Had some exhaust work done here. 4/5 only because took a while for the car to be touched but seemed like the welder was arriving from a different job. Other than that Mike at the front desk was super cool he made sure he got every detail from me to meet my needs kept me informed with every step they took as the job was being done, and gotta give probs to the welder for his solid welds, they were also super cool and careful about my car being lowered and double checking the car would clear the lift goes a long way when others car about your car and don t just send it onto the lift and have a if it clears it clears mindset.

I started using black bear auto last year. I'm so glad I did. The staff is always so nice. They have a shuttle service or you can wait in the lobby. No problems with any of the services. I scheduled an appointment every visit. I definitely recommend black bear auto.

I used to love this place they somw how misdiagnosed 7500 worth of fixes on my car I came in telling them I need the front diff checked I was under the car before it went in I got the car running axle splines were done on front axle Trans leak was still coming from the plug the so called threaded in my Trans line were fine the was a small leak from the rad I give them that transfer case was fine the said it wasn't so was the rear diff and the axles that I was gonna get replaced when Barry was there he would do what u asked and you would pay the man not to mention the Trans leak was way worse upon pick up I don't have enough space to put some of the other things on here but never again

Mike at black bear is awesome. He overnighted parts for a HUGE job and had my car ready the same day. He was very good at communicating on the phone, and tried his best to get the best value for quality parts he could. Took the time to research my car and issue, couldn t ask for more.will be using these guys in the future.

Really great experience. First time experience with BBA, I had an alignment done on my lifted Subaru. Scheduled online was easy, the technician was great and answered all my questions, & the service advisors were very pleasant.

I brought my car to Black Bear Auto initially for a brake job since a mechanic friend didn't get the job done correctly. Black Bear mechanics were able to fix my E-brake issue and supposedly fixed the squeaking sounds coming from my rear braking system. Unfortunately, after my first visit I still noticed a minor screech whenever braking, particularly when I reversed. I spoke with Mike, who instructed me to bring my vehicle in again. The mechanics took another look and cleaned the brakes, no charge. I still notice the screeching sound while braking. Overall, customer service was great. Mike and another associate always kept me informed and they even sent me pics of the issues with my vehicle, which I appreciated. Not sure why my brakes are still having issues. Perhaps it's the type of brakes I purchased.

First time going to this facility for an oil change and noticed that they were very efficient and professional as well observant for potential upcoming problems. They were very thorough as well as explanation was easy to understand. I will be going for my future maintenance at Black Bear Auto from now on.

I swear this is the only mechanical work that will ever touch my vehicles in Connecticut I bought a beater for my wife's first car saved up penny to penny and got the perfect prices with the perfect labor done to rebuild the 2009 Nissan rogue. Not only did Mike at the front desk part for part help me find the best price and exact things that need to be done instead of like other shops trying to get me to pay for things that are not needed But he also got us scheduled for these things to be done at my convenience and fast as well as I have no family in Connecticut they let us sit and wait and have the labor done quickly and correctly go to Black Bears auto don't waste your time with these other shops

Black Bear is under new ownership since early this year (2023). They do excellent work, and the new owner Mike is very honest and fair minded and easy to talk with, and I would feel very comfortable getting work done on my car there. They diagnose problems quickly, and their mechanics do excellent work. Mike's assistant Mayra is also very organized and friendly and explains things well. Good team at Black Bear. Black Bear is the only garage I go to. They are friendly, knowledgeable and there are never any unexpected surprises. I'm fully informed before any work is done and the estimates given are accurate and reasonable.

I was taken care of very well. I was allowed to know everything they looked over during the oil change. The owner even sent a text as to whether all was good with service. I don't think I have ever been asked that, so impressed with that. I will be back with them.. .

I brought a car here for an inspection. Nothing but class at this establishment. Mechanic even took the time to stop and chat after looking at the car to explain things. Everyone extremely friendly

The service technicians at this car service are incredibly knowledgeable. They promptly took my car in, quickly identifying and resolving the noise issue I was experiencing. I was impressed with their expertise. Additionally, the team was extremely friendly and easy to deal with. The building has an appealing look, and the complimentary shuttle service back to my office was thoughtful. My family member had his brakes fail and they were fantastic at getting us in right away. Some parts were on back order and they went above and beyond to call around finding the part needed sooner than was originally expected. Very nice staff. Competitive pricing. I've been taking my Jeeps to Barry & the great folks at Black Bear for like 15 yrs & thousands of miles on my vehicles. I always get quality attention & customer service. Barry always explains what is going on with the car thoroughly. I never feel as if I'm being sold stuff I don't need. I trust Black Bear, my friends trust Black Bear. He keeps my vehicles running effectively and safely. Everyone is friendly. Even when they are busy, they take the time to take care of their customers. I've never had a bad experience at BB. Barry, Karen, Melissa, Myrah & the rest of the crew are the best. I feel fortunate every day to have a mechanic I can count on

I switched to BBA after some questionable issues with my last auto shop. All the headaches that the previous shop created, Mike and his team at BBA helped with, were professional, patient and understanding. Ive had blackbear do most of my vehicle maintenance such as fluids and alignment and recently had to have some front end and transmission work done to my car, service was fast, pricing was fair and customer service was great, many thanks to Barry and Melissa for all the help. Black Bear Auto is the only place to bring your vehicle If you're looking for a friendly and competent repair shop. Barry the owner operator runs the business with a 'can do" attitude and a staff of talented and considerate employees. Black Bear repaired my vehicle the next day and didn't make me wait two weeks as most shops do assuming they will even accept the job! No BS, just a great repair at what I consider a reasonable price. Highest recommendation, Black Bear is where I'll be taking all three of my vehicles from now on!Service: Auto exhaust system repair
