I received a gift certificate in the very specific amount of $411.17 from Standard Shine, LLC in Meriden, CT as a present from my girlfriend and her mother. It was to cover the cost of a remote starter for my car, a 2015 Subaru Impreza. Remote starter was even written on the gift certificate. My girlfriend s mother spoke with someone at Status Shine about it. Status Shine asked for the make, model, and year of my car. Status Shine didn t think to ask whether the car was automatic or standard. I guess Status Shine was too excited about the fast cash in their pocket.Turns out my car is standard. And the quote was for an automatic car. When I called Status Shine to find out if it was even possible, or legal, to install a remote starter in a standard car, the business owner, Greg, didn t know. But he did say that if it were possible it would probably cost more. After 3 days, he called back saying he learned a way to do it and that there would be an additional cost of $155.After researching about remote starters for standard vehicles on auto websites, I learned it was unsafe and even illegal in some states. Additionally, I contacted my local Subaru Dealership Service center. They said they would highly advise against it because the work would require some overriding and thus could lead to potential problems with the car in the future.I tried reasoning with the Status Shine business owner Greg, kindly asking him for a refund for my girlfriend and her mother. He replied I m not a multi-million dollar business, like Walmart, so I can t do refunds. Side note: none of us are Bill Gates.Then, Greg mentioned that the gift certificate could be used as a store credit for some of his other products (tints, WeatherTech, etc.). But I don t feel this is right. The gift certificate was purchased for a specific reason, not for any other service or products. And trying to upsell me to pay more for a remote starter just seems wrong, too. The quote was wrong in the first place because Status Shine didn t ask enough specific questions, like a professional auto place should. The right thing to do would be to give a refund.All of this could have been avoided if Status Shine had done their job right the first time. Hopefully they can make it right and do the right thing now. Give us a full refund.

I couldn't be more thrilled than when I got.my car back from Craig. I received it in better condition than when I got it from the dealership.at delivery. Craig was incredible to me. He had my car done way ahead of schedual and, I can't say this enough, my car is beautiful. Needless to say I will.be back. THANK YOU!!.

Had my windows tinted on my VW GTI. Greg was professional and courteous throughout the whole process. He picked up my car from work and delivered it when he was done. I would not hesitate to use him again for future vehicles.
