I was getting an oil change at another establishment and they noticed an issue with one of my tires. I called Groton Tire and Auto Service while I was getting my oil changed and they said to come over after and they would take a look at my tire. They got me in promptly and fixed my issue quickly. The woman at the front desk was super kind and friendly and educated me on what was wrong with my tire. I have never had such a great experience at an auto shop. 10/10 recommend. I will never go anywhere else for car repairs. They also have an adorable shop cat named Kiki to soothe any anxieties while you wait. So thankful I found this place!

Had the most amazing experience at this shop. Coming from an automotive background it s hard to trust the right place but everyone here was upfront and honest. The prices were amazing and I will suggest family and friends to them 1000Xover. Shout out to everyone at this shop that put my mind at ease and fixed my car up for me you all are amazing!! Will definitely be back for all my automotive needs.

This review is for women! I really wanted to like this autobody shop because I was referred here by my neighbor. I dropped my car back off for an issue I was having and they gave me a $1,000 quote for a control arm and to drain and refill my transmission fluid (even though they couldn t confirm the refill would do anything - said I should drive around and see if it helps ). Something about it felt off because I just had my ball joint replaced over the summer and was certain I didn t need a control arm took it in for a second opinion and I was right. Definitely did not need a control arm for over $600 that they quoted. So yeah, women, if you don t want to give a shop $1,000 for no reason, you should probably go somewhere more trust worthy!

I recently visited Groton tire and auto approximately a month ago to have my brakes serviced. Initially, I only intended to replace all four calipers, brake pads, and rotors. However, during the process, they informed me that my lug nuts were overly tightened, necessitating replacements. Additionally, they claimed my parking brake was faulty and refused to reassemble it without a replacement. Despite my reservations, I consented, resulting in an unexpected expenditure of nearly $3,000.Unfortunately, my ordeal did not end there. Subsequently, I returned to address overheating batteries and an alternator issue, accompanied by a request for new battery terminals. Regrettably, they opted against replacing the cables and later notified me of a cracked radiator, prompting another $2,000 expenditure and an agonizing week-long wait for installation.Upon retrieving my truck, equipped with a new radiator, I encountered transmission problems while driving on Rhode Island's 95 highway. Alarmed by erratic shifting, I discovered transmission fluid pooling beneath the vehicle. Investigation revealed improperly installed transmission lines, with missing fittings and shorter than before. Desperate for a solution, I enlisted the aid of another shop, shelling out an additional $400 for repairs.To compound my frustration, my brand-new brakes malfunctioned, resulting in a complete brake system failure not long after installation. This series of mechanical mishaps, culminating in excessive costs and safety concerns, has left me deeply dissatisfied with Groton Tire And Auto's services.Despite their courteous customer service, their mechanical expertise falls short. I would caution against patronizing them for anything beyond tire-related services, as my experience suggests a glaring deficiency in their technical capabilities.

Brought my car in to get my brake pads changed as I was sure they were due. Dropped my car off and requested to get all 4 wheels done, only to get called back 20 minutes later because their inspection revealed that my pads still had quite a bit of wear left in them. No charge. I was shocked! Do you think Midas or any of the large chain operators would have been so honest & turned away easy money like that? Definitely NOT. These guys have won my business for life.

Was really down on my luck right before Christmas. I had tired not holding air and the caps to fill them were all stuck on them. I am disabled and getting the tire out of my Jeep to even change the worst one was impossible for me. Called and was quoted $15 to change it for me. Ended up being a doughnut tire but they put it on, didn t charge me, and just asked for my business for future needs. I will absolutely go to them now I have the money for my 4 new tires

Had the BEST experience ever at Groton Tire and Auto. Ended up with a screw in my tire and a soon to be flat and Groton Tire and Auto were willing and able to fix it despite closing within 10 minutes of my arrival. Incredibly helpful, super friendly and a great business! I will be returning for all my auto needs moving forward. Thanks so much!!

They super overcharged me for the service (I work at a busy dealership so I know what the price should be), made me find & buy my own parts after I sent it into the garage, left my corvette a MESS, and did not care when I brought it up. At least they got the job done but I won t ever be going back.

I have been a customer here for the past two years and sadly will no longer bring my vehicles here after today. Brought my car them due to a slight stumble at idle, get a call and suprised when they tell me a head gasket, yet they perfomed no testing. I bring the car home, no coolant in the oil, perform a cooling system pressure test and it holds 18 psi for over an hour no leaks, perform a compression test over 150 psi on each cylinder, ohmed out all the plug wires all good, inspcted all plugs and one of them had a cracked electrode. Replaced all 8 plugs and car is running great. Trying to ell me a headgasket when it was a sparkplug. 1 of 3 things1. Either the tech was inexperienced2. They didnt want to work on my oldercar3. They just wanted to make moneyStay away

I'm not sure who gave this place good Reviews or maybe they just paid for them. I brought my car there a few weeks ago. I needed my AC charged. They called me about an hour after I dropped my car off to say that I had a blown trdismission and a blown Turbo as well as Problems with my Catalytic converter and that I should junk my car. Current blue book value on my car is over $11k. They were shockingly rude about it! Luckily when my regular mechanic came back to town, I brought my car to him. He charged my AC, changed my transmission fluid, and replaced an o2 censor. He tested the turbo and told me there was nothing wrong with it. Imagine if I had believed these people? My car has been running perfect ever since! I highly recommend that You do not bring.your care there.

