Since you inquired about specifics. 3 days before Christmas 2022, you dropped my dad s 4Runner off of your tow truck in the center of Somers. It rolled into traffic, hit a telephone pole, and was totaled. Driver never called the police or finished taking the car to its intended destination. Rather, it was stolen & taken back to your shop, having never contacted my father about his property. We contacted the police ourselves & dealt with your rude owner. Posting this on behalf of my father. Will be more specific with the review on yelp.**Also to alert anyone looking, that you can call AAA and have this specific company banned from your account.

Yesterday we needed a tow due to an alignment issue with my truck. The young man who came to tow my truck was very kind and informative. Definitely did a great job of easing my mind on the process. He brought my truck and I to the shop of my choice, and offered to stay until my ride home arrived (for safety). I declined, but appreciated. All in all it was a great experience, considering the circumstances. He did a great job diagnosing the problem on the fly. I would definitely recommend this shop for any repairs and towing servicesService: Car towing

There was a nice man who was driving the wrecker to bring my car to Route 83 after my son had an accident with it. No one was hurt, thank God. The car was totaled and we called Diane a few times each time she was so professional, friendly and nice. We also went one day to clean out the car to get our belongings. Another man driving a wrecker was professional, friendly and very helpful! I had to call Diane back and tell her everyone we came into contact with from Route 83 Auto, everyone is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend them with such wonderful customer service!! Keep up the great job! I hope it becomes catchy!! Stay safe!Service: Car towing

I stopped in at half a dozen different repair shops looking for an emergency assist for my brakes, as I had broken a small section of line and lost all my brake fluid and didn't have the tool to flare and bend a new section of line.. Every single one of them couldn't be bothered to help me out, until I stopped in here. The gentleman inside cut me a small section of line and flared and bent it for me without any hesitation, and without charging me a thing for it. Faith in humanity restored today thanks to this shop. Thank You again! Literal Life Savers.. I'll definitely be bringing my business back here.

We had car trouble while driving home from vacation. We were about 5 hours away. We were towed by a AAA service. The young man that helped us (Jason) checked with the garage he worked from to see if our car could be fixed that day. Route 83 Auto squeezed us in, and charged a very reasonable price. We were able to get back on the road the same day, They were helpful and friendly. If I were from that area, I would definitely use them.Service: Car towing

From the very start, Tony, along with the entire staff at Route 83 Auto Center were very personable and provided great service. They guided me through a couple of car options until I decided on my blue Honda Civic.. to which I have fallen in love with! The car was ready 3 days earlier than they said and looked beautiful. Tony has a wonderful style and I never felt pressured to make an offer. I highly recommend Route 83 Auto and look forward to working with them again in the future!! Thank you!!

They had what I was looking, and helped me get into it. Tony was friendly even took my old car in trade. I found the whole experience very stress free, and I love my new SUV. I Highly recommend getting your next vehicle from them . The whole staff were great ! They also took care of registering car at motor vehicle dept. It was great not having to wait in those lines. Ask for Tony he was great!!? Tell him Deano sent you.

I brought my car to Route 83 Auto because oil was leaking onto my garage floor. They diagnosed the problem as a leaking valve cover gasket, rear cam seal and oil pan gasket. In addition, the engine would have to be degreased. I then called another auto repair shop. The mechanic, Rob, asked me questions about my car and, based on my answers, told me that he would recommend only the replacement of the valve cover gasket and engine degreasing at this point because that usually solved the leak problem. It did! Not one drop of oil since. In addition, I was charged $126 by Route 83 Auto for this "diagnosis", which Rob did over the phone at no charge. So my advice is to get several opinions on work and cost. Route 83 Auto wanted to charge me a total of $820 for diagnostics and work that I didn't need to have done. My oil leak problem was solved for only $182!

Brought my car in to have tires balanced and installed on rims. Very friendly people and a reasonable cost. Had to return a few days later because of a problem with the wheel balancing. They corrected the issue, replaced two faulty TPMS gauges, and did an oil change. Again, very reasonable cost & friendly service. However, there were 45 miles put on my car between time I dropped it off and when I picked it up. While I appreciate a thorough road test, 45 miles seems excessive. I called to better understand the reasoning, but was told that that was just what it took. Not sure I believe that a one hour test drive for a few weights on a rim is reasonable. I don't think I'll be back.

Taking your car to a shop can be an unpleasant experience due to so many unknowns. I have to say that Route 83 was far from that typical auto repair experience so many of us fear. They were extremely professional, fast and communicated well. In addition, their prices were reasonable. The best part is that Route 83 believed part of the issue with the car was still covered under our power train warranty. Route 83 called the dealer for us, explained the situation and then drove the car to the dealer so my wife didn't have to take the three kids out and I didn't have to miss work...that is service that you don't find often these days in any industry. Hopefully it's a while before we need a mechanic, but when we do, Route 83 will be our choice!

