I don't write reviews, but I'm taking time to write this one. Look no further if you care about honesty, fairness, and the best automotive technical skill. Fairfield was the only place I trusted with my needy cars for several years when I lived in the area, and I haven't found a place like them yet. Go here.

Very disappointed with their services. My car is in worse condition then when I first brought it in, and they charged me for parts I didn t need.

With a 1986 MB 560 SL coming out of storage after 3 years it is tough to find somebody who knows what they are doing. These guys were great. Did a fantastic job going over the engine, transmission, brakes and steering systems, locating and fixing leaks; identifying what should be done, what could be done, and doing it - while working with me to keep the repair costs down. Highly recommended.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Steering & suspension replacement, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair

After a few years of looking for a trustworthy and reliable mechanic in my area I think I've finally found the place. Everyone at Fairfield Motorworks was straight forward, knowledgeable, and strategic when addressing a few repairs I needed to get done on my vehicle. From the start, Chris and Drew were extremely welcoming and gave me sound advice and recommendations on what needed to be fixed first, and were communicative throughout the whole process. After driving my car around for a while following the maintenance, I can tell their team knows what they're doing. The quality and honesty here is key, and I will be a returning customer moving forward.Services: Transmission, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Thanks Fairfield Motoworks LLC for a job well done. We live in the DC area but you came highly recommended by a family friend in CT so our vehicle was delivered to you. Our 1990 Mercedes needed attention and you stepped up to the plate and provided it. You have cared for our vehicle as if we were a local resident. Your high professionalism and quality work was appreciated. Thanks.

Avoid the dealer and go straight to this place. They provide amazing service at a fraction of the cost. Honest and prompt. They even pick up your automobile in your driveway. Ask for Chris or Drew. I have nothing but high praises for this business.

This place is top shelf! They have been servicing all my vehicles for years now. My main work truck suffer a major repair. They took it in and had it back in action the next day where others would have taken days to a week. There is no other shop for me and my company. From large Diesel truck repairs to antique cars they know their stuff. Thanks as always gentlemen!Joseph TheriaultJ&M Construction & SonFairfield

I really liked the folks there, and the owner was clearly very enthusiastic about cars. I suspect that they are more accustomed to modern day cars that use scanners and high tech tools to diagnose and repair, but their knowledge of old school drivetrains was impressive as well.. They might very well do as good a job for you if you have a 21st century BMW or 1980's Mercedes diesel

I would avoid... brought my truck their to deal with bad grounds and to clear a light and change the oil when I picked it up the only thing done was the code cleared the part they said was bad looked at it and appeared to be the same part that was in their. Was not new and shop could not produce the broken part which every shop will save to vehicle is picked and when I picked the truck up one of the negative terminals that was first on the list to fix Was hanging off the battery luckily I popped the hood. And saw before any More damage had accrued when tried to talk to them they didn't want to hear it and wouldn't do anything about it.. The part that was replaced was said by them to be $ 300. But after talking to Napa. Autozone and anywhere else I looked and used the same part number as in paper work and the part was $ 78. Every where. It ended up costing $600. Tried getting ahold of the owner since I knew him and also knew he was or atleast used to be a great mechanic but I guess alots. Changed.. When I finally talked to the owner Chris a week atleast maybe more later , he was very disrespectful rude and far from being a proper owner I was completely shocked ... So finally was able to get the truck into a respected diesel performance shop AND the issue was the bad grounds the whole time 1st thing on the list of what could caused that code and first on my list to ff motor works to fix and agreed that part looks like it was never replaced and confirmed the price of the sensor being 80 bucks not $300 also they where somewhat puzzled how they could of figure out what's really wrong with an electrical part with a bad ground. So basically Fairfield motor works charged me $600. To put a 78$ part in that takes 20 mins and unplug. My chip and blame it on that. After getting it to a real shop it was just the grounds to the battery. I asked Chris the owner of ff motor works if this is something they could handle. Before even bringing down he said not a problem and knowing his past work years and years ago is the Only reason. It went their and was obviously a mistake no more than an hr of work had it for 2 days with 3 simple things to do fix batt. Terminals then code then oil. Couldn't even handle something so simple their was a time when he was an awesome mechanic and shop but this shows times have obviously changed hopefully others don't have to go through what I had to dealing with these guys. Their are much better shops and people who will treat you right and do the job right the first time dont make the mistake I did

Truly outstanding experience!!! My daughter attends college in Fairfield and I needed to find a local mechanic to service her car. Difficult process when you live out-of-state. From the first phone call to set the appointment to the final repair & bill, I knew I found the right place.

To Drew and Chris with regards to my service for the 2006 Infiniti this past week. First off, I tried to find a different way of sending this message without effecting your quality review but this appears to be the only way I can do so. I ask for your professional response with regards to my concerns. I have used your services several times over the course of the past 2-3 years and my Father and I always respect your thoughts and possible future concerns with any auto issues he and I have had. This past Monday, 2/24, I had my Infiniti towed to your lot and I was fortunate enough to bump into Chris there as he was picking up his daughter at the martial arts studio across the street from your lot. The AAA driver, my Father and myself explained to Chris that the reason I was sending it to your lot was due to the fact that my alternator failed again, which was the 3rd time since I bought the vehicle in September from Wiz Auto. As a result of that conversation, Chris agreed with all of us that it was the alternator again that failed. Drew spoke with me the next morning/afternoon and suggested that I call Wiz and ask if the alternator was still under warranty. I called back Wednesday afternoon and explained to Drew that Wiz will hold accountability for said alternator. I told Drew that I would have the car picked up either later that day from AAA, or no later than Thursday, 2/27. My dates may be off by a day but that was where we stood. The idea was to have the car towed to WIZ and have them replace the said alternator again under warranty. When I arrived on Friday, 2/28 to have the Infiniti towed to Wiz, I was told the car could not leave the lot until I paid a $235.00 bill that was apparently for services that were performed to tell me that I need a new alternator which we all knew allready. At NO time, were there ever any communications giving Fairfield Motoworks the go ahead on any services to any of our knowledges. I paid the bill with the fear that my car could not be towed to Wiz until I paid for said services. On the receipt, the Service Description states "Battery will not hold charge, Alternator not charging...recommend to bring back to Wiz." Why was I charged this? Everybody knew it was the alternator. Not only that, but you didn't explain why the alternator was failing. You guys have always been respectful and professional to this point. I'm having a real hard time accepting being billed for something we all knew allready and no one was ever told you would be providing any services without my autorization. - Chris.
