The garage replaced both front wheel bearings on my car eliminating a humming noise on the highway. I went back a week later to get the wheels rebalanced and Roy said it would be at no charge. That was nice of him to do. At that point I picked the car up and Rob said that "the axles go bad in these cars, that's just the way it is and to let us know if you want to replace them." It would be about $300 to replace an axle. I thought it was an odd thing to say at that point but okay.A week after that I'm walking by the car and I notice grease on the right front rim. Then I look further and find that the inside of the rim is caked in grease as is the fender liner and the brake hose. I looked for the source and finally found the CV axle outer boot in the condition as shown in the attached photo. When I went back and showed Rob the photo he said that had nothing to do with their work. I said if it was there when I brought the car in wouldn't someone have noticed it? He said they weren't looking for that.I've gotten different opinions on this photo. One person that it looked like the boot had been hit with a pry bar or a big screwdriver because the overall boot appeared to be in good condition. Another said that rubber boots can get fragile on a high mileage car and anytime you work in that area it's always a risk. On my particular car the entire spindle needs to be removed from the axle and the part then sent out to a machine shop to press in a new bearing.Later that same morning I called Rob and asked him if he really wasn't willing to compromise on this. He agreed to replace the axle for $50 if I bought a new one at the auto parts store. I did and they replaced it. That was the outcome. When I picked up the car he again stated that this had nothing to do with their work and this was done as a courtesy for me. I wasn't standing there while the work was being done but was he really there every second? How is he so certain nothing happened?Without the boot issue I would be giving them a high score. I have attempted to present this to you exactly as it took place and leave it to your discretion.

Excellent customer service! I brought my car for emergency transmission oil leaks. The owner went above and beyond to repair my car's transmission cooler line in the same day. They are very honest, and professional. They explained to me what need to be done, and charged me a reasonable price. They even give me a ride home and back to the shop. What a great service! I would come back for my next repairs.

I brought in my Lexus with 207,000 miles for diagnostics check engine light power steering issues Rob took the time to diagnose and advise not to spend the $1700 needed to get car in working order considering the high mileage. Rob s advice cost X$ amount of revenue but gained a new customer going forward.

I removed two tractor wheels/tires today and dropped them off to have tubes installed into the existing tires (tires drying out, losing air around bead). I purchased the tubes at home depot but didn't have the tool to remove the valve stem. So, I dropped the wheels/tires and tubes off --told Rob it was "no rush" (not lawn mowing season). Two hours later they called me to pick up. When my wife arrived, he demanded $40 from her. Shocked, she handed it over in cash. Once she got home I called Rob and reminded him that I supplied the tubes, I gave him the opportunity to explain how on earth a five minute job could possibly command $40, and give him an opportunity to change his mind. Instead, Rob defended his price stating it was worth every penny, as if he was doing me a favor by not supplying a receipt so I would have no record or recourse, nor did he charge us (nor did he pay) state sales tax. Not sure how many $480/hr equipment repair places there are out there. I believe that Miller Ferrari is $200/hr in Greenwich. But here in Newtown, a tractor tire's labor rate is more than twice that hourly rate. Highway robbery. I have since seen the repair orders of friends who have taken vehicles there and every one is well beyond any shred of reasonable pricing. The original retired owners Jack and Schooch wouldn't have even have charged me back in the day. Not that I was expecting that, but this was ridiculous. Good luck, new owners. Not sure what planet you think you're on.
