Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from. They fooled me. Went in for oil leak got an estimate to fix everything on car including clutch which had recently been replaced, $3700. It's a 2003 just wanted estimate on leak. Paid $116 for him to try to sell me a car. I wouldn't recommend them. Exactly what you hope an auto shop wouldn't be. (As far as your reply, We both know what you did. Get over on other people, not me.)

I ve gone to WrenchRite a few times now, and they are always courteous, timely, and professional. But today they went above and beyond. My car had been damaged during towing, and the towing company tried to deny that the damage was from towing. WrenchRite actually talked to the towing company on the phone and backed me up. That is truly good customer service from WrenchRite. Thank you!

I had such a great experience over at wrenchrite. From Joel to Jennifer to the rest of the guys, everyone is awesome. I live in the Bronx, NY and I came all the way out here to get A/C fixed on my 09 Subaru Forester. Man, I m pleased with the work they have done. Personally I don t like to have a mechanic that deals with a lot of brands without having to go to the dealership and I finally found one. I ll drive an hour an half Everytime if I need something fixed. Very trustworthy, honest group of people. I ve been told by a Subaru dealership that my AC compressor is done an need a new one, but when I took it to wrench Joel, checked an told me that I didn t need to replace it just the O-rings. He even went as far as actually taking me to the car, explaining and showing to me the parts that failed are failing an why. Sadly a service that I never got before coming here. Joel is beyond awesome. Defff highly recommended. I m very picky with mechanics and I m beyond satisfied with service and work here. If you have a Subaru and need repair, go here.

These guys truly know their Subarus. We take our 2007 Forester to them and their knowledge and attention to detail is amazing. They are not the cheapest around but I'd rather pay a bit more and have it fixed right on the first try.

I discovered WrenchRite Auto from my friends in Branford. Based off their recommendation, I drove all the way from Torrington Connecticut to drop off my 2007 Subaru Outback XT Limited that I purchased from a used car lot in Springfield ; In which was a total nightmare. They took their time going through it with a fine tooth and comb and corrected everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner, Joel really knows what he's doing and has a passion for what he does with Subarus. Despite how busy he is. This guy will talk with you for 15 20 minutes on the phone going through the process of what needs to be done to your car and why. He also will tell you what you need to do versus what can wait. They also sell tires for a very reasonable and competitive price. In the words of their office manager, Jen, "It rides like a luxury wagon

I wanted to ensure I wrote the review prior to forgetting as they truly deserve it.Short Version: Go to WrenchWrite for any and all automotive needs. Never have I felt as fairly treated or in good hands as I have from here.Long Version: I purchased a car through WrenchWrite and both Joel (the owner) and Jennifer (front desk mechanic) are wonderful people. Very helpful and quick to respond to questions (of which I had an annoyingly large amount of). The work done at this shop you can tell after a simple conversation with Joel, Jennifer or any of the mechanics there is true pride in what they put out and a VAST, I can not emphasize that enough, VAST amount of knowledge. I have never felt more confident in my purchase of a used car as I do buying from Wrench Write. If you are looking for a Used Subaru that is fairly priced, by a highly skilled mechanic staff and from just genuinely good people. There is no need to look any further than right here.Amazing experience, I will be recommending every Subaru owner I know in the area to this shop as I truly and sincerely am appreciative of their work and blown away by their professionalism.I will be first to admit I am probably not the easiest of customers and WrenchWrite was just truly incredible throughout my whole experience. I highly HIGHLY recommend utilizing this business easiest 10/10 - 5/5 stars ever.

Joel is the best! The dealer gave up on my car's extended issue and was less than helpful. Joel never stopped trying to find the root cause and was able to work with my warranty company when he found the issue. I seriously thought I was going to have to buy a new car, but he saved the day!

