first time bringing my car in- i ve had not so great luck with shops for my 14 C300 but happy to say Bennett was wonderful. prompt communication; fair pricing, and my car is driving so smoothly after the transmission service. thank you!!!

Called to get an estimate cost on the work to replace the oem charge pipe on my 2017 BMW M2 which exploded during a track day at Lime Rock Park. I needed to explain what a charge pipe was to the woman receptionist, after which she consulted with the mechanic. They refused to do the work which is a simple bolt on procedure between the intake manifold and intercooler. I considered to do it myself but figured I would get an estimate so that I didn't have to struggle underneath the car without a lift. Thanks for nothing.

I had quite the list of jobs for these guys, and it was done exceptionally well. I've been dreading getting the valve cover replaced, and they did it without any issues! My car is performing so much better, it sounds and feels like it did years ago. I felt completely heard when I put forth my concerns with the maintenance/work that I knew my car needed. These guys listened and carried out the job in a professional, high quality, and timely manner. Very knowledgable when it comes to BMWs. Prices are very reasonable too. Overall, they've definitely earned my trust.One star removed as I tried to make an appointment recently, then when I called back to confirm a few days later, no one had any record of the appointment. The next available appointment was a full week out from when I originally planned on bringing my car in- except I had a time, and possibly safety sensitive issue so ended up having to just take it to BMW. Communication could be a little bit better. I was disappointed with my last attempt to book an appointment.

Quick service, fair pricing, and truly specialists of European vehicles. I've had some bigger jobs done here on my mercedes and the issues never come back!

Brought my Audi here because felt swaying in the rear , one test drive and 3 mins on the lift and he found the issue! Extremely knowledgeable owner and one hell of a guy ! I had a tire blow out directly in front of Bennett motor works today, as you can see in the picture below. I walked in offering to pay and was refused service because my tires were too big for their machine . My father called to explain I have a spare tire and all they had to do was change it (takes about 5-10 minutes) and the owners said they were too busy to help me, but apparently had the time to sit on the phone with him and give him an attitude while a young woman is stuck on the side of the road in front of their establishment. I would not recommend doing business with disgusting people like this. It boggles my mind that a mechanic shop refuses service to simply change a tire (something I could do myself if I had the tools on hand) and the dynamic in there was just weird. If you re looking for practical and stand up people to do business with I recommend the Litchfield filling station on the same road as Bennett motor works. Rj from the Litchfield filling station came and changed my tire in five minutes and would not accept any payment from me because he said if my daughter was stuck on the side of the road I would hope someone would do the same for her .

I have taken my cars to Bennett Motor Werks for about twenty years. The quality of service is outstanding, and there is no issue that they can't handle. It is family run, and I can't say enough good things about the shop, quality of the work or the family that owns it. Don't be put off by the building or shop. It is not a hotel lobby, but a true mechanic's shop. The focus is on your car, not on fresh flowers and a magnificent waiting area. And, the prices are very reasonable, so if that is important, go to the Winvian for drinks with the money you save.

Charged $330.00 for an oil change and two cabin filters, which I did not ask for. When I questioned the bill, the owner threw an epic tantrum. Beware.

I've been taking my vehicles to Bennett for many years and have always received top notch service at a reasonable rate compared to using the dealer.I'm very pleased with the quality of work and the expedient professional results.I continue to be a patron of his shop.

Good experience here. Have a mini cooper, the check engine light kept coming on. It was at another place for a week and they weren't able to figure out what was going on with it. Brought it to Bennett and they figured it out pretty quickly. People were easy to work with.

Paul and his team are the best. They do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it, and for what they predict it will cost. They are good at diagnosing what you need and look our for your wallet. For example, one of our cars was getting worse than usual mileage - I asked if we should put in new spark plugs, even though they weren't yet due to be changed. Paul countered with changing the air filter, which did need to be done.

TERRIBLE!!!Unfortunately I am unable to rate their service as I didn't receive any. This place came highly recommended by the man that sold my BMW to me. I figured I'd give it a shot. I made a 2 PM appointment and was there by 2 PM. I walked in and there was a man and a woman sitting behind the counter. I walk up to the counter and nobody greeted me or said anything. I finally said "I have a 2:00 PM appointment for an oil change". The woman behind the counter said okay. So I stood there looking at her waiting for further direction and she didn't say anything to me. Finally I said "do you need anything from me?" She said "just your keys" They were already on the counter so I said "okay thank you" and took a seat. After about 5 minutes The woman shouts from behind the counter "can you come back at 4 PM?". I got up and walked over to the counter and said "well I'm pretty far. It took me about 35 minutes to get here" (in a very polite manner) The guy who was behind the counter was upset at my response so he said "WELL SHE IS GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR!" Yelling at the poor woman behind the counter. She said "I know, I told her that" Which she didn't really tell me that. I figured they might be trying to prioritize which jobs to do first and since I had an appointment and traveled pretty far for an oil change I thought they could squeeze me at my already scheduled appointment time. I guess that was too much to ask. I was working from home and couldn't be gone for 3 hours so I just said "I can't wait that long, I'll figure something else out" I regrettably slammed the door a bit on the way out but I just wasted an hour for nothing and was a bit upset. I was extremely polite and didn't appreciate the lack of customer service and the attitude from the man working there. The poor woman was so quiet it seemed like she was scared to talk in fear of what the guy would do to her. Definitely do not recommend this place! If I could give negative stars I would.

The blower motor in my Volvo XC70 stopped working. From the 2008 model year and onwards, it is a complicated and time-consuming job to replace the fan.Access to special tools and acrobatic, mechanical, electronic skills is required of the person doing the job.I did some research about who can repair European cars here in CT found Bennett Motor Verks in Litchfield. Called them and asked if they could do the job, of course was the answer. I went there and they did a perfect job. If you have a Volvo, Bennett Motor Verks is the right shop to go to. Bennett Motor Werks has been our go-to mechanic in Litchfield County for 24 years. As weekenders from New York, we used Paul for all of our automotive maintenance on our Audi A4 after getting a referral from a good friend and neighbor who was very particular about his cars. Paul is old school, friendly in a flinty New England way, and he can come across as gruff, which some reviewers have commented upon here. Yet Paul is a fantastic mechanic, as honest as the day is long, and he has saved us a lot of money on unnecessary maintenance that the dealer would have been happy to charged us for-- over and over again. That is why you see so many BMW, Audi, Porsche and VW owners come to see Bennett Motor Werks again and again. Highly recommended.

My 2013 BMW X3 timing chain let go!Bennett Motor Werks repaired it like new! I highly recommend this business for your foreign car repair!

I hit a pothole and blew out my tire. I went in and asked the owner if he could help me out. they pulled my car in, put on my spare and was on my way in 10 minutes. Much thanks!
