Title: Horrendous Experience at Tire Doctor in West Haven, CTRating: My experience with Tire Doctor in West Haven, CT, can only be described as a complete nightmare. I wholeheartedly advise against using their services or recommending them to anyone seeking automotive repairs. The level of incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction displayed by this establishment is truly astonishing.To start with, I initially brought my vehicle to Tire Doctor to have my starter fixed. However, what should have been a relatively simple repair turned into a catastrophic ordeal. They informed me that my engine was locked or wouldn't turn over, leaving me with no choice but to agree to an engine swap. Little did I know that this decision would lead to months of frustration and disappointment.The engine swap alone took an excruciatingly long time over three months to be exact. The prolonged delay left me without my vehicle for an extended period, causing significant inconvenience and disruption to my daily life. It is inconceivable that Tire Doctor would subject their customers to such an unreasonable waiting period.When I finally received my vehicle back, I discovered a litany of additional issues that were not present before. The air conditioning, which had been perfectly functional prior to their "repairs," was now completely broken. Moreover, loud and disturbing noises emanated from the tailpipe or exhaust, indicating that the work performed by Tire Doctor was of abysmal quality. It is clear that they lack the necessary expertise and attention to detail required to carry out any repair job competently.Even worse, the check engine light remained stubbornly illuminated, despite assurances from Tire Doctor that it would be resolved. Their inability to rectify such a basic issue speaks volumes about their lack of professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction.The overall performance and feel of my vehicle have drastically deteriorated since Tire Doctor worked on it. It no longer runs smoothly, and the strange noises coming from under the hood are alarming. It is evident that their shoddy workmanship has had a detrimental impact on my vehicle's performance and reliability.On top of everything, my radiator was leaking after the repairs were supposedly completed. When I confronted Tire Doctor about this issue, they callously dismissed it, claiming that it was simply due to the radiator's age. I find this explanation to be utterly unacceptable, as I had never experienced any radiator or coolant leaks prior to entrusting my vehicle to them. Their refusal to address the problem only further exemplifies their lack of accountability and commitment to customer satisfaction.As if the litany of issues mentioned above wasn't enough, I also noticed oil spots on my garage floor after getting my vehicle back. When I raised this concern with Tire Doctor, they had the audacity to dismiss it as water from the supposed coolant leak. Their blatant disregard for my valid concerns and attempts to evade responsibility are nothing short of disgraceful.In conclusion, I cannot stress enough how strongly I discourage anyone from seeking the services of Tire Doctor in West Haven, CT. From the misdiagnosis of my starter issue to the interminable engine swap, broken AC, loud noises, persistent check engine light, compromised vehicle performance, leaking radiator, and dismissive attitude towards customer concerns, my experience has been an absolute nightmare. Spare yourself the anguish and disappointment by avoiding Tire Doctor at all costs.

I went to this place for the first time yesterday to get 4 brand new tire s initially I was aggravated cause the worker who does the alignment Alberto leaves at 5 and I would of had to come back but I made it on time BJ was able to balance an mount them and Alberto did my alignment both were amazing and very good at there jobs the owner as well always nice always professional with the best prices in town and I have a mechanic of 10 years and I m totally going to cheat on him with these guys I don t let just anyone touch my baby he doesn t like it but he likes these guys and I will be back in 2 weeks to get more work done and Joey drives like he s brand new at 10 years old AyeThank You Guys

Went to get a tire plugged & it was flat the next day! Instead of saying get a new tire they plugged it just to get the money ! Went back for a refund & got NOTHING but attitude.. Highly wouldn t recommend! Just get new tires ppl !

I had got a flat tire this morning just dropped off my daughter to school and I was just about to drop off my son to the daycare and my tire just popped I was 5 minutes away thank gGOD ...it was 8 am had to get to work at 9 am got there at 915 Omg u saved me today Hector thank u Sooooo much..ur da best

Good service & prices, came in to replace a flat tire I had, I was there all of 5 minutes maybe and on my way with the new tire and didn't over charged and was treated great, especially being a female without knowledge of vehicles.

The folks here saved my life, tuning up my tires when nowhere in New Haven I could find anybody able or willing to do that. I am DEFINITELY buying my next set of new tires here.