I bought my first subaru this month and was having an issue with it. I walked into this place with no appointment and they were able to look at my car about 45 minutes after I showed up (I would consider this good since I had no appointment and they were clearly busy). The women at the desk was very nice and pleasant and the mechanic that looked at my car knew his stuff. He was able to tell me what was wrong and was willing to take the time to answer all my questions. I decided to sell the car as it needed major repairs so I cannot comment from personal experience on repairs from this shop, but I would expect that the experience would be great. There shop looked good and the mechanic seemed super knowledgeable. If I ever need a Subaru repair I will definitely try this place. Their prices for common subaru repairs are also very competitive. Hope this helps anyone looking for a Subaru mechanic. Thank you WrenchRite for your time! Also they have a very friendly shop dog which is a plus in my book.

Joel, Jennifer and the team at Wrenchrite are professional and wonderful individuals. Almost two years ago I went in to have my head gaskets repaired and just recently I came back to have my heater core repaired. While my car was in their shop, they gave me a loaner car which ran perfectly. Also I want to mention the work ethic that Joel has. His work ethic is unmatched and I am blessed to know him and trust him with my car. Jennifer is so kind and so helpful with all of my needs and my fifteen million questions. I made the right investment with them when it comes to my car. If you have a Subaru, don't spend all that extra money at a dealership getting your car fixed. Please go to Wrenchrite I promise you will not regret. I will back up this business any day of the week, that is how wonderful and extraordinary they are. Thank you Joel, Jennifer and the whole team. My car runs smoothly and it feels brand new! Please give them your business, it is worth it!Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Brakes, Oil change

Bought a 2011 Outback in 2017 with 151,000 miles brought it to Joel and his team they tell you what needs to be fixed now, and what you can put off; they are very respectful of the need to be cautious with spending on repairs. They guide you through keeping your Subaru on the road for lots and lots of miles, mine is up to 203,000. They are a great team!I would not bring a Subaru anywhere else whether you just need an oil change or a head gasket job Joel and his team are super nice and total professionals.

Went in for clutch noises on crosstrek. They seemed to do a good job and did not come across as taking advantage of the situation. There was an up charge which felt appropriate. I would go back.

I've waited a few months to post a review for WrenchRite, just to make sure everything turned out OK...Well, everything has turned out just fine! Joel and I did business completely over the phone, as I was referred to him from a mutual acquaintance. I live in RI, and we drove our 2012 Forester down to Joel's shop on Memorial Day weekend, and dropped it off. Joel contacted me directly, told me what I already expected to hear about the needed repairs (nothing more, nothing less), and made the repairs that week. Spoke with Joel after the repairs were done, and he freely gave me great advice on what to watch out for down the road.We drove down to pick the car up that next weekend, and it has driven perfectly since.Professional, courteous, timely, reasonable. That's how I would describe WrenchRite and Joel. Will not hesitate to bring our Subarus to this fine shop again when needed,Cheers,Dave

I bought a car from Joel today, and despite multiple hurdles, I would say that dealing with him, and his super-patient/ efficient "front-office mechanic", Jennifer, has been the best car buying experience I've ever had. I also feel completely confident that the car I bought is solid and was a good deal. Thus far, I'd recommend WrenchRite to anyone.

I live nearly an hour away, but I'll bring my Subaru here for big repairs because I know they'll do a great job for the best price. I'm confident that my Subaru will pass the 200,000 mile mark with the repairs WrenchRite has done! Nice people, friendly shop dog.

The staff at WrenchRite is truly professional. Dropped off my 2016 WRX to get a Southbend Clutch Stage 2 Endurance, Versus Fork, Pin, OEM TOB and Flywheel installed today. Dropped off at 9AM got a call around 3:30 car was all set. Went to pick up and met Joel. Very personable, great conversation and the passion he has for cars really shows! They did an awesome job on my clutch and if I ever need any work done I will visit them again. The prices are incredibly reasonable because they know their Subies in and out. It is extremely difficult to find honest and knowledgeable mechanics and having a neighborhood favorite is a must. If you have a Subie that needs work see Joel and don't look back. Thanks Joel & staff!Service: Transmission

I purchased a 2005 Forester from Joel in 2/2016. I'm a car guy and I have to tell you this purchase was of the best experiences I've ever had buying or having a car repaired. I saw the vehicle on his lot late on a Thursday night and texted Joel that night. He responded almost immediately, we talked quite a bit about the car via text and I went to see the car the next morning. The car was exactly as he described at a very fair price. I asked him about some of the common maintenance items with Subaru and he told me he would perform them before I purchased. I picked the car up on a Sunday morning. All the work was done just as Joel had promised. I came away with a quality used car from a trustworthy guy who you can tell takes pride in his work, and knows Subaru's inside and out.

