My experience at the Penfield Service Center today was exceptional! I made an appointment for a tire alignment after having all four tires replaced by DeSantie Tire (who also is amazing). Mike & Tony were both knowledgeable, accommodating and fair with the pricing. It was the easiest part of my day! I would definitely return in the future. Thank you!

Awesome guys! From the onset, professional, wise advice! Trustworthy! Great guys, fun to talk to and very helpful. We were in a bit of a jam after being in a car crash during our trip from Pennsylvania to Maine. They got us in right away, provided us with some wise advice and a couple of quick fix solutions that helped us finish our trip. Amazing dudes that the Fairfield area is lucky to have in town. This is the first time I leave a review on google and for a good reason. This garage is the aboslute best garage I have ever been too. Mike and Bob are super professional, always on time, always give you the right advice, and never once did they try to take advantage of me. You can clearly see that they love what they do and that they are not in it for the money. I love this place and would recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy garage, which is not always easy to find.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

The owner is one of the coolest and most down-to-earth people Ive ever met. He won t screw you over. Great attitude and sense of humor, and that can be said for the entire staff, just a really great culture and atmosphere, and people who truly enjoy what they do. He was friendly with everyone, cracking jokes and otherwise just being a great guy.I had a cylinder misfire taking a trailer back up from NC, and had to come back down in two days for Christmas with my parents. They took no time diagnosing the issue(s), and did everything they could to get me back on the road in time for Christmas. He didn t charge an arm and leg either, just did what they thought prudent to get me on my way. I can t thank them enough, I would come to them every chance I could If I wasn t moving.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I really trust this shop and have been coming here on and off for many years. Bob , who manages, is consistently never without a smile, has been here for 23 years, and recently took care of my car with an oil change, tire rotation, fixed a rattle underneath driver's side which turned out to be a loose clamp-- got me in shortly after I called at a time good for me. I left and the AC had warmish air that I had forgotten to mention and when I called back he said come right back in and we'll take a look at it. Turns out I had only a small amount of refrigerant left and so my AC was serviced on the spot and a dye was put in to help locate any possibility of a leak which we will check on in the next month. I'm very satisfied with the service which Bob and Mike oversee, the staff, the convenience, and the very fair pricing which is explained right up front. I would definitely recommend them!

Once again Penfield came through for us. We wanted them to try to fix our Range Rover but Bob advised us to sell and it was just the right time. We received an outstanding trade-in value for it. We ve trusted Penfield with our cars for over 20 years. They kept our Acura running for over 200,000 miles- until it was not worth fixing. But they properly advised us to sell two our cars before we invested too much money into them. Bob and Mike are so knowledgeable. These guys are awesome. I called in on a Saturday with worries about leaking oil due to a mishap from one of those quick stop oil change locations, and feared having to leave my car over the weekend. Upon arrival they put my car on the lift immediately and resolved the issue in what felt like 5 minutes. In my 10 years of being a vehicle owner, I have never had an easier/quicker experience than I did with this location. Thank you for being high quality and excellent value!! Going here from now on!!

My daughter is a college student at Sacred Heart U. She called me and said her car would not start. She was able to jump it and called Mike at Penfield. He told her to brig it right over. Within 20 minutes diagnosed it was the battery and had her back on the road. Fair price and very friendly. Any student or local family should use his service center. I've used these guys multiple time's now while working as a travel contractor in the N.E. Dependable, excellent service. Bobby and Mike always take care of me and I leave with confidence knowing my vehicle is safe to drive. Just wish I could take them with me where ever I go! Yall do great work! I had an emergency this morning and needed a mechanic pronto! I called up Penfield and spoke to Mike. He told me to come in straight away! I had recently gotten my fuel filter changed and had a leak for some reason. On top of that I was on my way to work! They took my car into the shop within 5 mins of me being there. I was in and out within 30 mins. The staff are very professional and very welcoming. I was able to get the situation fixed in no time and be on my way. These guys were awesome! I went to 3 different places to get an estimate/diagnostics on an issue with my radio and didn't feel comfortable with what any of them had to say. As a last stitch effort I walked into this shop and was greeted by Bob. He took a look at my car right then and there and was able to problem solve the situation on the spot. My car was fixed in 10 minutes and he saved me hundreds of dollars! I am always looking for a mechanic I can trust around town and now I have definitely found one. Thanks again guys!!

Bob the owner & Mike are really great guys. They are very patient and friendly with me when I ask questions about parts or repairs. They are very honest about what repairs are needed & when they are needed. Please understand that this is one of the highest-rated service centers in Fairfield, and they back up their work with a warranty. You won t get a warranty if you pay your buddy to do work on your car in his backyard. Bob and Mike, if you re reading this, thank you for your good work. You are appreciated!