Brought my car in during a snowstorm because I had run over a screw, and in just 30 minutes they fixed it up good as new! For only $20 too! Would hiiiighly recommend to anyone who needs car and/or tire services in the Groton area!!!

Been having all my cars serviced here for over 15 years. Groton Tire is honest, reasonably priced and completes repairs efficiently and on time. They're great.

I am coming from another auto shop that I needed to part ways with. So we were in search for a new honest and fair shop.I gave Groton Tire & Auto a chance and I am so happy we did!! It started with my call with Pat on Friday as they were closing. She was so unbelievably nice that even though it was a tad more expensive to go to this shop, it was 100% worth it! Her kindness really made me pick this shop.We dropped off our car off at 8:30ish, told the tires wouldn t be in until 10am. We anticipates we wouldn t have the car back until the evening based off our experience with another shop (the one we broke up with haha) but by 10:36 they called us to pick it up!!I am so pleased with this experience.They also have the cutest cat so that s another reason to go!

Came here to get my tire looked at after being told by another company it needed to be completely replaced. It ended up being a nail in my tire that was never caught. Got it patched up and returned to me quickly. Definitely going to come back here for any work our cars need.

Ryan was very helpful on the phone before I came in. Bought tires and had them installed for a fair price. I appreciate how they didn't try to talk me into anything more expensive than what I needed.Edit: I came back for an emissions related repair. After another shop sold me expensive repairs that didn't even fix the problem, I came here and got it taken care of. I only wish I had come here first! I will in the future.

I had a leak and decided to get 4 new tires. They were able to get me in the same day and had me out in an hour. I had a good service experience and got to pet a cat.

Rarely do I smile when paying for a repair, but this was one of those times. Got me in, fixed up, and back on the road quicker than expected. Knowledgeable and competent mechanics. Friendly staff. Would recommend.

This place is awesome! Came in to get a patch on a tire and they didn't charge me. All they asked is that we come back for tires when we are ready. We will be back for sure and recommend other to do as well. Thank you so much for the excellent service.

Got tires here. The folks were all very nice. All went well with the tires. That part was good. We also had new brakes and rotors installed. Unfortunately that did not go very well. We brought the car back right after they were installed because of a rubbing sound. They took the car out for a drive but no one could hear it. We brought the car back numerous times because of that rubbing sound. It was not subtle, really it was quite loud and got worse as time went on. The mechanic said he could not figure out what the problem was. Turns out the rotors were warped or faulty when the brakes were installed. Nobody wanted to fix the problem. They wobbled and thunked for about a year til we could not stand it any longer. My husband watched a Youtube video on installing brakes on our model of car. We purchased the brakes on Amazon and the install was a breeze. The cost was very reasonable. Finally smooth braking and no more noise! My advice, go here for tires, but elsewhere for mechanical service.

Fast, inexpensive, and trustworthy. Wouldn't bring my truck anywhere else. Very military friendly. They don't take appointments, but they have a night drop off and I've never had to wait longer than a business day for any maintenance.

Groton Tire & Auto may look run-down and dirty, but the owners are honest to a fault, intelligent, and do an excellent job on everything wheel and tire related. The business is family run--all of them car nuts, based on conversations I've had with them.For those of you who track you car or participate in autocross events, they have good optical alignment equipment and have an alignment expert on standby that they call in whenever someone sets up an appointment.Other than the fact that they close early (4 PM) and don't work weekends, I have zero complaints and recommend them to my friends. Over the past two years, all of the work I've asked them to do has been done right the first time, and their prices are competitive.

Referred by a friend and found them exactly as he described; honest, professional and most importantly, locally-owned and managed. Called and explained to Tom what I wanted for tires. He gave me a price and said he could have them that afternoon. Price was similar to ordering on-line and it included mounting as well. When I arrived they took my car right in. The installer wasn't some kid but a skilled mechanic who was meticulous with every aspect of the job. And best of all, no one tried to 'up-sell' me with unnecessary services I didn't want or need. This is the way a business should be run and I highly recommend Groton Tire and Auto.

I brought my F-250 in for a leaking exhaust manifold on the passenger side. They found a cracked one on the driver s side too. Replaced both with genuine Ford parts now it s quiet as can be. A very fair price too. Couldn t be happier.
