This doesn t even deserve a star. I don t recommend using them if you are of color. They are very racist, disgusting, and hateful. I can t believe such injustice still exists in this country. WOW!

True Professionals! Was stuck on road with my SUV! Spoke with the owner Paul he dispatched a tow truck driven by Rich to my location! Flatbed the SUV for repairs! I highly recommend Hilario's and their staff once again Professionals!!!

The owner came out and helped me pump my fuel. Often the best prices around aside from the warehouse clubs.

Been dealing with them for 25 yrs. I own a demolition company and have heavy equipment. Some of it huge! I've tried all the other towing and hauling companies and the saying ,you get what you pay for applies here. Their equipment is second to none, their drivers are professional and skilled, and the company as a whole will bend over backwards to make sure customer is safe, and happy. There is definitely cheaper companies in the area, but again,u get what u pay for!!

I must say that I had a wonderful experience with Hilario's!! My car broke down on a late night on the way home due to electrical issues and I was able to get my vehicle towed in a timely manner. Not only was the dispatcher polite, but she assured me that I wouldn't be on the dark road for long. The driver was at my vehicle within 30 minutes, and did a great job hooking up my all wheel drive vehicle properly. I wish I had gotten the driver's name, but he was super nice and super helpful. I'll be sure to use Hilario's again if I ever have a problem in their area.

I've been a customer of Hilario's for YEARS. Towed on 2 occasions and they did mechanical work several times. You get quality with Hilario's, so I have zero problem with their pricing like many are complaining about. Ask for Arty -- Big Art treated me like a son (RIP Big Man), and his son treats me like a brother. Great, hardworking family business.See my review of Traynor to see what happens when you try someone new for a better price.

Our car died in the middle of a busy intersection and we were so scared. We called Hilario towing and Paul dispatched it so quickly. The driver came within five minutes, and he was so friendly! After dropping the car off he even offered to help unload anything we needed! They deserve more than five stars! Thanks again for coming to our rescue:)

Needed a specialty tow off the highway after hours for our truck that was having transmission issues, we could only go in reverse. They came for an hourly rate of $275 and parked my truck and trailer in the unfenced yard where we stayed the night. The next day it stayed in the unfenced yard. The third day they finally got around to putting an estimate together, at that time the horse trailer was put in the fenced yard and the following day I had it picked up since the truck was going to be there a while. The estimate stated that I needed a new rear end and all new parts to put it back in, shocks, u joints etc. I checked the estimate against other suppliers for a new rear end and found it almost $1000 less delivered directly to their service center. Hilario's would not offer to rebuild the differential even though it may have only needed a few hundred dollars in parts and less than a $1000 in labor. They also stated that the front locking hubs were bad, these had been replaced less than two years before. This was supposedly why the truck wouldn't go. So we drove 5 hrs to put new hubs on ($200 and one hour of labor of our own, they priced us at $600+ just for this) if the hubs were the problem we would be able to limp the truck home to my own garage. No such luck and a full day wasted. So we hauled the truck home. In less than an hour my very busy garage that I hadn't made an appt with more than a day in advance diagnosed the transmission. If I had replaced the rear end and hubs as per the estimate, I would still have not been rolling and out $5500. The tow was reasonable for after hours compared to other prices, but during hours we found someone that was $80 to hook up and $4.75 a mile in the area. He could have hauled both 20 miles in separate trips for half the price Hilarios charged to haul both together after hours. The rate stated on a large sign in the office was 96.75 an hour but the estimate stated $105 per hour. When I asked about the discrepancy they said the posted rate was a car rate. There wasn't a car in sight. No where on the lot. Their advertising states they are a truck company. Not that they don't do cars but why not post all rates on the board. Or at least note that its a car rate so someone with a truck can ask the question. Needless to say, the insurance company is paying the tow. I was charged $105 an hour for the wrong diagnosis and almost got snookered out of $5500 there. Thank God my internal radar was on. And just so its known, I almost never write bad reviews and I travel all over the country I've paid much higher prices to fix my truck and trailer than I might have at home but it was all manageable and understandable. And I have always been taken care of quickly, efficiently and correctly. This is just a bad garage to end up at all the way around. They were polite and helpful, though once I asked if I could bring in my own rear end, the owner stopped returning my calls, the office ladies insisted that they didn't know anything and I would have to wait for him. At the end of it all, he charged storage fees for my trailer while he did his estimate. I was never made aware that I would need to pay storage fees but his yard was small and I was conscious of how much room the trailer was taking up, that's why I had it moved. After returning to get my truck, the sign posted with the hourly rate did say (I took a picture of it) that storage fees would be assessed after repairs had been done. So once again, bad customer service to not let me know what my full charges were at the beginning. The estimate never mentioned storage fees, even though my trailer was still sitting there at the time.Addition to complaint, after having the truck back on the road there's leaking from the differential which was opened by Hilarios. We can see that it had been pried open with a flat instrument, thus bending the lip that the gasket sits on and the gasket had never been resealed, there was no gasket at all. Guess thats one way to get customers back to your garage.

