Saved the day!I broke down in the dark, in the cold, in an unfamiliar city. The dealership wanted to charge me 3 times what Megill's charged me. They went out of their way to help me out, do the repair, and get me back on the road for my final leg of my trek from Florida to New Hampshire. The kindness of strangers is a real thing. Megill's fixed my car affordably and were kind through the process. Even fed me lunch and calmed me down in a very stressful situation.The kind of business we all should support!

If I could leave more than 5 stars I would! They are the most generous people I have come across in a while! My family is quite far away from New Haven as a whole seeing as we live in Buffalo New York. My little sister is a freshman in college at Albertus Magnus and with her brain being over loaded with adjusting to life as a college student 7 hours away from her family, hockey, taking all her finals and preparing to come home for winter break she made the mistake of being parked on the street during street cleaning and her car was towed! We had looked on the New Haven portal to see where her car was and the company that was listed online was incorrect and didn t have her car. We were trying everything we could from far away to find her car for hours. I stumbled across Megills and figured I d give it a shot and see if they have her car. As no surprise to me just as everywhere else we had called they didn t have it. What was a surprise was how incredibly helpful Timmy was! I explained the situation and confirm with the advice he had given me. What I didn t know was that he was going to assist in helping find the car himself! Within minutes he called me back telling me he found it and where she needed to go! He went above and beyond what he needed to! Of all the companies we spoke to he was the only one to reach out a helping hand and we are forever grateful for his kindness! With all of that my sister got her car back and is bringing it in to Megills tomorrow so we can make sure she gets home for break and back to school safely! It s people like this that remind you there are still good genuine people in this world! He s gained a new customer and the trust of my family and I know my sister will recommend Megills to fellow teammates, classmates and friends she makes during her next 4 years in New Haven! Thank you again from my sister my family and I!

I went into the shop on a friends recommendation looking for new tires and to my surprise I was told I did not need tires. I appreciated their honesty and they will be my go to mechanics from now on. Thank you Timmy Jerome.

We got towed from the highway, today and made our payments today at the spot. It was advised to the owner that we were going to pick up our car the same day, but they instead park another car in front of ours so now we are unable to tow the vehicle out of the parking lot. And we guarantee you, that another day will not be paid for since you guys are the one blocking the car. We call the store and any other contact info that we found on Google, there is no possible way of getting in contact with them.

Mack, Tim and the entire crew are amazing. They keep my car in tip-top shape, and I do a lot of driving so I visit them regularly. They are excellent diagnosticians, and there hasn't been a problem that they couldn't fix.

Really good local shop. Quick to take care of my car issues and fast with getting the parts needed. Handled my warranty policy with ease and got my car back within same day. I left a ton of stuff in my car I even think I left my go pro and nothing was stolen or unaccounted for (as per another reviewer). Seemed like good people. Good experience. Recommend.

My car got towed and dropped here. I'm sure experiences with the shop depend on who's behind the counter, but the night shift guy was great. He gave advice on paying the ticket, and my car was dead when I went to pick it up so he helped me jump it. I was having a rough night, and I think he picked up on that and went out of his way to be helpful.

These guys are awesome. We live several states away and got had a breakdown on the highway at night. Vito, one of their drivers, came to get us. He was very personable, courteous, genuinely helpful, and made a big effort to work with our insurance company.The most impressive part was the next day - the owner spent over an hour locating a power steering pump for us at a regional junkyard and had us up and running that afternoon! We were absolutely shocked at how inexpensive the repair was - about half of what we expected.Overall, we were very impressed with their professionalism; they helped us quickly, for less money than we anticipated, and communicated well through the process.

Women, beware. They put a cheap catalytic converter in my husband's car and the light in the car never went off. My husband returned a couple of times and they never said it was a bad part. Over time, my husband didn't want to go back again, but then his car failed inspection. I called Megill's and was told the part wasn't under warranty anymore and in response to my frustration, the owner said something like, "Don't make your husband dinner tonight."Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Timmy is great. Great customer service and outstanding with giving me a helping hand. Timmy communicated and kept his word. Very understanding and met my expectations. I am very thankful I dealt with him specifically as he was willing to help. Thank you again Timmy, I appreciate it.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would have!! Very unprofessional and rude, did not help AT ALL but put me on hold several times.. And I still hung up the phone unhappy with none of the information that I called for. If you total your car MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR PLATES!! They don t return them to the dmv like they reassure you the would. And then they give you the run around when you call to fix their crook ways.

