We recently bought a car at Desmond s and will try to only buy our used cars from here in the future! I had been in the market for this specific used car for a few months the car they listed was in fantastic shape and the price was already so reasonable that we didn t even try to negotiate. Mike was a breath of fresh air to work with the whole process was straight-forward with none of the pressure or games I have become accustomed to when buying from a large dealer. Mike obviously takes care with the used cars he sells very easy to trust his work and word, as evidenced by the local loyal customers that came in and out of the shop while we were there, as well as the clean inspection the car got after we brought it home. Thank you to Mike and his dad for making this experience so pleasant and easy!

I recently bought a car at Desmonds and it was a great experience. There wasn t any of the typical dealer pressure and we had no problems coming to an agreement on price. I worked with Mike and he made sure all the paperwork ran smooth and did so much of the annoying foot work of registering and insuring a new car for me. Just got the car inspected in MA and everything is great!

Came in for my emissions testing; they were quick and knowledgeable. Very friendly staff, definitely a small town shop, well liked by their patrons. 10/10 recommend.

This was my first time ever doing an emissions test so I didn t know what to expect. I walked in roughly 20 mins after they opened on a Monday and was greeted with a smile by Bill. He completed my test within 15 mins and I was on my way! I did not get the name of the other gentleman that was at the desk but he was very personable and friendly as well! Highly recommend this place!

I live in the area and stopped in to find a reliable used vehicle for my son who is heading out of state for college (not far but wanted him to be able to get back and forth). I was able to look around for a bit before being greeted by Mike who I later found out was part of the family owned business. Mike helped us get just what we needed and the whole process was seamless start to finish. Highly recommend.

Was nervous about the car buying process, but Mike was amazing! I never felt rushed or pushed into buying, and he explained how the process worked so I felt comfortable the entire time. I was very happy with my new car and my experience!

One of our company trucks grabbed a nail late Friday night . Called Saturday and they got our truck in but after installing a plug that didn t hold gave up and told us to come back Monday because they didn t have time . They had two emissions customers behind me . They still charged us for failed plug in our tire . A younger guy was great and apologetic that was handling me . Tried to refund me but because of his professionalism I told him to keep it . Toyota of Colchester fixed there failed plug job for free because of how they handled me lol

Called to get tires put on the wife s car , got the appointment same day . Very professional. Tad pricey for 4 tires to be mounted and balanced almost comparable to dealers. We rather support small then big . Thanks guys

We've been to Desmond's for emissions testing and they've always been so nice so we thought we'd try them for a full look over on our van. Not only were they very thorough but the price was quite reasonable. It did take an extra day as they went to do the final test drive and weren't quite happy with how something felt so pulled it back apart but I appreciate that more than I can express. I'd rather they take their time and make sure it's right vs just handing it back to us and pretending it's fine. You definitely won't be treated like just another number here. Our van now drives like it did the day we first brought it home and we couldn't be happier.

Went in for emissions testing. They got the car in and out in no time at all. While I was there, I inquired about them doing a job for me on the car. Was told that they'd charge me an initial $110. Dollars for a diagnostic quote.And then I'd have to pay an additional LABOR, plus PART'S, and that the original diagnostic fee wasn't going to be included or deducted from the overall bill...I don't think that is the proper way to take care of your customers. Even the manufacturer of the car will include that cost when you have them do the job.Now, if I never intended to have them complete the job, I'd understand that charge.So, for me, I will not be having any mechanical work done by this garage / shop.Very disappointing to say the least.

Desmond s is by far the worst for getting a tow. Years ago they practically stole my vehicle. The driver drove around for over an hour and a half with my car on the flatbed when the destination was only 15 minutes away. He had his young child in the vehicle as well on a hot day. While attempting to unload the vehicle, their flatbed starting dumping oil all over my street(which they took over two weeks to clean up). They then proceeded to tow their vehicle, with mine still attached back to their shop. After that they closed down for the day and stop responding to phone calls from myself and AAA. It took over three hours to locate my vehicle. The owner, who s an absolute disaster of a human, told me it would be days until I got my vehicle back and they weren t going to remove my vehicle off their tow until they fixed their tow truck first. Then they randomly delivered my car to location I requested an hour later with no contact to me, and the driver proceeded to bad mouth me.The other night I had to call AAA for a tow. The driver showed up immediately but once I told him my ride wasn t there yet, he told me he was going to put down that I refused the tow. I went back to my vehicle to call AAA, as I do this my ride showed up and he took off. I then called AAA and he not only told them I refused the call, but he also had it so no one at Desmond s would come pick up my car. They are so unbelievably rude at this facility and unprofessional. They do not have great customer service. The responses they make to reviews on here just show how they bully their customers and treat everyone poorly. Not once do they issue an apology or take responsibility. I highly suggest never letting this company touch your car. They will steal, damage, and verbally assault you every chance they get. The owner enables the workers to take advantage of their customers. They abuse their AAA contract and deserve to lose it.

When they've towed my cars they have always been pretty quick. I had my car towed there and they were very friendly and accommodating. Their prices aren't too bad either and when you call to ask questions they are good with answering them or getting back to you in a timely fashion.

Desmonds has been My go-to shop for repairs on my classic car and my preferred emissions place for a long time. Professional service and great towing guys. A-1 in my book. AAA work is the BEST I have ever had. Knowledgeable and friendly techs. As good as you will find. Thanks Desmond s!

Earl was awesome!!!! Friendly and professional. Triple aaa had given him totally incorrect information the vehicle actually� it was in much worse shape then they had told him. The breaks locked up and woul car was totally dead and had 2 very flat tires. It was even very hard just to steer. Earl didn't complain; listened patiently then just got to fixing the situation he was very careful to load the car stopping several times to straighten the wheels. The flats had the car super low to the ground he didn't scratch the bottom or the front. I was not sure the directions to the address it needed to deliver to but Earl did!!! He then managed to safely back the truck into and all the way up a blind corner 1/4 mile dirt driveway;� Incredible!

They charged me just under $100 to put on a spare tire! I had a AAA tow there to save money on the tow for extra miles ($15) to my repairman only to get totally ripped off on just putting on a spare from a flat tire. They wanted a lot for 4 new tires, so I decided to do that elsewhere and just have them put on the spare. I had all four tires rotated at Meineke for $10 so why $100 for one - really? Next time I will pay the extra towing to go to my honest repairman Raymond's Auto. On the phone, Bill said it would be $60 - but when I showed up he charged $98. Not happy with being overcharged that much. Be wary - I am still mad at this.

Tyler is phenomenal my car needed a tow and Tyler got me out in minutes. My car was wedged in a stairwell and a driveway!!Tyler got me out of a rock and a hard place for sure!!!

The trunk on my 2003 accord was busted. I've been ignoring it for around 6 months, until i got a flat tire and it made my life hell. I ended up going around and getting it quoted, but decided to bring it to Desmonds Auto. He ended up fixing it for practically HALF the price of the other guys. He was even able to do it in the same afternoon.Bill was courteous and funny and didn't try and up-sell me on all these unnecessary fixes. He did exactly what i asked him to do. Great guy, great mechanic, great experience.

The drivers are kind,understanding and care. Lately I've needed a tow truck alot. AAA called Desmond's and within minutes I was being helped. I definitely recommend this company. They get it done Right the first time.