BEWARE, BE VERY AWARE OF THIS COMPANY Halario's! I was stuck with my rv on route 84 at the exit nearest to hilarios. I spoke with the woman who quoted me rates and two scenarios. After explaining exactly where I was, and her confirming that she knew the exact location, of which was the exit nearest to them, and expressed by her "you're closer then I thought", she proceeded to explain two situations, the first a service truck at 325.00 and hour, and the second, a tow to their facility at 350.00. We both agreed that the service guy in the service truck might not be able to fix it, and it could need a tow anyway, so I opted for the 350.00 tow to their facility. I have had this motorhome for 11 years and there was a good chance that it just needed a fuel filter. I usually have an extra filter, but didn't at that moment. The next day their workers showed up and one of the workers said "I need for you to open the back compartment, and I did so, and I specifically told him "do not touch anything until I get a clear understanding of the tow bill. Well, the receptionist mentioned that the tow bill was close to 800.00. A far cry from what was told to me on the phone. I proceeded to get the woman back on the phone, the one that gave me the price for the tow, and she flat out lied to me! The story gets even worse with this place halario's, and when I went back out of the office to my motorhome, that worker took my filter off, a total of maybe 5 minutes to unscrew it, as it is right there and in the open. It's almost, if not a deliberate act to dismantle so they can charge, charge and charge the consumer. I went back in the office and told them that I did not authorize anyone to touch my motorhome past the point of the tow. They said, "well you owe us another 125.00 because we have a minimum 1 hour labor rate. The worker came in, and said "it took me about 5 minutes to remove the filter". The receptionist spoke to the owner paul, and paul told her to charge me the 125.00. The owner couldn't even look me in the eye to discuss man to man about the blatant disrespect of them stonewalling the fact that I told them not to touch it. I said after charging me almost 800 dollars, you're going to screw me for another 125.00 after your guy spent 5 minutes, of which I told him not to touch it. I think the receptionist took it upon herself to give me 60 bucks back, because after all how can you screw someone and look them in the eye. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY HALARIO'S.

Deceitful business we got a price of $800 to get a tractor trailer towed out of the snow which the truck had a hard time doing because there was no traction to move due to snow and the since highway had not been cleaned very well nor seemed to have any salt spread. Than they claimed to only accept com-check or cash as payments according to driver of tow truck #17 driver Harley and young lady answering phones whom did not disclose a name that they do not accept debit or credit card payments nor do they have a payment authorization form to make payment. While on the phone with my driver trying to explain to him where to call for com data for purchase a com-data check the young lady dispatched her driver to tow our truck to their shop until payment was to be made which will have additional charges which we did not agree to do that because the problem was not making payment we had the funds to pay them they were making it difficult to make a payment almost near impossible to charge us more. We never agreed for him to hook up my driver and take truck to the shop. Now the secretary or I m unsure what her position may be at the shop got frustrated over me trying to make a payment in the form of credit card and or debit and even tried to explain and question her if there was a way she could get an authorization form in which some companies use to fax to me and we d fill it out with the credit card info etc. with signature to authorize payment to be made she didn t have that option available. We were on another line on hold to purchase a comdata check because our driver didn't have $800 cash on him they're now telling us that they are charging us $ 325 per hour until payment was made. At first on the call the charge was going to be $650.00 than when their driver reached the location our truck was stranded at they changed the price from $650.00 to $800.00. Because our driver didn't have $800 dollars cash on hand, they claimed they can only accept a com check, which we were trying to purchase to pay them with, but they were trying to force that they have to tow the truck to their yard until payment was made which would be additional charges. We're a company based out of New Jersey and they're located in Connecticut we were trying to pay them over the phone with debit card, credit card or electronic check direct deposit payment anything but the young lady we were trying to make a payment to giving us a hard time about not accepting those forms of payment. It is also illegal to hook up with an individual in the vehicle or truck and their driver hooked up our truck basically making it an obligated hostage situation without an agreement on the payment, He was pushing the driver to tow our truck to their yard which was unnecessary. This is not the way to conduct business especially when a company is based two states away and is literally trying to make a payment and they're making it impossible to accept a payment on purpose to charge you more money. Than they claimed that for every 15 minutes payment was delayed they will charge $75 which is basically $325 per hour Unbelievable! And sounds very illegal. When state police arrived soon after they all of a sudden told our driver that they accept debit or credit card payments. What in the world is going on here sadly the owner of this Business might not even be aware of the conduct of his employees and the unjustified service in which they are managing the company. This was an unbelievable experience and definitely malicious intensions that once my driver was about to express to the police officer the nature of the situation and the crazy charge options. They all of a sudden accepted credit card and debit card payments and charged $1100. This is horrible.

