I don t usually write reviews but felt compelled to because the whole staff was great and David who I think is the manager was super super nice and helpful. It also was the fastest oil change I ve ever gotten. Thank you!

I typically like Valvoline because of the speed of their oil changes. However, I did not particularly care for my experience at this one in West Hartford.From the moment I pulled up, I was not directed into which part of the garage to pull into; one of the employees was on his phone and didn t see me pull up, and when he did finally notice me he walked inside the garage without acknowledging me or showing me where to pull in. Instead, I had to wait until someone else saw me and directed me in. When directing me, he directed me to pull forward. My tire hit the walls of the work space below and only then did he tell me to turn the car Once parked in the garage, the upselling began; I do know this is standard though, and they respected when I said I was only interested in an oil change. However, from there on, manners were not used and the man working the computer began opening the door and using car controls to check if anything was malfunctioning but did not communicate any of this with me prior to doing it.Overall, the experience was cold and uncomfortable. My recommendation to staff would be to be more communicative and personable when working with customers. I will continue to go to other Valvolines, but I do not anticipate returning to this specific location.

The staff was friendly enough, but they didn't tighten the drain plug on one of our vehicles after an oil change.

I agree with what Noah wrote in his review, I don t recommend going here which I m sad to say because I used to always leave here very happy with my service. I came in for a routine oil change and it was constant uoselling, and I understand recommendations based on car mileage/age but there s a way to tell someone they should have something serviced and not be rude and condescending. The two people working on my car rolled their eyes every time I talked and the man running the computer kept putting his head and hands inside my car to see mileage/reset oil percentage and didn t ask first or just have me do it myself and that made me uncomfortable. Dillon was extremely rude when recommending additional services my car may need when I told him I would have that done elsewhere - like I said previously there is a way to go about communicating and the way these two men went about it was extremely unprofessional.Service: Oil change

Highly recommend this location and team. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and fast. They showed me all the things I may need today and showed me the new filters, fluids, etc. It was a way better experience than the dealership and was out in less than 15 minutes. Avoid at all costs, right when you pull in they start upselling you and when you politely decline they get super combative. I used to go here maybe 15-20 years ago and it was never this bad! Go to local mechanic or your dealer.

I highly recommend not going here. I m the past two times I have went to get a simple oil change it has been more trouble after they touch my car. The simple oil change turned into so much wrong. They did not put the oil cap back on correctly causing oil to leak out of my car, they over filled oil and told me I was wrong when I said that it should be between L and F, and finally they went to inspect my AC and let all the Freon gas out of my car causing my AC to no longer work. I am definitely never going back here and I would not recommend anyone to go there. I am unfortunately very disappointed with the quality of work being done there.Service: Oil change

I feel compelled to leave a very nice review even though I only went here for a simple emissions test. My family has run an independent repair facility for nearly 75 years so I have come to appreciate fine service when I need to have anything done anywhere else. The service manager walked out to greet me as soon as I pulled into the parking lot on a cold February morning, which is frankly surprisingly but instantly let me know that they actually cared about their customers. Great job, keep it up!

On 7/2/2021, I decided last minute to get the oil changed for my Chevy sedan while out driving. It was time and ready for this service.Overall, I am happy with the professionalism and prompt speed at which this service took. My only complaint was the sticker shock at the oil change price.Bottom line, if you're okay with paying for good service then this is a good place for routine car service.

PART FELL OFF!! They did not fasten the skid plate back on and IT FELL OFF ON THE HIGHWAY. (The skid plate protects the oils pan and needs to be taken off to change the oil) These guys are complete amateurs to say the least. I was leaving on a trip and needed my oil changed so I stopped in and had it changed. I then drive to the highway and about 10 minutes in I hear something dragging down the road really loud so I had to pulled over and I saw the skid plate was only bolted on the rear half (it requires 4 bolts, 2 in the front and 2 in the rear and the 2 front bolts were not installed) and the front was dragging down the highway. I took pictures and sent them to the tech and was promised the manager would give me a call and that they would take care of it and that they would be ordering the part. I never got a call and it s been a week now. I did get a hold of the tech just before writing this review and he said the manager said he needs to see the vehicle in person now. I guess pictures clearly showing the issue and damage 15 minutes after I left the place isn t proof enough. The manager didn t even have the decency to call me! Unbelievable to say the least. The bottom line is these guys are passing the buck and are irresponsible! I recommend using a different oil change service that understands the work and has decent customer service. I get mistakes happen but to not own it and correct the issue says a lot about a company and it s management.Service: Oil change

Courteous, professional and fast. Drove up on a Wednesday morning without an appointment and was ushered in immediately. In and out in about 20 minutes for an oil change, air filter change, light check and tire pressure check. No one tried to upsell or push any additional services. Highly recommend this team of professionals!