Never wrote a review, but since this is how I found and decided to bring my 2009 Subaru in from Stamford for head gasket and timing belt replacement, kudos will be written. I came to Joel's team as a total stranger and was treated with the utmost decency. Brought the car in on Thursday, had it back on Friday just as I was told. I was given a loaner vehicle and a $50.00 coupon credit without asking. My car runs great and I'm very grateful for their service and treatment. The dreaded head gasket leak has restored my faith in humanity. Thank you Joel, Jennifer, Tim, the guy who talked to me out in the rain when I was leaving, and especially your parents who raised you all right.

Great guy, great service and great prices. When I was installing the trailer hitch on my 2003 Subaru Forester the muffler snapped at the flange with the mid pipe and I didn't have the tools to fix it (no welder) - I brought it to WrenchRite and he had it back on there good as new in about 30 minutes. He also explained to me a problem with my oil filter ring seal which I had not noticed and explained how to fix it. Some shops would just do it and slap it on the bill but instead he was very professional and gave me the heads up so I could do it myself.

I was visiting family and 500 miles from home when my 2010 Forrester started making a grinding noise. My sister said a neighbor highly recommended Wrenchrite so I game them a call, they didn t know me but were able to repair the rear wheel bearings and get me on my way in one day. I can t speak highly enough of their service and knowledge of Subaru s.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes

My experience at Wrenchrite was phenomenal. Jennifer and Joel were very accommodating and I m extremely happy with the work that was done to my WRX (catback exhaust install). I recommend this shop to any Subaru owner looking for maintenance or repairs over the local Subaru dealership!

Not good experiencegasketYour company changed the head gasket on my 2008 Subaru Outback. I came as a referralfrom a customer in Branford and after you worked on my car it was still leaking. I had to bring it back and continued to have issues. I am happy to provide a receipt and proof of service.

Very pleased with the service. My 2009 Subaru forester had an oil leak near the cylinder head. I feared the worst and thought I needed a head gasket... at least that's what consensus was according to the stuff I read on the web. So I was especially pleased when Joel, the owner, told me that it was only a valve cover gasket leak, a simple and inexpensive fix. That was my first experience with Wrenchrite. After that , brought in my wife's Subaru legacy in for a brake issue. It was repaired quickly and at much less cost that the subaru dealer. I would recommend this subaru service to anyone.

Terrible experience. Would NOT recommend. I brought my car in to be fixed and received one call from Joel, the owner, telling me he didn't know what the problem was. I explained briefly that it felt like an issue I'd had before. He hung up to continue to investigate. Next call was to say the car was ready and that it would be nearly $400. No call to tell me what the issue was, or to ask permission to move forward...just the assumption that doing a service that expensive without my permission was what I wanted. Oh and on top of this, the work they did didn't fix the problem. I had to drive all the way home (was visiting CT) and get my mechanic to do the work that would solve the problem. In an effort to get me out of the shop when I voiced concern about work being done without authorization or any type of communication with me, Joel offered to undo everything and put my old parts back in...knowing this was not an option for me as I was from out of town, his shop was closed all weekend and that I had to be back home on Monday. WrenchRite still refuses to remedy the situation. His only attempt was an offer to pay for the work that I'd had done by MY mechanic when I returned home...THAT work was a mere fraction of the price that I paid for what Joel did... work that didn't solve the problem and that he was never authorized to do. STAY AWAY!

Highly recommend! It s apparent the moment you meet Joel that he is a Subaru guy. He was very knowledgeable about the work I needed done, he explained everything and was dead on with his estimate. From now on, there is only one place I ll bring my car. Thanks Joel!
