UPDATEThere is no improvement after another year. Sloppily run. Aisles are consistently blocked with boxes or ladders or stock carts. Poorly stocked. Always check your receipt because there are MANY mispriced items.I occasionally use this store when I need something quickly because it is local and sometimes the closest choice for what I need at the moment, but whenever I have the time I just go to my local hardware store. Not well run.ORIGINAL REVIEWCluttered aisles, generally disorganized, untidy.I have really tried to like this store since it's location is very convenient for me. It offers (when in stock) many items that I need while working around my property and shop. But the place is such a mess that it is really hard to love. Add to that "management" that is usually not customer friendly despite cashiers and clerks who go out of their way to try to help.Out of stock items leave empty bins in every aisle while stacks of unsold merchandise are piled up all over the store. This place would be much more pleasant to shop if only the inventory were controled and maintained. Staffing shortages seem to persist and result in occasional long waits at the register and little available help in the aisles. There are always blocked aisles with ladders or carts or boxes or overstock. Shelf prices rarely reflect the price at the register... in fact they are rarely placed near the correct item. Finding the price for an item is too often a guessing game. The store seems to suffer from a lack of organization and leadership. It's as if most of the crew is bailing as fast as they can but the captain is passed out at the wheel.

Needed some special fencing for a dog run I was building, ordered it online and it was delivered in store for pickup. We arrived 10 minutes before closing (really long drive + had to get a rental to pick up the materials) The staff was very friendly, and helped us collect our order, including jumping on a fork lift, unlocking the garden area and then driving a pallet right up to the truck all in the dark. Super helpful and great customer service. Then discovered the next day (because it was dark) I had ordered 6ft tall fencing and had received 5ft tall. It worked for the project, but I emailed customer support to let them know, included pictures, and said this stuff works can you just credit me the difference and without any further back and forth, they refunded me the difference. What a freaking pleasant experience all around!

I go to tractor supply a lot, almost everyday. It is my favorite store. They have about everything you could need . However what makes this store the best place to go is Joy and Carl. They are both always quick to help with whatever you need, always greet you with smiling faces and are ready to answer any questions no matter how dumb of a question it seems to be. Both Joy and Carl have helped me many times and when I'm in the store they always make it a good experience. I've never experienced such impeccable customer service anywhere else and they are the reason myself and many others keep coming back.

Love this place but the customer service here is not too good. Also, there is no benefit to joining their point system. Been going there for 3 years and I still have had no discounts

This is a great location. Always well stocked and the staff are ready to help whenever needed. Today, I met Jim at the checkout. He was so kind, courteous and helpful. I enjoyed speaking with him, and appreciated that he was sure to pull my name up in the system while ringing up my purchase. Jim is truly an asset to the company. We need more kindness in the world, and Jim is filled with it for sure. Thank you, Jim!

I haven t had a bad experience yet. They can be very busy and a tad understaffed on some days though. Fortunately I am a very patient and understanding person. There is a man named George who works there, one of the best staff they have. He s always willing to offer his assistance and answer any questions. He is very friendly. The younger kids that work in there are quite the opposite and try avoid offering assistance. I feel like they run from customers, including myself. Other then that they have great prices and nice items. Maybe they should just do a bit more customer assistance training for the people who are new to retail. Would recommend to family and friends.

Will did a phenomenal job helping me and my nervous dog mylo that didn't want to go to the dog wash. He offered to check us out away from normal checkout and even brought our refund from our unused dog wash to the car! If I could give him 6 stars I would! Thank you for going above and beyond for us

Garbage store. No one to help you except the cashier so you have to wait in line to find a product then wait in line again to pay for it. Store is set up different from the rest. Tractor oil filters in 4 different areas is absolutely pathetic. If you aren t going to staff stores Atleast put location of product in app and on website. You have to have bin locations to properly do inventory, why can t that information be relayed to the site it s not like this is something new to websites. And it took over 20 mins to contact customer care about the issue so I m sure case # TSC 0212938 is pointless

Although I ultimately found what I was looking for, the store was a bit of a disaster area. With most aisles having supplies and goods all over the place, it was difficult if not impossible to go down many of the aisles with a cart. Knowing this I would probably order online next time and pick it up in the front store area and save myself the struggle.

I love the store due to all that they have for agricultural needs. My one and only complaint, so far I have been waiting 25 minutes for somebody to come out and fill my propane tank. Went inside four times, and they had called over the PA system every time and nobody has come out yet.