I got my vehicle towed from a gas station 0.5 miles away to their shop and they charged me 80 dollars. They also did work on my vehicle without my consent and charged me an additional $100 before I could take my vehicle. I would not recommend this place!

Last night I got into a car crash and found myself in the hospital. My vehicle was promptly towed by these guys. They must've been listening to the police radio since they came in really quick to take my car. When leaving the hospital I got a letter telling me to call them. I told myself that I would Uber home and handle it in the morning but soon after realized that my keys were still in the car. So I took an Uber to my friends house and used her phone to try and call these guys. A guy answered the phone and he told me that he would pick me up and bring me to the car to get my house keys and stuff but.that I would have to pay him $111.66 AND sign over the title to my car. During my car crash I suffered a minor concussion and was still very shocked and dissoreinted. Everything felt like a blur to me and I just wanted to get home to feed my cat. So he told me to sign some stuff, gave me my stuf and dropped me off at home. Then the next day I walked to work 30 mins and everything started coming back to me and I realized that I had been scammed out of my car. The guy on the phone lied to me telling me that the car was totalled and that it wouldn't be worth towing it to my place because it couldn't drive. I know that the car could drive because it was still running just fine after the accident. It was only the door that sustained damage. Had he been honest with me I would've paid the 250 to have it towed to my place and been done with it. But he had to lie to me. Anyways. I was at work and earlier in the week I had a deal worked out for me to get a new car.and this car was a vital part of that deal going through. So I called these guys up and they originally told me that I would be able to pay the $140 or whatever it is and they would drop the car off to me. He told me to call back in an hour to set it up. When I called back in an hour the guy who answered the phone was very rude and told me that I would need to purchase the vehicle back from him since i signed the title over to him. I don't even remember doing that since I was still in a concussed state of blurry mind at the time. So he said he would "make me a deal" and I could just pay him and EXTRA $95 and he would give me my car back. So that plus that 140 or so so in total these guys tried to get like $360 out of me just because I got in a crash literally a quarter mile down the road. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have never in all my life felt so taken advantage of before . The men best believe I have my lawyer working this case right now. If they are reading this now I would appreciate it if you could have some heart and help me out. I am a 25 year old kid who got kicked out at 16 and am just trying to make a life for myself. I need this car in order to move forward in life. So not only did that crash hurt me physically but you guys hurt me emotionally by taking advantage of me. I'm going to pray for you guys tonight that you find it.in your heart to release the car to me.

The guys at Megills are true pros. They care about their customer. We needed a tow after an accident, the driver answered all our questions and put us at ease. Car was totaled they walked us through what needed to be done.

This is our local garage. They do a very good business here. The owner and mechanics are very helpful and knowledgable. They have always been very forthcoming with us about repair options and what is most cost effective. Always been there for us when needed. Highly recommend.

My car got towed and when I arrived to pick my car up, the dude who helped me was super nice and friendly! Only down fall, it is cash only but other than that I had no problems with this company.

Quick response time in the cold weather. The tow driver was a gentleman. First cold snap and my car wouldnt start. Thank you for being so nice

Their driver's are constantly speeding through the local area, never obey traffic signs and have no sense of safety for last 15 years. With or W/O towing a car. Complaints are laughed off. If AAA says there responding, refuse their service and ask for a different company. I wouldn't let these guys tow a car to the junkyard.

They were called by state police to tow my car from accident scene. They were courteous and helpful. Having to pay the tow in cash was not convenient though.

Purchased a Honda Civic from this business back in March 2012, here it is August 2012 and this car is sitting in my driveway with a blown head gasket. 5 months later and I already need to invest hard earned cash in major repair.

My car was towed due to a car accident when I went to pick it up they were so rude and disgusting!!! They also stole most of my kids Christmas gifts I had left in my car I do not recommend this place at all!!!!!

These people are very rude and nasty. They have no customer service skills. Had to encounter because car got towed but avoid like the plague.