I've been with 83 Auto Center for over 10 years, now, and have always been extremely satisfied with the repairs and the respective costs. My last accident damaged the 2 pax side doors on my Civic. I went to 3 repair shops for estimates and ended up with 83 Auto who not only saved me the most money but included 2 new doors in the process. Their personnel are always friendly, courteous and know the definition of excellent S-E-R-V-I-C-E! They know me by my first name and always offer to drive me to or from the center, if I'm having difficulties getting to the Center. I highly recommend the 83 Auto Center for car repairs and/or wanting to purchase a reliable used car.

My experience was very unpleasant with these guys. They were very nice people don't get me wrong but I'd never bring my camry back here.. Went in to get my valve stem seals replaced and had the timing chain done at the same time around June 2016. I chose them based on their goods reviews. First off it took them like 2 weeks then upon picking up the car I was leaking so much oil I have a massive stain on my new driveway. I was leaking up to a quart every 2 weeks or less after I got the car back. I must have brought it back 3 times complaining about the leaking fluids but the owner or his mechanic Keith told me they didn't see any leaking. I specifically asked them prior to the job if they thought they could handle it, I was told "absolutely we feel comfortable, we do everything"... Well 2k$ down the drain. After the 3rd time bringing it there I was fed up, brought it to state line in Enfield and for another 1500$ I got it repaired correctly.. The owner at my Enfield shop told me gaskets were either reused or missing. The timing chain housing gasket wasn't seated nor sealed correctly.. If you're getting simple repairs, brakes, oil change, battery swap and can't do that yourself, go with them but I highly recommend taking your car elsewhere for major repairs. All in all I spent 3500 on the same repair when I could've got it done right the first time at the dealer for less....

I brought my car to this garage when my brother highly recommended them. My first impression of the garage was very positive, as the staff were very friendly, and welcoming. At the time my car was dealing with pulling strong to the left, idle/throttle issues, the check engine light was on, and my car would aggressively veer in either direction when applying the brakes. The owner, Kevin, and his staff came off as very understanding and informative. I was told the problem with my idle/throttle issue was coming from my crankshaft position sensor (confirmed by the check engine code) and my car's pulling and braking problem was caused by my rear passenger wheel. So, feeling confident, I turned over my keys and left them to it.When the call came to pick up my car, I was told they had just taken it for a drive and everything is running as it should. After paying for the parts and work, I took the car and the problems began. I had gotten approximately 2 miles down the road and my oil light began to turn on and off. I brought the car back, informed them of the new issue, and was told the car wasn't doing that when they test drove it. I was told my oil pressure sensor went out and the cause was oil that had some how gotten into the plug; add that to my cost. A few hours later, I was back on the road and on the highway, where, to my surprise, the car was pulling strong to the left, but due to the delay from the pressure sensor, I was already late for work. The following day, my car began to rough idle and the check engine came back on. So, I called the garage and expressed my disappointed, only to be told that Kevin claimed not to have been previously made aware of my idle/throttle problems. I rescheduled with the garage. Prior to my appointment, I brought my car to Autozone to have my code checked and, as I expected, my Crankshaft Position Sensor was the issue. Of course I was irritated with the situation, but at the time of my appointment, I made it a point to be respectful and calm. The lady at the desk was very polite as usual, until I handed her the code form from auto zone. She went from sweet to visibly irritated and short when speaking. After explaining to her my displeasure with almost nothing I had reported being fixed, she went and got Kevin. Kevin, also visibly irritated, handed the autozone form back to me and told me. "Go, have a nice day." Of course, I was upset by the attitude and asked for an explanation. Kevin proceeded to raise his voice and replied, "If you want to take the car to Ford, then take it to ford. I'm not playing these games with you." I will admit that I allowed his dismissive and disrespectful attitude to get under my skin and raised my voice as well. The conversation devolved into a short argument between the two of us ending with him refusing to refund me what I paid. What blows my mind about this situation is less about the money and more about the owner. The fact that someone has no problem with disrespecting their customers, displaying a complete lack of professionalism, and in front of their employees is something to really wrap my head about. I can only image how he treats his employees. In the end, my entire time with this garage has not only cost me around $752.14, along with an exchange with a company's owner that no customer should ever experience, but I still have idle / throttle issues, my check engine light is still on, and my car still pulls to the left. On a positive note, at least my braking issue was resolved.

Lisa & Kevin have serviced our autos for many years and always do a quality job and you can count on them sticking with their estimates. Of course when you take your vehicle in for an oil change, they give the car a thorough checkup and point out any issues that might need work for which they always have an cost estimate ready. Kevin will always give you the straight scoop as to how serious an identified issue is and when the issue should be resolved. Here's the key item for us....TRUST. 83 Auto is ALWAYS fair about their estimates and we NEVER worry about whether we are being overcharged or if identified issues are legitimate or not. If Kevin and his crew recommend a service, you can count on it being the right thing to do. They are very serious about respect and looking out for you and your vehicle. Trust is not something that comes easy for us as we've had our share of problems with other auto repair organizations.Lisa, Kevin and crew are simply the best and we will go nowhere else as long they are operating 83 Auto!

Had to have my car towed today. They were prompt, friendly and professional. They volunteered to look at my car, explained what was happening and even accommodated my dog in the tow truck. Clearly having your car break down is not how you would choose to spend an afternoon, but I would use route 83 again in a heartbeat!