In this Valvoline location, the customer service was professional and excellent. Jos� and Luis are assets to the company. They are acknowledged for the work they are performing. I recommend this location to anybody whose car needs an oil change. Adios amigos!!!

BEWARE!!!I been using Valvoline for oil change for 10 plus years. My last visit is the last one with this company.The fix priced oil change is no longer fixed. They have now addons that they charge for, and they only tell you about it at time of paying. I raise the issue with the manager, who was not interested addressing my complain.Poor way of keeping a loyal customer.

Staff were so professional, knowledgeable and respectful. No lines, You drive up into garage and get serviced while sitting in your car not in a waiting room. They explain everything they are doing step by step and more than welcome to questions.

The staff here is quick and professional. The assistant manager was very kind and helpful. He did a great job of showing the recommended services for my car without making it feel like he was pushing me to get them. Overall best experience I've had at any valvoline & I will be back.

Well I went in today because thought I was due. I never reset my od and read my sticker wrong been a long few weeks. Well they were awesome told me see you in 1K. Really great to see will see them in a month or so....

I will always recommend the guys at Valvoline in West Hartford for any regular maintenance needs. They are highly professional, get the job done exactly as you request every time and you don t need to worry about getting overcharged. They will always tel you what service they recommend for your car but I have never felt pressure if I am not ready to pay for a service at that time. Instead, they will print off what they recommend to get done the next time you visit.A great group of guys that I most definitely trust with my cars.

Poor quality service , non professional nor diligent, I bought a new car battery from them last December and emphasized to them that I am not a local and I want the best quality in everything. They installed the new battery kept it lose without a base , Cables were not tightened to the battery and rust was all over the battery, I went back to them again this march for water oil and battery check and they said all was well, I dorve to New Jersey and came back , and yesterday , after a long day at work I left the hospital and went to my car , tried to turn it on and here we go it is not working !!! Battery is low . I called police department at UCONN to jump it , did not work , the I called triple A to jump it and help me fix the issue ! when the guy came in he showed me the horrible condition and status the battery was in , rust all over , detached and loose and cables are out , thats why it id not jump with the police man !!! I cannot understand how can a well reputed place like Valvoline have such employees !!! i wasted 2 hour last night in the parking lot of UCONN Health for triple A to come and save my car , my collogues were also there with me , we were all shocked . it is very sad to see people losing their wok ethics ! I hope this will change in the future and there will be more supervision from the administration on those employees. thanksService: Battery

Been going here for years. This is a good crew, and well managed operation. I would definitely recommend them. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they don't do more services, like brakes.

My name Ronald and I went to Valvoline today at this location and the employee named Matt was very clumsy disrespectful as I would pulling In In as a customer displaying hands signs I'm not familiar with Witch I took as disrespectful also when I told Matt what I was there at Valvoline for an oil change his first reaction Is,"WHAT OIL CHANGE!!!!"What kind of Oil Change"Moreover for Matt to tell a customer If I'm Ok when I wasn't even talking to him????? Unprofessional.He was Jamaican decent being very rude.I just left at that point.Clearly he's been trained to run certain people away.Just a bad place to go to.

Not worth the 1 star. I only went here because I also needed an emissions test when I needed my oil changed. On a 95 degree day they removed air from my tires. They manhandled the doors, latches, and front compartment with their greasy fingers and had nothing to remove the grease stains left behind, they charged me for items without discussing with me first. They did not discuss any of the oil change with me until it was time to pay and expected me to pay for their selections. Overall very unhappy and hoping my car doesn't develop severe problems like the other reviewers.

Generally a quick and painless process. You get the usual sales pitches for additional add-ons which is typical but they are not super pushy. Sometimes I have had to wait awhile to get service but I guess that all depends on what the person ahead of me was having done to their vehicle.

These guys are really fast, organized. I could see them getting my full synthetic oil from tanks in the waiting room. Even with a Groupon coupon, it's not cheap (about $8 in overage charges, on top of the Groupon, but still cheaper than full price), but they're really fast. Did NOT try to upsell me on anything (unlike the one on Park Rd closer to Hartford, which tried to upsell me on all sorts of stuff, which was not at all necessary - even told me my coolant was low, which it was NOT). And it's completely, totally without any physical contact, or them entering the vehicle, so absolutely NO possibility of coronavirus. I would definitely recommend them.

These guys are pros. Super friendly, quick and efficient. They don't push extra services on you; definitely trustworthy. Only place I'll go for oil changes and routine car maintenance.

These guys are the best! I work across the street and they rescued me when my battery died and replaced it for me. They are fast, friendly, professional. HIGHLY recommended.
