Steve is the best! He guided us in picking the nicest wheels and tires that would suit my car when my first choice wasn't appropriate. He and his crew are knowledgeable and professional! I highly recommend this local business!

Highly HIGHLY recommend. Incredibly professional, great communication, meticulous attention to detail Thank God for Four Wheel Drive Performance! I started off with a Bronco which required full installation of a performance engine/transmission/fuel and cooling system and complex wiring for new fuel management and transmission controller. I had given up on doing this work myself, and began searching for a shop to complete this passion project of mine. I corresponded with over a dozen shops in CT and Mass that resulted in flaky communication at best. I was often told a timeframe to accept this project and then was ghosted. I was told this project wasn t worth the time or money. I was told no one would want to work on it. Short of selling this thing for parts, I tried one last time and called Four Wheel Drive Performance where I met Steve and Ed. They were honest about the level of difficulty, and were upfront about the potential cost and the timeframe of completion. During the two weeks my Bronco was in their shop, they worked diligently and maintained consistent communication throughout the entire process. They explained the purpose of the parts they needed and the importance of the quality in them, maintaining high level of investment in a vehicle they were working on. They sent me daily texts, phone calls, pictures, and videos of their progress and ensured they included me in all the decisions about my truck. This hard work aside, they expressed a deep passion and excitement in being a critical part of this build. They invited me to come see how far they were getting on a daily basis. In sum, if you expect that a shop will be honest, professional, invested, knowledgeable, and communicative about the work they are doing, they will exceed this standard for you.

Steve was excellent! Very professional & thorough in adding an engine oil cooler to my Ford Explorer. Not only did he do great work but he also alerted me to a problem unrelated to his task which potentially could have derailed our trip. I highly recommend this business. You won t be disappointed!

Best guys around, my car had its challenges and these guys worked it all out . Pretty much rebuilt my whole car from suspension to motor and trans . Everything I own goes to them. Guy doesn t know what he s talking about. Told me I needed a 4 inch lift kit so my tires wouldn t rub. Had a leveling kit installed. No rub. Saved a bunch of money. Would have been nice if he could return a phone call too.

Steve is an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable guy. He helped me through the process of putting a 2" lift on my vehicle. When he couldn't find the lift blocks that would work he contacted Dan at Super Spring and Brake Company who is also another very knowledgeable and helpful person to get me the parts I needed. Then when I needed new shocks to fit the new configuration Steve found and got the shocks for me that had the right specifications within a day! When I found out I needed 2 new longer rubber brake lines Steve pointed me to a local business that built them for me while I waited at the counter.Without Steve's help I would not have been able to get the job done. I wish every business I dealt with had such great customer service!!! Thank you Steve.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

AWESOME. Steve + Ed are everything you want in a mechanic: fair, knowledgeable, HONEST and they actually LISTEN. they keep you informed on what is going on and won't proceed without your say-so. they're so well respected in the industry, they have numerous contacts in the area and come *heavily recommended by other shops and are regarded as the BEST 4WD shop in the state! Steve + Ed care about your vehicle and meticulously go through everything, leaving you 100% satisfied with their work. they attack the toughest jobs like body mounts, 4WD systems and leaks that seemingly never go away. between these 2 guys, there's nothing they can't diagnose, replace or FIX. i've never brought my 70' F100 pickup to anybody else and i never will. god bless you guys! no guys more pleasant to deal with..

As a business owner in Glastonbury for 30 years, I appreciate when an owner goes the extra mile for their customers.I was referred to Steve s business 4 wheel drive performance for an undecarriage film coat to protect my new Jeep from the harsh chemicals Ct now uses for snow and ice.From the first phone call, I could tell this wasn t just another truck shop. Steve listened to my concerns and immediately addressed each one completely.I dropped my Jeep off at 7:45am and asked if extra care could be taken to keep the spray off the body and rims. Steve put me at ease and told me he would completely cover the Jeep with a thin automotive plastic. I felt heard and supported. Which I might add, is hard to find with any business these days. Then I asked, if he could complete the job by 3pm. Amazingly enough, Steve called me at 2:59 and said the Jeep was set and that it came out great.When I arrived to pick up my Jeep, it was parked outside and ready to go. I inspected the work and it was perfect. I am highly detailed and couldn t find any error or over spray. Not to mention it looked incredible. Like new underneath. I feel confident the film will work as Steve said. Plus his fees are super fair. He is a very honest person, it s just him.I would recommend this business and Steve without hesitation. Just a super down to earth natural businessman that has mastered his territory. 5 stars isn t enough. I should've done this back in 2010 but be very careful when you purchase a vehicle from this place. My wife and I bought a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire from this guy and had major problems with it.As soon as we bought it we started hearing stuff, so we took to it to Pep Boys for a full Diagnostic. The mechanics came up to my wife and i and they explained to us this guy cheated you. We had it for only two days, the mechanic at Pep Boys said go and get your money back, the "mechanic/owner" to this place said all sales are final and you should've had someone look over it before buying the car.We were stuck with it and we spent over 1,000 dollars to fix the car. I have to say one thing that I should've fixed first were the axles. Well long story short, another 2 week's with the vehicle and the cars axels fall off when I was going to work in Windsor Locks. I almost lost my life because of the vehicle he sold me.Police Officer in Windsor Locks told me to take pictures of the parts on the road and head to DMV and report the buisness. I did and see their still open, so I decided to share my experience and hopefully negate someone from making the bad choice I made when I was 20 years old.

As the proud owner of that orange Mach 1, have to tell you it started out sluggish at best. Steve and Ed did an INCREDIBLE job turning it from Mild to Wild. With the same motor and their skills, I can now burn the tires right off it at will. I can't tell you how appreciative and happy I am! See you next time!