It's rare for me to write a review, but these guys went above and beyond to get my trailer done today! My job was not very big, and definitely more of an inconvenience than it was worth. Even so, they were pleasant and accomidating the entire time and extremely reasonable. Thank you.

Repair service by itself is ok. Towing service is awful. We had last week problem with one of our truck. We needed to change rear differential assembly. They towed our truck from the highway to their facility. It was 30 miles. Bill was for $1574.71. We were shocked. Then repair was billed on $4975.15. where part by itself cost $2462.15. and it was 7 hr of labor for $125/hr. If YOU WILL HAVE CHANCE GET ANOTHER SERVICE THEN GET. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

These people ripped me off big time. I got into a car accident because of black ice and my car landed on the side of the road. The police came and called them. I Asked the tow truck driver to bring me home but he said that I needed 80 dollars up front and that it would more depending on the distance of where I was going. The guy wouldn t stop at an atm and brought he car to his shop. When I get there I had to pay 340 dollars because they charged me for bringing the car in and because I wanted it delivered at my house. All of this could have been avoided because I was 20 minutes away from my house but he insisted of bringing the car in knowing that they were going to charge me double.

Seems like somebody beat me to my complaint. All the signs on 84 lead to this gas station. We left Dad to fill the Big Chevy while mom and the (peepee) dancing ducklings went inside to use the facilities. They do have a HUGE sign posted about not having "public" restrooms....surely that doesn't mean a paying customer who's about to fill a 30 gallon tank at their $4.139 prices right?? The woman behind the counter could barely turn to look at me over her shoulder to assure me my kids were going to have to keep their legs crossed for a little while longer. I yelled to Daddy to stop pumping the gas....ridiculous....p.s. there is a beautiful, friendly Dunkin down the street.

I can t say enough good about Hilarios and the crew that works. I would never use any other tow company. When ever my family or myself needs a tow or equipment moved, we call Hilarios. I have also worked with them on many MVA calls with the fire dept. They are beyond professional and have a quick response time. Definitely one dedicated and hardworking crew! Always going the extra mile and doing what it takes to get the job done.

This place is a joke, lazy, sloppy workers smoking cigarettes all day long. They scheduled Me to pick up car @8am. I have to Uber there. I show up & the secretary was not there, but another guy working there said Alba(secretary) was running a few minutes late, 2 hours later, still no Alba, and not one of the 8 other people new how to handle the paperwork to give my car back. lost my am of work, and had to Uber out of there again. They are giving me a call later to go back to get car in afternoon if they ever can find Alba cuz she wouldn t answer her phone either..

Hilario's should be renamed 'HILARIOUS' because that just about describes everything from the quality of service to the rotting excuse of a gas station and not to mention their rip-off pricing and towing services. The people that own and run this place are a great example of why people are trying to leave Connecticut rather than flock to it. Thanks guys, I had a great experience with all of you.

First time reviewing anything on the internet but this place was so awful I feel like I just have to warn others. The old man has a serious attitude and I mean serious. When I asked if there was a bathroom he scowled at me and told me to "read the sign" which I hapened to miss on my way in to the rundown dump of a convenience store. Despite this being one of the only service stations for miles they do not have a public bathroom and I guess the old cretin is tired of having to explain himself so he just scowls and points. If I had known they wouldn't let me use the bathroom I would have purchased my gas elsewhere. Stay away from this place folks, rude, ripoff gas prices!!!

Hilario's was extremely professional, fast, and caring. They quickly towed our car off the interstate, put on a tire, and directed us to the nearest place to get a new tire.

The driver put the truck in a forward gear and tried to push one of the cars into the woods. I drove an 18 wheel er for thirty years . That driver is not a driver he is a want to be. This happened at 8.45 this morning.

Displaced told my vehicle off the highway and was told verbally with me present that my vehicle had no holds whatsoever upon it when being taken back to their yard they then took it upon themselves to tell me how many people I would have to have come out in order for my vehicle to drive out of their yard after they were paid their tow bill. After being paid their toe bill they then refused to release it and started telling me about how much it was per day storage therefore I have left my vehicle there and I'm calling now that I've handled things with my attorney, my insurance and the state of South Carolina where I'm license with this tow company in the thoughts of everyone to get my tow bill reimbursed because I am giving them the truck and everything in it which I'm sure they've already pillaged and took it upon themselves to take any way they are truly not good people they are rude disrespectful and do not give a damn about you or anyone that they tow