Bob and the crew at Penfield just saved us a ton of money. We were about to buy a used car. It had a good number of miles and a few reported issues, but we asked if could have checked out. I get in touch with Bob and he told us to have it brought by. A crew member took it for a drive and reported a shake. We probably would have noticed that, but Bob quickly pointed out an oil leak and a number of other problems that would require costly repairs. He recommended we only buy it at a much lower price since we would have to spend so much to have to fixed. We decided against it and were so glad Bob and the pros at Penfield had saved us so much money and so many headaches. We highly recommend Bob and his team for your repairs!!

I brought in my 2015 Nissan Altima for some maintenance a few weeks ago - brake fluid (at the dealership's recommendation) and an oil change. First of all, Mike is the man. Very friendly and willing to answer questions and give advice. Second, he actually helped me avoid unnecessary service., as he informed me that the brake fluid was not dirty enough to really need changing. Instead, he recommended I replace my battery, which I was considering anyway, as it was 5 years old.Pricing was solid to me. They beat my dealership on the brake fluid estimate, and they beat Valvoline on the price of my oil change. More importantly, I'm happy with the work that was done.Add to that the experience of "having a conversation about servicing your car" VS "being pressured by a salesman regarding services for your car", and I'm sold.In addition they stand by their work, as Mike told me I could bring my car back for free in the battery should malfunction or need a deep charge. I'll be bringing my car to Penfield for as long as I'm living in the area.Thanks again to Mike and the Penfield crew.

I was visiting family in Fairfield from Boston when my car started making a weird noise. I tried going to a few places (which is understandably tough on a Saturday) and Penfield took me right away. The team was knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. They quickly diagnosed my issue and made a trustworthy recommendation. Wish I lived closer to this shop since it was such a good experience! Would recommend without hesitation.

I'm very surprised by the high ratings of this place. I had a relatively new Corolla and, after about 20,000 miles, I decided that I should find a local garage to take it to, instead of the dealership, for my regular checkups. So I took it to Penfield and I remember being surprised at how much it cost the first time I went. I did go, again, though, and it cost a lot more than the dealer the second time. Finally, one day my check-engine light went on, and I took it back to Penfield. The car had about 35,000-40,000 miles on it. They told me that a small part was shot (I can't remember what it was, but I know that they normally don't get replaced until much later in the car's life) and, since it's better to replace both at the same time, my estimate was about $1200. Of course, I was in shock, but they were very dismissive on my concerns. So I took it back to the dealership (Colonial, Milford), who told me that there was nothing wrong with that part and that it must have been something weird with the check-engine light (which was no longer on). In the end, I didn't have to replace those parts until around 80,000 miles. At any rate, after that experience, I put Penfield in my rear-view mirror.

They were quick to help and super informative. I brought my car in to check on something hanging from the bottom and they quickly fixed it and didn't even charge me since it was such a quick fix. My 2016 LR4 s AC needed a recharge and uses R1234YF which is extremely difficult to find outside of dealerships. These guys had the machine (which most places don t as they re expensive) and diagnosed/ fixed my issue that morning. These guys are super friendly, honest and a great team of professionals. I highly recommend bringing your vehicle for all your auto issues. Never going to a dealership to fix my car again. Thank you Penfield Service Center!Service: Air conditioning

These 1star postings are either for another Penfield auto service in New York or those people are complete a-holes.. We have been a customer for 15 years with three cars in our family and I wouldn't trust our cars with ANY other place than Penfield. They are honest (a rare quality), do not overcharge, and have incredible customer service (they even have free coffee while you wait). They won't try to sell you on something you don't need. Bob and Mike are the best. I actually look forward to getting my oil changed because they are so entertaining! This business is the poster-child for what a small business used to be and thankfully they are still here!

This shop rocks! Without an appointment, i asked them to inspect the undercarriage. They threw my van up on the lift quickly, diagnosed a small problem, and literally fixed it for free. Definitely using them whenever I need repairs. Super honest, friendly, and fair!

I had tires put on my car at Firestone and the car didnt feel right to me. I brought it Penfield Service and they discovered one bent rim and the rear alignment was off. Even though the alignment was a few dollars more at Penfield they were able to get me a used GREAT looking rim for nearly half the price. They completed the alignment correctly and now I feel safe on the road! They took me through the all the steps and made me comfortable about spending money on a good repair. It all balanced within my budget in the end. KUDOS gentlemen you are TRUE professionals!

I had a Saturday weekend emergency situation with a failing water pump. Bob went out of his way to help me out and to finish the job on that same Saturday. He drove me to work in the morning when I dropped off my car and was reassuring that all will go well. I always know that their work is trustworthy and timely and that I can count on Bob and the Team at Penfield Service Center.Thank you for taking such great care of me.

My fiance was given a quote over the phone for rear brakes and rotors on two separate occasions. When the job was completed we were informed that only the brake pads were done. When we explained that we were told on two different occasions the rotors and pads were expected to be replaced Robert became defensive and instead of explaining to us the cost of pads and rotors he threatened that he would put the old pads back on and that we can go somewhere else. It was completely unprofessional the way he spoke and I personally would suggest that anyone else with car issues go to another mechanic.I had to give one star for this review because giving 0 stars wasn't an option