Went to get pellets for our wood stove tonight and came home with ducklings! Excellent customer service and great prices. The gentleman that helped us was extremely knowledgeable and professional.

Love these stores. This one (Newtown) needs to focus on the staff. They re always understaffed, scrambling to help 4 people, answer phones and tend the register. Not all the employees are knowledgable about the products, inventory, location, etc. They are super nice and helpful when they can be but a full time store manager & floor manager would help.

I was set to purchase 4 pullets to have as backyard pets. The store sales associate with the purple hair would not sell me pullets unless I purchased a total of 6. I asked why this was so, and she said because "chickens are flock animals," and there is "a law in CT that prohibits no less than 6 pullets to be purchased at once." This information is false, according to the State Animal Control Unit and state vet. The saleswoman was nice and seemed passionate about chickens, but it's worse off to put people on the spot and force them to purchase 6 chickens that may not fit in small backyard coops. Going elsewhere for chickens.

Love tractor supply. This one is newer and whenever I go there they always seem to be out of what I am looking for. Lots of empty spaces on shelves and items ate frequently not in the correct place to match the labels. Not sure if this has to do with them being a newer store and not being able to keep up with demand or failure of the staff to correctly face the shelves and reorder stock. Otherwise cant beat tractor supply.

The place was dirty, when they picked up the phone when I called they said the name what do you want. They had a died chicken in the cage, the guy say it and went on to see hat he was doing. Thought with it being Newtown it would have been better.

I drive up from shore area to pick up items that local Loews & Home Depot don't carry for small animals, bird feeders, and gardening. Well stocked, friendly service, ample accessible parking & entry, no need to walk 5 miles in store to find items.

This concept TS store has a few amenities like employee handheld checkout devices. (Good for paying for propane from the yard) and lockers to hold stock you've purchased from their website but this store is traditionally understaffed like most of the TS I've been to. The bright spot in this location was Mickalah who seemed eager to help and at the top of her game. She diligently checked my propane tank for safety, found the service stamp had expired and was able to point me to a spanking new replacement in store. She seemed to know the layout of the whole store and answered all questions with accuracy. I've only seen competing feed prices online so having feed on hand locally is convenient. I haven't seen lower priced propane refill anywhere in the region. I was back to BBQing in record time.

Crowded with yuppies, but a good place for ag products, basic auto and home hardware, wannabe clothing and farmhouse decor. Real working clothes, gloves and footwear are hard to come by, although their outdoor coat selection and snowmobile gear was vast, too much so I think. Decent selection of pesticides and pet and animal feed, ok assortment of birdfeeders but more decorative than practical. Register line moves slowly but staff is friendly.

Nice to have local spot to pick up outdoor, or light farming needs, but often selection lacking or check out lines too long. Just since they've opened last summer/fall, their chainsaw product and accessories selection has been cut, and items we use for horses come in limited sizes or selection. Unsure if growing pains of new store or sign of things to come, but for now we've maintained strong bond with Danbury Ag-Way (as we usually ended up going there when Tractor didn't have what we needed)

This Newtown store has the absolute worst customer service! You wait and wait and wait and wait in line ! It s totally ridiculous ! I m not sure if more checkout lines would help bec there is never anyone at the register. The employees that are around won t ring you out either. They just walk by like your invisible! Totally unacceptable! If you must go to this store, be prepared and bring a sandwich bec you ll be waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.....

New tractor supply is well laid out and has lots of neat stuff. I got some tools from there clarence rank right when you walk into the store. Which by the way is a perfect place to put stuff because your fresh in and see different things. Started walking around and easily found a 50lbs bag of grass seed I need and at a great price. Used the seed three times now always better then the big names like scotts. I got my tractors old change and was checking out. They had one like open which is always a pain but let me tell you the girl that was working was fast but also courteous. She smiled and asked question. Was very nice and really happy which shows in her work. I belieave if employers treat there people who make them there money well they will show it in there work. Awesome addition and no longer need to drive to New Milfords store.

Just walked out. Service was terrible. Ask the kid up at register how he was he gave a the impression he didn t want to be there. I just wanted to let him know a bag of feed opened up. As another employee walked right by it and didn t care. I will never go back.

Nuce place to shop for a fairly wide variety of things. Needed an oil filter wrench to change oil in my Honda Pilot and they had one.Stupid thing still didn't come out. I ended up struggling by hand to remove it. But that isn't Rractor Supplies fault.

I just took my dog in there for a do it yourself bath. They supply everything, shampoo, towels, even a blow dryer. It was much better than wrestling with a cold water hose in the driveway!!!
