though they were close to closing. Very kind and helpful for helping me out under such short notice.

WE have always bought our oil from Guys - great service, polite and always on time. Just bought a car from them recently and would definitely go back for another one when we need it. Bought the car as is but had an issues within 2 weeks. Called and talked to Dick, he had the car towed as it was a safety issue and then fixed the car at no cost to us. It was the right thing to do but kudos to him for stepping up. It is not something that every dealer would do. Can't say enough about them. Great family business.

I have only experienced Guys Automotive Service. They are great. They are very honest mechanics and that is hard to find these days. If I can't fix the car myself I take it to guys. They have worked on my cars for years and I have never been disappointed. They have very fair labor rate they don't charge you for unnecessary things and half the time they diagnose the problem for free. In my opinion you won't find a better garage. Again they are honest and you won't find that most places including the dealership.Joe Buths

I have been coming to Guy's for car repairs for a few years. I usually am happy with their fair prices and normally quality workmanship/professionalism. Recently I brought my car in for a steering repair.. Big mistake. When I went to go pick up the car, the person at the counter told me it was ready to go and to just get it aligned as soon as I could. As I was driving home the car started shaking and making awful scraping noises, which worsened when I stepped on the brakes. I immediately took it to a tire store to get it aligned. After the alignment the car still sounded like trash and continued to shake. (Here is the BIG mystery; before I brought the car to Guy's it only had an issue with power steering and had zero brake/rotor problems.) The next day I returned to Guy's where I spoke to a mechanic about my car. He told me that the person who had worked on my car test drove it after the steering repair and was too nervous to ride it further than a few feet down the road... I wasn't told any of this when I went to pick it up the day of the "repair". The mechanic continued to explain that the rotors must be warped and that I could replace them (that's after he agreed with me for a minute when I suggested junking the car). Needless to say I won't be bringing my car here again any time soon.

Wonderful company! It's been a great experience working with Guy's. They helped us out when we needed work done during the government shut-down (my husband is Coast Guard) and were very kind. And again today, ran out of oil and needed a last minute oil delivery and they're kind enough to give me a call when the driver is on his way so I can be there. I've done business with companies who really don't care, you're just an account number. I don't feel that way at all with Guy's. Great service.

Guy's service is great! Every time I have been there, they have been honest and fair. I started going there, because they treated my Dad so well, and never tried to take advantage of him (as other places did). They do quality work, at a fair price. I would definitely recommend.

2/7/2021 Update. Had a dead battery on one of our cars today and called AAA. They dispatched Guy's Oil Roadside to come out and replace the battery. Joe, the driver, arrived within a half hour, did a few tests and determined the battery was in fact in need of replacement. 20 minutes later, job done and paperwork in hand. Therefore, based on this latest interaction, I revised my rating and posted this updated review.Guy's Oil Service Station Inc - Niantic, CT 06357 - 6/14/2015Having spent the last 34 years in the Automotive Industry, I have a pretty good sense as the what questions to ask and what general procedures are as it relates to anything Automotive. My wife, who has less experience in the car business used to take her car to Guy's for service before I met her. She was not aware that their charges were quite a bit higher than what I was accustomed to paying for similar services elsewhere. I realize there is sometimes an up-charge for convenience but there is a limit to what that should be. Needless to say she no longer services her car there. I tried to negotiate a maintenance package for both cars there for routine service but this garage does not seem to be interested in any new service business as they never returned my call.We used to buy all our gas there. After some "questionable billing" we stopped buying our gas there as well.Being AAA members, I purchased the better plan which includes battery replacement on each of our accounts along with long distance towing should the need arise. In January my wife's car needed a battery and AAA dispatched Guy's because they were closest. They replaced the battery but at the time the service manager refused to disclose specifically which battery they put in the car. I wanted to make sure they put in the heavy duty but he, thinking I was unfamiliar with cars told me there was only one- not true. AAA may only cary one but generally there are options. Therefore I'm assuming it was the cheap one and that's why he wouldn't tell me.Today, I loaned my car to a friend who left the car on in the accessory position by accident and my car being as smooth and quiet as it is, didn't realize the car was still on. I called AAA for a jump start who once again dispatched Guy's Service who upon examination determined that my battery was also in need of replacement but because we had one replaced in January, we'd have to pay for a replacement. Hmmmm... Interesting since in November of 2013 I had replaced said battery with an 800 CA 6 year heavy duty Interstate battery.I explained that that battery was on a different account but he said I'd have to take it up with AAA and left. I called AAA back and they acknowledged that yes, the battery was covered and that they would dispatch another truck to replace the battery under the terms of my agreement. They also assured my that the heavy duty similar to what was in the car would be installed. An hour later I get a call from a AAA driver who was coming to replace the battery. At this point I had him verify via the part numbers which I looked up online to verify they were bringing the heavy duty battery. It was at that point I was told they don't carry that one so needless to say I will go back to where I purchased the last battery and have them check that I in fact do need to replace the battery, and if I do, put in the same caliber battery as purchased...I think in light of the poor history with Guy's, I will request another garage should I need roadside assistance going forward. They've wasted almost two hours of my time and I still have to get it taken care of on my own. At least if I do have to pay out of pocket, I can file for reimbursement...Unbelievable!UPDATE: 1 1/2 YEARS LATER STILL no issues with the battery I was told by Guys needed to be replaced. I had another repair shop check the battery and they told me there was nothing wrong with it... You decide...Service: Battery

This is a good place for car servicing. It's AAA approved -- 10% discount on labor costs for members. ASE certified mechanics. Fair pricing, good work, and good customer service. For example, brake job had to be re-done because replacement caliper seized, but they volunteered that parts for the re-do would be free. The faulty caliper was no fault of theirs, so this was very fair.Services: Engine repair, Brakes

Horrendous service!! Our patient called AAA for a tow and unfortunately got stuck with Guys. After not being able to read a gps and unable to find a business location.,...the business CANCELLED the ticket. after waiting a second hour i urged the patient to call again. I SPOKE to the business and they said they closed the ticket and will have to reschedule a new driver. that was 11 am. at NOON...i called the business again and the front desk refused to put me through to the tow driver...said oh the driver is en route...another 40 minutes....FROM 7.5 miles away.0 stars. patients husband had to come retrieve her after being stuck in our waiting room from 9am til 1235. shame on Guys and AAA. we filed a report with AA about your horrible drivers

For heating oil they are great. I've used guys off and on for years now. They are sometimes a little higher than the competition, but they actually answer the phone, even when it's really cold out and come out quickly. It makes it worth the small premium to me for the service.

Several family cars have been serviced here for past two or three years. This is a conscientiously operated service station that does what needs to be done at reasonable cost and on time. Trustworthy. Recommended.

I have dealt with Guys for over 30 years, have bought four cars from them. One was for my aging Mother who promptly wrecked it. The other 3 were for me and received Guy's service throughout the time I owned them which was lengthy. My present car, a Toyota Sienna, 2005 , a Guy's car, has almost 200,000 miles on it, runs like a top and tows my Airstream trailer. Guy's service is utterly reliable, I can't say enough about them.

My invoice came out $500 more than I was expecting because they fixed an issue that was separate from what I initially approved without consulting me about the issue/cost of service first.

Very bad customer service, very heavy tone of voice to the guests, very bad customer service, do not know their own professional, when the guests do not understand, customer service will not use professional tone to explain to the guests, but will only yell at the guests, there are so many gas oil in Connecticut, I will not come to this bad service

Guys delivered oil to our home in the middle of a blizzard today. That's all you have to know about them. They took care of my family during severe weather. If you need home heating oil go with Guys.
