I've been taking my car to Safe Auto for around 10 years now, and I can't recommend them enough. They're always honest and upfront about repairs, and they never try to sell me anything I don't need. The mechanics are knowledgeable and professional, and they always do a great job.

I just called to figure out if I can have someone check my car and get me a paper on a diagnostic. They said an engine diagnostic is 120. I stopped before he kept going. 120 just to check the car. I later on explained why I needed it, and they wanted personal information, and if I didn't give it to them, they said they can't work on my car. Truly don't understand the other reviews, he was super rude. Thank God I didn't step place inside of this place. Sounds expensive. Good luck if you go here!

Shared Story. I live in Meriden last 3 years. Never had car issues. Past weekend my left front axel broke. I searched around my city for Auto shops and Safe Service was 2 mins from my home. Friday I walked in was greeted with friendly and staff told me have my car towed Monday morning. I did just that and they fixed my car affordable and great to my car

I lost my long time mechanic over 30 years of working on my cars he,s almost impossible to replace plus and he became a good friend trough the years rest in peace I've been looking for another garage one of them was so filthy and dirty tell me what it was going to be how much it was going to be before he even looked at the car and then I called up out of the blue safe Auto all kinds of questions about my car like a professional told me to come down and drop it off I explained to him what I thought was wrong he took the car for the day called me back it was something totally opposite what the other garage said what's wrong and wanted a massive amount of money I wouldn't even repeat it and it didn't even need it the mechanic at safe transportation called me back tell me what the problem was told me the price it was done in an hour went and picked it up I mean I was so happy these guys were so professional and you could literally eat off the floor of this garage that's how clean this garage I give these guys five stars and I found my new mechanic so thank you safe Auto service and I will be calling you at the end of the week thank you again five stars

This is the second time I've brought my Silverado to be repaired at Safe Auto. The first time they gave me an estimate which I thought was reasonable. When I picked it up, it was almost $100 cheaper than the estimate. I called there last week for a radiator and he took my truck right in next day, is the lot was full but he said he would try to get mine done that day. I received the call at 3:00 telling me that my truck was ready for pickup. This time it was around $50 cheaper than the estimate I had agreed on. The work is fast, competent,. and reasonably priced. That's a home run where I come from!Greg Murphy

Really great place. Very friendly and professiona also very reasonable prices! My car was fixed the same day and they even replaced items that would cause my car to break very soon. But dont get me wrong they dont upsel items tou dont need, they just care about your safety. I'm beyond happy with the service and will always recommend them to friends and family.

As a woman I always feel intimidated going into an auto shop when I know very little about cars. I went to Monro Auto Service a little over a month ago due to an issue with my breaks and they unfortunately did not do the repairs correctly and overcharged me. I did not feel safe driving my car and I have a road trip coming up so after reading all of the great reviews I finally went and got my car fixed today at Safe Auto Service. Fortunately, the reviews are correct! They are efficient, friendly, and very well priced. They also took the time to explain to me what work they did and why they did it. I will definitely be taking my car here for any future repairs. I would also absolutely recommend them to anyone I know. As soon I left I texted my dad to rave about them! I am glad that I can drive my car and feel a lot more safe on the road.Service: Brakes

I brought my car in twice for A/C repair -- once for a hose, then to replace the compressor. My aftermarket warranty company was giving Ken a hard time. He was on the phone with them for hours. It turned out that we had to pay the difference for the part. The warranty company told me that I would likely be charged extra fees for tools and disposal. I called back to Ken. He assured me that he would not charge me anything extra. Once approved, the work was done promptly. Nothing extra was charged even for the time he spent trying to work with my company on the phone. This shop was honest and didn't try to squeeze us for more money. A/C is working fine now. Would recommend and will bring the car back to Safe Auto for repairs if needed.

I have taken my 2011 Honda CRV with several thousand miles to safe auto several times over the last few years. I don t know much about cars but I always do my research as to what could be causing the issue I am having and range of cost to fix it. Each time they were friendly , efficient and fairly priced. I will continue to use them.

Great group here. I'm not from the area and looking for a mechanic is always a must when moving to a new place. I dread trying to find a mechanic that I can trust will keep my family's safety in mind, all with fair prices. Ken is a great person to work with and who follows his word. I've found a place I'm happy to trust with my car. Highly recommend.

If you re looking for a great service center - go with SAFE Auto Service! My A5 needed immediate service and the dealer had no appointments available. Called SAFE Auto after searching service centers in the area and they told me to bring my car. I arrived and noted how clean the business was and organized. I felt safe leaving my car with them right from that moment. Dropped it off with Ken, for an oil change and a few minutes after they d gotten it in the air they phoned me about a serious safety hazard with my front brakes. My rotors were practically nonexistent. He gave me a price and i said go for it. He and Jeff were kind, friendly and very honest about the necessary services needed to keep safe. This is the 1st time i let my car so long in between maintenance intervals and they took such excellent care of my baby! Thank you SAFE Auto for a wonderful experience! I will be returning for all future service. My brakes feel 100% better and runs smooth as she should! I really appreciate you all! Hey Ken - if you took photos of those rotors feel free to post!

My truck had a rear shock mounting bracket break off the axle. I knew it would take skilled metal fabrication and weld on a curved and rusty axle surface. I tried Safe Auto as I was impressed with their working owner on the phone and his long-standing business model. When I inspected the fix I was pleasantly surprised by the robust, high quality craftsmanship at a reasonable price. Attached is a photo of the nice work!

