I have multiple plow purchases/ installs done here and am very satisfied. Rodney and his team take the time to explain all your options and pick the best fit for you. Turn around time is very fast and quality is second to none!

Called and asked for a quote for a tune up and was told that tune ups weren't done on cars anymore because maintenance is done as needed. Was also told that they don't give out quotes over the phone. My vehicle was having ignition issues. Insisted I do a diagnostic, which I was not interested in and willing to deal with the results. Got a quote for 4 spark plugs and 4 ignition coils plus labor. Now I'm fully aware that some cars have spark plugs in funky areas which require additional labor. The quote was one thousand dollars. Either they found my request for a quote off putting and gave me a high dollar quote to scare me away or they were simply trying to take advantage. I called around and no one was even close to that. No one was rude when I called and no arguments. Everyone is entitled to set their price however they want. So take my experience at face value and make your own opinion. Just sharing my experience, which I would consider a bit disingenuous.

I'm definitely new to plows, I went to a few places then ended up at Cromwell automotive. Thank God! These guys were awesome! Very knowledgeable, they were able to get a plow on in 1 day! Everywhere else was 3 to 4 weeks! I'm grateful for these guys. When I showed up and picked the truck up Rodney made sure somone went out with me and showed me how everything works then they watched me go over the same steps just to make sure I was confident with my new equipment.you

Just wanted to make Veterans and people with disabilities who have a service dogs aware of a Cromwell Automotive This business is not veteran or ADA friendly.I attempted to have my emissions done there and they refused due to my service dog. They claimed that they were told by the CT department of motor vehicles in an email that service dogs were not allowed in the building during emissions testing. I brought the dog outside but the owner then came out and informed me they would not run the test and I had to "get off the property" when I tried to talk to him about it he threatened to call the police. I contacted the CT emissions program and they said they never sent out an email to any business about service dogs, and that they don't know why I was told that.

They went above and beyond when installing my plow, even running my safety flashing light wire into the cab of my truck. Then fix the control box onto of the fisher box. So professional, I cannot recommend enough.

I walked into Cromwell Automotive with no appointment...for emissions testing. They couldn't have been nicer, and performed the test in a very short time while I waited. What impressed me about this business was its cleanliness, which is very often lacking in an automotive setting. This extended to the outside space as well. And for the short time I waited, I also watched as they interacted with customers....very precise and polite. From everything I observed, this a business that serves its customers very well.Service: Auto emissions testing

I went for emissions. I waited until the last day to do emissions and was freaking out about where to go and how fast it would be. I called Cromwell auto and they said I can come on whenever but recommended that i make an appt so I did. I came in and they were very friendly and started working on my emissions test right away. I was in and out within 10 min. Waiting area was clean and organized. And all employees i interacted with were very polite and friendly. Great service.

This place is worth the price. Their level of organization and clarity is something I've never really encountered before. They also applied coupons when I didn't bring one forward, which is a rarity in an industry like this.They clearly want repeat customers and put in the value and effort to show it. They have great reviews and reliability with a fair cost for the prices given.It's always nice to see a location that works to make their labor, tasks, and costs as clear as possible. Left a voicemail to schedule an oil change after hours and they called back to schedule with me the next morning. (Responsive and follow through was the first good sign) I was able to drop my car off early and received a call when they were done. Not only had they completed the oil change but they tested breaks etc and gave me updates to future maintenance. They did not push any additional services and were very fair priced. Being new to the area I have been looking for a trustworthy car shop and am happy to have found them!Service: Oil change

Worst experience ever. Went for emissions.. had a bill that had a tear.. wouldn't exempt my last dollar.. wouldn't except 4 quarters.. turned me away.. I have 3 other vehicles this one needed the emissions. The other needs 3 cats replaced and evap sensor in fuel tank replaced GMC Acadia.. then my 2011 bmw needs work.. they will not be getting any of that buisness... would not recommend the old Grey haired guy is just petty.. lost $1000s in work over a simple dollar bill.. great job guys.. money out of you pocket of a dumb buisness man in charge

These guys are awesome. My only salt spreader went down today mid snow storm, Rodney felt bad for my situation so he agreed to stay late/after hours with his guys to get my salt spreader fixed. They were able to get me back up and running within the hour, and I was able to get back to work taking care of my clients. He may have just saved my business today. I can t thank him and his guys enough. Service: Auto maintenance

Came in for an emissions test saw that there was a bunch of people and said oh I'll just make an appointment for 12:30and I'll come back. Great. Come back at 12:30 and they say my battery is too dead to complete the test. OK. OKI will just go get another one and come right back. At which point they tell me that oh sorry we don't have enough time to get you done today you'll have to come back another time lame service. Waste of time. 2 stars cause the kid was nice.Edit: I went immediately to another place they completed the test with no problems whatsoever.

Great place. Treated me well. Got a used plow put on my truck for a very fair price. My only wish is if it were closer to my home(40 minutes) but there no place like it near me.Ill be back.

Front desk woman is terrible. My husband called to get a price on their services and she hung up on him TWICE. I called her from my phone and then she said the car has to be seen first. That is not a problem at all but hanging up on someone is a terrible way to communicate that. Will never give them any of my business.

Bought a used Boss plow from them, Chris was very courteous and helpful. It did have a couple issues but they made the necessary repairs quickly! All in all good shop. Highly recommend

Purchased a 2008 Jeep wrangler in November 2019. The fourth day I had the car the brake hose broke while I was on the highway and the front right blinker didn't work. Then a short few months later the catalytic converters went bad, and now the bottom end piston bearings are bad. They said the Jeep was in perfect "like new" condition, but 14 months later with it only being driven for maybe 9 months because of quarantine, I could have completely paid off the car (a 5 year loan) with the money i've had to spend to fix it. They also wouldn't let us bring it to our mechanic to get it checked out before I purchased. As the very first car I've purchased I am very disappointed. I understand wear and tear happens, but I feel like I was sold a car that wasn't fairly priced with all of the things that have gone wrong with it that were issues that had to build up over time. Especially when the brake hose broke and after they fixed it they said they checked over everything, yet the blinker still wasn't fixed and not even two months later all four catalytic converters were bad.

We had a great experience with Cromwell Automotive. Andre installed a new Fisher plow for us and finished it in 1 day, when we were quoted 3-4. Good quality work in a timely manner for a fair price.

I am currently in the process of trying to buy a plow at the beginning of the season. Rodney is being extremely accommodating and expediting the process to suit my needs. This is my first experience trying to do this and it has been phenomenal. I will do a follow up review once purchased, but I have nothing but good things to say about this establishment so far.

Went for Emission testing , everyone very nice, I had asked to check tire pressure and they did. Very clean place and even had coffee for customers. A great place to have automotive work done on car, they are very honest people.

Bought a car from them with zero issues. Andre was helpful and respectful during our communication. Nice location and easy to get to from Rt. 9 or I-91. Hours make it hard for anyone working a 9-5 to make it in during the week, but that might just be a "me" problem.

I went to Cromwell Automotive for an Emissions Test, it was a great experience! I didn t need an appointment, I was in and out in less then 20-minutes. The staff was very friendly, professional and courteous. I would highly recommend Cromwell Automotive.

Cromwell auto is a very great family run business with great automotive techs and the fast, reliable and affordable work coming from this great shop is the reason for me to always come back. as well I truly appreciate how well you do of getting me in and out as quick as possible