Went to get a tire fixed. The work was good, but when another problem was discovered, I asked the mechanic how much would it cost (power steering issue) and he said he'd call me with a quote. Considering that I was going to purchase new tires from him, I was expecting a phone call. The call never came and thus I went elsewhere. Lost sale because of a lack of communication.

I will be honest my "millennial" son told me about this place and was skeptical. No offense millennials but when I asked around for suggestions no one told me about this place. With that said the mechanic who serviced me I didn't get a name but he is a HARD worker. He was excellent, quick and pleasant. I'm definitely going back. If I had something negative to say it would be their parking. The place does not have room for parking especially when the cars they are servicing take up most of the space.

The people were nice but the job didn't get done I paid $80. For nothing, and I tip the man $20. I guess you really can't trust anyone. I don't think if I was a man this would have happened.

I recommend this place for a tire repair. I had a flat tire, and a guy in a repair shop nearby told me it couldn't be repaired because the nail damage was too close to the side. Actually, it wasn't. It was almost an inch away from the side. Someone told me about this place, and they fixed the tire without any complaints and no intention to sell a new one. I left a $4 tip for a $15 repair.It is interesting to see how dishonest places get 4+ star reviews, and the one who does not care about the show-offs and focus on their jobs get lower ratings.Update:It's been a year since the tore was repaired a d it's still running without any problem.Service: Tires

Good customer service, but the quality of work performed was subpar. All 3 rims, that were replaced with new tires were SCRATCHED around the entire lip of the rim, by their machine. If you go to a place, that provides inexpensive service, that s usual the quality of work you receive.Service: TiresService: Tires

Very professional folksGot a low estimate for tires.They are even willing to help me get to work so they can do the tires .And they have a no credit 90 day program.Although the place needs cleaning, one of the employees were sitting at desk stuffing his face with chips.That should be done in a break room.

My friend has given a nice down payment on a car and Dave will not let her take the car until it is paid off. He refuses to refund the down payment which is really bad business! About a month ago he gave her a loaner car and the axle broke on it. Really Dave? No regard for safety? My friend could have been seriously hurt or possibly killed! Stay away from this chop shop, far far away! One star is being kind. This is a zero star shop and the FTC and BBC should be investigating your business for fraud!

My husband knew one of the co owners of this establishment, and said that they had no issue fixing our oil leak. We originally had a quote from another larger, well known company, that said it would cost approximately $530 to repair, as there was a leak in the head gasket. Since my husband had faith in his friend, and co owner of this Tire Doctor place, he decided to take it there.Upon his arrival, they said they needed to practically dismantle the engine, that the work would take 6 hours, and that there was no gasket on the car; that it s sealed on there with glue. Uhmmmm, I even know that s bull. It s stuck because it s rubber and takes a little elbow grease to get off. Anyway, he said that was not where the leak was coming from, but a bunch of other places, again proceeded to take apart the engine, specifically where the radiator connects to it. I will get back to that later. The tech then comes back to my husband and said he had to take part of the engine off to get to the valve cover. What???? The valve cover is right on the top, it made no sense at all. After six hours of essentially exacerbating the problem, as the car leaked more oil, and the coolant was completely gone by the time my husband returned home, we ended up taking it to the original mechanic who quoted us what SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED in the first place. The company owner or whomever my husband knows there said we could take it back anytime, but after 6 hours, $600 and more problems, and the fact that we live in Danbury, and this place is in New Haven, it left a lot to be desired, in terms of returning. The icing on the cake was when they were done, my husband asked the tech how the oil level was, and the tech asked if the car even has a dipstick. Boggles the mind. Do not, and I repeat do not take your car to this facility. I have already filed a claim with BBB, and changed our bank account information, and if this company has the audacity to even file a small claims against us, for stop payment, For this SNAP program they have, I will provide all of the necessary paperwork that substantiates the repairs that were made by our local mechanic, that should have been made by the Tire Doctor.Ashley MazurowskiService: General repairs & maintenance

For the last 8 months this guys phone number has been linked to my cell phone, somehow. I get dozens of calls every single day for Dave at the Tire Doctor. I have made numerous attempts to contact him to fix whatever he did to link his phone number to mine, to no avail. WHATEVER YOU DID TO LINK YOUR NUMBER TO MINE, FIX IT. WHEN CALLING THE 787 1281 NUMBER IT LISTS ON GOOGLE... IT CALLS MY CELLPHONE!!! FIX IT

They tell you the car is in perfect condition, then you go by and the car doesn't even drive more than 30 miles per hour because the engine is broken the check engine light is on the brake light is on and the motor smokes. They said you can buy the car we can fix it but pay for that... What? Worst ever!!!