Great service! I m new to the area and I went to a big franchise first, and they told me I needed new breaks and gave a huge price for repairs. I couldn t pay that at the moment so I decided to go to SAFE Auto for another look. SAFE Auto took a look at my breaks and let me know my breaks actually look brand new! and there was no repair needed. They even showed me how to check my breaks for the future! Have been going to Firestone for years wanted to make the jump to a local, reliable mechanic. Safe auto was recommended by a friend and I m glad I made the switch. Kenny is really friendly and transparent. He was communicative throughout the repair process and a pleasure to work with. I was even charged slightly less than my quote! That s honesty. My daughter s car was in need of an alignment so I called a local garage owner that was referred to me long ago as a great and honest mechanic. His garage did not have the equipment to do alignments so he referred me to Ken at Safe Auto Service.When my kids were young, I use to always say I want to take them to the doctor that the doctor takes their own kids to. Now the same goes for my vehicles. I want to take my car where a good, honest mechanic would take his own car. And that is Ken at Safe Auto Service. Anyway, Ken performed the alignment and was done when he said he would be, didn't find (or make up) any other problems that needed repaired and the cost was very reasonable. I was very satisfied with the experience, so much so that when my car needed a major repair, I called Ken.I get my cars oil changed by a neighbor. He explained that my vehicle was cupping and in need of struts, shocks and an alignment. I again called Ken at Safe Auto Service. Not really knowing what cupping was and never hearing the term, I didn't give Ken much information other than maybe needing an alignment. He set up an appointment which he made in a very timely manner. Ken diagnosed the problem and nearly word for word described what my neighbor said was wrong, including using the term cupping. Ken was upfront with all aspects of the costs and repairs and provided great communication along the way. Ken is professional, courteous and is easy to communicate with. I will definitely use Ken in the future, but hopefully no time soon.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

Trustworthy mechanics are hard to find nowadays. I have taken my vehicle for repairs at this shop since 2020. All repairs have been performed in a timely manner, decent pricing and most importantly have never taken my vehicle back for the same issue. I personally met owner, great attitude and all about business, just how I like it. I highly recommend.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We had purchased a vehicle that was previously serviced at Safe Auto and decided to return to get our first service on the vehicle. Being that it has 238,000 miles on it, we figured they know how to keep a vehicle running. We'll they did not disappoint, thanks for the friendly experience and yes, we will be going back again and again to keep our sequoia on the road running strong!

Get Ready, this is a long one. I think it's safe to say that Ken is my new mechanic. After having terrible experiences at Pep Boys, Firestone, & Meineke. Ken is the most honest mechanic I have come in contact with & his business does not try to rob people with overpricing like other businesses. He was friendly and welcoming from the moment I met him. He made it a note to show me exactly where the damage of my vehicle was (bent tire rod) before doing any work. His words were literally, "I want you to see it for yourself, you've never been here before & we want to build trust with you" WOW!! As a female, I've never had a mechanic speak to me, respect me, and explain things to me the way he did. It was refreshing. He fixed the tire rod, wheel alignment, and replaced my brakes in a matter of 2 hours, After Meineke took 4.5 hrs to replace my tires. He called me when it was ready, I was prepared to walk to the shop again & he refused & came and picked me up from my location!! What a stand-up guy. He's super nice, friendly & he talked to me like we were family. He runs an honest business working on the vehicles himself. I'm so impressed. Thanks Ken! I just moved to the area and needed repairs on my car. I found SAFE Auto Service online and based on their good reviews, brought my car there. They did not disappoint! Ken and the team did a awesome job replacing rear shocks, brakes, diagnosing and fixing the ABS light issue. Ken followed up several times with cost, and timeframe. The team did the repairs quickly and Ken even picked me up so that I wouldn't have to walk back to the shop in the rain. Thank you Ken and the SAFE Auto team! Ken and Jeff are simply phenomenal they are great and I recommend them both!!! After multiple times going back and forth with another mechanic who screwed me over I got tired and tried safe repair and let me tell you I am a content costumer and will go back when ever needed for my vehicle I now feel safe driving not having to worry about any issues!!! Check them out they are also fast, trustworthy and good with there prices!!!

Ken made it easy and was straight with me about pricing and what was needed for the vehicles. The repairs where done quickly and efficiently. I know people will say sometimes pricing is expensive, but after I did some research on what was done the pricing was really great. Thanks Ken and crew for being professional and doing a terrific job. I will continue to come to your garage. Trust between a mechanic and a consumer is always a number 1 priority in this business and Ken got my trust all the way. Thanks again to your all the mechanics that works on both my Hyundai's.

I cannot say enough good things about this small business establishment, the owner Ken, is terrific, honest, & extremely affordable,I had them fix my AC earlier in the year, but this time I was stressing,I was about to drive 800 miles with my cats and my car was acting hesitant, although he was busy, he was able to get me in the next day,I dropped my car off weds morning at 730, and had my car back by 3pm. So glad I didn't try to drive without getting things checked out, apparently I had a mouse & his family (along with a ton of stuffing) living in my air box, he replaced my filter and air mass sensor and the car drives like a dream, not only that, but I was getting in the high 30's for gas mileage on my long journey south. Meriden is lucky to have Ken and his team as a valued business in the city. Its SO hard to find reliable, honest and reasonably priced service these days, and this shop checks all of the boxes. Ken and his team have a client & a TON of referrals for as long as they are in business. Thank you again for taking the stress out of my drive! Ken and crew are always highly knowledgeable about what s wrong w my car and won t be dishonest just to make an extra buck. This is the only place I trust. My car was towed here a couple of months ago, in need of serious repair. I immediately felt well taken care of even though I was a new customer. The repairs were done very quickly and the pricing was very fair. I just brought my car in again for a completely different issue. The service was extremely fast. Ken is amazing, I never felt pressured and appreciate his honesty. I will continue to be a faithful customer going forward.