Please please do yourself a favor and never ever visit this place. This place is full of crooks and scam artists. Here's my story: About a months ago I had flat tire on driver side front of my minivan and my son (who mainly use the car) brought it to Tire Doctor on Boulevard in West Haven. He was charged $25 to have to the tire fixed. My son paid cash and was not given any receipt. But the tire kept on leaking air albeit slowly and had to be refilled once a week.My son hit another nail on the rear left a few days ago and my son brought the van again to the Tire Doctor to get fixed. He told them that the front left tire wasn't fixed properly by them. However, my son was charged to fix both flats, the new and the old one that they didn't fix right. He was charged $20 each and the total with taxes came to $42.50.Today, the front left went almost completely flat and I decided enough is enough and brought it to Walmart in West Haven. Unfortunately they couldn't take out the wheel using impact wrench because the nuts were too tight, even the highest torque wouldn't open the nuts. Walmart told me to bring the van back to TireDoctor to loosen it. They also afraid that the bolts might have been cracked.I drove to TireDoctor and after explaining what happened, the mechanic used long breaker bar to loosen the nuts. BUT afterwards he wanted $10. I was upset and wanted to talk to the manager and asked for a business card to report to BBB and CT Consumer Protection Agency, but the mechanics refused to call the manager/owner. They said all of them were there yesterday and none of them remembered doing work on my car. The 4 of them tried to intimidate me and even threatened to call the cops.But after I told them I would prefer the cops to come so that I can file the police report and use the police report to file a complaint with Consumer Protection and/or BBB, they finally told me to get the hell out of there. There were very rude and acted like thugs. Good thing my son paid using his credit cards yesterday, so even though he was not given a sales receipt, he has a proof of purchase with credit card. I will file a complaint against them with appropriate agencies and/or media.PLEASE PLEASE spread the words and DO NOT go there, especially women. They will rip you off, break your car and if you questioned them, they threatened physical harms to you. I wish I had called the police and file a criminal complaints against them but I was pressed for time. Thank you for reading and God Bless...

Had a huge bolt in tire and Alfanso fixed it within 10 minutes and did not overcharge us and was extremely nice.

Went here WITH MY HUSBAND to change my tires on my Altima a few months ago and was charged $80 for 2 tired. High but ok. THIS MORNING I go ALONE and the guy says u can only pay cash cause I m the only one here and $100 to change 2 tires Tire Doctor will NEVER get my money again because of 1 bad representative of their establishment.

The best advice I can give is STAY AWAY. Don't throw your money in this place. They gave me junk tires. Unprofessional workers. And disrespectful manager. I will never go again even for free service

I bought a dodge cailber 07 for 1,800 dollars for nothing the cars rusted inside out all four tires were needed new also the tire pressure monitors the back doors when You open them have rusted deep holes inside also the anti-freeze isnt going through like it should i went to align the car but the whole back frame is soo rusted that my drivers rear tire is only driving and has been by too bolts holding it and tha alxe he ordered me a rim after buring mines to get passageners front tire lug nut off gave it too me said i wouldnt be charged then charged me 97 dollars for a used rim thats so dirty doesnt even look chrome i have to replace the lower ball joints and the arms in the front and put on a 02 sensor im putting this up so you dont do the mistake i did dont buy a car from here if you do check it up side down tell them to even left the car up for you if you dont good luck

I would rate no stars dont go there you guys there scamers i bought 3 tires from them each went beyond bold in a month they dodnt put them on right at all i got the same thing done at star tire and i must say my car drives smoother i can park correctly i dont feel every bump i hit....just dont go ive never been so scared to drive my own car and ive had it for 3 years
